Oh boi.. You guys really want to jump into this rabbit hole don't you? Hey guys whats up Aru! Don't mind how I speak right now, I'm a bit sick of all the Abyssiness. Y’know as much as I wanna talk about the Sinner’s voice and who it might be, I was more scared of how over the top I could make this theory. Considering we just met this “thing” and he's already getting all cozy with our heads & hearts. Sheesh talk about Rizz amiright? But yes, welcome to another video of a guy who speaks to a rock.
In this video we’ll be talking about The Sinner. That's it, that's all we are gonna talk about because, there's so many things he could be, and so much he could be doing behind the scenes. Timestamps of course in the description and the comments, let's go. So here's a little primer for the insanity I’ve accumulated since 3.5 was released. The entity known as The Voice in the Head gives off this very ominous and sinister aura. Yet to beings with less knowledge of the world, as well as less menta
l fortitude; it is a calming aura that instantly makes you at peace, and that it gives a sense of joy, or awe. Or maybe even, a sense of security knowing that someone or something is watching over them, and protecting them. Something I find interesting is that the sense of peace goes straight to the individual’s heart or in short, focuses on their emotions. Being at peace with the heart and peace of mind usually go in tandem, and peace of heart can't really be achieved without first peace of min
d. Because can you really have a peaceful heart when your mind is still busy with its endless conflicts? Your mind first needs to be lifted from the problems you are thinking about, and considering Clothar’s situation with Caribert, and especially Khaenriah. He can't really be in peace of heart any time soon. But after seeing the Shard, right away his heart was at peace. Even though his mind was busy thinking of Caribert, what happened 500 years ago, plus hes got a mental debuff known as immorta
lity, and the erosion-like side effects of being immortal has more than done enough to him. At that point he’s teetering between sanity & insanity, so in essence he can't be reasoned with. And we were really lucky that we even struck a proper conversation with him in the first place. But the moment we got to the shard, he was at peace, he also felt the need to completely prostrate himself to the Shard right away. Dare I say, completely nullifying the idea that the people of Khaenriah don't worsh
ip any gods. An entity that can immediately take control of one’s heart regardless of their state of mind and what ideals they stand for is borderline broken. “He” can basically control anyone with a big enough desire, and use that desire to manipulate them almost completely. The Voice’s dialogue about Fear of the Unknown and Coveted power, not only applies to the power of fate & the abyss, but also the power of desire and its potential. This is something I didn't go over in my previous video, s
ince abyss and fate are pretty much dead giveaways to show how powerful He already is. But the ability to bend people’s will by manipulating their hearts is not only a powerful deceptive ability. But because you're using their own desire against them, basically their hearts. They’re more inclined to follow your orders because they’ve already given in to their emotions, their feelings, their hearts. And because they gave into their hearts, “he” is now free to manipulate those hearts. The Sinner t
o me is a malevolent being that can appear anywhere and at any time, and easily interact with those that it deems worthy of his favour. Bear in mind the Sinner doesnt really need to be there physically unless it has to. Similar to the Mysterious voice and Nahida in Golden Apple. Something as powerful as the Sinner can easily get into people’s head through whatever they can. He manifests himself to Clothar, and our sibling. But I think he wanted to manifest himself to Clothar objectively. Our sib
ling being there may simply be fate, and is now siding with the Abyss for that reason. But I think that this was the perfect time for the Sinner to target both our sibling and Clothar simultaneously. As well as needing to show himself physically, if you believe that this is his physical form which I highly doubt. Having someone so desperate as to lose their kingdom, as well as having to deal with people whose obedience lies with the Seven. As well as an outlander who has fallen into a world that
