Hip-Hop Hip-Hop just celebrated 50 years this year is hipop that means everybody from the age of 1 to 75 has been touched through the through line of what hip hop represents and uh as we've seen so many of our voting rights around the country being Stripped Away um people getting kicked off the r uh it's feeling like modern day Jim C some places in this country but there's a there's a FL and there's a an energy throughout the about generation I'm talking young old everybody from LJ to a quo real
ly make this happen so we're organizing this year I'll say we're organizing this year uh kicking off a $5 million Capital campaign to fund voting to fund voting rights organizations around in every state in the UN that's excellent before we go even further I just want to ask a question by show of hands by show of hands who in the room identifies as a being a part of Hip Hop culture who identifies that as like I am of this okay all right not everybody answered so I wonder what the other what the
others identifying if they don't identify it the music moves them the people moves them the sound the culture is so much more uh that we're able to bring so many people who have been outside of the political process uh into it and we should really be controlling not just presidential in Congress but district attorney Sheriff City counsil all legisl so many of these rights are are back in our local communities uh and so we're just trying to uh Advocate and Mize and energize energized through a me

World members in Congress talking to Young some of our young NES Justin B out inand uh the new mayor the new mayor of Memphis um we've got a big program that's coming out this week uh in Mississippi Southern Poverty Law Center but being able to put endless entertainment on the money back big big 30 a bunch of these younger artists with some of these Legacy organizations and leaders to just ask those real questions uh and actually actually open it up to a whole new generation of people that just
not thinking about it I used to say that if I went anywhere in the world and I said is Brooklyn in this house somebody somewhere we go like that right okay so now we're on Howard's campus a different filter did anyone in the room attend the college of fine arts they're not loud enough I sa Fine Arts okay fine arts okay what cam is also involved in as a graduate of college of fine art he's on the board of visitors for the for the cha egg bosan college of fine arts under the leadership of Dean Fe
licia Rashad we're doing some amazing things this year really bring in our Earth program we also have a huge Capital campaign so please feel free to consistently donate and push uh towards specifically the College of fin night uh but I'm really excited about some of our program from art Bas all the way to NBA allar and so many other places around the world that we're really bringing and highlighting our students and like the world we don't realize we have literally the top HBCU one of the top ar
t programs fine art programs in the country yeah so it's like really love I love working with that team and I can't wait to see what we'll do next one other thing I definitely want to call out canvas class of 2003 yeah 20 years their is just announced that they are uh putting together a what is it called endowed scholarship yep and they're eorting that right now you trying to raise first yes I I don't want to take credit for that I have amazing classmates that really been leading that effort but
yeah we got $100,000 in Dallas scholarship but I think we're getting up to 333 I forgot what but $333,000 Dallas scholarship we got a lot of bers in my class CEOs heads of casinos heads in the White House like CMOS major corporations but then off a lot of J entrepreneurs and business owners so I I we pushing there we spend a lot of money on the Gucci the Lou looking fly Big House cars everybody we 20 years out and we kind of been getting this so I'm hoping we even push that to a million CL 2 ri
