70 घंटे काम? सावधान! | Narayana Murthy: Work 70 hours a week

Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0yXUUIaPVAqZLgRjvtMftw/join Disclaimer: The owners reserve the right to any corrections that may be needed to be made to the translated subtitles. Hello, I’m Ravish Kumar. When inflation & unemployment rise in the country, as also communal politics, it is the best time to lecture the youth. Even though Indian youth are unable to find employment, there’s no dearth of lectures on employment from here & there. In 2019, PM Modi lectured the youth that ‘frying pakodas’ is employment too; in 2023, Infosys founder Narayan Murthy has lectured that they should work for 70 hours a week. Just look at people’s shoes: people's slippers are all worn out
, their shoes, mostly duplicates, these are the feet of countless Indians. The purported glory of India, where people barely make Rs 25,000 a month, reflects more accurately in these feet. In April this year, Jayati Ghosh & CP Chandrashekhar stated in their Hindu Business Line report that self-employed category Indians are not engaged in the work of their choice. But they have no option. Compared to the period between April–June 2019, the self-employed sector earnings were much less in June 2022
. They earn just about enough to survive. This is how Indian feet will look when they earn at subsistence levels. The report also carried the economist Jayati Ghosh's statement that 'you are looking at per capita income at current prices'. 'If you look at the inflation with this figure, 'you will find that this increase is quite meagre. In fact, the incomes of most Indians are declining. Don't talk about earnings, or their decline; only talk about working hours. Don't talk about not finding work
. Have these people accepted and is it true that religious politics has left Indian youth incapable of thinking, so now they can be lectured on just about anything. Anyone who feels they haven’t been lectured enough must contact Narendra Modi & Narayana Murthy. Actually, let’s read the sentence where Murthy espoused 70 hours work week: And what I want is the viewers to focus on the ‘this is my country’ part. Does the same apply to Narayan Murthy, that this is his country? Then, he should employ
engineers on higher salaries. But all he has done is justify what is wrong in the name of the nation. Why doesn't Narayana Murthy say instead that: this is his country and how dire it is that, 80 crore Indians are dependent on free food grains? That their economic state is extremely poor? Is this because youngsters do not work 70 hours, or does is it owing to the economic policies through which big industrialists get richer and most people get poorer? Narayan Murthy did not tell the big industri
alists that they should say that 'this is our country', 'we will repay the loans worth Rs 14.5 lakh crore' because if the poor fail to repay, their land, even their shirts are auctioned off. This is Trinamool Congress MP Jawhar Sircar's tweet. On the basis of RBI data, he says that Rs 14.5 lakh crores has been wiped off in 9 years. This is 7 times more than the 10 years before 2014. Internationally, if 1.5% loans are not repaid, then it is not considered very bad, but under Modi government, bad
loans were around 7–11%. Any amount above 1.5% is loot. What opinion does Narayan Murthy or other industrialists have on this? Why don't they lecture the industrialists that repay all the loans on time, money will flow into the economy and money will reach the youth? In this era, who is saying what; from where are arrows fired, and for who, better keep your eyes and ears open. And watch this video from Lucknow. The generous GOI is selling onions at Rs 25/ kg & the kind public is queueing to buy
onions. Queueing up for tomatoes too, this public had proved that whenever it gets a chance of queuing, it will not disappoint. Laodog (godi) media will not report this, but the financial state of these people can be gauged from this queue. Call Narayan Murthy and give these people a lecture. These people, working on limited and poor wages, have turned from young to old, in fact, even the young look old, like me. We don't know exactly what happens when onion goes expensive, we don't even know i
f the poor/ labor class satisfy their hunger munching onion kachoris. How expensive will their kachori become, especially today when commercial cylinders are dearer by Rs 100. How will this impact your onion kachoris and samosas? What impact will it have on the people who survive by eating roti & onions? These people are excluded from the media and a rosy picture of India is being projected, which is only waiting for temple inauguration. It does not care for things like incomes or employment. We
will discuss this Narayanspeak of 70 hour week in our video today, but we will also give you glipses of the queue-loving Indian public. There is a public in Lucknow queuing up for onions, and another in Mumbai for exchanging Rs 2000 notes. This public did not speak, but watch this 2-min video patiently, you will find that there is a queue within you, just like a lyricist had once seen 'fakeeri' within a certain someone.... In this video, you see the queue: We are only using the sound of ambulan
ce siren in this video, to show that the people of this country are now in a comatose state, but if they are put in a queue instead of a hospital, they will likely feel better. In our video on 26th Oct, we had shown a similarly beautiful queue outside the RBI in Delhi. Just as the media has made this queue disappear, similarly, the people queueing here have erased its questions from within themselves. Thanks to our Mumbai viewer who has recorded for us this video of that missing creature called
'public'. This video too was recorded today in Chandigarh. The queue here is shorter, but here too, people are exchanging the Rs. 2000 notes. Narayan Murthy should say that being made to queue up, how many hours of his work were wasted? But, well... this is not the public anyway. if it was, it would question. At least, it would have tweeted. Narayan Murthy would never say that the time of so many people queueing from hospitals to the RBI is being wasted. The government should give compensation.
