just days after the governor called a new Netflix documentary featuring the palas county jail Reckless more political leaders are weighing in now the palaski county Quorum Court is joining the conversation around the controversial series as Ashley Godwin reports the palaski county Corum Court wants answers from the sheriff about filming in the jail all the members who spoke out say that they didn't even know about the filming until the trailer came out that's why this sheriff is willing to risk
it all here's Sheriff Higgins and Netflix's most talked about documentary in Arkansas and let y'all be a community it's called unlocked a jail experiment I just can't believe the sheriff even would even do that and realize there was a lot of delving there was a lot of Investigation there was a lot of due diligence that we needed to do the problem is County officials say they were not aware of the filming of the documentary or any agreement signed there's nothing wrong in everything right with uh
Sheriff's trying unique social experiments in their jail I believe I believe in Criminal Justice Reform but that could have been done he could have done everything that he did without turning our jail into a uh a reality TV show The ordinance compiles 40 questions for the sheriff to answer including where filming took place and who is on camera throughout the series plus any contracts agreements or any release forms that were signed the court has given him 5 days to get this information to them
the sheriff declined to give us a comment about this it don't make us look good I mean words like that and those problems hey that's not good for anybody any County
