Arizona Republicans Advance Bill To Allow People To Murder Migrants

Republicans in the Arizona state legislature are advancing a bill that would allow citizens to legally murder migrants that they believe are illegally in the country and illegally trespassing on their land. These crimes are only misdemeanors, but Republicans think the best way to handle misdemeanors is with capital punishment. The bigger problem is that they don't view these people as actual human beings, so they believe their cruelty is justified. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this. If you're the kind of person who likes to kill other people, then Arizona may be the state for you, because Republicans in Arizona are advancing a bill through the state legislature that would give citizens the legal right to murder migrants that walk onto their property. I'm not overstating what that bill says either. This bill is an expansion of the so-called Castle Doctrine, which in multiple states around the country, allows you to use lethal force if somebody attempts to enter your home without your permission. Now, the Castle doctrine is only of course, if they tried to get into your home, if they're just walking on your property, right? Yeah. You can't do anything about that. Trespassing is trespassing, uh, which is a misdemeanor, by the way, but Arizona Republicans are trying to expand it to say, listen, if you have a person that is suspected, suspected to be an illegal immigrant, and they are walking on your property, trespassing, you can kill 'em, and you're not gonna be charged. So if you own 50 acres out there in Arizona, I don't know if anybody spent a lot of time in Arizona, but outside, you know, the city, you do have, uh, uh, areas of property where people have these huge swaths of property, especially down by the border. So if you've got 10 acres down there, you're nine acres from your home, you're in your final acre, and you see somebody that you suspect may have crossed the border illegally, this new bill would allow you dead to kill. That person gone, and you couldn't be charged. You'd be protected under this idiotic, insane Republican law. This is legalized murder. And the reason they're doing this is because they don't view these migrants as human beings. These aren't people to them. It's an invasion. It's an infestation. They tell us, you know, kinda like, oh, we got a bunch of cockroaches. Let's just kill them. That's how they view these people, these human beings. For the record, as I said, trespassing is a misdemeanor. You know, what else is a misdemeanor illegally crossing the US border? It's a misdemeanor. It's not even a felony, let alone a capital offense. But Republicans in Arizona are trying to turn it into a capital offense. Oh, you hopped that border and you stepped on this man's land. Well, he now has the legal right to kill you in any way that he chooses, and that we're not gonna punish him. You shouldn't have walked on his property. The, the look, I I, I'm not advocating obviously for illegal immigration. I'm not advocating for trespassing. What I am advocating for is the respect of human life. Republicans love to tell us, right? They're the party of the Christians, the religious right. They're the party of Jesus. And God, You show me in the Bible where Jesus ever said, Hey, if you think somebody's not from around here and they walk on your property, feel free to go ahead and lop their head off. Yeah, that didn't happen. But Republicans want it to because their version of Jesus apparently walks around with a couple of, uh, uh, you know, automatic rifles in each hand just waiting to mow down anybody. That's what they worship, and that's what they're trying to legislate. They want to make murder legal because they don't view migrants as human beings. I don't think it gets any more disgusting than that.

@robertmcnearny9222

There's no way Katie Hobbs signs this bill, and they do not have the power to override her

@user-om9hh5ig4k

@melodyszadkowski5256

I have a Hispanic girlfriend in New Mexico who was stopped once by the "migrant police" and told to show her "green card" to prove she was "legal." She replied. that dhe didn't have one since she was an American. When he derisively asked "Oh, and when did your family get here?" She gave him a level look and said "1583. Can your family beat that?" I will ask her to never go near Arizona.

@lillia2479

So... they can now lie that they killed their neighbor (or even just someone they hate) and get away with it so long as they "thought" he/she was a migrant trespasser? This is getting ridiculous.

@Tim.Stotelmeyer.2984

Waiting for Texas and Florida to pass similar laws and Trump to praise them.

@ronhall3686

Evangelical Christians following Jesus Christ teachings? No words to describe hypocrisy.

@robertvosburgh7540

America, we are truly BROKEN.

@OldSeer

Last I looked, you aren't allowed to murder anyone. Not sure why they think they can get away with this.

@sacrebleu1371
