a pretty cool W who are you what are you doing so sorry um Cheryl sent me Cheryl Sher Shara Shera Cara Cara that's the hit TBS show so help me Todd if you've been missing it now is the perfect time to get caught up on Paramount plus while the show is being preempted by March Madness now Skyler ason placs Todd on the show and joins me now welcome it's good to have you thank you it's good to be here I love that we can all get caught up it's so you know it's hard to stay on top of a you know there'
s so many great shows this is certainly one of them and um it's nice to be able to get caught up before April 11th when you all we'll be back and then and then I think for the second half all of the episodes will be consecutively through our finale so it's a good time to kind of get up on uh get caught up on the season one and now the first half of season 2 yes yes and this is an exciting show I'm sure for you because you've been on many other things movies picked perfect and so many other shows
and when they came to you and said okay we want you to be the star of this show what was kind of going through your head well first of all I love the the writing on the show it had a lot of like bite and a lot of crispness and um there's like a lot of really witty banter between myself and Marsha Gay Harden who plays my mother I just thought it was a really great concept to have kind of this crime fighting Duo as mother and son and her kind of fixing the Schmutz off my face as I try to take mys
elf seriously and and uh be a private investigator working for for my mom and with my mom yeah and while it must be exciting to be you know a star and a show is there a lot of pressure too yeah but I mean I'm kind of up to the challenge I I I see it as like a great responsibility I I love what I do I love like getting to sink my teeth into to you know all the scenes and and a lot of time like it's very rare that you could be on a show like this where you're solving cases and crimes but you also
get to be funny and our show gets to do all of that and so we have like the heartwarming family moments but also there is no dinner scene is not complete without a little bit of bickering and maybe even like a big blow up yes yes and for season two I mean what can we expect well uh Todd my character he gets his his his detective private investigator license back so now he is currently running a his own private investigator Boutique agency within his mother's Law Firm so not only does he work for
the law firm as their investigator but now he has his own cases so now that just like adds a little bit of extra spice into the soup and now when we have cases sometimes they intersect sometimes I'm hiding my cases from my mom and my character is kind of on the rise in this in the season so uh it it kind of it's like now what now what happens when you get everything you've ever wanted yes hiding from your mother but you can't really hide anything from her exactly exactly yeah but you keep tryin
g I mean yeah there's a lot of stuff that by the way that she tries to like hide from me or or we confide in each other Marsha and I always make it a case to kind of uh keep like some of the the things that we've worked on on previous episodes and keep it alive in the current episode we're shooting so our characters have progressed a lot and they've been through a lot so we get to kind of carry that through the series yes and I don't know if you can talk about it you have a special guest charact
er on the show Jennifer Lewis yes Jennifer Lewis is going to be on our next episode that airs April 11th I'm so excited she was so entertaining to work with yes well she plays like this fabulous iconic International Diva and Jennifer is a fabulous iconic International Diva and so the line would often blur and on and off camera it was very entertaining to be around really so can we expect more special guests I mean is this going to be a season of a lot of oh yeah there's we have Dean Winters play
s Mayhem on all those fun Insurance commercials and um Heather Morris from Glee is is is is a very new welcomed ad to the group uh some really great people coming in and out of the show throughout the whole series it's very exciting I look forward to seeing it all April 11th and again so help me Todd on CBS April 11th and you can get caught up on Paramount Plus stream it all binge it do whatever you need to you can get more information by going to kown news.com and clicking seen onv