There are 168 hours in a week, worthies like Narayan Murthy have no locus standi; some day they could even claim that sleeping or bathing hinders national development. The PM doesn't sleep either but only works incessantly. ;) Those whom you heroise, one day make you into a zero. This is Mumbai local, when I recorded this, it was 4:45 in the morning. We all know that lakhs of Mumbaikars use this to reach work. Besides the work itself, people in every city spend 2–3 hours commuting. These hours
should also be considered part of working. But that's not the case. We do not know if the Mumbaikar who rises at 4AM to leave for work, works till he goes to sleep or returns after eight hours. What would be the condition of his sleep in the day, their low earnings force them to work 2, even 3 jobs. You cannot lecture people who already work more than 70 hours that this is your nation, you should work for seventy hours. What do the industrialists think? That no one is awake inside this train, mo
ving even before sunrise? Has everyone surrendered their brains under the hangover of religion? Even though industrialists and politicians think that this is how people are, they'd better not remain in this illusion for long. The nation also belongs to these industrialists, when the GOI reduced the corporate tax right before elections in 2018, they wasted no time welcoming the move. Why did they not say then that the common people deserve tax relief more? That they do not have time & money for t
heir life and family, In 2015, Murthy had said that if rich people pay more taxes, then the financial state of the country can improve. He even demanded higher taxes for high-income individuals. Did Narayana Murthy oppose the corporate tax hike in 2018? Did his company reject the cut? We did not get any information on this. A lot has been published on Twitter & some media reports on the starting salaries at Infosys & other IT companies. Narayan Murthy has given an interview to Money Control. We
have taken this information from Money Control's research. In 2012, a fresher at Infosys could get Rs.3.45 lakh/ year. That implies less than Rs 23000/month. In that year, the CEO got Rs 80 lakh per year. 10 years on, a fresher's annual income increased to Rs 3.60 lakh. or Rs.30000/month. And the CEO Salil Parek's income in FY-2022 was Rs 79 crore! More than Rs.6.5 crores/month! Last year, there was some cut in his income and he got Rs 56.5 crores. In the period where the CEO's income increased
by 835% (read that again!) the fresher's income went up only 45%. The salary of a fresher joining Infosys today, has their salary increased or decreased compared to 10 years ago? Narayan Murthy will never open his mouth on this; but we will. Today you see a number of youth doing home delivery work, they work very hard, from morning till evening, still cannot earn a respectable income. Look at any delivery boy/ girl who comes to your house, you will see how hardworking these youth are. They work
more than 70 hours a week for 'their own country', but is their country able to give them a respectable life? Ask a salesgirl or boy at the mall their salary, how long they've been standing hours on end without a break do ask them, and you shall know. Their average salary is not even Rs 20000/month. We had analysed protests in France in an earlier video for you. The government is not in a position to give pensions, so they made a straightforward rule that for getting full pensions, people will
have to work a few more years, but people took to the streets. Fierce protests ensued across France, Narayan Murthy should have gone there and given a lecture, that French people should work for not 1, but 3–4 years more, so they can get their pensions. There are debates raging in the world that working hours need to be cut, time should be given to family after work, work-life balance is essential, but in India, this debate is deliberately thwarted; people are somehow entangled within nonissues
of religion/ temple.... to exploit them to such an extent that they don't even get time to sleep. Narayan Murthy must not have seen this India. Ask this India, what does 'city'/ 'metropolis' mean? This appears to be a township within the metropolis, where life is visible in the silence of the night. People work for long hours in these small shops. They work without any breaks. There is no family or holiday in their life, today's India is in the grip of a politics that carps about family values,
