one of the most common problems that plagues  singers how to improve your pitch something sweet in your eyes someone sweet in my  arm sweet in your eyes sweet in my eyes now you'll definitely be able to improve your  pitch with the help I'm going to give you in this video but if you don't understand the  other basic aspects of what creates a great voice you will still not be able to grow The  Voice you've always wanted if you want help getting the voice you've always wanted click  the link below
in the pinned comment or the video description and join my free course I'll  give you the full Foundation you need to take your voice where you want to take it now in one  of my private students or someone I'm recording says H I just have General pitch problems or with  this particular part of the song I can't seem to stay on pitch or I'm toned deaf I tell them  you don't have a pitch problem relax instead you likely have a placement problem the first  and best way to improve your pitch is to l
earn to place your voice in ways that help you Center  on a pitch let me show you I'm going to strum a G chord and then while looking at this tuner I'm  going to try to sing a b which is the third of G now I'm going to watch this and I'm going  to adjust the notes placement I'm singing a B in my chest voice and you're going to  notice something very interesting regarding [Music] placement you see what happened when I was swallowing  the note I was flat and without trying to change my pitch accur
acy I started placing  the note Less in the back of my throat and bringing it forward and I modified  the vowel a little bit but I wasn't necessarily going for a vowel change I was  going for a placement [Music] adjustment [Applause] [Laughter] oh now as I bring my placement let  SW and more forward I draw the note sharp and there's a balance in placement that helps me hit  the note more dead on this is a feel thing and it takes practice over time you will learn if you  are constantly being flat
you'll learn to bring things a bit more forward or to not swallow or to  brighten up note this is way different than simply smiling watch what happens if I simply smile to  try to draw the note around without adjusting my placement [Music] it doesn't really work now  smiling can be part of adjusting my placement if I do all those things larynx height shape of  the back of the vocal tract or the back of the tongue I am not consciously thinking about  raising or lowering the pitch I'm just moving
the placement around and this is helping me adjust  my pitch this is a way easier way to do it now you may not like the initial tonalities that are  coming out of your mouth while you're playing with your placement to improve your pitch and that's  okay this is an exercise in developing pitch Consciousness through placement and this stuff  is sticky it will inform your muscle memory and then you can work on adjusting your placement for  ideal tones later a note on hearing yourself if you you fi
nd yourself consistently being sharp or  above the pitch when you're in a band setting or a loud setting with your voice singing with lots of  other instruments you are likely not able to hear yourself as much as you'd like to so unconsciously  you're like oh I don't want to be flat you push the pit up a little bit to compensate for that if  you find yourself being consistently flat over a passage of music and you're playing with everybody  you are likely hearing yourself too much so don't negle
ct to get a good comfortable mix in your  ears I practice a lot with headphones on so that I hear the feedback of my voice through the  signal chain even when I'm just playing with my guitar this helps me hear my voice in context  with all the other things that I'm hearing and it's very important that I have that level  correct for more on developing placement and interest in your voice check out this video  and again if you would like help de veloping your voice and the fundamentals needed to r
eally  take your voice to the next level click that link below in the pin comment or the video description  and join my free course we'll see you for more

This is so true! For years I thought I just couldn't sing in tune and I would be stuck with it forever if not for your courses. I cannot express how thankful I am.

@keanepalmer7996

my boy splurged and got that J-45!! sounds amazing!

@LuckeGabriel

Yep this has definitely immediately improved things for me! Thanks again Chris!

@neilbonavita8623

Wow, Chris, this is so cool. My pitch keeps getting better but I still struggle w/ being flat. I've been smiling away like an idiot with no real consistent change. I never thought about changing placement for pitch. This is such a great new variable. Thanks man. Since being in your classes, I've seen such a huge difference in my tone, range and overall sound. I just recorded myself on three songs and WOW! What a difference already. Now I can tweak the pitches that were flat. Thanks!! so so helpful.

@kevinfields2574

Solid video as always, sir. Appreciate the help I've gotten from your yt videos.

@personalacc_57928

I love your Ado videos! Thanks for posting a new video for those who love singing and music.

@roro_fosho

You're a legend Chris! Gotta follow the harmonic/resonant pathways. I feel like the pitch centering/placement adjustment is super easy to pick up on when whistling - like you can whistle a pitch but sometimes it feels like you're reaching for it, whereas if it's centered you have the right tension in the right muscles of your face/throat/mouth and no air is wasted... the note is projected strongly but it feels like you used less energy to do it. The breakpoints of the different registers are tough to get around. Great vid my dude, been meaning to take some lessons with you but time/money have been factors. Wish you had more vids on harmony, since I find it difficult to not sing the unison when I hear something. Thanks for the reminder on monitoring, especially as a lower baritone.

@altpropaganda7293

This is solid advice. I struggle constantly with swallowing my notes and not many people seem to address the issue, its frustrating. I still struggle with this issue but have discovered the bringing the sound forward, there is a resonance sweet spot where everything opens up, sometimes when i’m singing through a song I will repeat to myself sing like your talking sing like your talking, idk why it works sometimes but it does.

@festiveFurry

oh that's awesome, thank you so much for your videos and lessons! I just started doing your lessons from the free course and I already feel an improvement! thanks again Chris 😍😍😍

@jmerdsoy

Funny, I'm in a session right now wrestling with this 😅 ... Thanks Chris!

@WhaleBlueEye

Good one! ✌️🎸✌️

@NoUsernamae

Hmm i think i actually have pitch problems because i think I have a forward placement a lot but i still am unable to be on pitch when singing. And the sucky problem is I find it hard to focus on comparing my sound to the music/original singer so I can't tell if im flat or sharp much but if someone points it out i can hear it clearly. Or for instance if my guitar is flat or sharp by 15-20 cents I can tell easily but i struggle to make my mind to do the comparison with my voice. I will keep this advice in mind because it's possible I'm wrong and this really is the problem. I think i may just not have th control developed yet and not being able to focus on it and hear it makes it harder to consciously make better. Ps: really like your ado videos, and looking forward to the dimash video, hehe

@saintdumont5322

I had and still have quiet trouble with pitch as a routined homestudio singer using headphones now singing a band, hearing myself through the PA... :-/ Now I bought a small PA system a cheap dynamic mic, play around. I really recommend this... Hearing yourself through PA speakers is very different than headphones... in my opinion...

@ConstantineM

I play guitar for 16 years and I have not bad ear. I mix and master music. But I suffer with singing. And problem is pitch. I need time to adjust my voice to pitch.

NGL but this was super helpful so I'll be sure to use this for my students! Thanks a lot Chris! I have a request, would it be possible for you to analyse this singer's voice? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZAxh0IxUX8 he has this amazing unique tonality in this voice, this sort of raspy/husky tone and yet he can take that sound super high without loosing that trait! Thanks in advance Chris!

@danilodevil..

Why you strum a G if you are gonna sing a B? I don't understand...
