I want energy. I want people participating. I want a honey. I want a Big Mac if you're going out. Please. Okay, anyway, I'm sorr
y about that. I'm all over the place for those of you who don't know me. My name is Alfredo Torres. I am the vice president of vets to industry. Yes, I am the one who makes Brian all nervous. When he has me hosting these things and, he's got me hosting it today. And I know he's scared. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to give him a reason to be scared because, That's what I do. Okay, so. We're gonna start at 205. So you got 3 min while we let more people in if you need to go to the bathroom
go do it now if you need to get some a big Glass of vodka like I have, do that. Water, water. Just stop water. What are you saying? You saying I can't handle my drinking? Put it love and get, no, no, it's. Got it. We gotta all be hydrated, you know, so we can. So we can network. It's certain will certainly would explain that energy level. It's a Yeah, it's it's 7 up. And. And. Let me, let me show you. But for now, anyways. Let me show you how sad, how sad I am is I tried to sound like a big shot
. It's 0 sugar 7 up. That's healthy. There you go. Oh, healthy. I'm a fat ass. You kidding me with this healthy thing? Okay, we got 2 min before it all starts people For those of you who are new here. This is gonna be awesome. It's a networking event networking means that you have to talk and you are gonna get put in a room all with a group of people and you're gonna have to do an elevator pitch. We'll talk more about that later, but I want to get you people kind of ready for it, pumped up and.
Yeah, cause that's gonna be recruited here. And these recruiters going to look at you. And if you don't have energy, they're not going to want to reach out to you. Okay, but if you've got energy and you've got passion, you show that you're interested in them Man, this thing could be life changing. It's been life changing in the past for people. And it will be life changing today and in the future. And we want it. Be life-changing for you. So we got one more minute before we get a, we're gonna ki
ck all this off with our keynote speaker. And then we're gonna have some words from our sponsor. And then the fun begin. Not that, you know what? Let me take that back. The fun begins. When our speaker starts talking. And that means that I get to shut up, which I already know half of you are like, yeah, afraid of just Don't worry about my self-esteem, please. Feel free to. We ready? Are we ready? Is everybody in? Alex? See, looks like we got a good, good crew in here. Okay, all right, so right b
efore We kick it off when I want everybody to do. Is to get into chat. And put your LinkedIn. your LinkedIn connection in there, all right? And I want everybody to everybody else to see if you're connected to that person and if you're not go out and connect to them. Okay, that's that's the beginning of your networking if you're not already connected, all right? This and that's what this is about. It's about connecting with other people, connecting with recruiters, connecting with educators, conn
ecting with each other. All right, so with all of that said and done, let me, send it over to Mike, Michael Lu, who's the CEO. I'm here. Of free fuse, a video learning platform. So Michael, are you with us? All right, well, why don't you take it away? Well, thank you for the introduction, Alfredo. I just want to say how much I appreciate you all for having me today. My name is Mike and as I'll Fredo mentioned I am one of the I'm the CEO and one of the co-founders of Free Fuse. And today the conv
ersation that I have is about the idea of lifelong learning. Now, In regards to lifelong learning, that doesn't necessarily have to be. A thing that we experience in a classroom. I look at it as a holistic approach to having a curiosity in life, right? And I believe that if we spend time with trying to be a lifelong learner will actually be able to develop some really good outcomes for ourselves in the business world, especially for folks who might be, you know, of course owning their own busine
sses. And maybe transitioning into the business world. I think that it's a really important aspect to think about. So, you know, if we wanted to define what lifelong learning is, it's not really about necessarily acquiring knowledge for the sake of knowledge. It's about embracing the continuous growth and adaptation mindset. And of course, we're talking about today's digital environment. There are so many rapidly changing things in our in various industries whether you're talking about AI or whe
ther you're talking about you know any kind of automations. Just generally you know kind of the trends of how people are moving farther and farther online it's really important to have this learners mentality. I like to call it a beginner's mentality to want to have that curiosity for growth. And you know from what I've always you know told our own team and what I advise other folks as well is that to mindset that we have to have in order for us to be successful in today's environment. So. You k
now for veterans I've seen you have already demonstrated immense adaptability, resilience, so lifelong learning is a pathway to translating your invaluable skills. Into successful business careers. And so for where I see this specifically for veterans, I think that You bring a unique set of skills to the business world. Leadership, teamwork. Discipline and the ability to perform under pressure. Those are just kind of the tips of the iceberg. But the transition to, you know, business outcomes can
, you know, sometimes be a little bit more challenging as well. And so recognizing and addressing challenges is always the first step to leveraging the strengths. In the new chapter of your left. So in terms of maybe some of those challenges. I've seen that sometimes in even in friends of mine, it can be difficult to find the relevance for your skills in sometimes a civilian workforce. And navigating a different organizational culture. But with those challenges comes opportunities. And support s
ystems, mentorship, and resources designed for veterans can turn these hurdles into stepping stones for your success. This is where lifelong learning really comes into play. It's really about bridging the gap between where you are. And where you want to be. And you know, whether you use platforms like you to me and Skillshare to just, you know, kind of work on some of those initial skills, whether you want to utilize something like a LinkedIn learning to be able to get certifications or whether
you utilize a platform like ours and join a community where you can adapt your skills, explore new opportunities, and continuously grow within the business landscape. These are all places that you know you should look upon to be able to grow your own skills and more importantly to develop the types of you know mindsets and ideas that you might want to in order to you know be successful in the business world. So, well, we, free fuse have done is that we've actually also helped, other veterans as
well who have actually built on free views. And I'd like to highlight one of the stories of those folks as well. So we recently actually went out to a video shoot with one of our users, we recently actually went out to a video shoot with one of our users, Brian Marin. We recently actually went out to a, video shoot with one of our users, Brian Merrin. He was, he's part of Arcadia Cagnarati and he's actually translated his skills from his time as a sniper scout to actually awareness in everyday s
ituations and he's turned that into a training program with his partner. Greg Willie. And so they are actually utilizing free fuse in a way to develop online material and utilize our scenario building capabilities to actually help people become more aware in various situations and make the right choices when necessary. So this is kind of a little bit of the interface. Just wanted to kind of, you know, pop that in here while we're on this talk. But we actually do have a commitment to veterans our
selves. You know, and of course, just to give you a little concept of what free fuse does, it's a choose your own adventure, meets video content for business outcomes, everything from learning and development, corporate training to, you know, kind of like a choose your own adventure marketing or, you know, sales. Thing as well. So those are kind of some of the use cases. But specifically for veterans, we actually have a 50% off discount for what we like to say is our commitment to you know helpi
ng you with your business outcomes and your growth so you know it's something that we're so excited to share and you know just something that we wanted to do as a way as a thank you for of course all of your service. And so, you know, in closing, I just wanted to. Invite all of you to join us on this mission. Of lifelong learning, building yourselves and having the growth mindset and whether you're navigating your own transition or building up your company or looking to support your fellow veter
ans. There's a place for you all in this lifelong learning journey. And so together with platforms hopefully like ours and of course this the VTI platform I believe we can forge a pathway for success. So I want to thank you for your service. The resilience and commitment to continuous growth. And I'd like to invite you to all embark on this journey together. Thank you. Thank, thank you so much Mike. If anybody has a question from Mike, raise your hand. I want to make sure that, you get your ques
tion answered by him. In the meantime, one of the things that I love about this lifelong learning thing. That the Mike was talking about is the fact that With lifelong learning, one of the things that comes along is your maturity. You're not throwing, you know, spit balls of people anymore or, or yanking on girls hair is trying to, you know, should they like, hey, what's up? No, what you're doing is you've got the mindset. To focus. You've got the maturity to realize I need to take this time. An
d learn stuff. We want to learn. At this point. So if anybody's got any questions. For Mike Please raise your hands. Anyone? Cause I mean Those of you who aren't sure This is the time to ask, okay? And this is. This is important for you guys. Okay, this isn't the place. To be quiet. This is the place for you guys to start learning to speak. Okay? And ask questions and don't worry about looking stupid. You're not gonna look, you're not gonna look dumber to me. Thoughts me. If you stick around, bu
t this whole thing I will show you what stupid looks like. In the meantime. Don't be scared to talk and to ask people. And I see David's got his hand up. So David, what do you got? I'm like, I see it in your background, but I wanted to know. Is, is that link the best place to learn more about your platform? Yes, that link is the best place to learn more about the platform. You're also more than welcome to, you know, reach out to me on LinkedIn. Happy to always have a conversation and I'll also p
ut my email in in the chat. So if any of you want to, you know, go ahead and, you know, reach out. I'm happy to have a conversation and, you know, happy to help in any way that I can. Thank you. Anybody else with a question? And thank you for asking that, David. Okay. Okay, won't see anybody else raising their hand. So, Mike, I really want to thank you. This really looks interesting and I don't know if we're connected. I'm not very, computer savvy. So if you can send me a request, I want to conn
ect with you and I do want to talk a little bit more about this with you. Sure. Well, thank you, Alfredo, and thank you, everybody. I appreciate the opportunity to keynote here. So hope you all have a great session here. Hey, and if you guys are too scared, Mike's gonna stick around for a little bit, I believe. So if you guys, little too shy what you're gonna have to get over that's just you know life and you end up in a room with Mike Make sure you talk to him. All right, don't be scared to rea
ch out. To him, ask him some questions and connect. Because that's what this is all about. It's all about connecting so that this way We can grow and we can get those jobs that we're looking for. So thank you. Next up, we have. Our sponsor for today and our sponsor is Pitchlink. And Tom will be speaking, for them. Tom. Hey Alfredo. Where are you? There you are. And David, please, you can lower your hand. So Tom, why don't you tell us a little bit about Pitchling, please? Yes, thank you, Alfredo.
It's great to be on another V 2 i event. So PANJA Sarker and the founder of Pitchlink and I are going to go through a short introduction to the platform. We're going to start with a pre recorded video that we're going to take you through an example of how I use this platform for a firefighters conference that I did a couple of weeks ago and. I think the recording makes more sense that way we hear the all the video and then we're gonna pop back and I'm gonna go through one of what I did with the
Fireflyer Conference so that you guys can visualize what you're gonna do, how you might use it in your own world. I mean, with your own business. So. Take it away, Oh, can't hear it. Oh. This is what we tested. I can't hear it. Yeah, I think he's on mute. I was gonna say, can you take yourself off mute? And try it. There it is, there it is. There it is. You have to make sure you share it with the sound. But when you when you do share a screen, make sure you, look at with sound. My, and I'm deli
ghted to meet with you all thanks to the amazing work that Brian is doing with B twoI and I'm delighted to meet with you all thanks to the amazing work that Brian is doing with BTI and our friends at stage who are working hard with Brian V 2 I team to realize their vision of assisting a million veterans. We are honored to help out on this initiative. We've been working with Brian and Stage since last summer. I'm here to introduce you to our sales and marketing platform, Pitchlink. Are you to rea
ch out and engage with new customers or for a new job? Which link is a platform that B 2 I will be using very soon. To reach out to you and all their stakeholders to communicate and educate individuals and groups. About the value of B 2 I. The online platform provides a seamless immersive experience for all. And we believe that each one of you can make use of this platform for your own business or simply to reach out to a prospective employer to tell your story. There's no better way to put your
best foot forward. Let's take a look at the platform and help you sign up for a free account. From there you will be invited to a v 2 i community workshop. To get you going with it. Now, coming up next is a quick introduction to Pitch link platform. We look forward to helping you out. Okay, cool. Okay, so what what we're gonna do is now go to the sample. This is what you would Assume you are a, receiver of one of these messages that on this platform. It's gonna come in through your email. You'r
e gonna send it out through email. And this is an example of this trade show that we did, and, that was at, It was a firefighters conference and I sent this communication out to the vendors that had boost there to educate them about what Pitch Lake was about. So just listen to this and we won't play this. We're gonna just gonna play each our piece quickly so we'll go through this. In the time effective way. I hope you're having a great time at the Lambton County Firefighters and 1 5 trade show a
nd meeting some exciting new people. I wanted to share this link with you for you to share it forward with your new friends. Pitch link as you are aware makes continued conversation a breeze for trade show booth visitors and powers outreach within the golden out of first contact. This link will showcase in less than 10 min the challenges of engagement and how simple it is to adapt to our platform to see your trade show ROI skyrocket. See all in the inside. So I had already sent an intro saying,
hey, thanks for meeting the at the conference. There was a video that was like the one I had put there first. We listened to and then Sabanja, it's like the one I put there first, we listen to. And then, IS quick response. Hey, thanks, thanks coming out. Now this video is, is tied in with the graphic and really where it and it's overlaid by my voice talking about it. Here is a quick overview of challenges we are dealing with when we participate in trade shows. Inability to qualify the customers
from mere visitors who come for the swag or freebies. Gap of 4 to 7 days for follow-up with those whom we identify as potentials with meaningful content and collaterals. Inability to share personalized messages at scale amongst many others. Okay, so basically now, so you're when you're receiving this email, you're just basically following the mounting ball clicking on that one, this one. We'll go through this one real quick as well. It's link can enable sales teams to engage with prospects withi
n the golden hour of contact at the booth. And overcome most of the challenges in the path from conversation at the trade show booth to qualification and follow-up engagement and finally. Conversion. And then we've, you can skip over this one, but this is just another explainer to this graphic so that it's not just sitting on its own as a graphic and people have to read the fine line, they can carry forward with that. Okay, now this is just telling giving it this is another slide we built into t
his just to give them the heads up of what they're gonna learn next which is an explainer video which is going to be a little longer. And we're not going to go into much of that detail, but this was an example of where we could put in. Explain what our software does and how they could use it. You don't, none of this, this is all created based on you curated to say what is the message you want to get across to to this persona. So if this is a military veteran or a civilian, you might have a diffe
rent storyline here and a different set of content. But here's one example here and we'll just, we'll click through to the next one. Okay, and this is the wrap up. We're just doing a call to action type, message here with this, this piece. You click on it. Okay, so that was that and now we're into we've actually got our website. This is the pitch link website for trade shows And you can see sort of how you can. You can embed the your website in here and they can without leaving this this interfa
ce they can actually look at the website as an example Okay, and then the next slide or the next, item. And so, and finally in this chain of information, I've got my candle calendarly, I think, so somebody could set up a meeting with me with my calendar. And then so they do that, they click. Time they want to meet with me. Great, excellent. Now that's booked without leaving this interface. Now the next piece will be tied into a quick questionnaire that that you can build into this. In this case,
it was a boat fire, fire safety, you know, vendors that how many trade shows they do. Types of questions that qualifying. You call, you have the ability to totally add what questions you think are valuable and you're gonna see on the link that we're sending and putting into the chat here a different link and a different communication, but there is a there are questions at the end of that one that ask you are you an individual looking for a job? Do you work for a company or do you run your run a
company? And then there are some questions that follow. So you'll see that, interface. And, so behind did you want to add, go to the next level? Yeah. I just wanted to say that we are very excited to invite all of you in Experity of what you are doing here, whether you are trying to build your business. Whether you are trying to. Do What you're doing at a job or you're looking for a job. All of you can use this platform to reach out to the prospect, tell your story in an immersive. Multimedia e
nvironment which is friction free. It's not a bunch of collateral that we are trying to push through a Google Drive or impersonal attachment to a male. This is something where you can put yourself, your your thoughts, line it up. Build the story and send it out and let people engage with you. So I'll put the link right now and maybe a couple of times I'll also request Alex to put it in through the sessions as they're going on. I I'll I'll encourage you to take a look at the link to experience wh
at I just you just saw something but we built the built a link for you so you can go through it and once you feel this is of use, you can sign up right from inside. There is a link right inside the flow like the flow you show you saw just now. You can you can go in and sign up for free and reach out to us like Tom mentioned, we would be conducting a community workshop for all of you and set you up so that you can immediately start benefiting from a much richer engagement with your prospect. Yeah
, and I think we're gonna coordinate that with stage to make sure that we've got a meeting room or 2 for depending on whether you're looking for a job or whether you're looking to grow your business. So. Thank you guys. Hope that was helpful for you guys and that will help you with your careers. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you guys. Wow. This is a game changer, people. If you were listening to this. And I hope you all were. If you got any questions. For either one of them, ple
ase raise your hands off because this is exciting. It's better if you guys, whether you're recruiters or whether you're recruitees. Yeah, this is something. That really could push you guys forward. In your searches for either for a job or for you know employees so Guys, raise your hands. Let's get some questions out here. Again, don't be shy. Yo. Yeah, Alfredo. I could just, make a point. This is Brian, and, for those you don't know, founder, president, investment industry. I've been using Pitch
Lake, about 3 months now for vets industry and setting it out. To different. Sponsors, digital sponsors and. And companies and is just an amazing product. The ability to videotape yourself. Inside of the app and then create other content that you want or upload commercials or if you wanted to upload your your bio or if you want to upload your resume you could do all this in just a sequence. That a recruiter or a business can literally just Click and start it and it's like a one big reel going a
cross. You could put anything on there you want. It's been amazing for us. If anyone wants to see a demo of the VET industry pitch link before you start doing your own, send a message to, to myself or to our events. At best industry.org and I will send you the pitch link that you can kind of see how it's crafted. And how it comes across. So, I just wanted to mention that and say, hey, this is really a great. Just them to utilize and nobody else is doing it. You said a pitch link to a perspective
employer. You know, when you're networking. You're gonna be light years ahead of anybody else even thinking about doing something like that. Yeah, you could be ahead of the class basically. I think what, but what really cool thing that I think is is valuable in this world, people that hesitate to download files because they don't know where they're coming from necessarily. And what this allows you to do is see all this content without the user or the viewer actually having to download anything.
