Family remembers Paul Alexander, a Dallas man who lived in an iron lung for 70-plus years

Doctors believed Paul would not survive long after his two-year stay at Old Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Paul defied the odds and doctors and lived 73 more years.

Im 70 and when i was a kid a lot of people got polio and need the iron lung to breath for them. It scared me to death even though i was born in an era when the vaccine was available.
