Wake up! Do you know the time? It's already 7:30. You're going to miss your bus, even today. Everyday you miss your school bus. And I have to drop you to school. Don't I have other jobs? You were born when I was quite aged. That's why you're a spoilt child. What if... Meet my aunt's son, Yuvraj. My aunt named him after her favourite cricketer. But apart from that, he has many other nicknames. Lazy! Useless! Worthless! Good for nothing! Dumb! God knows what people call you. What genes you have go
t! You are least bothered. You are 18 years old, a habitual failure in each class! It doesn't make any difference to you! Why god gave me such a child! Yuvraj is two years elder to me. But because of repeated failure, we both are now in the same class. Obviously, he feels bad to hear his mother shout out. Obviously, it does bother him. But, his attention is like a goldfish. One second here and another second... Oh! Why are you day-dreaming? Go and take bath. Here's your towel. There's hot water.
Can't you see? Arushi is waiting for you. At least, think about her. I'm laying the breakfast. Come fast. You and I, both are going to learn a lot from this teen story. How can we talk about teenagers and not talk about mental health awareness? Oh, I have forgotten to bring a textbook. I need to go back home. Doesn't anyone scold you when you forget something? My mom doesn't even allow me to forget that I have forgotten something. I feel so bad for him. My aunt is a bit nagging type. But my dad
! Super cool! And it's not only that, I study more than you, but always land up with lesser scores. I'm a failure since two years, and you're always a topper. Even I'm intelligent. But for my mom, I'm always worthless. I know that my attention span is less. But I still work hard, but no one cares about it. And, being a boy, I can't cry. I can't express my emotions. If you are learning something from our teen story, supporting each other should be the foremost. Please! Okay? Yuvraj! I'm very sorr
y, you've to go through all of this. But I'm with you. Why don't we do something? Let me stay at your place for 2-3 days. We'll figure this out together. Okay. Now, it's action time. These are my Sherlock Holmes glasses, and here I'm, observing Yuvraj's each move. Yuvraj used to set alarm each night with the intention of getting up early. His intentions were always genuine. -Good night. -Good night. Wake up! You'll be late again. He used to get up late everyday, and his mom used to scold him. He
used to set the alarm, but couldn't sleep on time. He was right, he did used to study more than me. But, his attention span was very less. Sometimes, he got distracted by his sharpener, and sometimes... ...by his colorful pens. Yuvi, you know, I've prepared a test on this chapter. Let's take a test. Don't worry. You'll score more than me. Of course! -Ready? -Yes. -Three, two, one! -Let's begin. I've prepared a test on this chapter. Let's take a test. ...a test on this chapter. Let's take a test
. Let's take a test. Let's take a test. Let's take a test. Let's take a test. Let's take a test. Let's take a test. Test! Test! Test! Test! Test! Test! Test! Test! What is this? Okay. Why don't you too call me a loser? Listen! Why are you wasting your time? He will never understand anything, however you try. How can I make him understand when I myself fail to understand? Knock, knock! I don't want to talk. Me too. Just wanted to ask, "Who's there?" I have been observing you the whole day. And I
think, you have a mental health problem. -So, you think, I'm mad? -Oh, no! Mental health problem and madness, both are different. At least, our generation should have this awareness. Look, your low attention span, your hyper activeness, your impulsiveness, your mood swings... Let's check out these symptoms. What? Am I bi-polar? Bi-polar? But... No, no. I don't think you're bi-polar. Personality disorder? Maybe, but... I think you have ADHD. AD what? No, no. I mean, ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyper-
Activity Disorder. Oh, my doctor, this sounds so deadly! No. But I think, the kind of lifestyle we are leading, with laptops and phones always in our hands, it is obvious for each one of us to be suffering from a bit of ADHD. But, some suffer from childhood, while some are born with it. Please, don't say all these to my mom. For her, I'm already good for nothing. And if she comes to know this, she'll call me, a defective piece. Yuvi... #be kind to people, because we never know... ...who is going
through trauma or a grave situation. If the book was that important, you should have kept it handy beforehand. But no, have you ever paid attention to me? He's 18 years old! Loser! Useless! Why did god give me such a child? It's an everyday affair! He's 18 years old! Loser! Hey, loser! Which book are you searching? At least, tell me! Please. It was right before his eyes. But he couldn’t see it. My bad luck! To see such days! What will happen to this child, when I close my eyes? -Thanks. -You're
welcome. Why does all these happen? Why does it happen with me? I wanted to set everything before going to bed. I even thought of doing it. But then, I forgot. And I got up late. And I don't know what to do! Try to speak out to your mom. Yesterday, I did some more research about ADHD. ADHD is manageable. At least let's get to know if you are suffering from it or not. If a problem is ignored, how would it get solved? Oh, good! Perfect timing! Come on! I have laid the table. Freshen up and have y
our food. -Talk to her. -How can I? You talk to her. -But, she's your mom! -What's going on? What are you both up to? He's asking you to tell something, isn't it? -No aunt, actually... -Actually, what? I wanted to talk to you. Talk to me! About what? -Yuvraj. -Yuvraj? I knew it. It would be about him alone. Did he do something again? -Now, what is it? -No. -He didn't do anything, aunt? -Then? Let me explain it to you. What will you explain? Aunt... ...the less attention span of Yuvraj, his habit