Now they can download the content we've got on there but reality is they can follow the bouncing ball just view the stuff listen to the stuff and and they don't actually have to download anything. That's, that's amazing. And let me ask you this because with Mike, Lou here before. How do you think his platform? Would meld with yours because I think based on what what Mike said. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and setting up some stuff beforehand. And then pop it in right into to you guys. I think the. I m
ean, we're now like literally, Seanja and I did a webinar, a 3 h, how to use video for prospecting. We did that just before Christmas, I think. And, and that was fantastic. We had real, like, super experts and Mike, probably should have been on that session. And basically what we're what we're doing is how do we use video going for it's it's early. It's early days in in really leveraging video for B twob communications. I mean we see it all in TikTok and the B to C world but but leveraging it to
get into the business to business world and B to G is is is where we're at right now and I think both of us are yeah we can work together. He can help production of content and and and provide content that could be plugged into this. Yeah, there's lots of ways that gonna, and by the way, on, on my business connect for growth on the, on the front page of Connect for Growth. Calm is the the link to the recording of that leveraging video communication or video prospecting. That 3 h presentation or
event was recorded. And it's off my website connect for growth.com. I'll put that into the, yeah, I'll put that into the discussion here. You guys should be writing that down and making sure that you go visit that. Please. Yes, go ahead. I'll just make 2 quick points just to add to what what Tom said and what Mike Mike Session and what Mike had mentioned. So first to your point, I think what Mike is talking about when is talking of lifelong learning is how do you adapt to the changing environme
nt, especially the working environment and you stay up to date. Like lot of people talk to me about, oh, AI is going to replace sales people. So one thing one should know. Is that AI is still very far away. From being empathetic. Right? So that's one of the biggest strengths that we have as humans. So our ability to build relationships is not something I will be able to do very soon. Unless the AI is talking to another AI, which is fine. Is not going to talk to humans as humans. So if we if we f
ocus on the core that we have as humans, we are fine. But coming back to what Mike said, when you are sort of ensuring that you are in the cutting edge. You need to market that. And when you're you are at the cutting edge, you use Pitchling to market yourself. Yeah. So that's the connection that I see between you know free fuse and and and pitching. The other point I wanted to just point out just to add to what Tom said and and I'll end there. Is that I really believe that when we look at conten
t Content I'm in various forms, right? We have PowerPoints, we have docs, we have spreadsheets, we have images. Each of these have strengths. What you can do with the image, you can't do it the talk. What you can do with the video you can't do with a PowerPoint. The the whole idea of Pitchlink is that you use the definite format that you need to communicate something for that bit. So if that's why it's a string of elements that we build to build on narrative where PowerPoint works put a power po
int where a dog works put a dock where a video works put a video. I'm not saying video takes away all, takes over everything and you only do video. No video is where we want to connect as you ones. But the rest has to come in the form that is required. That's it. That's my 2 cents. Thanks for your time and friends. Yeah. No, no, that's that's a that's a great 2 sense. Let me see some hands raised if you got any question. Oh. Yeah. Yeah, hi. Yeah, I've been working with some of John and, Time for
quite a while with stage and stuff and they're passionate about helping people make this work. One of the things that you think about, well, how does it work for me and what, Tom does is in part why they did this is he goes to a lot of conferences and it's crazy you go to conference you either drop in a car or you're meeting people and you're going another booth. And the way Pitchlink works is you have an instant data transfer with the people at the conference. So, so if you're going to a job f
air, you know, what do you remember when you get there? You know, do you, you know, who did you see? Did you get a card and obviously Pitch link helps you, you know, put yourself on the pitch and then connect with those people and gather information as you're working the conference as opposed to going home and having a pocket. 20 packets full of cards and you start to follow up so it's it's a real front line engagement and that's the way I look at it is you know you as individuals looking for a
job. You know, this is just another marketing tool on top of, you know, your resume is that indeed it's on LinkedIn, it's on career builder, it's on all those sites but if someone doesn't find you it's just another It's it's another pit, you know, so you gotta I'm a professional recruiter and you gotta you gotta learn how to Your your LinkedIn profile is your personal brand whether you're selling a product or not it is you So you need to, you need to make that. Representative of you today. But a
lso where you want to go and build on that. You know, as you go from. 30 year old, 50 year old, the 70 year old, because it's still going to be you and you can either use it. And grow all your contacts and meet people that might hire you down the road or it's just it's just like Facebook Twitter and everything else if you're not using it today it's passed. You know, Charlie, you make a great point. With that cause I'll tell you what if any of you have ever been to conference with me you know I'm
all flying all over the place introducing people to other people. I can't imagine. I can't imagine. Yeah. No, no, for, for real. I'm not gonna lie about it. It's You would, honestly, you would think I was on cocaine and I'm not, I promise. Yeah. But I'm going back and forth back and forth, right? And I'm introducing a lot of people to a lot of people. Okay, with this. Picture this. I bring somebody, I bring somebody over to Tom, right? Tom has got 50 people around him. You do high? You hit your
instant data transfer. Tom says, hi, you go your way. Now when Tom is done with this. With this recruiting event now he could sit down. Instead of having to go through a stack of resumes the first thing he's going to do is go through all of these connections that he made. Here where he can see you He can, he's got time. He sit there with his cup of coffee. Watching what you were doing. And and and and all of your information, man. Tell me that's not going to make you stand out. Seriously. So, s
o I want you guys to take a look at, I'm gonna take a look at pitch. Pitchley. And, and reach out to him. I think it's the next step. I was early on with podcasting. And I got frustrated and, and, and I stopped and I had a pretty popular podcasts back in the day had I stuck it out Another 6 months. Literally another 6 months. I could have owned the world. And that's not a, and that's, that's not an exaggeration. Okay. I'm so with that being said. I wanna, I wanna thank our, I want to thank our s
peaker. And thank our sponsor. Please make sure that you guys check them out. And if you get in the room with any of them, Please talk to him. Okay? So what I need now is recruiters. Make sure you put your R in front of you, cause this is, this is where it gets good. Okay, not that that was a great what we had but this is where it gets good recruiters put an R in front of your name and raise your hand and I'm going to start calling on you. In the order that you guys raise your hand and Brian are
you there? Brian? Yes, sir. You beckon? Okay. Yeah, yeah, yes, I beckon. Thank you for coming. Can you, okay, now this is where you give your speech. Which I don't know and I would, you know, skip it, but I don't want you to start yelling at me for skipping your speech. So if you could give it, you know, the introduction and to put them whatever and you know. What you do, please. The welcome speech, the okay now we're yeah now we're gonna get to Which speed? Which speed? All the the one that I
have The one that I have saved on my notes on my iPad, which I don't have in front of me because I'm driving. You gave it, you've given that speech 47 times. You don't know it by heart yet? Yeah, absolutely. Hi. Just, just tell us, you know, what to do. Yeah, no, no worries. So for those of you who haven't, you know, knowing about this industry, this is like your first time coming to event and you take a is the networking event. We're actually much more. We started off as a resource library abou
t 5 years ago. And we have over 1,000 free resources on the website. Including scholarships and also sorts of different categories of financial help, shelter. All sorts of education. Just knowledge about professional development. There's so much on that you can't get through the whole website in one day. And that's a vet to industry.org. So if you haven't checked that out yet. It's it's helpful for service members that are still in Like you could get a free PTSD service animal while you're still
in the military. Through a bunch of different annual adoption places that will help train that service animal or train your your own pop to be a service animal. And we just don't know about all these resources while we're still serving in the military or when we get out because the DOD doesn't tell us about them along with TAP. They're, they're not allowed to tell us about a lot of, veteran service organizations. Now you're going to hear VSO a couple times. Now there is 2 different versions of
BSO. There's a veteran service organization. And a veteran service officer. Veterans Service officers handle disability claims. Veterans Service Organization handle some kind of subject area to assist in. A transition or career help or whatever the case may be. So, don't get those 2 if you see BSL, always look to see what context. It's in. I know it's a confusing point for a lot of people. And, yeah, we, We once COVID hit we started doing these virtual networking events, once a month. Where we b
ring recruiters from all over the country. You know, top name, Amazon, Facebook, we, North, Lockheed, Martin, Boeing, I mean, the list goes on. We bring them to hire or interview really in a sense. But connect and network with you so that they can find out if you're a good bit for their company So definitely take advantage of the time that you have with these recruiters and with the business owners. There's a lot of veteran advocates that are on this call they might not be direct recruiters but
they have networks We bring some of the top veteran advocates in the business on these calls. And some you know like Alfredo got a hundred 5,000 60,000 connection you think he knows one or 2 recruiters out there or a couple of companies that are looking for certain people and all different industries. Yeah, I got 24,000 followers so there's a connection to be made at this event. And, but it's gonna be your job to actually speak up. And be an advocate for yourself. And the key to this event is no
t that you become best friends with somebody off the bat. It's the follow-up. Now you meet as many people as you can in this call. Find out who you're interested in talking to afterwards. Right there name down while you're in the breakout rooms. And then try to make sure you exchange LinkedIn information in the breakout room. But just remember, in the breakout room, you cannot save. Or the text is not saved into our main chat transcripts. You have to actually save it yourself. While you're in th
e rooms or you lose that breakout room. Chat for good. So make sure you connect with each other. Follow up, try to get on a call with somebody set up informational interviews. If you don't know what an information interview is, I suggest in one of your breakout rooms you ask that question. Alright, I'm gonna shut up now and let the recruiters do that thing. Thank you, Alfredo. You see, Brian, you see Brian, you knew it. You were lying to me. I'm a cook. But that wasn't, that wasn't, you know. Ex
actly what I say, but close enough. It wasn't a It, it was good enough. It was good enough. Thanks, Brian. I appreciate it, Brian. Okay. Seriously. And Matthew, are you Matthew or Alex? Are you guys gonna be the ones who gonna set up the rooms? Already set up the rooms there. Of course you did, Matthew. If you guys don't know Matthew, you will understand that he has things. Chap top ready ready. I don't know what I apologize for even asking you, Matt. I should have known. That's because Oh, we d
idn't introduce Matthew. So, Matthew, we is the new director of events. For all of that sentence rate. So, you know, he's been a volunteer for a while, but he was just promoted. That spot and he will be running the events from here on out. Yes, and Matthew is efficient. He really, really is. And he's actually poisoning, positioning himself from my position. I see you, Matt. Anyway, let's get to the record. Let's get to the recruiters here and, my shipmate! But my my favorite baby sister is gonna
start us off Heather what you got Hey Alfredo, shit made of mine. Let me just say I'm super excited to be here today. My teammate Chris Safford's on board with me. I am looking for people that have this that business mindset that get out of the army and want we have a lot of veterans
in our company and they're willing to start their own business at almost no investment. We teach and educate them about everything, not just to become salespeople, but how to own a business where they can build a lot of, not just to become salespeople, but how to own a business where they can build a lot of, passive income in the so who am I looking for are basically people that are willing to learn and new skills up and people that are disciplined. And I know that veterans are one of the, I be
lieve the most disciplined people out there. So let's connect and see how can we help each other. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Oh, thank you. And she's right about discipline. I mean, look at me. I'm the epitome of discipline. So, yeah, make sure that you guys are reaching out, okay? And thank you for that. Brother Dean! What is going on, man? Hey, how are you doing Alfredo? I'm doing good. Why don't you tell us about what you got, please and thank you. Yeah, well thanks again and to t
he entire team and Brian for running this. Consecutively I mean, we're in the second month of this calendar year and there's many more that are to come. I'm D. Drummond. I am the manager of talent marketing for all of the Americas with an But I also wear the other hat and that hat leads me over here as being the head of military veteran. Talent at Adobe as well. And, you know, I put my LinkedIn. Connection. And I'll do so here again. What I do for veterans that reach out is, okay, you know, ment
or. Talk to you about why it's important to get. You know, your resumes tailored to specific jobs. But we go a little bit deeper into the, so really what you're looking for. Everything starts with what you want to do rather than, do you have something for me? Right? Because you don't you're not gonna have a lot of folks out there they're gonna look for something for you if you haven't been doing the looking for yourself. So, with all that, yeah, the Dopy is a big brand name. There's a lot of big
brand companies that come here. But I'm one that like to tell you to make sure that you're looking at everyone that is out there. From small business to medium sized business to large businesses out there, you would be surprised. On how many opportunities that there are when you look at everyone. Versus just looking at the few. You're really gonna miss out on a lot of great things. If you're breaking into certain skill sets. Sometimes getting into those startup companies and small mid-sized com
panies is great for a year or 2 and you can go where you want to be. But, look, I'm gonna leave it as that right now. See you on the first breakout room. Looking forward to some more the laughs from alfredo And so back to you, my friend. I appreciate that and yeah a lot of a lot of people tend to overlook small and mid-sized companies. But you got remember every big company started as a small company. Started somebody's basement, somebody's garage, and, and they blew up. So make sure that you gu
ys keep an eye open for those opportunities. And make sure that you go and and talk to Dean. About stuff where he's at. Thank you, brother. Get what you what's that hat say? I'm more I would. Hey, Alfredo, how are you doing? Oh, that's a That's retired master sergeant right there, Alfredo. Oh Jesus Christ. Jeez, why my So I want to I wanna first thank everybody for being on here. I really appreciate everything that you all do for the veteran community. Who am I looking for? I am looking for tech
nicians nationwide coast to coast. I am a HBAC recruiter for pivot workforce. We primarily work and and help out. Comfort Systems U.S.A. We work directly with them. We're the only, staffing firm that works with them. So we have jobs coast to coast for technicians, electricians, HVAC. Some of what I do look for control texts. I'm happy to say I had 35 placements in 2023. What and half of those were veterans that I found on a lot of the websites that I found on a lot of the websites that everybody
's already talked about here. So very passionate about here. So very passionate about helping, you know, servicemen and sites that everybody's already talked about here. So very passionate about helping, you know, servicemen and women in the HVAC field transition into that that role in the civilian world if that's what they want to continue to do. I do I do lose quite a bit of technicians to to go into the IT community. And but that's just part of the part of the thing. So, but, no, I love, I lo
ve what you guys do. I, I'm here to connect with people that want to get into, you know, stay into the H fact field. And, and like I said, we, we do a lot of work with veterans. I'm very passionate about veterans themselves and just and just one other note my my son is actually active duty Air Force he arrives in Charleston, South Carolina today his first duty station active duty so it's kind of weird that the times that I've decided to be on these events that I've decided to be on these events,
we had something life happening where he either graduated or he's headed off to tech school. So we had something life happening where he either graduated or he's headed off to tech school. So retired retired Air Force and keeping it in the family. And, he's headed off to tech school. So retired, retired Air Force and keeping it in the family. And Alfred That's awesome. Hey, I appreciate it, Gil. All right, Brian, settle down. You're driving. Air Force. I'm excited. Alright, yeah, that's why I'm
telling you to settle down. All right. Okay. Yes. Make sure that you're paying attention to the road and not chiming in here. Gil, thank you for that, man. And, Just to let people know, you know, these blue collar jobs that, that a lot of people are overlooking. Guess what? I haven't heard of any blue collar job that's laid off a hundred 50,000 people. Or or or 60,000 people. I'm just saying, okay, now I can't work for you, Gil, because I'm all jacked up at my age, but If I could, I most defini
tely would. Because the money is great. And they're not going anywhere. So just keep an eye out on that for those of you who are interested. Thanks. Alisa! Alyssa, how are you doing? Yeah, Alfredo. Hey, everyone. Now I know you got a lot to talk about. And. And. Yeah, so we we can we can separate it in different areas if you'd like go for you. I know Yes. Yes, yes, I would so we don't overwhelm everybody. And so they can, you know, so let's, hit us up with the recruiter. Yes, so minds kind of re
cruiters slash veteran spouse owned business. So, you know, it's it's a little bit of a little bit of both so I wrote a thing here because I need to read off of this. I'm sorry. So yes, so I, me and my husband, we started our own HR recruitment firm. And we, I had a lot I specifically had a lot of crew changes recently and so since starting this we have a lot of different roles that are going to be across the nation so we have different roles that are going to be across the nation. So we have di
fferent roles that are going to be in different kinds of industries. So we have different roles that are going to be in different kinds of industries. The industries are going to be in automotive chemicals. The industries are going to be in automotive, chemical, environmental, IT tech. Insurance nonprofit agencies there be things like that so I have a lot of different roles that you know I can you know help place people in. Of course I am definitely always you know veteran military, you know pri
ority for those in the community. And you know, in male spouses and best spouses as well. One of the things as well is I am a part of the nerd virgin and disability community. So that's my area and disability community. So that's my area and I'm very passionate about that area. So no matter who it is I really like you know helping companies, so that's my area and I'm very passionate about that area. So no matter who it is, I really like, you know, helping companies with tapping into the talent p