bemoans the extinction of the family-institution, is concerned for religion, but ask that political model: if people work 70 hours a day, where is the time for family? Will this politics oppose Narayana Murthy's statement? Quite the opposite happened! It remained mum as these industrialists too... no longer question the government on anything; they remain silent. There is a law in France that you cannot contact an employee after office hours, this law is aimed to ensure family time for the emplo
yee. In fact, this makes the work more productive. In 2021, a law was passed in Portugal by which: no phone calls could be made from the office after office hours. If a call is made, the office will be penalised. Those whose parents are elderly will be allowed to work from home; the company would foot the internet bills for those working from home. How many companies in India pay power or internet bills? All this has been done in France & Portugal so a worker can live a happy life. The world is
making such rules that if an employee has a child, they can work from home till the child turns 8. That's in Portugal. Here in India, the debate is on turning humans into bulls. We know well how hard Indians work, they persevere even in the harsh weather here and wear out their flesh & bones in work. Do these people ever get some rest? For them, rest only means that they did not get work today; might have to stay hungry. This is the experience of most Indians. According to a report by the Intern
ational Labor Organisation, Indians are among the most overworked people in the world. They are overworked and earn less than the minimum wage. There is no beating the hard work of these people sleeping on Delhi footpaths, just that they've no idea of one Narayan Murthy, lecturing the youth to work for 70 hours. These friends asleep on this cart also don't know that, in the name of debate, nonsense is going on in India. In 2019, the GOI made a new labour code in India, –labourers are probably un
aware– under which maximum 12 hours work can be done per day, & a maximum of 48 hours/ week. But Murthy is talking against this code, saying work for 70 hours. Companies have their own laws, and new ways are found to ensure that people don't get overtime. But crores work hard on these roads full time without overtime. There was a report that said that most Indians don't earn even Rs25000/ month, to this extent, we are a poor country. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar's statement is that India's per
capita income is not even $2000. Why is it so? Why don't the corporates give a good salary? On this, Narayan Murthy will probably be left mumbling. So, the 70 hours debate is both dangerous & useless. There are so many real things to talk about: job contracts are bad, only contractual jobs are on offer, permanent jobs are being decimated, but Narayan Murthy will never talk about this. Now we have ample research that due to excessive work, people become victims of depression. Depression among wom
en who work more than 55 hours/week is also high. Women working 30–40 hours are less likely to suffer from depression. You are not allowed to access correct information. A Narayan Murthy can get away with all the moonshine he wants, and you start reading biographies of such worthies. Do read, but with some critical filters and questions, only then you will learn more from their life. In his interview to Money Control, the gent said that after World War II, the German leaders sat down with indust
rialists & decided that the country needs rebuilding. For this, every German will work more for a few years. If this comes to you, you will obviously accept it as true but the truth is something quite different. Jayant Pankaj wrote in Hindu Business Line on Nov 1 that Murthy's statement about Germany & Japan is not completely correct. There is a website named Our World in Data; after studying its data, Jayant Pankaj has said that the working hours in Germany decreased significantly since 1951. J
apan also saw fluctuations in working hours over a ten-year period. So, in these nations, there seems no direct link between working hours & productivity. Talking about today's Germany, there is a Financial Times report from 2018. The demands of Germany's largest trade union were accepted and a 28-hour working week was approved. 28 hours of maximum work in a week. Besides, their incomes increased by 4.3%. This agreement was made between the big industrialists & workers. We hope Infosys folks do