they, bear in mind, have no ties to, and is sent there by an unknown god. Honestly, he couldn't ask for a better catalyst for spreading the Abyss to everyone in Teyvat. Now, appearing in Sumeru of all places can be explained by the speculation that Khaenriah is near Sumeru, as mentioned by Kaeya. But if you think about it, the Sinner can go to nearly any region he wishes. As someone who just disappears and appears in the domain of fate’s end. He can basically carry that domain and pop into any
location he chooses. Now why don't we look into a few things that the Sinner might have a hand in doing. It's hard to make sense of why he is a sinner and what his sin could be. As well as how the heck he has not been found out by the Seven, or Celestia yet. But we do have other areas of the game that mention sins, as well as calming/sinister auras, and finally other possible instances of the Sinner being worshipped, without them knowing. And even though these instances can be entirely other dei
ties or gods, the thought that it might have been the Sinner is just really intriguing but really concerning to me. Abbas Let's start with Abbas, Abbas' journey finding his way through the dark cavern he escaped to could be one instance. Now we already have assumptions that Abbas’ god is the King Deshret, but he never really says it was King Deshret himself, nor did he say that it was one of the Seven, or the Sinner. It was mentioned that he could hear the voice of god, and he etched whatever he
heard. But, it was implied in the notes of the doctor, likely Dottore; that Abbas hearing the voice of god was related to the resonant quakes in the dunes. To my understanding, this is one hell of a reach and a pretty dumb reach at that. The only quakes in the desert are paired with the sandstorms, which was the result of Irminsul being affected by the withering, in turn the result of exposure to Forbidden knowledge & Eleazar. But it was claimed by the doctor that his symptoms were completely r
emoved. Whether or not this was Eleazar I can't say, because Abbas still talks about Eleazar while he was escaping, as well as also exhibiting the mental instability that was present on the previous specimens before him. Leading me to think that maybe the physical effects of Eleazar were removed, but the mental effects of exposure to Forbidden knowledge itself was still present. And what comes with Forbidden knowledge and the Withering? That's right, the Abyss! Abbas was also awfully losing all
hope for the gods as well. He was in despair, and possibly a bit angry at his own situation. But he kept on searching for something to answer his empty prayers. A salvation of sorts or a miracle that can save him, and forgive him for the sins that he and his people did. He later wrote that “god forgives all '' after digging his way out of the cavern. Now, it could be possible this prayer was heard by the Sinner too. Since the Sinner seems to target those in despair and anger, as well as giving i
n to their emotions. seeking a god, or salvation. And considering the Chasm is so close to Sumeru, as well as being the same location of fate's end domain. And there's also that hole speculated as Khaenriah’s entrance. Not only that, the Sinner has the power to see and hear everything, Even history & memories aren't an obstacle to him; he can easily find Abbas in the desert. But that's only IF it was the Sinner that Abbas was hearing and not King Deshret or The Dendro Archon or his own thoughts.
Since the Abyss is so closely tied to Forbidden knowledge, I'm more convinced that Abbas was hearing the Sinner mistaken as King Deshret the entire time. Which is very terrifying, especially for anyone who thinks they are hearing the voice of god. Tatarigami and Karma We all know that Tatarigami comes from the Orobashi, but the same can be said for any other god or deities that die. This is also apparent in the form of Karma, a phantom wrath of slain gods that drives people insane, spawns monst
ers, and creates plagues. This same Karma seeped into the Yaksha which drove them mad. What if Karma, and Tatarigami which are essentially dead god energy all leak into Teyvat from one place. a place riddled with all the wrath, anger and everything that can corrupt The land of Teyvat? A dark current of sorts that flows in a realm different from Humans and Elemental beings. Well, we already have one, aptly named the Void Realm. And it's where the Abyss comes from, the same abyss that corrupts and
harms anyone from the Light and Human Realm. And any being, or god that falls or succumbs to an untimely demise ends up in this Realm. This to me is the same corruptive force that ate away at the Yaksha and also corrupted some people of Yashiori Island as well as Narukami Island. Remember what happened with Kitsune Saigu and Mikoshi Chiyo? The beast of Sin and the Dark will? That could be the Sinner. And if one god’s corruptive force can corrupt a Yaksha that is aware of the curse welling up in