ool as well as implementing, you know, inclusive processes and strategies. And then on the candidate side, I really enjoy, you know, working with people that are also in those communities, to just feel more supported and how to navigate and be prepared for the interview process and getting on boarded all the way to the end. That's, that's incredible. It really is. And if you get in a breakout room, with the Elisa make sure that you ask her if you're interested in starting a business and or and a
lso with Kimberly and and also with Luita. Oh, I pronounced it right because I'm butcher names. But make sure that's if you're interested in that because all of these Ladies right now currently are taking chances on themselves. Okay? And, and that's an important thing because some people want to do that. So these these are ladies that can and I'm sure there's some guys here that can be mentors for you. When it comes to the entrepreneurial side. Okay. So, really, my, thing, Is, you know, kind, of
, on, both, sides, you know, i'm, open, to, Yes, I am definitely open to that is why I have learned a lot starting my own business and my house is very supportive and I just am really thankful for that and so I'd be happy to talk to anybody. There are so many things and so many layers to starting your own thing. And it's cool because my MBA is actually kind of helping me with this as well. So, but yeah, I'd love to talk to anybody about it. That's awesome. And thank you for that. We're going to
be hearing from Alyssa later on because she's got some other stuff that she's going to share with us. Laura! I'm gonna piggyback on the common entrepreneurial theme. I didn't know which letter to choose, so. I'm an entrepreneurial coach. I am not a veteran. My dad was in the Air Force and my uncles were Marine. I was the veteran now each contact for score San Diego. I created a Mill Spouse incubator program with 2 other people. And. Oh, and we did a fast track program for this group. V twoI like
3 or 4 years ago will chestnut and I, which we continue to end up teaching for score. To piggyback on what you may have learned in the boost to business program. So I'm all about entrepreneurship all the time. I've helped 70 people start successful businesses. If you're curious about it, give me a call. Oh! Those are in like, I have knowledge of hundreds of possibilities in 80 industries. Over the last 6 years I have created kind of a bias towards franchising. I am a franchise man. So that will
come out if you're if that bothers you. Just you know that will come out. Let's see here. Please connect with me on LinkedIn, Laura Rowe, entrepreneurial coach. I just saw some old profiles of mine popped up, so I'll have to get rid of those. Thank you. Like I said, my services are free. It does help you find a job. A lot of people talk to me in tandem with finding a job. But, I'd love to connect with you. Awesome. Thank you, Laura. Everybody she is phenomenal So, and William Chestnut did a v 2
i scores fast tracked it was a It was like a 5 series. Event that people could sign up for and go to all 5 like a course. And it was amazing. She knows how to start a business. And run it successfully and all the free resources that are there for you. If you have ever thought of running your own business or getting into it, she is somebody that you need to talk to you first. Awesome. Thank you for that, Brian. Look at Thanks, Graham. I love working with the veteran communities because I think v
eterans make the best. Entrepreneurs and number 2 picking back on what Gil said and Alfredo said. The 2 fastest most successful entrepreneurs like quickness ramps. One was in. They were one was in painting and one was in handyman services. Oh, I'm sorry. And one also was an electrical services. So for you people who are Like the trades, those are such a good business to go into. So I agree with what Gill and Alfredo said on that one. Yeah. Yeah, my youngest son is graduating and he's gonna be an
electrician. And I am so happy because I don't have to pay those college costs. Yay! For my kids! The other one's a truck driver. Another overlooked thing. But anyway, thank you for that. Robert! Are you ready for for your presentation or would you like to wait after the breakout rooms? Okay. Okay. No, I can go. I was doing other stuff. Hey, my name is Robert. I work for Honda Motor America. What I do is I help veterans, spouses and their dependence spine jobs nationwide. If you're interested,
I will drop my information in the chat. Please feel free to reach out. What I do is with Honda, we have a variety. We have basically 13 or 15 different company websites now and then so I can help you find the job at the dealership level or at the corporate level. We have everything from IT, cybersecurity, finance, aviation, drones. We have locations in Alabama, California, whatever. I used to tell people this if you don't want to visit a certain state. Just don't visit the websites and here's th
e reason why people will overlook say the Michigan site thinking oh, I don't want to go to Michigan. It's cold, but the Michigan location has jobs in California. The Alabama location have dropped only in Alabama, but then we have some other jobs where we open up a new facility. In Georgia right now. So the pain on what you're looking for, kind of direct traffic. Honestly, I don't care who you work for also. If you want to get a job, it's gonna be great. If you don't want to get a job with Sunday
and just wanna network that is fine too. I will email you a 67 page document of just contacts other companies. So for example, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed, Martin are not here today, I have their context on the Excel spreadsheet. The other thing is this, I'm very busy. I attend and I just know because I just did a survey yesterday. I attend an average of 200 plus events a year. Just me alone. Okay and in that I average anywhere from 350 to 400 hires a year. But listen, that's because w
e have a hundred 50 dealerships. So in my eyes, I'm a little bit low because every dealership should be higher. Okay, but 300, you know, I'm constantly talking to people. So if you want to, if you want help, you need to network, you just need job leads, let me know and I will direct traffic kind of get you. What you need, but you can't email me and say, hey Robert, I'm looking for a job, tell me where to put you. That doesn't work because I don't know you. Okay, it's easier for me for you to tel
l me what you're looking for and then I could find it from there. Thank you. Thanks Robert and and for those of you who don't know Robert he's going to send you a bunch of connections if you reach out to him. His connection is a no joke. Okay, and the amount that he has, and no joke. So, pull up a cup of coffee as you sit there and start reading through these connections and these, opportunities that he's presenting you with. Okay, and he said one very, very important thing. You don't know you.
None of these, these recruiters know you. And so you need to advocate for yourself. Okay, and what we're gonna do is we're gonna get you started on that. Advocating for yourself with our breakout rooms. So now, what we're going to do, this is the meat potatoes of, of these vets the industry. Networking events. It's the networking. We're going to put you in a room. With, there's gonna be at least one V 2 I. Volunteer and there's gonna be at least one recruiter in every room. And you're gonna do y
our 30 s elevator speech. Try to keep it as close to 30 s as possible. We want to make sure that everybody gets a chance to speak. And then. After you do your elevator speech. Now is your time to ask questions. Now is your time to not. Be scared. Okay, there is no stupid question. There really isn't, not when it comes to not, not when it comes. To finding your next career or to networking. And it's not only about careers, it's about services. It's a, it's, it's about all kinds of things that tha
t we never learned in the military. Cause we were too busy, launching planes or diving on submarines or or charging into battle. So we never had the chance to learn these things. So don't be scared to ask. So, Matthew put us in the room. If there's no V to I volunteer, then the person who has been to the most. a v to y networking events. You were in charge. You have been deputized. Okay, so Matthew, if you were ready, Matthew, are you ready? I'm ready. Okay, then Matthew, please send everybody t
o the room. Sorry, I was talking on mute. Paul, did you just get here? Hey, Matt, can you, yeah, can you put him back in, in a room? Matt. No, I got bounced out of my room. 1,003 and then I kinda Let. Yeah, sorry about that. Good to see you. I just move. Oh no, Okay, yeah, and, Matt, don't put me in a room. Okay. Leave me out here, case, you know, something happens. Scott, hello, sir. Scott. Okay, he's not talking right now. I'm alright Brian, what do you think it so far? I think it's been perfe
ct. Absolutely perfect. I don't know how many people showed up. Yeah, this is small numbers. Cool. We had a high of 53, I think, or 55. So, well, no, that, you know what? It's okay, man. You Trust me, it's okay. As long as as long as those people are getting value. Yeah, I guess. You know, because you could have 600 people. And if they're not getting value out of it. Then all you've had was 600 people. You know, but if you got 50, you know, 50 here, let's say. And and they're getting value and t
hey're making connections and people are hiring well then that's that's more important. Yeah, I know. I guess I'm just, you know. You know me. I know, I know, I get it. Scott, yeah, I know. Scott, are you there? Yes, sir. Alfredo? Hi, hey, I, I just parachuted in. I, I don't know what you folks have been talking about and I don't wanna take over a meeting. I apologize. Okay, so right now everybody is in a breakout room. Hey, Brian, Brian, do me a favor. Okay, can I actually add that we take off?
Yeah. Okay. I, for, basically. Can, can you mute yourself for a second? Thank you, sir. So Scott, everybody's in a breakout room right now. Okay. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna have you get thrown in there. And just kind of sit back and, and, and get a feel for it. Absolutely. People will be doing. People will be doing an elevator pit. So as you get in there, whoever's in charge of that room is going to probably give you. The opportunity to give an elevator pitch but after that you know, jus
t, sit back and get a feel for the flow. Okay. Yes. Yes, sir. Just I have just one quick question to make sure I'm in the right place. I'm on the side of I'm trying to find jobs for veterans. What? My fellow veterans. Is this mostly? Is this mostly veterans looking for jobs? It so your recruiter Well, we work with about 5 different recruiting firms. We're the sales marketing arm for recruiters. Awesome. Okay, yeah, so what we'll do, again, just go into the, into a room, just get a feel for what
everyone's doing. There's gonna be a recruiter in there who will talk. Sure. When when we come out of the breakout rooms, I'm gonna ask If there any recruiters who have not spoken. Raise your hand at that point. I'll be perfectly fine to just lurk and listen. Alfredo, thank you for inviting me. I'll just hang out throw me in whatever room you want. I'm just gonna listen and learn. Yeah. Yeah, okay, but again, we're gonna You'll learn quick. So I want to make sure that you get your chance to to p
lug. Who you were working for. There's a lot of veterans here and we want to make sure that they hear about you and your opportunities. Perfect. Yeah, sir, it's, it's, oh, I'm so glad you're here. We definitely would like you to give like a 30 s to 1 min about who who you are that you try to get other veterans hired and and who went. And, this is, this is a great opportunity for you to get a lot of people reaching out to you to find out more about what your companies are looking for and stuff li
ke that. So please, definitely after this breakout room, Please, please raise your hand and speak. This is what the events of all about. Awesome. Awesome. Perfectly fine. I'm never too busy to make new friends and God bless you for whatever you're doing to help veterans, you know, find their way home. Thank you. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you. Matt, put them in a room, please. Hello, Nicole. Sending him the room for Hello. What do you what's going on? Just shilling today. I'm not my kid. Oh, just
figure I'd talk in and say hi, eating a donut. Yeah. Huh. You got Oh, hi. Oh, Oh! Hey! You looking for a job? Yeah. He has enough jobs around here. Are you? . You're ready to pop into a room Yeah. No. No, no, no. Okay. Building these rooms are fun like I created. I just came by to say hi, that's really what it is. Oh, thank you. That's, am I going to see you tomorrow? In the coffee house. You know what? Oh, dude, I always try and I always forget like the link. And then you also gotta remember I
have a 9 month old. Okay, we'll bring the 9 months old too. Maybe they got something that they got you know they want to talk about It's not like I don't speak gibberish. Not. It's, I get it. Okay, it's not that. It's just nap times. I have literally 2 h windows right now. Yeah. I know. I, you know, I've been there and obviously you've been there before too so but you know whenever you get a chance we appreciate you stopping by thank you for stopping by here. Yeah, yeah, I That's why I haven't
been to the meetings. I've been doing like all the data and stuff like that behind the scenes. Huh. But I'm just like, I'm so busy. Weekends are. Family time and cleaning up this house and then trying to find the job is a lot harder. Yeah. Yeah, I get it. But you know what, we appreciate you. We appreciate what you do. Vice versa. Thank you for doing these and making it very comical and very fun to come. I tried to. Great to see you, the call. Who's saying that? Yeah, that's Brian. He's driving.
That's why. Oh, hi, Brian. Hi, Matthew. Yeah, that's I didn't say back from my daughter's. Down at, Atlanta. How'd she do, by the way? Nice! So we're heading home right now. She thinks he played. So, we didn't stay for the awards. Huh. So we should find out in a few hours. If she, she placed in one or many of the events. She did 4. Wow. She's building the client. Good. You know what? Yeah, is this her? Is this her, first event? Yeah, this is, this is their second year. So in size, Olivia, they
made state last year with her on the team. Right. Nice. And she got, yeah, third place in forestry last year. I mean, They have science academies that they go in against. And she went in there without note and freaking crushed the academy. Nice. Good job. I'm sorry. Congratulations. Yes. Yeah. You're on speaker. Okay, well congratulations. Yeah. I was thinking there. Congratulations. Hey, John. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. You're boys, these people? No, she knows she's actually a volu
nteer but me too. Yes, oh! I know. But still! I'm a research team. How, how old are you, sweetheart? 1313. 15013, okay. Well, I'm gonna use language that you should not repeat. Okay, I'm a Okay. Okay, she knows more bad words than you do, Alfredo. You should see what they do. I'm meeting you for my six-year-old. Well good then she Then you know, next time we have Yes, please. So listen, when we have the next breakout event. What's your name? I'm sorry, what's your name? Hayden? Hated. Okay, so w
hen we have the next breakout room, Hayden, what I want you to do is you stay behind in this room, which I'm sure Brian will, and I want you to teach me some of the words. Okay. Okay. That's funny. Yeah. Brian is just, your dad is pulling your leg sweetie with Alfredo. Yes, yeah, you know, I'm just a troublemaker. I should need to do it, but she's like, well, Caitlin's in the car. Yeah. She's 10, and she shouldn't hear that. But she know, Kaylyn knows a lot of bad words, too. Oh, yeah. No, I wou
ld. I hate them like that. Hey, that's Okay. Hi, Okay, Oh, thanks. Yeah. It's. What is that? Is that bad? Is that bad words in another language? No, it's actually Hebrew that I know there is no cuss words that I know of but it's Hebrew. Oh, oh wow. I learned it when I was in Israel when I lived in Israel and then Zello effect, Ma. Everybody should be coming back now about to record recording now. I won't. Thanks for the warning. I appreciate it. I'm going to stop. Hold on second. I mean wash thi
s down if you don't mind. We've paid a me of a professional. That's me. Okay, welcome back everybody! Yeah, yeah, of course. Okay, you need in those salt, soft beans again, I mean salty Saturday, right? Okay, just, yeah, alright, you get it. Alright. Here's what I'll tell you. Just be glad that this is Just video video and then and then you can see me and you can hear me but you can't smell what those beans are doing so How was that room? Was it awesome? Did, did you make some connections? Did y
ou talk to people? Good, because that's the purpose. And if you didn't, I hope you saw the engagement of the people who did. We're gonna get another chance. To go back to old rooms after we get some more recruiters who haven't spoken So if you're a recruiter. And you didn't talk to somebody. Then I'm gonna need you to raise your hand, come up. And speak. All right, let people know about the opportunities that you have. If you're military. Hold on. If you're a military spouse Who is hiring who's
a recruiter raise your hands get over here talk to people Okay, after you guys talk. And if we don't get, More hands raised, then what we're going to do is we'll go to some VSOs and let them talk, but I would rather have a couple more recruiters thought if you guys are doing some hiring. Okay, so if you are a VSO. Raise your hand. And we'll mix you in. Okay. So right now. Ladies and gentlemen. Live from Puerto Rico. I would like to introduce you. To FEMA's number one recruiter. Chip blanket ever
ybody. Good afternoon, V 2 I glad to be coming to you from sunny San Juan it's my third city in 3 days in Puerto Rico down here trying to help. People in the Territory of Puerto Rico find jobs. My goal, I'm the lead HR strategist for FEMA and my job and my goal is to help you find your way to a job in the federal government. Whether it's with my agency or another one and that's my goal. I'm gonna talk about today about some positions we have in Denton, Texas, Winchester, Virginia. Washington DC
and Wanabo Puerto Rico. For emergency managers, these are not on U.S.A. jobs. I can name select every one of these 312 positions we're trying to fill to get people into the federal government. I'm gonna put some information in the chat about that. So if you're looking, if you live in near one of those areas and you're looking for a job that's going to be hybrid once you're trained up possibly. Remote, then please reach out to me. Again, my name is Chip Lanker. My goal is to help you transition y
our way into your first federal job. Thank you. Make sure that you guys are reaching out to Chip because Chip is a wonderful resource. For getting into the. Into the federal government and especially If you're looking at FEMA. Which is a wonderful place. You're welcome. Thank you very much, Chip. Say hello. Say hello to my 835 cousins who are in Puerto Rico. I'm sure there's probably 6 of them right around you right now. I'm I said if you're VSO, raise your hand so that you can jump in here and
we only got 2 VSOs in here. Come on. Don't make me call you guys out, cause I will. Let's start with Omar. What's going on, brother? I ain't seen you in a minute. Yo! Huh. It's up. Hey, L, and I went I'll be that brother. I'm not heard sunny Florida on the in the panhandle. I, it's very unique down here. I am a state veteran service officer. And I am under a state Better Service Organization are. Department of Enter for Department Veterans Affairs is very unique. As is Florida Vets. Dot org and
we are a nonprofit under the state of Florida. What I do as a better service officer, yes, we all know, talk about. What I do as a vendor service officer, yes, we all know, talk about claims, but it's also there for the spouse. Cause you gotta remember, start panning ahead, cause you look at, okay, yeah, I'm, you know, I gotta go see, you But start making sure that you have all your paper straight so if anything happens to you your spouse knows who to go to not knowing who to go to but you have
everything ready for her or him to take care of what they have to do with the via the VA for them for themselves for you. So that's a big thing. Besides that, of course, we have tons of benefits and resources here in state of Florida. They have its new program by Ron decided the First Lady, Mr. Sanders, had created what they call Hope Florida. And now they have branched off and created their home, Hope Florida veterans and that program where it does is that one for those that are looking to come
into Florida, transitioning, looking for employment elsewhere. There's so many resources they're available through that organization as well as You know, they're going through VSO. So. That me said, Omar and if you needed anything with, claims or if you're, resources, it doesn't matter if you're not in the state of Florida. Your power returning is with, American Legion. I can look at your claim. And if it's not, I can just an offer advice. Thank you. Who's? Who's? Happy to help. Pay it forward.
