Knowledge is the power, and that is the reason
why I have ordered these four large boxes, which are full of knowledge! So let's have a look!
A lot of philatelic literature in English and in German. So, what are we having here? Many, many
books written by Mr. Proud! I'm really proud to have books from Mr. Proud :-) He has
written postal history of almost every country you can think of. But we got many other
books here. Rhodesian Philately to 1924, George VI Large Key Type, Thurn und Taxis, T
he Encyclopedia of British West Indies Postmarks, we got large books, we got small books, Principality of Monaco, Sierra Leone, Barados, British Guiana Cotton Reels by Mr. Townsend, who
had a great collection of these first stamps - legendary stamps of British Guiana... this was
the auction of his collection... good to know! Oh, I know this one! Bombay cover, currently based in the collection
in the Czech Republic - nice one! Collection of Lord Steinberg - Great
Britain Mint Multiples - also
a good one! Trinidad - great book! Oh, maybe you know this guy - Mr. Lilly - he
belongs to the family of Eli Lilly company - you surely know that one from the stock exchange. He
had a great collection of many, many stamps... Sarawak Stamps & Post History, Jamaica, The Queen's Stamps... What's this? Eilmarken von Östereich ...and many, many other books. You
got books about Hungarian stamps, you got Fundamentals of Philately, some Billig's stamps, and the book which I'm
really proud of - this
is the highlight of my order, of my current purchase -
G.R.I. overprints by Mr. Gibbs! To get this book on the market is really
pretty difficult and it's also quite expensive... So, guys, do you also buy
books to get knowledge? Because on the internet you find good information,
but what you find in the books, you will never find on the internet! There is
usually just the basic information on the web... Well, it was a good purchase and I hope
to get some good books soon again! :-)

Amazing, Radek! All the knowledge!!! I agree with you about the difference of information on the internet and the depth of knowledge in comparison in books. Maybe in future it might change, but presently internet cannot replace books. I love books as well! One never can have enough books and also not enough knowledge. The more you know the more you know you don't know. Thanks for showing the books to us!
WOW Radek, what a treasure trove of books. Thanks for sharing.
Incredible!
A treasure trove of info! The great thing about philately is not only going out and trying to find pieces for the collection but looking them up and finding out all about them. It’s really fun for me when I find out that there’s varieties to look for! Great video!!!
Those are incredible. And you are correct about the internet vs print information. I have been scouring my area on a hunt for literature and auction catalogs young and old. Thank you for your scholarship!
