Also move consumption towards investing in humans - the arts, the sciences, sports, experiences, human services instead of the lazy politics of more consumer goods and an endless "housing boom"
The moral tenets I believe tell me to treat others the way I want them to treat me, to tithe a tenth of my income, and to never steal. I notice that Jesus didn't tell people how to change the government -- he told them how to change themselves. I don't listen to people who tell me to create a government designed to steal the property of one person and "redistribute" it to another. Actions that are intolerable from an individual -- like stealing -- are also intolerable from a government. Stories of many big and small businesses have taught me that it is easier to disrupt a market than it is to compete with its powerful incumbents. Likewise, I believe it is easier to opt out of a corrupt system than it is to try to topple it. If many people feel they are exploited by a corrupt system, it seems more efficient for them to band together and devise a way to opt out of it, collectively building a more efficient system together that they can use to replace it. So instead of stealing resources from the corrupt, why not create something new and mutually beneficial to its members that simply excludes the corrupt? The benefit of this latter system is that you can start with yourself and build it one person at a time, and you never have to focus on exploiting or stealing from anyone else.