Yeah, brother. Hey, Omar. Okay, connect with me. Fema is in the process of planning a live hiring event in St. Okay. Mary, Florida to hire people specifically for that disaster recovery office that's opening up there. So we need to connect on that so you can share that with your veterans down there because we're gonna have a significant number of positions in Florida. Sounds good brother will do Okay, thanks. Oh, those, look at a little bit of the behind the baseball. As they say, that's how yo
u guys find out stuff. You know, cause here there's no secret meetings. If somebody is gonna be hiring, they're gonna, they're gonna shout it out to the world. And Omar, another thing that Omar talked about, Omar is a state representative. Okay, which means that he works for the benefits that you get from the state of Florida. Those of you who didn't know that you get state benefits. Need to look that up. And find out what they are. Every state. Has a a veterans organization whether it's called
you know the Department of Veterans or Department of Veterans Services or whatever it is. Okay, look it up. And see what else you get. Cause you're gonna get, more than what you thought you got, okay? I used to work for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. That's the name of ours here in Virginia. The Texas Veterans Commission is the name of it in Texas. So that word veteran will be there. Look it up, okay? It's something for you. To if you're transitioning. For you to put into that tha
t that toolbox because the veteran. Benefits that you get might make the difference between going to Iowa and going to, or going to Virginia or going to Florida. Okay, they can play in into that. So make sure that you're looking up your state benefits. Okay, and talk to if you're in Florida talk talk to Omar let him you know let him help you out Tory How are you doing? Hello, I'm great. How are you, Alfredo? Hello? I'm wonderful. You have purple? It really is. Oh wait, decide. It's purple and bl
ue. Oh my god. I'm I'm an eighties kid so I'm all about you know, the colored hair. Yeah, people kind of I actually had someone approach me at church one day and asked me if all veterans did that because her daughter granddaughter was getting ready to retire from the Navy and she was very very worried. I said, no, not all of us do it. And to tag team on what you're saying about the benefits. Yeah. Okay. So tell us what you, don't what you got. Oh. I didn't know what I didn't know, but I did know
what I retired that Alabama does not tax military retirement, which is why I live on this side of the Chattahoochee. And you can find that broken down state by state if you just Google veteran benefits by state. It's on military. Dot com and it is a huge benefit to know that. Especially for those of us who No really care where we land. But anyway, my name is Dory Pelley. I retired from the Army in 2,015 after 24 years 8 months, 24 days. So I did not who know who I was. I didn't know what I want
ed to be when I grew up and so I kind of floundered for almost a year found still serving veterans at that time and they helped me rewrite my resume and gave me a job. And so what we do is we are a better nonprofit physically located in Alabama, but we help veterans no matter where they are because, you know, internet helps with everything. So we help you with your resume interviews skills, networking, all those wonderful tools to help you survive in this civilian world that the military did not
necessarily give you. So if you're interested in any of our services or in any assistance, I'll put my, little blurb in the chat just connect with me on LinkedIn or if you just want to grow your network because as I stole from Eric Brew your network is your net worth. And it just, it really helps to connect with. All the people in the veteran space. Thanks. Aw, thank you. And, again, she's 100% right. Your network is your net worth. More jobs are gotten through what we call the back door. Then
they are through the want ads. Okay. And what's the back door? This is the back door talking to Chip and, talking, talking to Heather and to Kimberly and and to Robert. This is the back door. This is getting to know people. Go ahead. Alfredo, I don't know if. I don't know if the Navy did the, love me book like the Army did. That But I tell people all the time that LinkedIn is your new Love Me book. It's where you put all that wonderful crap you did both inside of and outside of the military and
you connect with all those people. Who their names are on your evaluations and awards anyway. So connect with them. I don't I don't know about no love me book the Navy gave me to get the hell out of here book. You know, they didn't give me and I love you book. But then again, I was, you know, I was medically, showing the door. So maybe that's why they would like take your just disabled ass out and throw the trash out on your way. So, but, yeah, this is, LinkedIn is your, new, I love me. If you'r
e not, you know, I love me book. And what's amazing about, about LinkedIn. Is imagine you're in your ship, your platoon, whatever that you got your squad and whatever you guys are. And take away all the assholes. And leave all the good people. That's what the LinkedIn veteran community is. Because everybody that you connect with. Wants to help you. We've all been there and so. Don't be scared to reach out. To a veteran to ask them anything. Ask them anything. Just real quick, before we go to Sus
an, those of you don't know me, I've been homeless. I've been suicidal. I've been a victim of a sexual assault. And I talk about it all. And the reason I talk about it all is because I don't want anybody out there who's gone through that. To believe they're the only ones. So it gives you the opportunity to reach out to somebody. And and talk to it so that this way you don't have to go through the things that I went through. So do not hesitate. To reach out to me about things like that or reach o
ut to other people who you feel comfortable. Good. How are y'all doing today? Oh, every time I hear you voice, you know I'm doing good. I'm Susan Smith. I'm a former maybe veteran or former Navy. Musician turned recruiter. And once I retired out of the out of the Navy. I've moved back to Alabama and Now I work with veterans overcoming barriers to employment. I'm I work for the Alabama Department of Labor under the jobs for Veterans State Grant. Under that grant, we have 2 different positions we
have. The DevOps disabled veteran outreach program specialist. And we have the labor, the local veteran employment representative. The DevOps myself and others like we work with the veterans. We do case management, everything from just the basic sitting down and helping with the resumes helping with the interview techniques and helping with job searches. All the way to reaching out to other providers in the area to help to find. Housing to help to find food resources. Different things of that so
rt. Ways for people to get transportation around town. So that people don't have to worry about the bare necessities of life. They can focus on their actual value to an employer so that when they walk in, they're actually confident about themselves. They're actually able to tell What the real value to the employer is. And instead of starting at a rock bottom basement. Position when they actually walk in the door with skills and leadership. They can actually possibly step into a better position a
nd move more into a career focus position that other than just a job that they're going to drop. Pop from later and onto another job later on. And so, and with the veteran. The local veteran employment representative, they do the entire opposite side of the spectrum. They reach out to the employers. They work with the employers letting the employers know the value of hiring a veteran, not just that we bring extra skills to the table, but there's tax breaks there. There's also other programs like
the Harvax Bedallion Program that recognizes employers for hiring veterans and retaining those veterans. And then talking about the Skill Bridge program. And so there's there's the 2 sides and when you put the 2 sides together. We each represent, I represent the veterans and that is where my loyalties lie. The leavers that loyalties lie completely with the employer and when we need to we did take the resources that we have and come back into the office to discuss any kind of any kind of Shortco
mings the veterans might have or anything that we need to work with the employers on so that the veterans do actually get that suitable, sustainable. Awesome. Thank you for that, Susan. And while Susan is in Alabama. There are levers and the bobs in all 50 states. So feel free to look. Out and and their jobs are to help. Veterans with severe employment. Barriers. So we're talking about justice involved. We're talking about homeless. We're talking about age, aged. Medical issues. All of these thi
ngs. That could stop a veteran from from achieving a sustainable living. Okay, had I known about them when I went through my troubles, it probably would have did a lot for me for helping me out. So reach out to Susan. And make sure that if you're one of these veterans who falls into that into those categories. That you talk to her. And if, if you're not in Alabama, he can probably put you, put on the spot. She could probably connect you to, to a, in your area so that this way you can, And this w
ay she can connect you to somebody. So do I got any other VSOs? Any other employers who have not spoken? Yes, no! Hey, I'd like to talk real quick. Alright, so we're gonna go to another breakout room. Hey, what? Oh, oh, I thought you went a car. Wow. Good. Go ahead, Brian. Yeah, not now. Yeah, so I work for a company called Rapid Ascent. Which is a cybersecurity training academy. And it provides for real time. Hands on keyboard experience to in the cybersecurity realm learning everything from Li
nux. To governance risk compliance for vulnerability assessments and threat assessments and mitigation. Also penetration testing and ethical hacking. So if you ever wanted to get into cybersecurity, this is the entry level and immediate intermediate level, program. It only takes 3 and a half months of your GI bill. And what's incredible is that it's built by Boeing. Along with rapid ascent together and Boeing requires all of their cybersecurity entry people to have gone through the rapid ascent
cohort. So it is a requirement. So if you ever had any ideas about going to Boeing or into any other airspace or doing any cybersecurity. Highly recommend that you check out rapid assent.com. It's a really easy application process. And the next cohort is in May. There's a part time evening, which is a 23 week program and then there's a full-time day which is a 17 week so if you want to go full-time school you can do that with the 17 week if you wanna if you have your day job you got the the nigh
t time part time for 23 weeks. And, we also are skill bridge eligible. So if your skill bridge, and you want to go through and you're coming up in May or potentially in the in the fall. Then this is something that you, definitely should look at and any other information if you want, reach out to me. And I'll put my information in the in the chat for my actual day job, but, every we have a 98% higher rate out of the rapid descent training. Wow. It's not a, so you're not going in there just gettin
g certifications and then hey, good luck. You actually learn how to do the job. So that on the first day of employment, you can actually stop threats in real-time stop packs in real time. Just really awesome. And you also get 30 college credit hours in core cybersecurity for that was 3 and a half months. Through City University of Seattle. So that's a whole year's worth of school, which would be a whole lot more on your GI Bill that you're getting for free. And you get SET Plus certified. Traine
d and free voucher for the test. You've got sec plus, then you get net plus. Or you get Sissa plus if that's what you are desiring. So, I'll myself in the chat and I'll shut up now. Thank you. Oh, do I? Sorry. You got, you got, you got a couple questions in the chat. Yeah, I don't know if you want to answer them live or if you just want to, reach out to them. Recount to by me a note. Yeah, I'm like so far behind in messages. So if you have a message, I'm gonna put my my rapid ascent email in the
chat if it has anything to do with rapid descent, then please send me. Emails. If it's anything best sensory, then I'll give you that one as well, to, to send me. Alright, so there you got it. Dude, I didn't know that a Boeing requires people now to go to that. Yeah. Yep. For cybersecurity. So there you go, if you're looking at Boeing as a. As a potential higher sign up for this and when you talk to Yeah, for cybersecurity, right, sign up, sign up for this. And then tell that recruiter, hey, I'
m going to this. you know, I'm taking this course. And that probably might get you, I would assume that would get you in. Because they already know that you're taking it or that you took it already. So, yeah, there's, you know, there's another little advantage there. Okay, so we're gonna do another breakout room. When I come back. I want military spouses who are entrepreneurs. I want any VSOs who haven't spoke. And anybody. who is, Who is, who's with an educational. Institution. I want all you g
uys when we come back. To raise your hands, so that you guys can pitch your stuff. And then after, and that includes you, Stacy. That, I, I want you to pitch your stuff. 2 and I'm And then after that, we'll do another breakout room. And we're going to invite you out here. To do a, to do your 30 s pitch. Your elevator pitch out to the recruiters who are all here while still here. And, S you know you generate some interest. It's been done before, you know, people will sit there and say, hey, you k
now what, why don't you reach out to me? Or reach out to this person. So make sure that you guys stick around for that. Yes, Brian. Just wanna answer, Moss. Yes, we take BRD as well. And we're working on VET tech right now once they get the funding back. So great question. It's okay. Okay. I, I don't know what any of that is. I got out 20 years ago. Matthew! I'm here. Of course you are lurking in the darkness. Are you ready to send everybody to a room? Yes, I am. About to send him over. All righ
t, so Brian, get ahead since you're here. You can do it. Everybody, go to your rooms. You got 2 who are still here. Yeah, sometimes when they if they come in after you get a go up and send them Matthews got it though he He sees what needs to happen now. To step behind the scenes. He's just, you got 1. One on the sound person. Yeah, it is yes Yep. It's going awesome. You guys are crushing it. It's, it's, yeah, it's, it's going awesome, but. I'm on. We didn't get a I'm not worried about the amount
of people. I was worried about the amount of recruiters in VSOs. See what happens when you do. Alfredo greet you. Where's his tuner? Oh, yeah. Oh! All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. hey, Matt, did you get that little pole set up? No, the thing is giving me trouble for some reason. Yeah, well then the hell with it. Don't worry about it. I'm I'm hoping everybody is getting some great connections out of those breakout. That's, that, that's, that's, that's, that to meet the people that
you're talking. That you're getting information Because that's that's what those breakout rooms are for Okay, that's what allows us V 2 Y. That's what separates us from, from, from the competition. Is to allow you to get some time. To, to get to know each other. All right, and to speak to recruiters and speak to VSOs who are out here making a difference. I want you guys to remember, it's Saturday. And you know, it's Saturday and it's 4 30 here on the, on the East Coast. And, and they're recruite
rs here. And, and, and there are VSOs here. You know, there are people who care about you. That's why they're here. Okay? And people who come in and out. But they're all here because they want to make sure that you land. Safely and and and as easily as possible on the other side. Okay, so make sure that you Take advantage of these people who are here. Okay? Because if you don't They gonna stop coming. Okay, so, so please talk to them, reach out to them. Make sure that you are connecting and grow
ing your network with these people. Who are looking to help you. So with that being said every anybody who needs to talk and has't Raise your hands. So all of you recruiters, all of you VSOs, all of you people who are involved with volunteer groups. All the military spouses who have their own businesses. I, this is your chance to speak. Oh, and don't make me start calling out calling you guys out because I know several of you. So, Raise your hands. Is nobody is going to speak. Okay, there's Mark
. There's one. Go ahead, brother. I'll take a crack at it. Alright. Hey everybody. I'm just tuning in today. I work at Lockheed Martin as a cyber security engineer. I also did a software engineering internship. And before that I was a truck driver. So. I'm all for the transition. I have plenty of resources. I vouch for these groups, because You know, these are the people that you're gonna stay in touch with. Like if you're transitioning right now. Finding a battle buddy and going through the tra
nsition with the battle buddy. It having a mentor is one thing. But having a battle buddy going through it at the real time with you to see how your progress should be and Kind of have someone to push you through it along the process. So, you know, the military act now, the key community veterans to industry, veterani, American corporate partners making sure that everyone's involved in the same page. But, happy to connect with anyone and let me know if I can ever be a resource. Awesome. I apprec
iate that, Mark. And there's going to be a lot of those kinds of organizations. If you belong to any of them, make sure you raise your hand and talk about them. Dan. Go ahead, Hope. Well, I want to tell everyone about this. Awesome thing that we do every single Sunday, rain or shine, holiday or not. Every Sunday at 12, east of standard time. There's a group of us that go and talk and share too much information about Excel. It's kind of Alfredo's coffee house. It gets who you will find there ever
y Sunday. You! That would be Alfredo, well. Yeah. But I just wanna talk to everyone about it because. Well, Mark was just saying it's so very important. That we are always transitioning in life. I got a military a long time ago. Yeah. More than. 30 years. But it doesn't matter. One thing that we found, you can look at all this research, is out there about veterans. And one of the things you will find is that we still need to stay connected to each other. It doesn't matter race, it doesn't matter
gender, it doesn't matter anything. We still need to be connected with each other. No one will go through the things that we go through. It's just what happens. We have all these things in common. We all have to transition out. Nobody gets to stay. Everybody gets to leave eventually, whether you want to or not. And so it is hard. It is not easy transitioning of the military, but then we also need to have your squad. Who's your squad that's supporting you through life? We need each other. Whatev
er happens, I need Matthew. All the time. I need Alfredo. Of course I need Dan. We need each other for different reasons. We can push and and say things to one another that other people can't. One of the best things that I get out of the group is some accountability. No one bosses me or telling me what to do. I'm gonna be honest. No body in my life even tries to. And so, but these Sunday people have changed my life because they do challenge me. You see Susan Smith down there? When I was just get
