we have seen so many ovens over the years ovens
from so many manufacturers I can't possibly list them all but if I had to guess at least 80 of
these ovens all look and feel the same not many of them are anything like this one right here
this is the Kick-Ass 12 volt 130 watt Travel cover as you can see from the packaging it
comes in very minimal packaging Straight Out of the Box you've got the unit and then this is
fun okay I'll steal the question from your head why on Earth I've gone by thi
s oven with so many
others on the market how does this one set itself apart from the rest well it turns out I'm kind
of surprised kick ass have gone and taken what I consider to be a poor feature on another oven and
turns it into a home run yes the oven has all the usual features we've come to expect from a 12 volt
travel oven latches hinges external Dimensions appear to be the same if not similar to other
units two trays internally timers run on features temperature knobs that kind of stuf

plug for the factory which I think is a great idea but I must admit I started out with some mixed
opinions when I saw this oven and wasn't sure if it was worth reviewing but as I used it and played
around with it I realized the addition of the internal light to the actual unit complements the
glass door means I didn't have to use a torch to look in and see what I'm cooking or lose heat open
the door to check what I'm actually cooking at its status but the light alone was not enou
gh to get
me across the line but actually the addition of the digital temperature gauge here on the front
was something to me that just triggered off hey these guys guys are taking a product looking at it
Reinventing it to become their own not just carbon copies of other units there they've gone and
thought about it and produced something that is their own and different within the market because
other units where they don't have a digital thermostat on the front of the unit you have to
kin
d of like play around with that manual dial and and hear the thermostat kick on and off to kind
of gauge where you are it's not all candy and Roses here my friends one drawback on this unit
is that 10 mil internally too small which means those that have already invested in another oven
with trays can't just quite easily come across purchase this unit and use their existing
trays in this unit second issue with this is the internal light hanging down which means it
may clash with other trays
on the market and or foods that you're placing into the unit well it's
great to see a blade inline type fuse on this unit for me I've never had a good relationship with
them they always seem to burn out I'm not saying this one will or won't it's just in the past for
me with the kind of load um drawing they just don't seem to last I don't know what the solution
is but it comes to a product maybe they have to put it in there because it's a product but you
might want to keep an eye on those ki
nd of fuses and just and always just check that they're um
in good working order so if you're looking to start up a bakery from a car or just heat up your
lunch this could be the oven at a price of 299 it sets itself really well in the market as it's by
no means the cheapest or the most expensive unit out there in the market its build and quality is
exactly what we've come to expect from Kick-Ass and they've truly grasped the concept of an oven
and made something of their own not just anoth
er square box like all the other products out there
when it comes to cooking temperatures I find that everybody's 12 volt system dictates exactly how
the oven is going to perform we've got a good battery Bank behind it you're going to get some
good results but then even better when you've got the vehicle running and you can boost that
voltage up to like that 14 Mark you get a more responsive oven and a quicker cooking temperature
even a higher cooking temperature some people add other after
market items to these units like some
sort of voltage converter to really draw that high voltage from your batteries but as I said a lot
of these ovens with cooking temperatures it really depends on your 12 volt system and you've got 12
volt systems I suggest you check out this video