side them. A normal being can only think of it as mere hallucinations, or a presence watching and hearing them, or maybe even gods speaking to them. Tatarigami Washizu’’s prayers & his hidden world quest is about the spirit dwelling inside the small temple next to him. He starts by stating things like, words of tongue are too loud, and words of heart are better. Followed by mentioning a being simply called “he” and “him”. Now, a lot of us already know that this is the remnant phenomena left by O
robashi, Tatarigami. Many other quest items about Yashiori Island also state the same phenomena as the culprit. And is especially descriptive of Washizu's prayers. What with his own descriptions of his “god” being very snake-like. And that those who run from this god can't hide. But something I find weird is Washizu who isn't on the side of Watatsumi, calling them fools. Even though Watatsumi basically worship the same deity. Finally the distinct lack of elemental energy, which is pointed out by
the traveller. Now whether or not the Orobashi is an elemental being or a creature from the abyss, we cant say but its worth taking note. This is where the crazy starts, because Washizu is very adamant about the god. He hears and sees everything, he focuses on words from the heart, requires constant worshipping, desires being a main motivation for Washizu. The near zealous behaviour is akin to what Clothar exhibits after coming into contact with the Sinner. Even so far as having sinned and aski
ng that his sins be forgiven. Finally ending with us having to kill him for wanting us sacrificed, and him wanting to be saved. At the end of his quest, we end up hearing a voice warning us of Washizu. Whether or not this is the Tatarigami or some other entity we can't say. But to me, the entity interacting with Washizu is not the same as the one who warned us. The Tatarigami has also been affecting other people within Yashiori, Chouji noticing a calming presence while he is in Yashiori Island,
watching and protecting them. He says that it was the Raiden Shodun but contrasts her oppression over the land to the calming and protective presence in Yashiori Island. One of the villagers, Shingo, also claimed to hear the word of god. A team that was sent to investigate the Tataragami ending up in Fort Mumei also mention the same symptoms. This little handy notepad in Fort Mumei mentions another “he” along with a so-called unknown world. Possibly pertaining to the Fort itself. The most intere
sting character is Chouji’s mother, who to my understanding displayed so much anger after the death of his husband that it pleased the god that Washizu and Shingo worshipped. Washizu even references a Kitsune Demon. Which I can only think it was Kitsune Saigu escaping the dark will. This is something that neither Washizu nor Orobashi should know about, because that conversation is only between the “dark will” which was the Abyss’s will and the Kitsune Saigu. Bargaining her memory to be left in T
eyvat while her body be taken by the will of the Abyss. Orobashi or Washizu doesn't know about, nor has the orobashi ever come anywhere close to Kitsune Saigu or Narukami Island. Finally the quack Pharmacist Yasumoto says that the Tataragami flows freely through her. Which could be why “he” wants Chouji’s mother so much. Anger and despair are both characteristics displayed by Clothar, and Abbas. The same goes for every individual in Yashiori, especially Higi village. As well as search for Salvat
ion that every one of them yearn for. Yasumoto and his medicinal tasks, Chouji and her mother thinking the father is still alive, as well as the Tatarigami one day being lifted. Finally Washizu and his role as chief of Higi Village. Everyone in Yashiori displays the same signs of despair, anger and longing for salvation. Now I know this is more than likely the Orobashi’s curse manifesting in Yashiori, no it is the Orobashi. It's been told, it's been said, It's been mentioned time and time again.
which is why I wanted to make this a crazy crack theory. What if there's another serpent, a serpent that is the manifestation of the death of all things, what if there's a serpent that is the embodiment of all Tatarigami, what if there's a serpent that manifests all forms of Karma. What if the dark will which is the amalgamation of all death, happened to be a serpent. Its crazy and dumb I know but this is where I think genshin’s plot is going. There's another character that also displayed these