ting started and all this things online Susan was there for me at every little episode, even things that were not. Just me doing it. I was doing it for other agencies in different places. She was there to support me. Why is that important? Because it's one thing to go someplace by yourself, but it's another thing to know you have backup and support no matter what goes down. To leave my house, everything I need is here, why would I leave? And if it's not here, I can have someone deliver it, right
? I needed to get out of house. So I had challenges to get out of the house, but not just challenges, but support. My first adventure out of the house was with Brian. I don't see Brian. Oh, here he is. It was with Brian. We went to the, was it, What is it service? Student Vensions of America. That student veterans. There we go. See, we need each other, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so I didn't really wanna go. I knew I would have to use a scooter, hated it. I knew I would be by myself at first. I
didn't want to go to that. I don't want to do anything by my stuff like that. What if I fall over? What if someone kicks my cane? I have all these things in my head. That's just reality. And so by. I only kicked your cane twice. Come on. So, Maya is going together. I had someone aware of my issues. If something did happen, I knew he had my back and if something happened to him, well, he knows. I have his back. And so. My second event was with Brian again. You see a trend? It's so, yeah, I'm see
ing a trend, but all of that started and then I started accepting actual speaking engagements. To get out and tell people more about all the things that we do as veterans, how to get federal jobs, all variety of things. But that is what kick started me leaving to go to a conference somewhere. And then I realized this is a pattern. I knew a bunch of my military friends would be there for my agency. I just let them know. I need you. Make sure you check in with me. I need your, I need all your numb
ers. If something happens, I'm calling. I never had to use it, but it was good that I had it. I feel confident. I did. I did an awesome job because I knew they kept peeking their heads in looking. I'm like, I'm okay. That encouragement really just changed things for me. And now I'm, I wanna announce here today. Wow. Oh wow. Yeah. I have accepted 2 podcasts. Now this is a big deal. It sounds like a small thing, but it's a big deal because I don't do that, I do privacy. I do privacy, but I need to
get out there more. I've been trying to hold my business back for too long. Is exhausting trying to hold it back. Thank you Stacy because you know the drama. So I'm just saying to you, we need these people, all of these people in our lives just to supporters. Now my biggest supporter, even though it's interesting is Merle. There she is in the middle of my screen. You see there. Don't be putting hard business. You see, she's giving you a look. And Merle is awesome. I'm not, I know, she has to gi
ve me that. I already know she had her camera off. I'm just saying. I knew she would, but this is what I would say about Merle. Is that out of all the people. In this world. She's the one that she had the right words with the right attitude to say to me to get me motivated to do a lot of things. And so even if it's just for the support, motivation, we just had, one of the people who attend on the regular basis at the coffee house who this from the summer. She's been taking care of parents and Si
blings and a sibling has passed away. There's all of these things going on in her life, but we were there to support her when she wanted to talk, texting back and forth. She said a lot of interesting things that she could not say to her family. And I was glad she could get it off her chest. I left through the whole thing. My whole point is we need each other more than just for finding jobs. That will happen. That's an automatic thing. You need this. Okay, I heard about that. Just come to the cof
fee house. I'm not saying your experience would be the same as mine. Alright. I just think that we all could use some support and have a tribe a squad for life that's all Yes, sir. So hope so hope how do we join the coffee house Oh, I'm so glad you asked because I already put it in the chat, but I'm gonna drop it again. Thank you. And again, it's every Sunday no matter what. We will be there. That's all. Thank you. You know what? Thank you for talking about it. I do a horrible job of selling mys
elf. But, you're right about one thing, okay, is that We need each other. We need each other. And it's not just for finding jobs. Oh, okay. We lose our tribe when we transition out. There's a lot of people here who are in the process of transitioning. But there's a lot of people here who've gotten out already. And you can ask any of those who have gotten out. About the hard times that they have. Having lost. The comrades having lost their shipmates, having lost their battle buddies. It's it's to
ugh it really is to be 38 years old or 40 years old. Get out of high school. Go join the military and now you're 38, 40 years old. And you've never dealt with the outside world. And going to the store isn't dealing with the outside world. Okay, picking up your kids from school is not dealing with the outside world. And it's by relying on somebody those who've been out. You know, people like Chip and people like Heather and, and people like Brian and people like Dan and, and Howard and Matthew, p
eople been out. It's important to talk to them. And and to understand that the transition is more than just getting a job. So thank you for that, Hope. I appreciate it. Stacy, your hand hasn't been raised yet. Get in the freaking. Where's your hand and you too, Alyssa, that you got more to talk about. And Merle, what you got. How I just put this disclaimer, right? You come to the coffee house tomorrow. Please understand what happens in a coffee house. That isn't a coffee house, right? No come in
there. You know BS, right? Don't be in there being goofy. And, I mean, being disrespectful or getting out of hand. I'm just let you know now. Yeah Just. Mirls are sergeant at arms. I'm I was gonna say. Yes. Except that you can use sailor language. Yeah. What is? Yes, and I was gonna say that next if you have a problem with person on a Sunday, that ain't the place you wanna be. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, the V twoI events are rated B. For Brian, but everything else. Thanks a whole differ
ent level. Yeah. Yeah, and she's right about that. You know, I'm a sailor and I'm a New Yorker. Yeah. So I talked the way I talked and I figured that they're adults around here. Try to be respectful, but. Sometimes doesn't work. Still happens. So thank you, Merl for saying that. Dixie. Speaking of tribes, I've been with VTI as well. When, Brian got got this started and I've met Stacy. We talk every day. She's on the East Coast. I'm coming from the West Coast. So we become. I'm waiting for a wedd
ing someday. Yeah. So bottom line is that's my chance to go back and visit. The bottom line is I go to the Alfred's coffee when I'm on the West Coast, that's my church. It's really a time, time to release it back for 2 h and just reflect and be with family because when you're on by yourself out in the field it's not fun at least when I get wood back with with you guys and I'm at home and it's also wanted to say 2 is hopefully we can get a there's 2 events that I want to note it is the The, that
Brian's talking about on LinkedIn. And we need to also talk about getting a family reunion at the MIC come, in Atlanta this fall. Yes, and I believe a list is going to talk about that. Yep. So thank you for that, Dixie, and I hope to see you at the Mick. At the very least, hopefully at the weekend the cruise. So, again, anybody who's got anything to talk about, VSO recruiter, education, mill spouse, employment, anything that you're that you're selling. Raise your hands. Okay, this is your time t
o talk before we go into one more breakout room and then we get you to start talking and doing your elevator pitch out here in the open room. So, yeah. Alfredo, why don't we do the cruise announcement? How about that? You wanna do that now? My hands raise. It's Cam or Kimberly. That well, I got the Yes, no, I see. Yeah, I see you. I'm a Give me 1 s. Okay. Because let me get. Oh, Zolida? I'm going to I'd say again. You yeta. Hello. Julieta. Yes. So I just wanna. I don't know why that's it. That's
easier to say. You, okay, go ahead. I just wanted to ask about the coffee house, the coffee chat tomorrow. Is it a virtual or in person? It's virtual. and everybody's welcome. You don't have to speak. If you don't want, if you just wanna show up and just kind of hang out and get a feel for it. Even though it's 12, it's noon to 2 PM. East of standard time. You don't have to stay the whole time. You can come and go as you please. They really need to go to church afterwards, so after all. A lot of
people go to church first. And so they'll come in toward the end. To join us, some of them, you know, Alright, yeah, yeah, yes, Brian, yes, yes, because I'm a sinner and and and I spread my disease of sin. That's okay. I balance it out. I balance it out. To everybody. Yeah, but no, yes. Some people go before church, so people go after church. And, it's all about, whenever you can. Some people stay the more than 2 h. Cause we'll have hope we'll have her lady's chat after, It's a lady, Chat. All
you girls sit there. Yeah, stop it. It's not a lady's chat. Now, Matthew knows because he's always there. Stop it. Matthew is a gentleman and won't say it. I will. That's the difference between Matthew and I. He's, he's the, he's a Marine. He keeps his company. But anyway, yes. You can stay there longer than 2 h until. Hope shuts it down. I'm newly married and I like to stay married. So I do my 2 h and I'm out. But please come in. Whatever you want to, military spouses, veterans, transitioning s
ervice members. People who like the military, whatever it is, recruiters, VSOs. We get all types over there. So we would love to see you. Thank you so much. Thank you. I appreciate it. Stacy, and then I'm going to go to Kimberly to talk to me about this. About this cruise. Thing. So go ahead, Stacey. Okay, hi everybody. Stacey Gordon, I'm wearing 2 hats. First I am representing my family's veteran owned promotional marketing company which is more for the B to B so it would be more for the recrui
ters that organizations we can do anything with your name, your logo on it. Since I joined the families company in the summertime, I've worked really hard to find veteran source products. So supplier partners that give back to the veteran or military community. And or veteran owned businesses that are producing, you know, our merchandise. So one of the things I created a fire, anybody that is interested, we can set up a one on one chat. We're going to be giving 10% back to that's the industry an
d this is kind of starting now and it's for the duration. So I am going through the duration like, you know, no expiration date. So I'm going to put a flyer in the chat. With that information, that's the first part. The second part is first and foremost, I'm a teacher. I am a former sixth grade teacher of students currently serving in the Army Air Force and Marines. And I was adopted by vets to industry 3 and a half years ago and they helped me through my own transition and transfer and squad th
rough life from civilian classroom teacher to military transition coach life skills. The educator, really for holistic success. So I am going to put in the chat a link tree, which is one link with a lot of classes that I've created some free classes that I've created and also all of the resources that I've learned as everybody has been defending and protecting me. I have been learning for you. So I just want to say thank you so much for your service and then you know I'm around just as a resourc
e. So Alfredo especially and Merle and Pope and Dixie of course and Matthew and Brian and you know the whole family thank you because because of your encouragement and support and Dan too is why I just kept moving forward and I'm able to serve it support in this way. So thank you. Awesome. Thank you. What's that? And what's that company again? It's called Creative Specialty Promotions. Awesome. So if you guys are looking. To help a veteran owned business. And help V 2 I. Because We need your hel
p and I'll talk more about that later. Feel free to reach out to Stacy, please. And, and also Alfredo, I realize we can help some of the commands do like challenge coins and things like that. Patches. So for those of you that are on active duty, we can also help your your tribe as well but but I'll put Papa pop a flyer in the chat and then also just something Heather reminded me I'm also like Heather an ACP mentor for American corporate partners and also higher heroes U.S.A. So it's all about me
ntorship and like Mark Sullivan talked about before. So I'll put those resources in the chat. As well. So things are really. Awesome. Thank you. We appreciate it. Kimberly! I know you're chomping at the bit to talk about this cruise. I'm very excited to talk about it. I think Matthew is going to pull up the flyer to show everybody. Hmm. I got nothing. I see a black screen there. It's not showing up. No. Yeah. Matt, do you want me to send you the flyer just the image? There it is. Okay, there we
go. Okay, so for the first time that's to industry is doing a cruise partnered with Carnival, which is very exciting. They've never done a cruise yet. So it's all for you guys to network. It is going to the Caribbean. So it is a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. It'll stop. It leaves out of Miami and it's gonna stop in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos. Good, so huge deal. And we were able to secure 50 cabins reserve just for vets to industry. It is a big ship and it is family f
riendly. But with this cruise, it's August eleventh through the eighteenth. And that is the dates that we have. If you're interested in going, they are, we're gonna set it up where it's not just networking and getting with recruiters. You will have time with your family, especially at the ports. The way that the agenda is gonna go for this cruise is the second day at sea we will be doing our events so they'll they'll be 3 different breakouts. One will be for, really dressing for success, intervi
ew prep. 5 the other one is gonna be more speed networking and then the last breakout is going to be getting in front of recruiters. The goal is really we're trying to cap it at 15 recruiters, but if we have more than that awesome. So if you're either a recruiter or you're interested in going on the cruise, please reach out to either myself, Brian, and we can kind of guide you through the way if you want to book the cruise. You would call that number, and then you'll be able to actually book it
with the discounts that they have to bet to industry. Just a little bit of information for you. They do have interior cabins and also balcony cabins for different price points. And then the kids are free. I'm 3 under. So there and when you book though, it's usually a free, 3 under. So there, and when you book though, it's usually up to 4 people occupancy. So if you want, if you have more than one person, you want to bring your spouse, your family, you can reserve a tab in that way. If you are th
e first 5 people to book the cruise, you are going to get a gift from that industry that is worth a hundred $50 value on that. But it's gonna be a lot of fun. We are gonna do a gala the last night at sea is like a going away. Thank you. And then there'll be a V 2 I VIP party the first night I believe at C. So if you are interested in hearing more about that, either reach out to myself, Brian, and Charles, I know Charles is not on the call, but the way to call for more information to book would b
e to call that number so we can share that in the chat but it's gonna be very exciting for you guys. If any recruiters are interested in helping, even if you can't go. On the cruise and you want to help sponsor or help with different events. I know we are trying to do some raffles for free things on the cruise. And to help make that more memorable. So if you are interested in that, reach out to me or Brian and we can go from there. So if anybody has any questions on that, this is the first one w
e're doing. So hopefully we will get a good turnout from this and it's also good to see people in person versus just being on zoom and networking. So if it's something you're interested in definitely Yeah. Yeah, I can't. I mean, that Who's talking? Okay. This is Brian. I just want to mention for those companies out there. Yeah, we wanted to get like land years for people and put up your, sign all over Carnival. If you want to host like the gala or if you just want to sponsor a veteran or service
members ticket to come on or few, we will make sure your name is blasted throughout the event and prior to so you know we're really looking for a partnership in this in this cruise and of course you know You were good to have access to service members, transition service members. You know during this time if this event goes off well like I hope it will we will be doing this every year and we can get up to a hundred to 200 cabins. We already talked to Carnival. So this is a test test bed. We nee
d to fill all 50 cabins. I once we do that if I if I fill all 50 cabins I know that this is gonna be a hit because everybody's gonna come back talking about it. This could be excursions at each of the ports you're gonna be able to go on to the way you could network with people or just go with your family. And everything that you want during the travel, including before you get to the crew, if you want to go and explore Miami or get a hotel, you could book all that also through that same phone nu
mber. And if you decide to book packages, make sure you do it before the cruise, because vest industry will actually get a commission off of it. So it would be helping us as well and it's more expensive if you book something while on the cruise than before it. So, just wanted to throw those 2 sets out there. Awesome. Yeah, I appreciate that. Now, guys, first off for the recruiters. We want you guys to come out there and think about it. You know, you tell your, You tell your companies, hey, I'm g
oing on a recruiting event. Right? Out to sea on carnival cruises. To talk to veterans. And by the way, if you sponsor and you get some of these signs up. You're not just dealing with veterans. You dealing with people who are on vacation who might be looking for a job. Yeah, thousands of people on this cruise. Thousands literally who are just looking at your sign. On their way to the casino or on their way to the, you know, to the food or or whatever. You know, so yeah, it's, it's a great market
ing tool for your company. Okay, that's one of those. That's one of those things. And God knows that your, your big companies market for everything. So come on, throw, you know, throw a dog a bone over here and help us out. The second thing is for those of you who are looking for a job How nice would it be to take your family on vacation? And still be able to look for a job. Still be able to talk. To people, still be able to connect with people. How nice would it be for you guys? To go on this a
nd finally meet. Some of the people that you've been talking to. I'm hoping Robert goes. I don't even know what Robert looks like. He has these, he, you know, he, I mean, the whole time we've been talking, he's been putting stuff in there in the chat for you guys. Connect and and for you guys to network and to find opportunities. And, and I have no idea what he looks like. What? Well, you just to put his camera on. I want to shake his hand and say thank you. Hello, Robert was like, a Yeah, okay,
