Anger, bribes & laughter when Laura learns how to ski! Join the family in Kläppen VLOG

We will meet them now. - Oh, hi! - Hey, Laura! Straight into the woods. Are you ready? Now I'm twelve in 24 hours. - NO! Disgusting! - Laura... Laura has a very strong will. We're bribing her a little. Hey, hey! We are in Kläppen Ski Resort. Laura is learning to ski. - Hey, hey, mushroom! - Hey, hey, mushroom! Hello, Trolla! There we go. Hold it like this. Exactly! She's straddling one of my legs. I placed the button a little lower than normal so she can have one arm over it. This way her entire
back is supported and we can both ride. I want my pacifier. Yes, you want your pacifier. It will be very tough if the button lift is very steep. - Mommy, can I have my pacifier now? - No, but you can have a small treat if you ski down. - No, if I don't ski down. - Yes, if you ski all the way down, you'll get a little treat. - A pink candy. - A pink candy. Laura hasn't found learning to ski to be particularly fun. She's been at ski school for three days and there was quite a lot of whining the f
irst two days. A mom there gave us the tip to have a small pastille box and every time she comes down, give a little pastille. Then she actually thinks that learning to ski is a lot more fun. So yeah, all ways are good except the bad ones. We bribe her a little. Oops! - You're doing so well! Look what I've got. - Oh, wow! You have to sit up if you're going to eat one. It's such a mess to go around on skis and... Yes. It's very difficult. The equipment is a bit heavy, so you get pretty sweaty whe
n teaching a child to ski. There's a great conveyor belt over here if you're a beginner and think it's hard to ride a button lift. It's very convenient. The kids just stand on it, ride up, and then they can go down themselves. Laura's helmet makes it a little itchy, so we take it off every now and then. - She has so much hair. - Yes, a lot of hair. There. No hair and no itch. Very nice. There! Here we go! Good, Laura. ...set, go. Stand up like a star. - Hug me! - I'll catch you, I'll catch you!
You're doing so well! Mommy, give me my pacifier. "Give me my pacifier." - No, not candy. - Not candy? Huh? Oh, how cozy. It's a bit difficult with... Oh! His hands are ice cold. He must have gloves. Okay. Urso can have my gloves. - Gosh! - They're too big. Yes, they're too big. Urso can borrow your gloves. - Yes. - Yes. There. And the other hand. - He can't, it's too big. - Yes, we can get smaller gloves for Urso. Yes. Teeny-tiny gloves. Laura has a very strong will. Yes, but Urso must wear glo
ves. Teeny-tiny gloves. And when she gets hungry, she also gets angry. So, hangry. - What do you say in Portuguese? - In Portuguese? "Com fome." "Estou com fome." (I'm hungry) - "Com fome." - "Com fome." - She's hungry. - Yes. - What did you give Laura to counteract "hangriness"? - I gave her a cheese flavored corn cake. We're ambassadors for Friggs and they come to the rescue on the slopes. Those and the pastille boxes. Another tip for those who are going to teach younger kids to ski: Don't ove
rdo the time on the slopes. - Yes. - Short periods. Short periods, short breaks, small snacks, and try to ski when the children think it's fun. Mhm. Before noon is pretty good. ♪ (Laura hums the Finger Family Song) ♪ Alma and Harry called from here and said they're going to eat lunch. We'll go in and see what's up. - They called the Daddy Bank. - Yeah. Exactly. Hello! - Hey! - Hey! - Is it just the two of you here? - Yes. - Where are your friends? - We haven't hung out with them today. - Only yo
u two have skied? - Yes. - Where are all the pals? - I don't know. They were busy. - Have you got along? - Yes. They're dirty! How nice. Are the gloves dirty? They get dirty when you ski, Laura. - Mommy, are they too small? - No, they're probably just right. - Are you two hungry? - Yes, very. Laura is sleeping and we are sitting in the gondola on the way up to the top. Yep.. She's not alone in the room. No. Her babysitter Elma came by. She's there now and when Laura wakes up, they will play for
a little while. Yes. Kläppen is so amazing for us. We've been here before, so we kind of have a social life here. We've gotten to know some other families, found a babysitter for Laura. And both Alma and Harry have friends and they can ski around the mountain by themselves. And they can't get lost because you can't get down anywhere else on the mountain. So they don't need to be picked up or walk far. We're staying at Hotel Kurbits, right on the slope, so they can ski in and ski out by themselve
s. So it's so worth it for us to continue going here. - Yes. It's hard to find a more convenient ski resort. - Yes, for our family anyway. Yes. - But now we're going to see if we can find Alma and Harry on the slopes. - Yes. - Watch your head. - Yes. Gotta watch out! We've found Harry and his friends. Dante and Vigor. - Harry! How's it going? - Good. - Are you going to ski off-piste? - Yes. I can't hear you. Where are you guys going? We're going off-piste. - Do you usually do that over here? - Y
es. This is like the back of the mountain. And what does off-piste mean, for those who are not so good on skis? It's that you don't ski on the road. You go straight out. You don't ski close to the road. - You go out into the forest between the trees. - Instead of on the slope. You call the slope "road." - Is it okay if you have a camera on your head? - Okay. - Then we can see how it looks. - Yes, because we do not want to ski there. I think you need to wear your ski goggles. Make sure they're co
mfortable. The other day, Harry tricked me into the woods. I will never do that again. I'm too big and heavy to ski among the trees. But you think that's fun, right? - Yes. - Yes. - There. If it falls off, you have to pick it up, okay? - Yes. - You guys can let me know. - Yes. One of you can ride in front of me. No, I'll go first because I have the GoPro. Or? - There. Yes, it actually has. - It's someone's birthday tomorrow. - Yes. - Speaking of April. - Yes. How does it feel? Twelve years old. Special. It feels like the year has just… ...shot by and then just, "Well, now I'm twelve in 24 hours." So... it's a little weird. - Do you want to film on your birthday? - No, I don't. I like to spend it with just the family and not share it. Yes. Harry still thinks it's fun to film birthday videos. Yes, Harry loves filming his birthday because then he can watch it back. But I remember. - Where are we going now? - To Trolle and Trolla's house! Trolle and Trolla's house. Who are they? They're gone now. We will mee

They usually have little get-togethers for kids in that house. Usually, it's for more kids but since we want to film, we get to be there just us. - Harry comes along as a supportive big brother. - Yes. Laura said the other day that she was afraid of Trolle.