of forgetting things, his inability to act on his own plans, his impulsiveness, there could be a reason behind all these. -What? -I think,... ...Yuvraj is suffering from ADHD. What? Ad what? -Mom, even I reacted like that. -Wait, let me talk to her. Yes, go ahead. What the hell is this AD? ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyper-Activity Disorder. It's related to mental health. Mental? Enough! Now, that's what I have to hear. Mental? -No aunt, it's not like that. -Listen, dear. You are too young for all
these things. There's nothing called mental health. All these are tantrums created by doctors. Just to mint more money. You know what? In our days, there was a mental asylum, in Agra. All the mental cases were sent there. They used to provide 250 rupees and a free blanket. What do you want? You want me to send my son there? You want me to leave my only son in that asylum, in Agra? -That's not what I mean, aunt. -Then, what do you mean? Did you hear? You are mad. You are a mental. That was the la
st thing I would want to hear. I know. When we talk of mental health, people hear only the word, 'mental'. But we're the new #teens. We'll not give up. Someone help! Someone help! Aunt! Aunt! -What happened, dear? -Aunt...Yuvraj... Yuvraj! Yuvraj! My child! Yuvraj, open your eyes, son! What happened? Open your eyes, son. Open your eyes. He is unconscious! He is unconscious! What should I do? His dad is not here. I should call the doctor... No, no. I should take him to the hospital. Get my phone!
Get my phone! What are you staring at? Call the driver. We have to reach the hospital. Call your dad. Ask him to meet us at the hospital. Are you okay, son? Yuvraj, open your eyes, son. You... Why are you still standing? Today's generation. Good for nothing! I have to do it myself. -Aunt, nothing has happened to Yuvraj. -How can you say that? He is bleeding. He is unconscious. And you are saying, nothing... -Mom, I'm okay. -Oh god! You are alright? You are okay? Nothing has happened to you? You
were fooling me? I was so scared! I know, that was too much of a melodrama. But sometimes, to prove something, a little drama is not bad. I can't believe. You made a fool of myself. Why did you do it? Why? Aunt, the moment you saw blood, -you wanted to take Yuvraj to hospital. -Obviously. Because, you could see the blood. There are so many things we can't see. But they need as much attention, as a heart attack, a broken head or an accident does. Our mental health is as important as our physical
health. Yuvraj is going through something. I may be wrong, but what if I'm not? What if the help he needs helps him make a better version of himself? Don't you want it? Distraction in attention, forgetting petty things, poor sleep, perhaps, all these are related to his mental health. Just because we don't know much about these things, should we ignore them? -Don't we need to know more about... -Enough! Enough of your lecture! Don't try to be my aunt. Anyways, I don't expect anything from him. A
nd now, you too... And what about you? Actor the great! The bloodshed you have created on the floor! I want everything spic and span! If I see even one stain, be ready for a tight slap! Good for nothing fellows! Trying to put up shows! I think... ...Yuvraj is suffering from ADHD. Our mental health is as important as our physical health. Distraction in attention, forgetting petty things, poor sleep, perhaps, all these are related to his mental health. Just because we don't know much about these
things, should we ignore them? No, no. I need the number of mental doc... I mean the number of mental health doctor. If you get any information, please call me. Sorry, dear. I scolded you so much yesterday. And you know, I did a thorough research yesterday night. I saw many videos, made a detailed study, searched internet, about ADHD and mental health. You were right, dear. But I was so confused. I never... ...looked at these things in that perspective. And so I could never understand. And you,
my son... I'm very sorry, dear. Forgive me. I have always abused you since childhood. Worthless! Useless! I could never understand. I'm old school. What to do? And that's why you had to put up the show? You both wanted to make me understand, right? But now, I will leave no stone unturned. You'll be alright. I will take you to the mad... No, no. We must not say 'mad'. It's mental health. Right? We'll go to the mental health doctor. Okay? That's okay. But the problem is that I don't know from whe
re to start. Where should I take Yuvraj? I'm not aware of the type of doctors. What to do? I had called a few friends and relatives. But they laughed at me. Actually, it's not their fault. Even I was like that. What to do? As soon as we hear the word, 'mental,' we take it as, 'mad.' Aunt, you need not do anything. What do you mean? -I have done all the research. -Is it? What research? There's a mental health organization, AMAHA. -AMAHA? -Yes. They have many centers in India. There's one at Mumb
ai also. We can go and meet them there. They have many mental health professionals. Once they assess Yuvraj, they would suggest if he needs a psychiatrist or a therapist. -You mean, therapist or psy... -Psychiatrist. Okay. Psychiatrist. -Both are different? -Yes. I never knew it. I need to learn a lot. We all need. We will learn. So, let's go to AMAHA. Did you know? ADHD therapists can assess you very easily. I will ask some questions to Yuvraj and to you. In ADHD tests, they could ask questions
to the client's close relatives or friends. -Why me? -That will help us understand Yuvraj's symptoms in a better way. Post that, I'll guide you about the next steps. There will be a psychometric assessment. And a discussion with a psychiatrist. All this is very normal. I'll be there at every step. And this simple test will assess whether you're suffering from ADHD or not. AMAHA has mental health coaches as well. They will discuss with you free of cost. They will assess your problem and help yo
u decide the person you should talk to, a therapist or a psychiatrist. And if you already know with whom to talk to, you can directly book your sessions with them through their app or website. Apart from that you can also join the peer support communities, free of cost and ananomously, so that you can talk to those who feel like you, so that someone is there to understand you. So, don't feel alone in your journey. We got AMAHA#mental health matters.

