rocket has released a new device the Rocket Station a perfect sidekick for the rocket Max glasses you might have heard of you know those glasses that project a virtual Cinema before your eyes that I've been talking about a lot but what is the Rocket Station think of it as a pocket-sized Android TV with this you can use over 5000 Android TV apps anytime and anywhere lots already and don't worry there's been a garage of new devices in this space and I'm here to break it all down for you so today I
'll explain what the Rocket Station does and share my first impression thanks to Rocket for supporting the channel today by partnering with us and I'm Cass I hope you're doing well come for VR and stay to explore what lies Beyond reality now before we get into the pros and cons of the Rocket Station let's roll back a sec you may wonder what is Android TV it's essentially Google's Smart TV OS think of it like Android but for your TV sound bars and more with the Rocket Station you are plugging int
o Android TV 12. giving your rocket Max glasses a dashboard like this the best part is that you get instant access to the already established Google Play Store so Gamers you can leap into cloud gaming with apps like steam link Moonlight game streaming and Nvidia GeForce now binge Watchers can Rejoice HTTP support means your faves on Disney Plus or others like HBO Max are a go and the multitaskers connect a Bluetooth keyboard and just set for some on-the-go productivity plus with over 5000 apps i
n the Play Store there is plenty to explore I recommend Googling Android TV apps to discover what's available and to see if there's anything that you would use since this OS is backed by Google you also get access to Signature Google features the station packs Google Assistant allowing you to voice commands or a query degrees while it's not quite a chat GPT level I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with it furthermore the station doubles as a Chromecast so if you have a compatible device you can
cast screens wirelessly to your rocket Max glasses whether it's YouTube Google Chrome Pages or even for fun I tried casting my quest to a headset and it worked like a charm I appreciate this OS it's Sleek minimal and fuss-free the kind of UI I prefer I'm not a fan of random apps clogging up the space I like my os's clean and straightforward echoing why I favor phones like the Google pixel over the more cluttered Alternatives but I digress enough Google talk let's talk about the design before we
head to my first impressions the Rocket Station is Sleek and functional you use physical buttons to navigate through the OS here's a quick rundown on top there are directional buttons for up down left right a confirmation button to select items and Below there's a back key for retracing steps a home button to swiftly return to the main screen and apps key to quickly access your list of applications and a settings button to tweak and tailor your experience on the left you have volume bonds to ad
just audio levels and on the right a power key and at the bottom a micro HDMI port facilitating display outs capabilities and a USBC Port designated for charging alongside you'll find both a status and battery indicator to keep you informed of the device's condition in addition rocket provides a remote in the Box this remote mirrors many of the station's buttons but comes with an added bonus a dedicated button to summon Google Assistant that's the layout now let's lay out the pros and cons of th
e user experience starting with what the Rocket Station gets right Independence and portability with the station the Rogan Max glasses shattered dependency on external devices before you were limited by compatibility issues if you had a device that didn't gel well with the glasses it was a no-go now with the station in tow it's like giving rings to your rocket Max glasses because you can do a lot with just this setup and Cinema on the go imagine having a cinema that fits in your backpack that's
precisely what this combo offers whether you're at the park on a train or simply lounging at home you've got a cinematic experience right here and if you're outdoors and the sun's glare is too harsh there are covers you can easily snap onto the glasses problem solved then simultaneously charge and play this one's a biggie for me the station allows you to juice up while still being engrossed in your movie or game no more interruptions because of low battery and the station actually has a 5 000 mi
lliampere per hour built-in battery on a full charge you can expect around 5 hours of play time it's also not just an accessory for your glasses because the station can double up as a power bank lastly there's offline playback and 3D support if you don't want to rely on your internet you can import your favorite videos and watch them offline here's the cherry on top the glasses are 3D compatible so in essence you're not just getting a cinema you're getting a 3D cinema now no device is perfect so
let's dive into areas where rocket could potentially up its game Netflix users will have to wait we'll get this on its way to securing a certificate to enable Netflix support they've promised to keep us updated on this front and yes this setup boasts portability but remember you will need Wi-Fi to get the best out of most apps I was also hoping to see features like hot stabilization unfortunately it's still missing fingers crossed that rocket will consider it in future updates there's also no o
ption to use device with three degrees of freedom tracking the lack of three Dove means you can't pin screens anywhere in your environment and that's a virtual screen follows your eyes wherever you look again I hope this is on roku's radar for the future lastly being Android based it's no surprise but it's worth noting Apple's air casting is off the table but the Rocket Station is an interesting device it might cater to a niche though but it does start effectively it's perfect for those who've h
ad their eye on the rokin max glasses but lacked a compatible device or simply didn't fancy the idea of looking around external devices I can see a clear use case where you might not want to watch movies using your own device to preserve battery like when you're on a long flight so you can just use the Station instead if you think about it it is a pretty cheap phone alternative you can pre-order the Rocket Station until August 31st for wild 29 after which it will retail at 139 you can also get t
he station and Max bundle at a pre-order price of 529 which will be 550 eventually I'll put the link below so what's your take on the Rocket Station would this be a device you'd integrate into your Tech Arsenal sound off in the comments below now if you're still on the fence about video glasses in general you may want to watch this video right here that I've linked and appreciate you tuning in if you found this insightful drop a like if you didn't drop a dislike and if you're hungry for more hit

