by live to bring us all the details hey Maria good morning good morning Cliff we are out here at our players see behind me they are warming up and getting ready to sing and dance but first we have the director of the camp Rebecca Bruni with us Rebecca thanks so much for being here thank you for having us I'm excited to be here perfect so tell us a little bit more about this camp and what these campers are learning this week so so this is the Augusta players building character musical theater sum
mer camp we hold it every year during the summer we have two sessions and it's just a time for kids to come in and build on their skills for theater awesome so can any kid be involved in this or is it somebody that has to be in the junior players oh no anybody can can join the camp anyone Rising first grade through 12th grade can come and join the camp and learn all there is to learn about theater awesome So for anybody who might be interested in being in y'all's program tell us how this is a ki
nd of a good pathway for that oh sure so a lot of our Junior players actually start in summer camp they learn the skills to audition and you know short combos for choreography so that when they get to the audition room to audition for junior players or main stage they're a little bit more prepared awesome and you were telling me earlier this is the building character camp and y'all work on a little bit more than just a production tell us about that yeah so it has a little bit of a double meaning
so obviously they're building characters on stage with the Productions that they do um during camp but also we work during Camp to be kind humans and to be good citizens of the community of your school for your family your church wherever so I love that message so these kids are learning a full production in just a few practices tell us a little bit about that and how this community can support sure so they have like nine rehearsals to put an entire show together in this camp this is these are
the older kids and they're doing Schoolhouse Rock um they will it'll culminate in a showcase next Friday at 1 pm where they'll show whoever wants to show up um what they've been working on but it's nine rehearsals it's a lot to do in just a few days so they learn this whole thing in just nine rehearsals can anybody in the community come tell us how people can attend yes I hope people in the community come it's totally free it's held at Church of the Good Shepherd on Walton Way in the Parish Hall
the kids will perform we'll put up a stage and we'll have sound and all the fun stuff and yeah please come out and come out and watch these amazing kids awesome well Rebecca thank you so much I think that's all the time we have today I'm gonna turn things back over to Cliff and zaina so I can come learn one of these dance routines oh I that's what I'm looking forward to Maria better bring some dance moves back to the station just a thing or two all right thanks Maria