@susmitasingh3430

My bsf has adhd. She struggles a lot in school with grades and school work. I always try to help her as much as I can. Sadly, even though she has tried to tell her parents abt this, they have ignored her concerns and just said that she is being lazy and said that she has no such thing. They didnt even take her to a pyschiatrist to get her tested. I have moved out from the city and even though stay less in contact, she is still my bsf. Love u bsf ❤

@jd007official

Getting neglected by parents & relatives when you have a mental disorder is unfortunately a common thing in India, as someone who has gone through it for a long time I can relate to it. They think just because they don't know about it, it isn't real/doesn't exist

@barsasvlog8606

I'm a psychology student... And I clearly know that aadhe bacho ko to pta hi nahi hai ki psychology naam ka kuch hota bhi he .. People have to understand kitne bache guzar rahe he iss chiz se par unko khudko hi nahi pata ki kya ho rha he unke sath.. Logo ke bich ye awareness honi chahiye

@asmiwagde

the male actor's innocence got tears in my eyes damn it!! i am so emotional 🥲

@nikitajadhav2099

I cried my heart out, and I am so glad people are acknowledging this issue. Growing up, when you hear your parents, teachers, and friends calling you pagal, it was the hardest pill for me to swallow! I never wish upon anyone going through this. I have always known my body, and I knew that something was wrong with me; last year, I turned 30, and after begging every doctor, they diagnosed me with ADHD and Anxiety. I am still fighting to prove it! It hurts, and it is a struggle and has been this way since my childhood.
