we're back now with Maddie Anthony from Emerald Habitat for Humanity thanks for coming and joining us this morning oh thank you for having me I'm excited to be here yeah we're glad to have you here so of course you know we always love to hear about you know what's happening with Habitat for Humanity all the great work and projects that yall do and everything but youall have this great event coming up that you want the community get involved and help kind of benefit Habitat for Humanity and have
a lot of fun within the process right we do yes we are having our second annual pickle ball bash coming up uh May 4th at the amarelo national tennis center uh we're going to have a great day we're going to have good bags for every player we're going to have lunch provided um a few adult beverages uh just a good time of play and uh supporting our community yeah I mean it sounds like a fun time for sure I mean of course you know everybody loves pickle ball these days seems like it's everywhere eve
rywhere so it's going to be a lot of fun A lot of people are going to want to sign up and get involved with it but for maybe people who don't know of course you know what that money is going towards with Habitat for Humanity what can you kind of tell us a little bit about where that money is going to go into our community yeah absolutely so it's going to be going right towards our home ownership programs so our homeowners go through financial literacy courses so that money will be going towards
their curriculum it'll be going towards construction cost for actual builds soft cost um such as permits Blueprints and um yeah just just that kind of stuff yes they a good thing to support for sure thank you so how important is it that the community does come out and and help yall out and show up and support y'all well this is our um only signature event we have so truly other than straight donations this is our biggest way to raise money right now other than our restore we have our restore tha
t is our biggest fundraiser it's located at 2626 Paramount it's a a resale store and proceeds from that also support our our mission as well absolutely so how much is it to participate with pickle ball where can people go to sign up all that stuff yes so until uh April 4th we actually have early bird sign up so people are getting a discounted rate right now so if you go online to our website uh amoh habitat.org our team registration it's a doubles tournament so for both players during our early
bird registration $80 and once that ends it'll be $100 per team okay and then how far does the registration go you know maybe they miss the early bird but they still have still got a lot of time until May 4th how how long does a registration go and until we sell out so our goal is 40 teams we do have a limited spot so um don't wait sign up today so and then tell us us a little bit about you know I mean are there going to be like divisions because I know if I show up I mean am I going to be getti
ng pitted against like professionals right off the bat not at all no so we will have two divisions we've got our competitive for those DieHard pickle ball th not me I don't think I'm good enough for the same no and then we do have our social division so that's just for fun um yeah yeah couple of choices G to be a little bit of something for everyone so it sounds like a good time I mean good news is you got all the way until May 4th so get that calendar Circle but if you get there before April 4t
h that's next you've got a chance save a little of money in the process that's right yes I like that it's social and not like the people who don't know what they're doing over here and you have time to learn yes just come have fun absolutely tell us a little bit about and then also real quick where it's going to be yes so uh amarello national tennis center located at 5,000 southbell I believe just in front of John Stiff Park sounds easy enough to find it sounds like a good time thanks for coming
and talking to us thank you so much oh and then where can people go to get more information about y'all oh yes um Facebook we're all over social media uh amarello habitat and also our website amarel habitat.org
