is a rarity these days but there's still plenty to choose from in 2023. Here's ten of the cheapest new
vehicles with a manual transmission. At $30,000, this sporty compact 2023
Honda Civic SI is available only with a six speed manual paired to a 200
horsepower turbo 1.5 liter four cylinder. The $29,000 Toyota GR86 and $30,000 Subaru BRZ, are a pair
of mechanically identical sports cars that feature a front engine, rear-wheel drive
layout and a standard six-speed stick. Th
e lightweight Mazda MX5,
features a convertible top 181 horsepower and a six-speed
manual transmission as standard equipment starting at $29,000. For $28,000, the Chevrolet Camaro four cylinder coupe
makes 275 horsepower and 295 lb. ft of torque and makes manual life easier
with a hill hold assist feature to keep the car from rolling backward
when stopped on an incline. While the two door Mini Cooper’s
base turbocharged 1.5 liter three cylinder offers just 134
horsepower and 162 lb. feet of torq
ue the 2024 Mini Cooper’s low curb weight short wheelbase and six-speed stick
makes it a joy to drive at $27,000. For $26,000 the top trim Kia Forte GT
uses a 201 horsepower turbocharged 1.6 liter four cylinder
and doesn't skimp on features. If you want an affordable vehicle
with a manual transmission and off road capability, look no
further than the all-wheel drive Subaru Crosstrek at $25,000. At $22,000, Volkswagen offers
the Jetta with a turbo 1.5 liter four cylinder manual that puts out 158
horsepower and 184 lb. feet of torque. The $21,000 Subaru Impreza
has the same 152 horsepower two liter flat four as the Crosstrek though their manual transmissions
feature five gears instead of six. For $17,000, the Nissan Versa is the cheapest
new car on the market, and it comes standard with a five speed manual with a 1.6 liter