not work 70 hours, else they should write a letter to Narayana Murthy that they want to work 70 hours for the nation, please reduce our salary further. Yeah, you got that right! You never know with people today! They can easily say 'cut our salaries'! just like Murthy said that youth should work for 70 hours! As if the youth are inundated with jobs. There is a limit to even bogus talk. We want to tell you about a 1940 incident. At that time, Britain's Supply minister had made an emergency decisi
on that people need to work full seven days of the week. People thinking like this have been around since that far back! Against this, in its 30 August 1940 issue, The Spectator wrote that it is a known fact, researched by the Industrial Research Board that working more hours is not economically productive. An association of Britain's Labor MPs found in its research on work hours in wartime, that longer hours does not mean better results. It is not more productive. In fact, a research showed tha
t when actual working hours went from 58.2 to 51.2 hours per week, the total productivity increased by 22%. People knew this in 1940, even during war but here, people are being taught to work 70 hours a week. Even in times of emergency during a war, longer working hours argument was proved bogus & nonsensical. At present, there is no war like situation in India, yes poverty & inflation have surely turned people's lives into a daily battle. They are somehow surviving, barely subsisting. This is B
JP MP Nishikant Dubey's tweet. In this November 1 tweet, the MP stated that: 'in a country where since Corona, 'the GOI under Modi, is giving grains to 80 crore every month, 'the opposition there is using Apple iPhones worth lakhs. Jai Ho.' The MP knows well that the Apple phone debate is quite different. The question is: who is spying on people's phones? This statement is quite dangerous, if after 9 years of rule, 80 crore people still depend on free rations, it means that the fruits of economi
c progress have not reached them. These are the people who queue up for onions. The working hours of most Indians in a job are very long. To lecture them to work 70 hours a week, is to ridicule them. Further still, in his Oct 27 tweet, the minister praised that Apple has become Indian, because Tata will now produce Apple products. Here's a Dec 2020 report on Wistron, from which Tata has taken over. Wistron is a Taiwanese company. 60 km from Narayana Murthy's hometown Bengaluru, in Kolar district
, at Wistron Infocom's 43-acre Apple iPhone plant, workers turned violent. They had not received full salary for a long time. Their income was cut after the Covid lockdown. The Indian Express reported that Rs 15000-21,000 given to engineers, was cut by Rs 7,000–9,000. There was violence during shift change, in which the factory suffered a lot of damage and 125 people were arrested. Kolar administration said that the employees did not make any demands, nor had the company said anything. Later the
employees complained about not receiving salaries & overtime. That's why I say, don't watch Godi media, as no one there will tell you so many things taking such pains. We have prepared this report with great effort. Do please always watch our videos in their entirety. We also work a lot. Often, we work even after the work is over. A journalist's work never ends. Likewise, doctors. They too work 16-17 hours. The employment debates in India must change; else, these people, using religion, will co
nvert you in such a way, that you won't even be able to turn into a bull. I am not speaking ill of the bull, a report published today in the Amar Ujala states that training is being given to generate electricity from the power of the bull. In fact, some industrialist will also tell you, the youth, that you should become bulls, at least you will be useful in power-generation. We know that Indian youth will be busy in the forthcoming 3-4 months, for temple-inauguration & politics. That's exactly o
ur expectation from you youngsters, you will never prove us wrong! So, please quit all work, and remain engaged in this, but high work hours, no jobs, low salaries... do ponder on these things after the temple business, what the politics of religion has done to you, and given you what kind of questions and debates. Not now, think about this after 20 years. Although most lapdog media people work many hours too, but look at the condition of that media! :D A healthy industry has been left in ruins.
Goodbye, this is Ravish Kumar.

Thank you Ravish sir for always standing with poor and common people.