that was before me or maybe yes. Yeah. Alfredo, can I tell people what they're going to get if they were the first 5 people? I just want to tell people what they're going to get if they were the first 5 people. I just want to tell everybody. No, you had your chance to talk. What? So that's the industry has bomber jackets. With FET's industry on it's on our shop. And you will get that for free. If you book now on one of the first 5 people, so. Just what I throw that out there, give it away free
bomber jackets. Like, like a legit bomber jacket. Well, I like the best industry, but, yeah. Ka. Okay, well, can, can I get one? I mean, okay, come on, I'm the freaking! Yeah, if you buy one or if you're one of the first 5 people Yeah, fax. No, it's a nonprofit. Sorry. I'm the vice president. I can't get him freaking Palmer Jack. I got, Well, all right, whatever. That's awesome though. And it just, yo though, if you do buy anything on the shop. Everything is, all proceeds go to beds industry. So
it's all, it all goes to us to, to help us find between. Desperately need right now. Awesome. So, so hopefully you guys will join. Kimberly, you got anything else for us? Okay, no, just for if anybody is gonna book the actual cruise, you the deposit is. 500 and the remaining is due by May eleventh. So if you want to give yourself that time block to do that, we do have to make sure we've got the cabin secured by May eleventh. So if you are thinking about it, at least put it on your radar or call
for more information so that way you can figure out how to really budget it for your family. Yeah. Yeah, and just as a heads up anybody who's a cigar smoker like I am You're allowed duty free 5 boxes. And we're stopping at the Dominican Republic, which is a huge. Huge, huge cigar place. Yes. Just one question. How much are the sponsorships and where is that on the website? Go ahead, Kimberly. So the sponsorship I know Brian had there's a for anybody too that is looking just for more info on the
cruise under the main web page, there's a whole spot for the V 2 I crews you can get more info as far as donating and sponsorships I believe Brian you can correct me if I'm wrong. They're able to just donate or reach out to us directly. Okay. Yeah, yeah, I'm not sure if the cruise is on the website yet. Oh, so I gotta check on that. But it's coming. Nope. Okay. There will be a page just like they do for for Mick. Yeah, there's gonna be a page there. Talks all about the carnival. It's gonna show
pictures of and the cool thing is the kids. The kids go on and there's so many activities that it's supervised. So you can just dump your kids off for those 7 days and just do whatever you want to do. Take him, go. Hey. Wow, wow, you're a heartless, bastard. Just dump your kids off. Hey, I'm bringing my kids. I'm bringing my kids and I don't expect to see them most of the time. Okay. Just dump them. Just get rid of them. This is your chance to go to to go to, you know, the The beautiful Caribbe
an and dump your kids off. Yeah, I'm putting them on the water slide and then I'm gonna, you know, fire and forget. Wow. They are supervised just so you know for the kids programs for anyone that had not been on a cruise. There are actual events that are supervise that you can drop. Oh god. No Lord! Oh Jesus! Yes, they're supervised by me. So be prepared for that, okay? As I bring but that as I bring the little, you know, the little bottles. For kids to have my first shot of jack daniels with Al
fredo Torres. Thank you for that. Seriously guys. You said one thing, Brian. You said, can I say one thing? We're also looking at getting everybody. I'm sorry. I'm excited. Hey, it's a gift. Hey. Yeah. So we're looking at getting every single adult that comes down there, a bottle of champagne and chocolates as well. So as as a free kind of welcome to the cruise. So I think that's gonna happen. So. So. Are you saying not only are we going to be able, to find a job, but we will also be able to hav
e a night of romance with our significant other. Yes. Bye. That's nice. Oh, that's nice. Okay. Alright, I'll get off the soapbox. Yeah. Okay. Kimberly, you got anything else on the cruise for us? Nope, I would say, if we haven't already posted it in the chat, just post the flyer. All. I'm gonna be posting it on my LinkedIn all over the place, but if people have questions specifically, either reach out to myself or Brian and then Charles is also help in order to reach out to myself or Brian and t
hen Charles is also helping coordinate it. Yeah. Awesome. If you want to volunteer and then Charles is also helping coordinate it. If you want to volunteer, help also on the planning side, let us know and reach out because there's, I'm sure on the operations side, we'll, we'll need some volunteers for that too. Yeah. Yeah, at any company I will be willing to give you extra things. Just for sponsoring the event. So, there'll be more than just on the cruise. They'll be multimedia stuff going out a
bout you guys so Please, Try to try to get your companies on board with this. It's gonna be huge. Awesome. Thank you both. Alyssa. What you got, girl? Hello, hello. Okay, so. I have a couple things to kind of put out first things is and this will kind of segue into my second part of it. So we have some really, exciting and awesome things happening this year, obviously. We have a lot of things. We have our V twoI crews. And then for V 2 I itself, we have a new volunteer department, that we are ad
ding. I am going to be heading that as the new director for that. I am also still a part of HR department. So kind of having a dual role. But the new department, so kind of having a dual role. But the new department is going to be a dual role. But the new department is going to be digital engagement. And just what that is just a quick blurb is we are going to be establishing a Discord server channel and we are going to be establishing our own Twitch channel. So if you don't know, many of you kin
d of do already, I am really big in the gaming community. Me and my husband are absolute gaming nerds. We do all kinds of gaming, but this is going to be a new department and we are going to essentially our goal is to want to kind of close the gap in communication with everybody that we have in our network. So we have these events monthly and in between that you know once everybody kind of goes their own way we would like everyone to be able to have the opportunity to engage socially. So you can
still continue social networking, talking, things like that. You can engage with each other. So we'd like everybody, you know, to come together, it could be recruiters. This is going to be a public community page for V twoI. So that means we will have channels built out where people can join them and there's going to be different things for each channel and everything. So we are going to officially be launching that for March, but we are going to be accepting, you know, taking in volunteers for
this new department. For the department, we're looking in volunteers for this new department. For the department, we're looking, we're going to be looking for community manager content creators, someone to do social media, someone to be our discord and Twitch moderators that will also be a role as well. Someone to kind of help, you know, maybe with in content slash graphics and things like that. And to help with events with setting these events up. So it's going to be really great. We're also I
'm also going to be partnering a little bit with Stage as well and so they have some things going on already with Rocket League and some of the tournaments. But there's this is a really exciting thing. You know, I'm, I'm, I'm super excited because I'm really big into this. Gaming is really great for mental health and I just really want to put that out there. It's really, really great for mental health. I think this would be a great opportunity for people to join this community and get get into g
aming if it's already a part of your life and you want you know, other people in the community to kind of connect with and do stuff like this. It doesn't have to be PC or console. We could do table tops. Whatever. If you're into, you know, online D and D campaigns, magic the gathering, whatever you're into, there's all kinds of things that we have. So that's that's that part. The second part of that is we are going, we are still accepting, you know, volunteers within V twoI. This is a really gre
at opportunity to continue to gain, you know, relative work experience that can be added to your resume. And so some of the other departments that we have is going to be our HR department research, data analytics, program management, marketing, business development. We have a lot of you know, different departments and things like that. So if you aren't interested, I will drop the link in the chat and you can sign up if you are interested in being a volunteer with us. We are always welcome and yo
u know interested in bringing in newer volunteers and with the new things that we have going on for 2024, you know, in digital engagement department, I think this is going to be a really exciting year. So I'm super excited. That's what I wanted to say and that's it. Awesome, thank you. Thank you, Listen. Hey, take this out, man. Volunteer experience is still experience. Okay, so you can put that on your resume. Alright, so this is a chance to build up some of those skills. That you guys think mi
ght be valuable and you say, oh, I don't know where I can get the skill. Where can I get HR experience? Why can I get recruiting experience? When can I get IT experienced without a job? BAM, right here. Right here, V 2 I, okay? And, and other veteran places. All right, volunteer experience is still experience. Do not let these opportunities pass you by. For some for others of you, okay, would been out for a while and have been blessed. To have found people to help you. This is a good way to pay
it back. This is a good way for you to give back to the community, to pay it forward, to make sure that the legacy lives on of us taking care of us. Okay, so please volunteer wherever you want. Okay, but look at us. As a way to hit that. Checking off taking care of each other and also making sure that we get that experience. That's important. Yes, sir. Yeah, Alfredo? We really need, people who were to try, give us help with business development. So you'd be directly reaching out to potential spo
nsors, companies to do partnerships and other relatives with us. And then also, it, are, we are a DOD skill bridge approved organization. So we help. Companies, to add sponsors. For a skill bridge so that people can go and do the last 6 months on active duty with a company of their choosing. And we need more volunteers in the skill bridge section. To help facilitate. So if you're knowledgeable about Skill Bridge, what you want to become knowledgeable. We have one of the best people in the world,
that's skilled rich advocate Dave Chance who knows everything. Wonderful value. And he would be, he'll be your director and be able to teach you everything you need to know about Skillbridge. And I'll tell you what, my last job at military hiring accelerator. I was charged with building their skill bridge program. So I actually got paid for that. So a lot of companies are hiring for people at no skill bridge because they want to build their own programs so you can come on best industry for free
learn how to do it and then that's another skill set you have that you can potentially get in full-time career doing. Right. So, there you go. Yes. Alyssa, thank you, Brian. Thank you for that. Matt, what do you got? So I'm mostly just wanna highlight a few organizations that help me out during my transition and few things too so because I'm not really in the breakout room so it's hard to to explain like so I did you know 20 years in the morning core to transition out during live 2021 so I one
of those I'd like to learn find things to, you know, prove myself and help other people out. So, utilize a lot of different, organizations that we're also speaking here today, a few that weren't. So like a leader transition, to do a class called changing focus from It's a great program. It helps help me out understand how to. Transition, you know, fix, change my mindset and a lot of things that. Still trying to fix a lot too, cause sometimes you know. If you've been around Marines, we're very st
ubborn sometimes, not all the time, but you know, so, but there's a lot of other things in those type of classes that help out. Another one is a William Warrior project or a great one is a William Warrior project or a great program organization helped you out there's a great program organization helped you out there's logs and things they can do Team R with R WB. It's very, you know, do a lot of different things to do, you know, exercising, meeting up and non networking events to Travis Mannion
Foundation, great volunteer network. Lost stuff to do with families and and just training opportunities around and another organization that I spend time too that helped me. Do, conditional flush up on the hills, hillets. Located in the D in the area. So if you're in DV area, they do social networking events. There's one coming up near the end of the month. If not, if you're not in the area, just come down, take a look. There's a lot of opportunities to serve as a veteran. Spouse, you know, fami
ly member on the hill to help. Change a lot of stuff that's going on the hill because there's not a lot of veterans on the hill that I found out. Like one office I worked for, there was only myself. All in the DC office as a veteran, maybe 2 in the state office. So it's in good opportunity to learn how to. Work in that that environment so another thing too, so I work right now with apartment state there, or my office is looking for any type of skill, but people come work. Just don't, you don't h
ave to be that particular office because this is the office of regional security arms transfers. I can post more stuff on the chat about it but there's We can point in the right direction, get you one, order to be in the state department, to utilize that services. I can. I'll point you, Portugal, and be, but other than that. Other than the resources I talked about and the ones you saw here, I utilize a lot of them. Doing much as, and then volunteering to get back to as well. It's been very helpf
ul in helping a lot of new people. It's been very helpful in helping, you know, all new people and build that connections. Because like everybody knows me, I'm quite, but, I'm pretty much everywhere. For some reason, everybody knows me. I'm quite quiet, but, I'm pretty much everywhere. For some reason, everyone says that. I And then I'm done. Because you are everywhere, everywhere we go, we see you. Okay. Thank you, Matt, for speaking long enough for me to run to the bathroom. Hey, okay, Lee's g
ot his hand up. Hi, yeah, thanks. Thanks for let me have a question. Brian, when you were talking about for the, skill bridge for vets to industry. Would Would this industry be open to hosting a career forward, fellowship member with hiring our heroes? Cool, career forward, what I don't know what that is, I'm sorry. So, so Skill Bridge is a program that allows people to basically just have this paid internship is paid fellowship. Since I've been out for a while, I don't actually qualify for Skil
l Bridge, but I have been actively available for Skill Bridge, but I have been actively available for what's called career forward which is also done through hiring our heroes for what's called career forward, which is also done through hiring our heroes. They do skill bridge and a handful of other ones but this is also done through hiring our heroes they do skill bridge and a handful of other ones but this is a program that allows individuals to upskill in different aspects. Nice. Yeah. I actua
lly just completed my Google career certificate and data analytics. Thank you. So I'm just, When you were talking about volunteering and just options with Skill Bridge with the vets to industry, I was curious as to if, you guys would be open to discussing hosting a career forward fellow because that would be an 11 week up to an 11 week fully paid fellowship hosted through hiring our heroes and career forward. Allowed. Yeah, I just need to know more about it. Make sure that we, you know, where th
at we can do that Oh, thank you. Okay. Okay Words are hard for me. So that yeah, if we're allowed to do it, definitely reach out to me, offline and let's get out of call. Yeah, for sure. You know, teach me more and see what the what you know what the reg say or whatever. Out not rex but what the rules are about it and and yeah, we could definitely host people to do volunteer works if you get paid for that's even better. Yeah. But skill bridge you don't get paid so those people if you are in last
6 months of that view you cannot receive pay. There was no stipend. Oh, it that makes sense because you're still on on a government dime. No, cause again, you get, it's because you're getting paid. Right, exactly. Yeah, yeah, but if it does career forward, if you get paid. And you need someplace to land. Heck, yeah, I'm all about helping everybody we can. Let's get everybody paid. Let's do it. And I actually. Recently spoke with Alyssa on LinkedIn. We do we did recently got connected through Ma
rk. Hi Mark, thank you for getting me pointing in a different direction with some of these other individuals. I really appreciate that. But yeah, so there's a couple of different programs. I'm looking at different things like business analytics that analytics. We have that. Yeah. Yeah, we have a whole data analytics team. I also have a very deep. Awesome. That'd be super cool. I have a That would that would be really, really cool. I have a very deep background and operations management, risk and
compliance and things like that and operations management, risk and compliance and things like that and operations management, risk and compliance and things like that. And I'm just working on upscaling in technical and technical aspects. Perfect. Let's, let's connect offline. Cool. Thank you. You are. Awesome, that's exactly what happens in the breakout room. So hopefully, those of you, cause we're getting ready to get to our breakout room here in a couple of minutes. Saw exactly what just hap
pened. Literally, that is exactly how you do it. You reach out, you ask a question. You get an answer. And hopefully it's the answer you're looking for. Chip! What you got brother Yes, Alfred. I appreciate it. I'm getting ready to put a comment in the chat Right now, this is taken directly from a federal vacancy announcement. And it goes into what you guys were talking about about volunteer positions. It says experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through t
he national service programs, philanthropic organizations, religious, spiritual, community, social, student organizations, volunteer work, builds, valuable training and experience that prevents late directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including all your volunteer experience. When you list that in your resume and I see a lot of people make this mistake when I get their resumes, they just give me a list of their organizations. You need to look at just li
ke a job. What did you do? How did you do it? What are the results? Put it in as a specialized experience. Don't just list it under volunteer stuff on the last page. Really sell yourself on it. I've done a lot of volunteer work that sells and gets got me into jobs that I've gotten over the years. Make sure you put that in there. The other thing I will say. Is if anyone also, if you have experience in developing a skill bridge program and you want a skill bridge opportunity with FEMA, I am lookin
