STAR WARS IS OWNED BY LUCASFILM AND DISNEY. I OWN NOTHING EXCEPT MY OWN THOUGHTS AND CRITICISMS

"You've taken your first step into a larger
world." "That's good news." (smoothyoda.mov) With season 2 of The Bad Batch coming very
soon I think its important to revisit this final scene from season 1, what it could mean
for the upcoming season and possibly for its importance to an even larger story in the
star wars franchise. After the disposing of Lama Su and the destruction
of tipoca city, the clone doctor Nala Se is sent to an imperial facility on Mount Tantiss
on the the planet weyland, whe
re she is introduced to a scientist sporting a familiar uniform. The same uniform that clone engineer Pershing
wore in the Mandalorian. He was involved in experiments utilizing the
blood of Grogu injected into imperial volunteers resulting in grotesque results, its hard not
to draw connections from imperial cloners and not think of the survived emperor through
cloning technology. But one last takeaway, the name of the location
Nala se is sent to should be a familiar one to legends fans, as its t
he same location
of the spaarti cloning cylinders from Heir to the Empire, connecting all of this to grand
admiral thrawn. (smoothyoda.mov) So there’s a rumor going around of a post
Rise of Skywalker movie directed by David Lindelof who created the phenomenal Watchmen
HBO series, and I couldn't be more excited. The Sequel trilogy is an era I want to see
explored more not just with movies but tv series as well. I’d love to be able to revisit the sequel
characters in new situations and new creativ
es at the helm of their stories. Did you know that the last LEGO holiday movie,
LEGO star wars summer vacation gave hints to where these characters can be in a post
TROS setting, Rey is headed to the unknown regions to search for jedi temples, poe is
training new x-wing pilots, Rose is leading relief missions and Finn will scour the galaxy
for others like him that are strong in the force, all these are great starting off points
for a new adventure with the sequel trilogy heroes. (smoothyoda.mov)
Have you heard of the upcoming star wars show
the acolyte, we just got some more details around this mysterious show set to take palace
100 years before the phantom menace, its helmed by award winning creative Leslye Headland
of Russian Doll fame, and in the past its been reported as a mystery-thriller that explores
shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High republic. It will see a former padawan reunite with
her jedi master to investigate a series of crimes, bu
t now just what exactly are tehy
investigating? What is the central mystery of the acolyte,
new details say that It's a sith led story and elaborates on just how the sith infiltrated
the jedi, something that as we know has ripple effects lasting years down until a sith is
eventually leading the Republic all together. This might be the start of the growing decline
in the connection to the force that the jedi of the prequels suffer from. The growing dark in the galaxy and inevitable
fall of the je
di. (smoothyoda.mov) Would Dooku have liked the empire? As evil as Dooku was throughout the clone
wars, I think its easy to forget that his intentions were to end corruption in the galaxy
and specifically the republic, and with the dark side effecting his point of view he saw
it within himself to end that corruption through any means necessary, and that meant partnering
with the most evil force user there is and creating a faction of worlds that fight for
independence from the growing reaches of
the republic. Dooku even oversaw the senate meetings for
the separatists, of which included people who genuinely wanted peace through independence
like Mina bonterri. This is in no way a Dooku praise post, especially
since Dooku likely killed mina bonteri, and himself manipulated republic corruption as
well. But if considered through his flawed lens
of for the greater good, in no way do I think Dooku would have soiled his soul so far had
he known it resulted in the most corrupt political govern
ment to arise in the galaxy. (smoothyoda.mov) What happened to the Star Wars anthology series?,
Originally when there was a plan for a Star Wars movie to be released every year lucasfilm
had plans for stand alone films originally to have the subtitle “a star wars story”,
We had Rogue One and then Solo which put a halt to the entire project due to its box
office numbers, but apparently there were as many as 9 ideas for anthology films straight
from George, what we do know was planned was a Kenobi
film that was supposed to be a start
of a trilogy and a Boba Fett film by Josh Trank, who was dropped, but then the project
was given to James Mangold, and as this was announced on opening day of solo, unfortunately
the project quietly fizzled out as the the focus of lucasfilms future titles shifted
to disney plus. The kenobi movie script became the kenobi
series, and while there's no proof the boba film became the book of boba fett, we eventually
