🤯 6 GAME CHANGING Canva Updates You Need to Know About! | CANVA AI & MORE (Part 1)

Alright, we need to talk about these new Canva updates because they are complete game-changers! o, but this one is on another level. I’m here to help you discover some of the most recent exciting updates that you can use TODAY to make your designs more engaging faster than ever. As it’s only been a week since these were launched, chances are you haven’t heard of them yet! Create an Animation This feature has GOT to be my favorite out of the bunch! We

now have the power to create our own custom animations and it’s a complete game changer for all of us who don’t really know how to animate in After Effects. Now, all you need to do is to select your element, by the way, it works with text, photos, and videos too, then click animation from the top panel and select Create Animation. From here, we’re going to drag our element to create the path for the animation and release. It’s really as simple as that! And from the slider, you can adjust the sp

eed. If you’re not happy with your animation, just click “Delete Path” at the bottom and start over. You can also hold Shift for straight lines while animating. When you’re ready, hit done and enjoy your completely custom animation. It’s mind-blowing! Also, it’s worth noting, it’s available for all users so the free plan gets access to it too! , we’ve got plenty more to get through, so let’s jump to the second update… 2. Magic Design This one is so so useful, especially if you’re not feeling particularly inspired and don’t want to start from scratch. With the sheer amount of templates available in the Canva library, it’s not always easy to find the right one fit for the purpose but that’s where Magic Design comes in! Let’s go to the Templates tab from the Homepage to see what it can do. Click Try Magic Design and a box pops up. Here,

you can upload your image, wait a moment and see what Canva whips up for you. From there, you can provide your headline, add a theme or a vibe and change the styles from the suggestions below. As you can see, Canva updates the suggested templates for you based on what you’ve chosen and then you can keep clicking to see if there’s anything you like. Although Magic Design is free for all Canva users, remember that it pulls suggestions from the whole library meaning that some templates will be free

and some Pro only. I love Magic Design because it’s really useful for those days when you’re really stuck and want to introduce some freshness into your creative thinking. I’ll select this one right here, then click Customize this template, and then of course as with any design, I can make it more on-brand, switch up some elements and insert my words into it. Now, I couldn’t see a limitations counter anywhere for the Magic Design but there’s been info circulating that it has a limit of 30 uses

for Free users in total and 60 monthly for Pro. Couldn’t confirm it so far but if I do, I’ll make sure to leave it in a pinned comment and in the description box! Alright, let’s continue in the same vein, we’ve got our third update… 3. Magic Presentations + Magic Layouts You probably know this feeling when you sit down to work on your presentation, open up your tool, and then proceed to stare at a blank page for quite some time… Starting from scratch is hard enough, but then you have to organize

the talking points in a cohesive manner too, and represent them visually on the screen. Well, that’s where another portion of Canva Magic comes in. With a simple AI prompt, you can now generate a whole presentation deck within seconds and usually, it’s a pretty good first draft too! Let’s start with a blank presentation template from here, we’re in the editor, and in the left panel, we have our Design tab at the very top. From here, the first tab is the Templates tab and you’ll find the Present

ation Magic Design right there. Let’s click, now Canva asks us to enter a prompt, you can try an example to have fun with it, but let’s say I want a presentation on “The impact of social media on body image and self-esteem.” After a moment, a box similar to the Magic Design pops up where you can choose the style you want to adopt for this subject. I quite like this one right here, so I’m going to choose it and preview it on the right side too. It could do with a bit of tweaking of course, but I’

m very happy with this rendition. If you’re not, you can always start again from here and tweak your prompt, but I’m going to create my presentation now, and here’s our full deck which, surprise surprise, has some engaging animations too. You could start working on it as is, but I want to show you another nifty little update that takes this whole thing to the next level and that’s our layouts panel here at the top. Now, Canva also has the power to suggest specific slide layouts for you based on

the contents of your current slide. I’m happy with this one but I think these two could use a bit of an upgrade since they’re quite repetitive. Ok, how about this one? Brilliant, yes, I can definitely work with that! And of course, don’t forget the Styles tip I’ve shared many times before, which you can use to quickly apply your vibe to the whole deck. That’s definitely another great innovation for the presentation space within Canva and available to free users too! And now, while we’re at it, l

et’s move on to update no. 4 4. Canva Assistant When we were working on our presentation, you might have noticed this little cute icon here in the bottom right corner of the editor. This is our new Canva Assistant which is a seemingly small tool that has great power to help us transform our designs. Let’s click on it and voila, we can put more Magic into our work. Depending on what you’ve got selected or not selected when you're simply in the editor, you’ll have different suggestions here. First

of all, it instantly sees that we’re in a presentation template so it suggests Magic Design for Presentations but we’ve just covered that. Let’s then look at the second one and here it’s worth noting that what you know as Magic Write from Canva Docs has now been introduced across the board globally in all the different places around Canva. We can use this one to generate something new for us like a list of tips, or a paragraph talking about a specific point but I want to show you the suggestion

s when I select an existing piece of text and then utilize the Assistant. Now we have a few cool options like summarizing or expanding which is great for when you need a bit more or a bit less text for your design. You can use rewrite to paraphrase, fix any mistakes and change up the tone a little bit. Super cool! Magic Write is available to anyone but be very mindful that free users only get 25 uses of this tool in total. That’s quite a limit so use it well. For Pro users, it’s 75 uses per mont

h so you get plenty of chances to play with the tool and make it work for you too. When you expand, you can see all the other suggested actions you may want to take quickly and you can search for something specific in the top bar too. But when you scroll down, this bit right here is what I love most! Based on

the existing design, Canva now suggests graphics and photos to match it and it’s so useful! Gone are the days of scrolling to find similar photos to match the style. You can just use the Assistant and see what you can find using Magic Recommendations. For my social media presentation, it suggested some more photos from the same photo shoot which is so cool because it can create a more cohesive feel to the whole design! There’s definitely more to the Assistant so I encourage you to test it out on

different elements or designs and see what it can do for you, but in the meantime, let’s jump to update no. 5… 5. Translate If you’re multilingual or create content for international audiences, you’re going to LOVE this one! You can now translate whole designs with just a few clicks! To do this, go to Apps, scroll down, and find Translate, or, better yet, just pull up the Assistant and search for it there. Choose the languages you want to translate from and to and select the page to apply it to

Also, take a quick look at the settings we’ve got here: you can choose to reduce font size to fit the design if the translation is longer than what you had there initially and you can choose to duplicate the page when translating so that you keep the original intact as well. Ok, let’s go back, hit translate, and… HERE’S OUR TRANSLATION READY within seconds. Also, as a native Polish speaker, the translations are really good so no complaints from me on that front! This option is also available b

ut heavily limited on the free plan, It’s currently giving you only 50 free uses in total. With Pro, it’s 500 that refresh every month. Yay, we’re moving fast, we’re now at update no. 6… 6. Improved Text to Image Text to Image also just got an upgrade and we can now generate images in more styles and ratios too. We’ve got 3D, dreamlike, retrowave, filmic and my personal favorite, watercolor - I know, I’m basic like that. Let’s try an example here because I’m not feeling particularly creative her

I’ll go for dreamlike landscape, let’s generate… and here it goes, we’ve got 4 examples, you can always tweak the prompt, choose a different style and generate again but I’m happy with this one so click and it’s added to my design while also uploading to my account so I can use it in the future too.
