A teaser for the series finale of Adventure
Time was dropped at San Diego Comic Con, and an air date for the episode was announced,
too. The Adventure Time panel at the convention
screened a clip of what we can expect from the finale, along with the teaser, which included
voice over that declared, “Time and time again, the Land of Ooo has called upon one
heroic duo to save it’s bacon. But this time, Finn and Jake will face the
ultimate adventure!” In the clip, we see Finn and Jake on a seaside
c
liff looking out with a pair of binoculars, where they spot a trio of characters on a
raft who then disappear. They go see Princess Bubblegum, who is holding
a meeting in her war tent with her council of characters. Nothing overly spoilery. The teaser was more so a montage, featuring
footage from previous seasons, and a few small clips highlighting the war, with Princess
bubblegum sounding a war horn, Marceline declaring that this is a war she has to fight, a terrifying
monster, Jake’s body doin
g some serious internal bumping around, and Finn calling
out for Jake to help him. According to the team behind Adventure Time,
this ultimate adventure is, I quote, “everything you want, unless you wanted things that we
didn’t want. So when the show ends, there are so many mixed
emotions and directions. We found an ending that answered some questions,
but not all the answers, so some people may be left wanting more.” The panel also showed off a few other things,
including a clip from a ‘Minecraf
t’ episode that will be released, which featured a short
almost 30 second clip of Finn and a minecraft enemy having a comical interaction, which
of course, was in Minecraft’s aesthetic style. The panel celebrated 10 years of Adventure
Time, and also featured a whole lot of songs. Created by Pendleton Ward, the show has been
a major success, attracting over 3 million viewers, resonating with a wide range of demographics,
from children to young adults. It’s received seven primetime Emmy awards,
a
Peabody Award, three Annie Awards, two British Academy Children’s Awards, a motion picture
sound editors award, a pixel award and a kerrang award during it’s run, as well as a slew
of nominations, and its spin off comics have received an Eisner and two Harvey Awards over
the years. The final episode will air on the Cartoon
Network on September 3rd of this year at 6pm. Are you guys excited for the series finale? Or are you really sad to see Finn the Human