same characteristics which might have pleased “him”. And we can find her all the way to before the game was even released, in the Genshin Manga. Collei Collei and her less than enjoyable story in the Manga, is about her trying to control her involuntarily obtained power. She was injected with a substance called Archon Reagent or Archon Residue. Which is the remains of a fallen god, made into a substance used by the Fatui. And she displays her use of this power pretty well I must say. Barnabas c
alls this power obtained by Collei as favour of their god. Now back to Collei, her power manifests in the form of a serpent, a serpent who calls himself a god & calling her a vessel. This serpent I can only assume is the god that Barnabas is talking about. Funnily enough the chapter of which this all happens is called “The Serpent’s Dance”. The serpent entity also whispers into Collei’s head similar to all the other instances I’ve mentioned. Droning on Collei, and telling her what to do. As well
as telling her to give in to her emotions, with a bit of revenge sprinkled in. Barnabas transforms into what I can only call a beast of sin, what with the Lion-like body, and snake-like head. Which could be a variation of the beast of sin, & since we're talking about the abyss, a beast of sin could be anything.The Serpent inside Collei, Barnaba’s god, the Tatarigami in Inazuma, the Karma in Liyue, heck even Dvalin’s Abyss rock that was stuck into his body. We can assume that this was from any o
ld random fallen god, a Seelie. But I’d like to think this was something that has been in the game for a while now, and we were always told about it every 40 days. Something that reveals themselves and favours anyone who expresses a great amount of anger and despair. Something that favours anyone who gives in to their emotion, and those who long for salvation. This god being a serpent isn't far fetched either, since we know another serpent that isn't the Orobashi, and has been within the game si
nce its release, maybe even before its release. The Gnostic Serpent is to me one of the most anticipated yet unknown characters within Genshin. Not only because it was only mentioned in the Gnostic Chorus, but because the place it originates from, the Kingdom of Darkness is equally shrouded in mystery. We know about Khaenriah and the Abyss as much as we know about Timmie and why he has a Ruin guard. And every small nugget of info about them we try to put together, but there's still something mis
sing. The Sinner’s identity could very well be anyone. But the only reason I think it's the serpent is because if you think about it, the deepest and oldest sin is what this serpent did before it even deceived the first heir. Hence the kingdom of darkness already present in the Gnostic Chorus. And whatever it did to become this harbinger of the Abyss is the one thing that is worthy of being called a “Sinner”. And he himself proclaims it, he is not a god, he is a Sinner. And maybe that sin he did
long ago is to spread corruption, pestilence, filth, insanity, beasts of sin. To spread the Abyss is one and the same as spreading an incurable plague. And this plague, brings forth illusions, & breaks the shackles of the land. Illusions that only Celestia can cleanse. This “sin” that he has done is always being covered up by the gods. And those who unveil this sin are forced to be wiped out as a measure of fear that it might again spread. While he crawls into every crevice and seeps into every
gap that it can to spread its malignant illness. But we know virtually nothing about this serpent, or if “he” is even a serpent in physical form. Since Venti’s poems and ballads are allegories, we only know that there are 2 heirs, a kingdome of the ehavens, a kingdom of darkness, a genesis pearl, and this serpent that was never spoken about. In game, there's the twins, Celestia, The Archons, the Abyss & Khaenriah, The Fatui, the Old world, and now the Sinner. So this Sinner to me is this so-cal
led Serpent of the Abyss. He who committed the first sin, of spreading the plague of the Abyss. But we dont know who he is, Again, and many times asI can say, this is only speculation. But you guys might wanna brace for the future because not only are we getting closer to Khaenriah. We’re also finding more and more about the possible Origins, and the events that lead to the Fiasco that is Teyvat. But I’ve taken too much time already, and I think it's better if I let this first half be a vague sp
eculation, and to jog your mind as to who the Sinner might be. The next video will be decided on a poll which will include the continuation of this video but will focus more on a single entity. The Serpent of the Abyss. This video is already too long for an outro so do the like, do the comment, do the subscribe and the bell. & I’ll see you guys in the next video yea? stay mad theorist! BYEE!!