g for people that have that experience to bring on and work on my team to market Skillbridge to other sections within FEMA. I just want you to know, Chip, that I ran the. Do you skill bridge program in Virginia. I help develop it. So. Yeah, we need to talk. I didn't real, yes. Okay. We need to talk. Cause we're looking for skill bridge and I'll even do that through hiring our heroes if I have to, but I want to really give people that opportunity. So if you're getting the experience volunteering
with V twoI before you get into your Skill Bridge era and then you want to do skill bridge later, I'm willing to talk to you guys about that. Yep. Yeah. I need that opportunity. And I want to help you guys get those positions. I definitely want to talk to you about that. Yep. And you can volunteer. Yeah, you could volunteer prior to doing any skill bridge. If you've got 3 or 4 years left in the military, you don't have to wait to use Skillbridge to volunteer with vest injury. You get the time an
d you want to build the skill sets up now, go ahead and volunteer. I only require 1 HA week in volunteer. That's it. To be considered. Well, if you're doing it, if you're doing it 3 years before you need to put it on your resume 1 HA week is you know that's 365 h. Yep. A year times however many years. That's significant. That's significant. So, so make sure that you take advantage of that. Of volunteering again with us would be great. But would whoever okay especially if it's gonna help you with
the skill that you're going to need later on. Okay. Before I go to you, Hope. And I want everybody after this after. Hope and Dan, cause Dan's gonna talk to us about. Sorry. Sorry about that. I just didn't want to get my food. Okay. Oh no no no no no you're good Chip But after Dan was going to talk to us about And yes, I'm putting you on the spot then. And I'm, and hope we're gonna go to the last breakout room. So I want you guys to get ready for that. I want you guys to really sell yourself. Y
ou just heard Lee. Celebrate. Sell himself into a way. Hopefully what could be a position with Brian. That you just, you just witnessed it. It just happened right in front of you. So, so there you go. There's your template. But what you're going to do in this breakout room. So go ahead, Dan. Tell me about No Alright, I thought I thought hope was going ahead of me. Anyway, alright, here we go. Vetterati, wwwwwwww. Dot com. It's a mentorship on demand. People have already If you join, it takes 15
min to fill the form out. And then you get to peruse everybody's sales pitch on what they're good at mentoring app. But in my case, so people may have, told you I've written an article or 2. All of the articles that I've written came out of discussions I've had up on Federatis so I've had over 350 calls on Betterati. And, through that I found trends on. Things that people don't talk about in tap. But things they ought to know like, did you know you could, Negotiate your salary and compensation p
ackage. When you join your company. The company offers you an offer letter and it's got all kinds of gibberish you don't understand you should probably have Somebody look at with you that understands it. You name it. I've got the link in the chat of my articles as well. But And then also if you have already. Transitioned out and have been successful we need Mentors in the system to help other people because again nobody should be transitioning alone. Awesome. Thank you. And for those of you who
really want to find out about . Is it worth it? What do you expect out of it? Talk to Dan. Dan is incredible mentor when it comes to discussing the PNP program. So make sure you reach out to him, on the Venerati website. Hope. Come on, girl. Okay, so I just wanted to pee back on what Chip was saying. In regards to federal resumes. So what he was saying there about putting in your volunteer experience. Yes, you do that. It's in the work experience section. Use the resume. Builder so you don't get
confused about where to put what. Always use the resume building inside of the system and add everything you've been doing because everything is important. I just had someone say to me recently, oh, that's customer service. From a long time ago and I have had more customer service since then but think about it like this if you work for a year at Burger King when you were a teenager. That's one year of customer service experience. And then, you know, well. You were in the military for a period o
f time. Everyone is your customer in the military, right? How many years was that? Okay, so let's just say it was 5. So now. It was 13, it was 13 is what it was. Hope. Well, I didn't, I wasn't calling you out. You just named yourself, mister. No, well, you know you. No point is What is that? As many times as you've done a thing, it adds to the number of years and months that you've done it, we give you credit for all of that in the federal government. Which means instead of having 3 years of cus
tomers experience, you can have 20. Who wouldn't hire a person with 20 years? That's why you put everything in that work experience section, including your volunteer work. And use the resume builder. That's all. Yeah, and hope was talking about me, but I'm 57 years old, so I got a whole lot of Custom service. However, you young ins But, but does it matter? I'm 52. No, no, okay, so then you 5, you're younger. I'm, so, anyway, but for you young ins, it definitely. Definitely, makes a difference, y
ou know, those of you who did for and out and you're looking for extra. You know, looking for that padding. That extra year or 2. Don't be scared to to go all the way back. All the way back as far back as you as you need to go to make sure that you meet. Those requirements. All right, Matthew! Yes. Yes, I am. Are you ready to send these beautiful people to one last breakout room? And then, Do me a favor, my friend. And send them away. Alright, sending it to the rooms. Awesome. Why do you think t
hat went? Awesome. Yeah. How actually interested in that career forward thing. Never heard of it. The career forward that Lee was talking about. Isn't that what? I already forgot about it. Yeah, I never heard of that. Okay. That you see that's the problem with me is that I forget about all this shit because I have cognitive issues, which I'm finally gonna go in for. Get, I got a MRI in 2 weeks. Yeah. Matthew, can you let yourself in? Yeah. And so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna leave my. Computer
on. Log in with my phone and still keep it. Me as a co-host, I can help push back together. Okay. If I'm not round, you, you can should be able to bring me back easily. Who me? It might be easier just to, make Alfredo host. Okay. And then Alfredo, make him co-host again. This is going to lose it. She I don't know how to, I don't know how to do any of this. What am I doing? I'll make I'll make it Oh, I don't think I can make it close. I can't. Oh shit, What? You wanna make, that make you as a ho
st, the host Brian or just Alfredo? Okay. Yeah, yeah, you can make me the host. That's fine. Already. Yeah. Hey, your beard grew back fast, dude. Yes, I don't like, Not a fan of technology. Told you, bro. I don't, Yeah. That's crazy. Now you look. Looks good. Thank you. Thanks. Thanks. I'm gonna, I got, you know. About another week and then I'm a trim it. One more time. So, make sure it all comes back even. Okay. Yeah, I'm gonna check in a couple of breakout rooms here. Yeah, go ahead. Can you b
e a co-host real quick on this one? Oh yeah. Which one? The Matthew Philippi events Okay. The one that is not co-host on already. Okay, so here's what I'm going to tell you to do, Alex. Alexander is I want to to look for Pamela here. Okay. And then send her a connection, a LinkedIn connection. Okay, oh, this is Pamela McCoy. So she just put her stuff. In the chat. So reach out to her. That you can continue the conversation, all right? Yes, I see. Okay. And Alexander, you can put your connection
in the chat, your URL, the LinkedIn URL. Okay, I'll put in here too. Right. Yes. Good. So that people can reach out to you. All right, ladies and gentlemen. This, we're coming up on the home stretch here. This is where I'm going to invite you. To come up and speak before the class. Alright, come up and do your 30 s pitch, but who's talk? Who? Okay. Alfredo? Can we mention the donation stuff? Real quick before people leave. No. No, you mentioned it. No, I don't want to. Okay. Good. It's your, thi
s is your stuff. I do things of mine. Alright. I right everybody so I think it's. Okay. We need help. Bye. Okay. Alyssa! Come on, open up your mic, Melissa. Brian doesn't know how to beg. I really don't. Okay, okay, that's fine. You talking about just the donation you want me to drop the link and everything? Just. Where's the link? All that good stuff. Okay, yes, I'll get that right now. So based. Okay, here. All right. Go ahead. No, go ahead. No, I was gonna say, we do have a donation link righ
t here. I'm gonna drop it in the chat. I'll say it and I'll say it. Okay, I'll say it. No, alright, stop, stop. And you know the nations are welcome. I don't know what you want me to say. Sorry, Daniel, and I'm not Usually I'm not the one that's doing the donation guys, I'm so sorry. I'll say it, I'll say it, Jesus, we're trying to give you some experience, but here you go. Okay, okay, let me see what you say and then I'll write it down. Look. Okay, check this out. So for those who don't know, V
2 I, that's the industry is a nonprofit. Okay, so that means that we run strictly off of donations. From, from everybody. Okay, from companies, to, the donations that you guys give us. So please. If you found this these last few hours to be beneficial to you. Or if you've been here multiple times. And have found the connections. Beneficial. We would like to keep this going. The only way to keep it going is for people to donate. Now you can do a recurring donation if you like. You can buy some o
f our swag. Because a portion of that money, goes, to to help run us. You can, if you're a company, please. You can sponsor one of these events. Or you can, you know, sponsor. The sponsor makes industry for the year. I mean, different kinds of things and you get all kinds of wonderful benefits to doing that. But even something as simple as buying one of our challenge coins. But buying a sweatshirt. Helps that's the industry stay alive. Helps us to be able to maintain our website. And it's 1,000
plus. Library. Of vetted resources that are at your fingertips. It helps us prevent, prevent, present our monthly. Networking events. Okay, which you've gotten at this point, hundreds of people jobs. Okay, and connected. God knows how many people too valuable resources that they needed. There's a lot of people here who've made wonderful connections and friendships. Okay, Hope White and I who who started. Really, she started Alfredo's coffee house. It wasn't me. She's the one who convinced me to
do it. And what, what do we add hope? 2 years, 2 and a half years, 3 years, 7 years, 158 years. I don't know. We're definitely a 3, but I don't know after that. Yeah, so for 3 years we've been doing this. And we've helped a bunch of people. That came out of here. People like Daniel. Who's given hundreds and hundreds of hours. On. Yep. A good chunk of when we got through here. You know, and of course, Brian who who felt this. Who felt this need. To to give back. To the community and to enlighten
people. About the resources that are out there and connect us all. He's the one who started this. Literally started this. Single-handedly, because he felt bad. About his, He felt bad. About his. About when he was. Wearing the uniform and not knowing the information. That is on that website. And he doesn't get it that you know you don't know what you don't know. Okay, but he made his business. To learn. And, and to present that information to you. So there's a there's a lot. That happens. And it
only happens because of companies like yours. And because of of people like you, veterans like you. Who donate. And again, whether it's a donation. Whether it's a sponsorship. Whether it's a. Whether it's buying something from the shop. All of that puts money. Into the coffers, which helps us make. Another event and there are times when we literally Don't know if we're gonna be able to put a vent a week before so. If you're going to donate, think about it, please. And yeah, and that's it. Is tha
t good enough, Brian? Yeah, I'm, to be honest, there's 35 people in here. So I feel like I could say this but We, I, had to pay this month by credit card in order to keep the VTI servers up and for this event to happen. I don't know what we're gonna do next month. We have less than a hundred $50 in our coffers because nobody donates or very few donate. And, we don't have any sponsors, lined up. So, If you know somebody even if it's not you if you know somebody or you know philanthropist or you k
now, a company that be willing to. Like we need the help desperately or else we won't have an event next month. That's really where we are right now. Yeah. And think and think about that. If you phone value here. Right? If you if you connect it to one person here. That's gonna help you. Move forward. Imagine that next month and, and we're not here. For that other person who might need. The person who helped you or Might need you. So please, do what you can. Tell your friends to donate you know i
don't want to yeah i don't wanna say Yeah. Yeah. We're very lean. We're very lean. We only need about 3,000 a month to pay for all our bills, but it's getting that, that's hard. Oh, yeah. Yeah, so I'm There so, Alyssa, did you see how to. Be humble when you ask. Yes, I'll try to. Well, you were doing that. I wrote up just a whole speech, you know, for the next time. Yeah. So I got you, but I definitely, I just wanted to say that one of the biggest things that can really help us is yes, donation
, donations would really help. That way we can continue just doing the work that we do, you know, Brian built this community pretty much purely on the fact that, you know, he saw disconnect and support, you know, and information and resources and he wanted to help out and created this and wanting to kind of bridge that gap, you know, for veterans and those, you know, in the community. And, you know, even though This is, I would say, one of, I think one of the best, you know, veteran organization
s that I've seen out there. And I'm really proud to be a volunteer with them. Our volunteer efforts are really great. But you know, most of all, sharing these events, you know, you get connected with a lot of us on LinkedIn. If you're, you know, able to and you know it's okay to you know if you're fine using your page that way I think sharing our events that we have these networking events are really important you know sharing any links telling your friends family or anybody else if you know any
other you know service members or veterans and things like that letting them know that you attended these networking events and say hey you know come along with me for the next event you know invite people to come with you and come check it out if you found, you know, like we said, if you found value in these networking events, you know, invite other people, to come with you and check these out and You know, we have really great things for 2024 and I would love to see that continue to grow and
happen and for new things to come in the future and I would Sure. hate for this or to just, you know, kind of drown because we don't we have what we need, you know, so It's just, you know, there's a lot of things, but I would say just sharing, you know, and getting the word out and spreading the word about V 2 I will greatly help us as well. Yeah, I'm not about just getting the word out. I'm about you guys giving 5 bucks Put it in there. 5, $10 a month. You know, really will help us. Okay. And g
uess what? Don't tell me that you that you are my and you give to the USO or you give to wounded warriors or you give to Gary Sinise they all got big corporate sponsors They all got people giving them millions of dollars. Okay, we get by on 5 and 10 bucks that you guys give us. so screw those guys. Yeah. Yeah, they help a lot of people, but, school, they, got the corporate backing. We don't. So, instead of giving them your 5 to 10 bucks, give it to us. We appreciate it. Paul, you had your hand u
p. Call them out. Yeah, brother, you said it. I was gonna do it if no one else was. You know, I'm a fundraiser, so I, you know, I, I can put together a spiel, but hey, look, if you give me 10 s, I'll tell you I'm a byproduct of vets to industry. Go ahead. If it wasn't for Daniel Powell and so I met on better audio wouldn't have known about the industry. My first one was the eleventh. Event. Was looking for a new career. Eventually it was your post office. Me? You posted on LinkedIn about higher
military. And Blood got a job. And then when it was a time to pivot again, it was because of Justin Pearson, let me know about, the military family advisory network got a job there so every time I've had the pivot it's because of that's the industry and that's why I'm back again quite honestly you know I'm using it as a resource so. That's my story. That's just a, onial for whoever needed it. Just wanted to share. Well, I appreciate that and I'm sure Brian would appreciate that if you put it. On
paper so that we get thrown up on the on the website. Yeah, there you go. Not only once, but twice, and he's back for a third time. So he's finding value. How he found value for me. I can't believe that Oh. Oh, come on. Yeah, the LinkedIn algorithm at work. That one time, that one time it worked. But yeah, you know, we appreciate that. This does work. Heather, I don't think Heather is here. You know she when she spoke about her company. First thing she said when she found 2 2 good solid employe
es from here. So for you recruiters, yeah, there are people here who are worth your time. You know, again, you know, Robert from Monday comes here over and over and over and over. He didn't need to. And yet he does. And I'm sure that there's some wonderful people who found employment because of the links that Robert puts out. You know, go ahead, Alexander. Yes, so I was just gonna ask you guys have a Facebook page. Brian, do we have a Facebook page? Yes, we do. Yes, we do. Yes, we do. Same. Okay
, the reason why I'm asking that is because I literally juice join the Agno Facebook page and they have over 70,000 people in there. Right, everybody, if everybody don't need $2 right there, it's a hundred 40,000. So all I'm saying is, you guys are helping a lot of people, in the military and everything. I'm sure everybody will not maybe not everybody will be willing to donate, but a lot of people will. And if you guys can grow and maybe, you know, the community and Facebook. That will be also a
n idea for, to. Yeah, and you know what and I appreciate that but we got 35 people right now. We got 35 people donate a dollar. Oh, $2, you know, I mean, so. No, not right now. How do we do it actually? So how do we donate? Brian will put the link in the, oh, actually, I listen probably will put the link. I've already put it there. I'll post it again. In the chat. And Okay, and of course hope who's right. But yeah, hey, listen. I understand if you're a transition service member and you don't hav
e the money, I'm not asking. You to, I I am. I am. I'll be the first one to tell you if you're transitioning service member who's getting value from here. And you can't donate, hey, cool. But think about that when you go into Starbucks. To get to get your triple, mocha latte double squirt with a with fresh, fresh cow juice added to it. Because you could have gone and and drink coffee from the MESSAX that one day. Okay. I'm just saying, you know? it one time. One time a month. Donate that coffee.
