The comparative oncology program,
which started about 10 years ago now, is very unique, and it's the only one in the
country that combines a veterinary oncology program and an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer
center, and if we can learn things in the process and help humans with cancer too, that's great.
One area that donor funds was critical for, was bringing us the Next Generation pet scanner.
This was developed in partnership with the biomedical engineering school on campus and allows
better scanning. It's a better look for disease. Donor support is vital to everything we do; we
couldn't get the outcomes that we're getting, we couldn't advance the science, and we
couldn't advance animal health and human health without the support that we get
from really special dedicated people. [Music]