@CasandChary

What do you think of the portable Android TV experience? ►Check out the Rokid Max & Station here: https://bit.ly/3qCfOPI and get $20 OFF.

@breeckthon5144

500+? I could get an quest 3 for that. But I would love to try one out 😅

@landonewts

Interesting technology. A Rokid system isn’t in the budget for me, but I love your coverage! Thanks for the great breakdown of what it is and what it can do.

@ronm6585

Looks pretty good. Thanks C & C.

@Kumodot

Designers really need to pair up with engineers to make those glass to sit a bit lower on face. This way it always looks weird way up on our eyebrows. Sure this is not a prior since this is not for public use, but it should be a way to make it look less awkward. All small glasses are positioned way too high and I understand why (mirror x screen position, etc...) but hope they make it look better with time.

@oatbear8243

Can I also directly plug them into a pc or console?

@EhCloserLook

Thanks for making this video, Cas and Chary! I preordered my Rokid Max glasses back in April. So I’ve had the glasses now for a few months. Granted, I moved during that time, and I haven’t used them since the move. I’ve been waiting for more info on this device ever since I saw a prototype of it on another YouTube channel. Now I just gotta figure whether or not it will be worth it for me as an iPhone user!

@silenthashassin8912

This is pretty cool, especially since you can not only use various video-streaming apps but the fact Steam-Link works is very thoughtful of them. I don't personally plan on getting once since I don't watch much tv/shows but this is a great gift for several ppl I know.

@brunoyuji9203

It'd be cool to see a comparison between Rokid, XReal and Viture from you guys. I'm considering getting one of these glasses but I really don't know which one makes sense for different use cases.

@knight_____________

So much cool tech coming out. I definitely need the ability to pin screens in the 3d space, drives me nuts otherwise.

@lylenum

Thanks for the video. I have an Nvidia Shield Pro so I'm quite familiar with the Android TV app, which is really nice. Really interested in grabbing this due to that. However, the no 3dof is quite a setbeck so I will probably wait. How often do you find yourself using the glasses?

@JonathanOber

Are there lens inserts for people with glasses for the Rokid Max? I think this is the one thing holding me off from any AR glasses as my vision isn't great with astigmatism that seems to be getting worse.

@danielbarona8750

Hi great video, no days what do you think is the best AR device for gaming on the go for anyone that uses glasses everyday

@edhanson4082

Can you use them with low / no lights?

@maikwerner7325

how does it compare to the Xreal Air and that bundle? It seems the Rokid has a slight advantage because of Android TV, but Xreal is competable with consoles and HDMI input. What are your thoughts?

@AlexBGamesONLINE

Does it work with the xreal airs?

@Snaphoo

I can’t wait til you are able to talk about Lynx R1 again! Its the only new HMD I’ll be getting in the near future (ordered it ages ago) or doing this kind of stuff with😂

@MaggieKB

Well done video. Better explained than others that I have seen. I have had the Rokid Max glasses for several months now and really like them. It took a while to get used to the screen moving with my head and the pulsing from my heartbeat. The pulsing goes away after a few minutes of wearing for me. I use mine connected to a PC laptop and also to gaming consoles like an Xbox 360 that I resurrected for this purpose. I was waiting for this Station device but that it does not have the stabilization or 3DOF are deal killers. I do understand though that to incorporate these features would lower the resolution which may be the reason that Rokid does not offer the features in this generation of glasses.

@arl860

hi can this rokid station can installed netflix any issue of playing the videos

@zombos22222

is the control also working in the global version for discord? the chinese version only works for some apps but the cursor is not working in discord,chrome and so on... by the way the chinese version can be switched to english language and has a 3dof mode so you can pin the screen in your room.