Donate that soda. Donate your donut money. One pack of cigarettes. Donate that money. Also, yeah, I'm and keep this. Organization running. So I'm a chip, did you have your hand up before? I was very late here, sir. Oh, he's on mute. Okay, so he's talking to somebody. Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Actually, and I was trying to see if she was still here. We had a conversation in our breakout room about networking and how to do it a more effective way. And one of the things I suggested is On my screensa
ver on my cell phone is my QR code for my LinkedIn profile. What I did was I took my cell phone, my, LinkedIn app. And I opened it up and I clicked in the search bar with no information typed in it. That's great. As soon as I did that, it puts a little icon in the right corner of your search block that shows, looks like a little QR code. If you click on that, it will show your picture, your profile information, and your QR code as the screen. I took a screenshot and saved that as my Off mode scr
eensaver. So that way whenever I'm anywhere at a job fair, whatever it may be and I want to connect with somebody, all I do is take my phone out, hit the power button, turn it on, and they're looking right at my QR code. So they can connect with me. It is an easy way to make sure you connect. You don't have to worry about carrying a business card or anything else. People get impressed when the fact that they can click with your QR code right away and connect with you. So if you're in the job see
k mode, if you're trying to build networks as you're trying to transition out the military. That's an easy way to make sure you have the ability to instantly connect with somebody. Even if you don't have your business card or your resume with you. No. Got it. That's amazing too. Because you never know when opportunity is going to present itself. You know, that's why we, that's why we talk about the 30 s elevator pitch, right? Is because you don't know when the opportunity is going to present its
elf and so somebody gets on the elevator when you're on there and they're going to the thirtieth floor and This is your time. You're time where you got, they're stuck with you. But 30 floors. What are you gonna tell? What are you gonna talk to them about? Okay, so now You have talked to him. Everything's great. They want to connect on LinkedIn. Right? To further the conversation. You don't have a card. Or you don't or or you have bad cell service. And you can't get to your linkage. If you do the
screensaver shot like Chip said. Right? You do the, yeah, the screen, shot. And you keep it as your default. Blank screen saver. Thing whatever you young kids in your internet and your computer savvy skills. But not you've got it right there, right? You've got it right there so that when you meet Chip. And Chip is like, yeah, man, you know what I really want to talk to you, but I can't right now. What's your what's your LinkedIn? You don't even have to, you don't even have to connect to it. All
you have to do is Put your phone on. And let Chip see that link, see that QR code. So, yeah, there's a great piece of advice and you wouldn't have gotten it if you weren't here and we wouldn't be here if we didn't get guides like you to donate. So yeah, you see how it's all tied together? It's beautiful. It's a beautiful thing. You're welcome. Thanks Chip for that for that piece of advice. Honestly, cause I'm gonna do that. Hope. Got your hands up. Okay, guys, my hands up. Listen. So I belong t
o a lot of groups on LinkedIn. She does. She does. I love the groups. So when you go into groups, they have this Wonderful features. It says ask a question. They have another one that's you can create a pole. So if you're up to it. If you feel comfortable with it, go ahead and create a poll. It goes directly to the, the higher part of the feed. So then it's not just a regular announcement that's down here that people are adding things and adding things. And so it it goes out to everyone they get
to make a decision to join the poll or not. So I just put one invest the industry, guess what it says? What? It says, make a donation. No, that's not exactly what it says. What I said was. How to say that's not a poll, that's a statement. That's okay. Well, I asked the question, are you able to donate $5 or $10 a month? I left it because not a lot of characters. So I put the link in there and then here's my poll. Yes. Then I say use the link today. No, next week. Maybe they get paid next week.
I don't know. When you can make a donation, it's simple. It's simple. So if you belong to a group that it's appropriate that you ask for donations for, I know people are skittish about that but we're trying to keep the organization together. Not just for today or next week, but long term. In addition to a cruise, who knows other things that can happen. If there were more funds. It's just simple. It takes money to do business. Whether it's a nonprofit or not is still a business that needs to run.
Right. It has bills like we have bills. So whatever creative thing you could think of to share with on LinkedIn or on Facebook. I'm running over to Facebook now and act now because I put a lot of junk in there usually about federal government jobs but today guess what I'm gonna talk about. Us, awesome. He, he has the golden kit ticket. That's just. It makes me have chills. You could do all kinds of things in the federal government with that. Do you hav
e a do you have a clearance? Okay. Oh no, that's the only thing that's Like my clearance expired, I've held it TS a secret and a public trust. If somebody is willing to pay for the SF. 86 to get processed, I can clear. Oh yeah. Yeah, okay. I'm a Okay, yeah, if anybody knows anyone. Who who will can reach out to or connect with. I do. n my town, I got to work at McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack in a Box. Okay, that is it. And then there's 2 grocery stores. So I have to work down the hill which is a hundred 32 miles away one way. But, I, there's a lot of organizations that you can find. By just doing a search, cause I found a bunch of Washington jobs. They just happen to be in Tacoma, you know, through Honda, but I guarantee if you reach out to JVLM because other employers go to their events. They're probably looking for jobs in ot
her states. Or in other cities. That's all I got. Thanks. Yeah, that's a boy. Like he said, think outside the box. Again, you said you're open to remote. Who knows of JBLM has or whatever the hell it is, might, if you're open to remote, who knows if JBLM has or whatever the hell it is, might have remote jobs. Okay, so, yeah, don't. You know, just cause they're not right by you doesn't mean that they don't have an opportunity for you. Also while you're at it, if you have, if you have IT experienc
e. Along with thinking outside the box. Go check out hospitals. Go, you know, go check out. Warehouses. Everybody's got IT. Yeah. Yeah, and ransomware is very high. Against hospitals. Yeah, yeah, cause everybody gets, everybody gets hacked. So, so, so think outside the box. You know, if there's a few warehouses around where you live, go talk to them. Excellent. They might be hiring a hospital, go talk to it. They might be hiring. Yeah, I've been networking and looking for a while. It's weird. Li
ke never in my life it working in IT has it been this difficult to find a job. Well, it's IT isn't the It isn't the automatic it used to be. Yeah Hey, I've, I've got a friend, the CEO of your post. Yeah, well here's the. Well, he's the man. Yeah, with Fusion. So here's the thing, when you guys connect. All right. Guess what's happening with a lot of these recruiters? Other people connecting to and if you're not engaging with him. You fall off the radar. And it's not because, and this is for everybody. You
don't fall off the radar because The recruiters don't care. You fall off the radar because you don't keep engaging with them. And other people are. So you just move back and back and back and back. So you. Do you? I'd go out and ride horses with it. Oh, you would, you would. As I say, you're only but yeah, make sure that in your case, will make it make sure that you reach him back out to him. Yeah. You know, and all you got to do is say, hey, Monty, you know, I was at the vets industry event on
Saturday and they brought you name back up and it reminded me that's industry event on Saturday and they brought your name back up and it reminded me, event on Saturday and they brought your name back up and it reminded me that we were connected and I haven't talked to you in Saturday and they brought your name back up and it reminded me that we were connected and I haven't talked to you in a way, your name back up and it reminded me that we were connected and I haven't talked to you in a while

I know they're very veteran friendly organization and military spouse organization and I can it looks like they have a hub right there in Atlanta, Georgia as well. This is the awesome thing about the networking events. It's not just going to be recr
uiters that can help you, but other service members and veterans who connect with recruiters that might not have jobs available for them. But them passing on that information to those in the networking events that could use it, just like Lee did. That's paying it forward, everybody. That's what this is about. Yep. And I'm looking more on well I'm looking for a wide range of things well first of all I'm based in Tucson Arizona I'm looking for anything from network to cybersecurity to developing more in the human machine interface. Side of things so I'm kind of leaning into the PMP area. Consultant type stuff but I feel like I need a little bit more. Assistance to build up to that gap. I'm very analytical. Unde
rstand that they I put stuff together really quick. And I'm also looking to build up some of my certifications. I am I kind of want to stay put in Arizona just because I got family here. I know she was on earlier and I think she's left out but Hey guys. Oh, thank you. Yeah, I'm glad you guys give us that option. To kind of shout out to folks that have been helpful. So my name is Heather Mcdaniel. I am a transitioning Air Force logistician looking to land in the Cincinnati area in aerospace defense for supply chain sustainment managemen
t. And just a little interesting tidbit. I was in Japan managing the search and rescue for foreign partners during the earthquake tsunami nuclear meltdown. And then I was in Egypt selling weapons to the Egyptians when snow fell onto her square for the first time in a hundred 6 years. And I was also in labor in Virginia when the earthquake broke the wash to monument. So I say all that to say that where ere I go. God makes stuff happen. Take that what you will. Right, but I'm here and I just got a
couple more months till I transition out and I'm excited about what the future hold. Here we go back to Egypt and you being an arms dealer. Lord of War. Yes, Nick Cage, Lord of War. There I am. Have you? Oh no, no, no, no, no, we're not. That's not that's none of our business. Yeah. That's none of our business. There are people out there who that's their business does not part of ours. Queen of of natural disasters have you decided to reach out to Chip? Who works for FEMA and who might be able
to, based on what you're saying, might be able to keep him employed. Yeah, definitely. Okay. Locate me. Yeah, locate me and you'll know where the next natural disaster is gonna happen. Yeah. Day away from Atlanta. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, through network, actually secured a skill bridge in the Cincinnati area, so I'm excited to start that in the next couple of weeks. But I'll keep chip in mind if I need to give FEMA heads up on the next. You know, big issue. So quick. Hey, they've got a lot of differen
t positions. Okay. So I have a quick recommendation here so it says you're in Charlottesville so if you want to be in Ohio you need to change your LinkedIn profile. Oh, Ohio. We'll do, yeah, so I'm currently kind of in between Richmond where I'm stationed and but I'm actually close to Charlottesville so for a while I Thank you. Right, but you don't want to work there. Yeah. True story, I'll get that changed. I thank you, Daniel. Yeah. Let us know where you want to be, not where you are. Yeah, ca
use that opens up to recruiters if they are doing keyword search looking for veterans in. Yep. Okay. This is a recent decision to go to Cincinnati, but yeah, I'll get that updated. Thank you. Okay, good. Cool. Okay. So Again, seriously. Talk to Chip. I'm sure that you've had a lot of disaster response. Okay, and not every job, you know, it's gonna require you to, you know, be boots on the ground of, of a bad situation. So. Do that. And again, Reach out to, you know, do what I'm. Dante said, whic
h is let people know where you want to go. Okay, because if I look there, if I was to look up your LinkedIn and I see Richmond, where I see Charlottesville, then that's why I think you want to go. Alright, so. Yes, yeah, he's back. Oh, by the way, it looks like Chip is back. For whoever we were referring chip to, I think it was a league laser maybe or somebody. Yeah. And might have been. However, there's Chip, so feel free to reach out to him. And I apologize, I lost signal here in Puerto Rico a
nd I took me a while to get it back up. Then my computer decided to reboot in the middle of all that you know how the government is mandatory reboot whether or not you're doing something or not. They did it for people all the time even for my own employees that were only making 11 bucks an hour. They were able to get their medical treatment at no reimbursable cost because there are hospitals out there that believe in that and we just have to find you a hospital that meets that criteria out in your area. And then maybe we can get you the help you need. But let's let me reach out to Rodney,
put him in touch with you. I want you to put your contact information in the chat so I can reach out to Rodney and connect you guys. There's the chat. What you need is a diagnosis. That's it. What you've done or what you haven't done. Okay, that's number one. Number 2 is your first is that if you get frustrated, that's fine. Don't raise your voice to people who are trying to help you. I understand your frustration. I was homeless. Yeah. And I'm that close from being living in my car. Okay, I was suicidal. I, I und
erstand. I understand that. Okay, however. There's resource for that. If people trying to help you, don't let your frustration turn them off into helping you. Yeah. Yeah, and you don't need to be talking about People, you were talking earlier, I left the room because you were telling that we had to donate money that I don't have. I, well, no, I didn't say you had to. I didn't say you had to. Okay? And if you can't donate money. Then don't. Okay, you didn't have to leave the room. You chose to le
ave the room. Oh, you. Well, you got me mad. Cause you talked about money. What? Why did I get you mad? Because I'm asking for donations. Okay, and. I don't have money. No, I know that. Okay, guess what? You're not the only one who doesn't have money. All right, so then don't get mad. And don't get upset. Everybody here is trying to help you. No, Brian, no, Brian. Alright, let's stop. Alfredo. I'm not gonna stop. Brian, let me finish what I'm saying. I'm gonna leave the room again, afraid of jus
t running this dag in mouth. Oh, the most. Okay. Okay, listen, the most important thing for you, Carrie is to get the resources. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm sorry. Doesn't you don't need you don't need money Would you know, but you probably there, are you by yourself? I love by myself. Yeah, so that's where it gets even worse because you don't have anyone to talk to about it. That's why we have the coffee house. That's what goes on in the coffee house because you gotta get it out. Yeah, an
d he has the coffee house while I'm at church. Well, I'm there too. Okay, all right. Well, you know what I'm, I'm hearing excuse after excuse after excuse. Yeah, bye everybody. Alfredo! Alfredo. Bye. And, all right, take care. Okay. I just connected you with Rodney Washington and he's trying to help you. Al. Please. He left. He left. He left. Sorry, Brian. Let me let me put let me put one thing. Great with everybody. Okay. If you are going to play the victim. If you are going to sit here and con
tinue and and and I am not Brian I am not hope. I have been through it all. I have. I don't fucking say that. For the hell of it. Did we people are here to help you? They're not here to, to, to, to coddle you. Especially if you're gonna keep taking your anger out. On other people, those who are trying to help you. And I'm sorry, Brian, but that's the one thing I don't have time for. I don't. So. Jessie. Jesse, come on and tell us what you got first, please. Yeah, just, moment. I'm currently doin

You have to consider. The resumes that you're sending. You have you need to be qualified for the job that they're offering to you in the federal government is not like a situation where you can show up and say, oh, I'm a quick learner and all those things. You have to qualify ahead of time. And so the
resume that you're using is. Everything. You will never get to sit at the table with anyone or being a Zoom room if you don't have a qualifying resume. If you're using the same resume over and over again and it is not getting you the results that you need, you need to work on your resume. And I know it's not easy. I know. There are people who can help you with that. I'm just saying, I guess that would be me. And yes, and hope is one of those people can help you with that. Yes. Oh, that would be
me. So I don't want you to get your hopes up high and. You know, go through all this process with check just for them to figure out right before you are hired that you're not qualified for the job. On paper. We know, okay, up here you know you're qualified. What does your resume say? So, you know, please, connect with me. Let's have a conversation about these resumes. I'm sorry. I'm looking at one. I'm not gonna look. Please do connect with me and let's talk about your resume before or you have
the go to the April event the chip is talking about or you will be for not. Yes. Okay. And hope aren't you having a federal resume writing course soon? I wasn't, but I feel like I have to. I wasn't, I was, I have I'm on my desk right now, filling out all these things my whole year on all these other HR things in things in for the federal government but now it's like okay darn it. Okay, I have no choice. So, so Ginger, make sure, yeah. Did you make sure that you're talking to Hope and I'm get wh
atever hopes she'll give you until she gets that resume writing course done. Okay. Thank you. Which she'll be presenting probably real soon. Okay. Right. Like everybody into this conversation, I'm on it. I think that Hope was talking to 3 different people all at once. I, and I hope all of that wasn't directed right at Ginger. No, I haven't seen Ginger's resume or exchange conversations with her. I was not singling out Ginger's resume or exchange conversations with her. I was not singling out Gin
ger. I was singling out Dan Collins. Because I'm serious. People are using. Right, I got that. But you, but you hammered us all. You can. I know, I got it, but that happened right after Ginger's pitch. Yeah. Oh, I didn't notice that. I just, my screen started popping up with people talking to me. It's so troublesome. I love him. Okay, okay, Jacqueline. Okay. Okay, Jacqueline. I'm sorry that I refer people to you. All right, well, you know, I just want to say I would be remiss if I didn't say tha