@Kasraken

I think the "Sinner" is the one who grants visions to humans, not the Archons or Celestia. He looks into peoples desire and uses it to manifest the visions for humans, giving them powers that when combined can challenge the gods!

@matrixfull

something is strange to me in last archon quest. why did we go protect "immortal" adult from monsters instead of protecting kid hilichurl ?

@HoloGaming

I also play Honkai impact, and this abyss power parallels honkai energy in so many ways. This sinner god might as well be the honkai god that Sirin meets, although this god didn't speak to her.

@roozeveltfox

so glad to see the 'Washizu twitter saga' explained in video form!!! but seriously, all jokes aside, I had totally forgotten about Abbas' 'voice of god' and I've been meaning to go back and re-examine some Yashirori story but you put it together SO nicely. When you said "what if there's another snek?" my brain immediately went to Ouroboros mentioned in Before Sun and Moon (and uhh Kaushik? on Watatsumi who swears there's two serpent gods). BUT then you went in this direction and my brain is melting (in a good way) I don't actually have anything meaningful to say but thank you for the lore-brain food nom nom nom

@LadyCorax

So many serpents, I keep thinking it's a honkai connection. Between Kevin, Gray Serpent, and Mobius, there are plenty of options. But in the end, that matters less than who they are in Teyvat, and so I am leaning... Yaldabaoth.

@RainaRahl

I like ashikais theory that the sinner is king deshret. I think it makes a lot of sense and aligns with the lore that we've been presented.

@infinitya4274

LORE THEORY (Forbidden Knowledge & 3.5 Archon Quest Mysterious Voice) I wonder if the voice belongs to the Horned Entity shown in the Dragonspine Mural that's depicted holding the symbol of Life (an atom) in its palm and portrayed almost as if bestowing the Kings in the mural with knowledge (forbidden knowledge) in exchange for their worship. I believe that entity tempted rulers of ancient bygone kingdoms with the forbidden knowledge, while the mural depicts the 3rd king remaining loyal to Celestia as he is portrayed ordering his servants up the mountain towards Celestia carrying what appear to be offerings, while the other two kings hold their hands out receiving-ly towards the horned entity. The dark, horned creature in the Dragonspine mural has a significant symbol found on it that we see repetitively throughout Teyvat & the game (the pointed spiral symbol). This symbol is found on the creature's wings and shoulder. This symbol does hold an otherworldly origin because not only is it found on this entity, but on Azhdaha who Zhongli's story quest confirms is from below Teyvat/another world (like spiral abyss descends) as well as on many more Abyss creatures we find roaming all over Teyvat and it's an interesting design choice present in cutscenes relating to Zhongli's story who is noted as a "descender" (from another world in other words) in his lore information and the geo element symbol's design taking inspiration from this (just like all other element's symbols appear to be connected to their origins, ex: Anemo wings symbol connected to Venti/Goddess of Time & wind, hydro symbol is same symbol used for Vishaps & the Sangonomiya Crest related to Kokomi & the Enkanomiyans). I also don't believe it is Celestia that cursed the people of Khaenriah. We learned what happens to people who greed for forbidden knowledge, it not only drives them insane but takes away their humanity & changes them physically into monsters (in a Sumeru quest we ran across fatui research notes from long ago detailing human case study subjects slowly turning into monsters with symptoms eerily resembling hilichurl descriptions and the fatui were trying to understand the cause of the mysterious, always fatal ailment/how to cure it). We also further learn what happens to those who greed for forbidden knowledge with the ancient disaster that befell the Scarlet King's people. Forbidden knowledge IS what corrupts and curses those who greed for it, which connects back to the Gensis Pearl mentioned in BP cutscene with Gensis Pearl/forbidden knowledge & what befell the Dragonspine civilization portrayed in their mural. And guess who is cursed from greeding for knowledge/power of forbidden knowledge? Khaenriahns. I believe the cursed people of Khaenriah (and anyone who is exposed to forbidden knowledge) take the form of the entity that is the source of forbidden knowledge (the mural figure) as they share its horns (ex: large hilichurl or samachurl) and the exact same distinctive pointed spiral symbol I mentioned earlier is also found on the horns they drop, horns they use to construct their structure rooftops (also have this symbol), the smaller hilichurls wear horned masks, and the pointed spiral symbol is even found painted on the rooftops of the tents at Dadaupa Gorge in Mondstadt (& totem pole posts elsewhere), so they clearly worship this entity that is connected to forbidden knowledge. And who are they seen bowing to in the newest Archon quest? The mysterious male voice in the corrupted crystal scene that seems almost amused as it asks why they seek forbidden knowledge/power. Feels all too fitting and connected. I also believe every civilization Celestia has dropped a nail on (if the nail doesn't serve a different purpose) is due to this entity's doing relating to forbidden knowledge (bc don't forget the Dragonspine mural depicted several kings from ancient civilizations being tempted by the mysterious figure's knowledge receiving it and there are several ancient civilizations we know of that Celestia destroyed with their nails due to forbidden knowledge. likely the civilizations of the very same ancient kings depicted in the mural). It's also noted in lore that hilichurls existed even before Khaenriah (so even more ancient civilization's people cursed the same way sounds an awful lot like the other civilizations Khaenriah has destroyed due to forbidden knowledge problem). Hope you enjoyed this theory, I've been wanting to share it for months but haven't had the time to put it into words till now!!! I probably could've organized this better, I hope everything is easy to understand! One last thing, the very same symbol depicted in the palm of the mysterious entity could very well be another interpretation of/representation of the Gensis Pearl, if the Gensis Pearl is the source of forbidden knowledge. The entity could be the current holder of the Gensis Pearl in other words. I see why the Kingdom of the Heavens would want to get their hands on it as it rivals their power, hence connecting back to the BP cutscene further with the crown heir tasked with seeking out the Gensis Pearl who became corrupted prior to the 2nd heir's journey (who I believe is Aether vs. Lumine for several reasons but I'll only list the most obvious one bc it gets into too much, but there is more, ex: certain symbols present on traveler's clothing/character menu & they control the Omni element which is a combination of all elements and Omni ties back to the Omnipresent god statue in Inazuma/Celestia to put it extremely brief).