did get a live action exploration of boba in sa
id series. (smoothyoda.mov) Emilia Clarke should come back as Qi’ra,
Whether you loved Solo or not, one aspect that I wish was brought back to the screen
is Qi’ra and crimson dawn. There's so much potential in a disney plus
series that chronicles the exploits of this crime organization started by darth maul with
Qi’ra by his side. We could finally get that one section of story
in Maul's life that shows just how he ended up on Malachor in Star Wars Rebels. As well as we get the wonderful Emilia C
larke
back in star wars. Now for those following the comics you know
about the marvel crossover events: war of the bounty hunters, crimson reign and hidden
empire that continue Qi’ra and crimson dawn's story set in between empire and return, and
while- what i do think what they are doing is interesting, signs are pointing to an unfortunate
end for Qi’ra, and I simply hope that's not the case and we get further exploration
on screen with this badass character introduced in canon. (smoothyoda.mov)
The mandalorian is officially coming back
march 1st 2023, and here’s 3 things I’m specifically excited to explore in the upcoming
season. Number 1- more mandalorian culture being presented. I’m especially excited to see possibly the
gaps of story filled regarding the fall of Mandalore in between Rebels and the Mandalorian. To see just how Mandalore fell and how it
could rise again would be an interesting plot point for Din to be aware of. Number 2 - whats next for grogu, in case you
didn't know
cause you slept on the book of boba fett grogu is back where he belongs with
his dad Din djarrin after making a tough choice between the path of the jedi and the
path of the mandalorian. But has that arc officially ended with his
choice of reuniting with Din? He doesn't just stop being force sensitive,
so what is next for the future for our favorite smol force user. And number 3, and probably the most important,
just what is Babu Frik doing here, that’s some sequel trilogy representation right
there. (smoothyoda.mov) The rise of skywalker changed the Sith Rule
of 2 forever. As you know in the final episode of the skywalker
saga we are introduced to the concept of the force dyad, a power like life itself that
binds two individuals in the force and is counted as one. This is a union of great power and is seen
once within several generations. In the novelization of the Rise of Skywalker
it is said that the rule of two is a pale imitation of this ancient Doctrine of the
Dyad, and that one
day a true dyad would form and it’s already been confirmed in the same
novelization that Palpatine tried to form a Dyad with Anakin Skywalker but to no avail. Meaning this is the goal of all sith, the
sith rule of two which seizes power though an unhealthy and toxic power dynamic is trying
to conquer life itself by replicating this ancient doctrine, that is a pure union of
equal individuals. And its my favorite bit of lore from the sequels,
oh darn i talked about the sequels again. (smoothyoda.
mov) after the release of Andor are you excited
with the return of Favreau and Filoni centered storytelling? with its release fans who wanted a darker
and more realistic take on the galaxy far far away were certainly fed with this Stellar
show so much so that there does seem to be a Divide from people who want more shows from
creatives who are not just filoni and faveau shows like Andor or Kenobi rather than the
more pulp driven shows of the mando-verse personally I think there's enough room in
the galaxy to have multiple perspectives on Star Wars. I am happy we are getting more diverse with
our creatives like Deborah Chow's take on Obi-Wan earlier this year. Leslie hedland's upcoming take on the Sith
with the Acolyte and John Watts's Goonies inspired take with Skeleton Crew it's great
to have more than filoni and favreau at the helm and have more diverse voices than just
those two creatives as much as I do still enjoy their work. (smoothyoda.mov) Welcome to my last star wars short for
the
year, and today lets look back at all the star wars we got from the year 2022. We began the year with the show Book of Boba
Fett, it personally wasn't for me but we did get some cool set ups for mando season 3 and
electric finale with Cad bane and Boba riding a rancor. I personally went to Star Wars celebration
anaheim and had a blast. I even got to see the first two episodes of
Kenobi with an audience, onto Kenobi, a show I was more in love with the writing and character
work rather than t
he visuals and direction. Andor was my favorite thing of the year, excellent
writing, acting, drama and suspense, just overall great television. Tales of the Jedi excelled when delving into
Dooku's backstory but the Ahsoka episodes didn’t do as much for me. But as we all know LEGO does the heavy lifting
of star wars as we finally got the skywalker saga and an excellent third and final entry
to the LEGO sequel trilogy holiday themed specials. What was YOUR favorite Star Wars of the year? (smoothy