@Xxc3

Theory : Worship gives things that get wroshiped get stronger The ideals of archons i coud go deeper and explain more of anyone is intrested

@laur4a768

it could be second who came (second throne) because they wanted (or did) overthrow the Primordial one, which would be story like God and satan, satan is called serpent of old and wants to put his throne above Gods or the King Deshret (remains of him) as in cinematic after his sacrifice crystal appeared that looks like one of The Sinner, and that crystal is held by 6 chains, there is 6 cardinal sins established after fall of King Deshret

@alexfirth21_33

I play Honkai as well and I’m just 100% convinced these games are even more connected than what we’ve seen so far. Kevin Kaslana is sus. But ironically we’re talking about a sinner yet the archons are all named after demons…something is off about Teyvat.

@witchcandy3671

So I got a question. The ice herald we fought. If the abyss order was created by Clothar then the herald you'd think would come after he founded it but we just got shown they existed before the order was established. So my question is why has no one questioned that yet?

@buduralhariri

I like when someone think out of the box, this is an interesting theory I need to think more about it, thank you for your efforts 😍💜

@Rafael57YT

REALLY nice! I totally forgot about the kairagi guy in Inazuma. I'm not sure it could tie to the sinner directly, but the hipotesis makes sense

@noelampong330

i might've just missed this info, but if the people are cursed with immortality, people from other nations are hilichurls, then what are the Heralds and Lectors?

@TheREALSimagination

I thought the Abyss was a place more than anything, and I still do, but this guy is no less intriguing. Also, more acting for the Traveler, please.

@Zarozian

About time!

@amitosh3553

it seems that i've forgotten...but could someone tell me who abbas is

@oddityurie3435

He You know in the Bible, Leviathan may have a second name which is Rahab (not to be confused with woman with the same name) Leviathan/Rahab are often representations of the abyss and Chaos and it was said that it was God himself (Yahweh) slain the serpent to form the foundations of the world which the foundation may be the abyss.

@user-nu2vc9mp5j

I feel like the sinner is the remains of primordial one. Or the second who depends on which is the real god currently ruling. Suppose if primodial lost the war and 2nd who came pretense to be the primordial. Then the forbiden knoweldge is the sin = the truth of the world that the primordial one was actually defeated that no one suppose to know. But lets say if primordial was the one who actually won against the 2nd who came. Then the 2nd who came could be the sinner. As stated in game the victorious gets to shape the world and rewrites history as they deem fit.

@pyton6856

Could it be the second descender?
