Avengers 5 Announcement Breakdown: Deadpool and Wolverine Marvel Changes Explained

Get your special stock out nerds It's gonna get good Welcome back everyone it's Charlie, Marvel just announced some major changes they're making to Avengers five The Kang character, the Council of Kangs, just in general. and it looks like they're using Deadpool and Wolverine to set those up way more than we thought just from that early footage in the first trailer. So we'll break it all down. It confirms a lot of our theories from earlier this year and last year. if you're brand new to the chann

But during that last big Deadpool and Wolverine trailer they said Avengers secret wars with the doctor Doom shout out literally on the real life Marvel's Secret Wars number five comic book We Dr. Doo

m on the Cover, revealing himself in the pinko doctor's soda laced with the Hulk blood that would turn whoever drank it into another Hulk. that Secret Wars comics specifically was the issue where they fill in a lot of backstory of how Doctor Doom became God, emperor of Doom, and everything that happened with the incursions, his secret plan to use Molecule Man to eventually save their universe by defeating the Earth, eventually creating battle world itself, which they're all living on during the

issue. so it's sort of an explainer kind of issue like this is what really happened in back story. end at the time we saw it in the trailer, a lot of us just saw this comic book and assumed that it meant that Marvel still planned on doing Avengers six as a version of single words, like, yeah, we're actually going to do the thing that we said that we were going to do. No big surprise. and they were just using Deadpool to almost literally break the fourth wall by pointing out the real life Secret

Wars comic book kind of winking at the camera, saying that Doctor Doom in the MCU would be a big part of that movie eventually, as well as there being some kind of crazy big incredible Hulk Easter eggs to make as many Hulk puns as possible. but just recently this week, Hollywood Reporter published a bunch of new behind the scenes information about all the changes Marvel is making to soft reboot itself in the next several years. it's not going to be a hard and fast one movie kind of thing. It's a

slow change behind the scenes that will play out in front of the camera over the course of all the next movies and shows between Now in Avengers Secret Wars, in probably one of the biggest changes so far is what's going to happen to Avengers five. Like the plot of that movie, the characters are going to use it, just how it all goes down. according to a Hollywood Reporter, it's confirmed now that Marvel will change the title of Avengers five. We actually got a look at Marvel's website and they s

till had Avengers five as Kang Dynasty on the schedule in Avengers six is Secret Wars, so it looks like Marvel was just lazy and they left that up and they'll just wait to change it till they actually get ready to market. Avengers five They also revealed Marvel is doing everything they can to totally move away from the main character in all of his variants. Now they claim that Marvel has started to do this like they were always planning on doing this. After the weak reception to Ant-Man, the WAS

P Quantumania with the Kang the Conqueror character. So there've been a lot of arguments about whether or not that was the real reason why Marvel started to move away from Jonathan Majors version of Kang. According to Hollywood Reporter. They started to do that well before his legal troubles and his legal troubles just kind of compounded things and made them want to move a little bit faster on that. But they'd already decided to do that before all the legal stuff went down in Marvel's trying to

get away from the whole concept of the Council of Kangs, so much so that during Avengers five, The Kangs will only be as involved as little as possible and needed to completely wrap up their storyline. even though we've been thinking about how Avengers five was supposed to be the new version of the Avengers team of the main 616 universe versus the Dynasty of Kangs, which is what Kang the Conqueror called them in Ant-Man and the WASP Quantumania, originally Marvel's plan was to plot out Avengers

five, like Avengers Infinity War, where there were a couple different teams fighting the different main Kang variants in different locations. Like one team fights immortus in one place, another team fights Rama Tut, another team fights the Scarlet Centurion in each of those Kangs, raises their own armies of variants from across the multiverse to fight for them. Which is where your big multiverse cameos from old Avengers who might have died in the main universe in the MCU start happening. like, t

hat's how they would have brought a version of Robert Downey Junior back, for instance, The Avengers were always meant to lose that fight. Like they wouldn't be powerful enough to defeat all the Kangs. They would have a similar Empire Strikes Back kind of downer ending for Avengers five like they did for Infinity War. But Marvel was always going to pull a Naruto with the ending of that movie in a bigger villain would surface, then kill all of the remaining Council of Kangs and he be the one to c

ollapse the rest of the multiverse form battle world of the fragments of the remaining universes across the multiverse in on a version of battle world, he'd rule over it as God, Emperor of all remaining reality with a bunch of multiverse characters from these fragmented universes that were left over, in at least before all these big Marvel announcements this past week about Marvel changing Avengers five, that more powerful villain would have just been another Kang variant, also played by Jonatha

n Majors, but he would have been more like the Beyond or from the 1980s. Secret Wars. Before Marvel announced all these changes they were going to make. My assumption at the time is they were using Ant-Man and the WASP Quantumania to set it up so that it was going to be that version of Kang that we thought died. He was just going to survive and turn into the beyond her and he would resurface at the end of Avengers five. Then during Avengers six, they do Secret Wars. Doctor Strange is one of the

surviving Avengers from the first movie that didn't get erased when Battle Royale was created, Who puts together a multiverse team of Avengers from heroes that are left on Battle World. When the Beyond were created, they would have been made up of legacy Marvel characters from the old movies, and they basically would have done Secret Wars is a version of Endgame for all the Marvel legacy characters like the Fox Marvel characters that would come back again for instance, that's how you put Spider-

Man and Tobey Maguire on an Avengers team with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. they defeat the Beyond Earth, then remake the multiverse, bring everyone back in the multiverse, legacy characters. Everybody goes back to their original universes and Marvel soft reboots the MCU as the more truer version of the comic book. 616 Universe with Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Everybody from the comics pretty much all existing on the same Earth going forward with new versions of the characters, using that as a

n opportunity to recast whoever they wanted, to recast and bring back whoever they wanted to bring back. But now. Based on this new Marvel announcement, the Hollywood Reporter was talking about what's going to happen with Avengers five is that they're using it more like they're going to split secret wars into a two part movie in Avengers five might just be part one of secret wars under a different name. like they won't use secret wars Part one and part two. They'll use different titles. But esse

ntially that's what they're doing. And a lot of you will remember this. That's exactly what they did for Avengers Infinity War in Avengers Endgame several years ago now. It's been a long time when they released the very first teaser for Infinity War, if you remember, they used the title Infinity War Part one in part two. It just changed the title of Part two to Endgame Years later, Now they're doing the same thing just with Secret Wars so doesn't it seem now like the comic book in the Deadpool a

nd Wolverine trailer was a much bigger teaser than we thought it was at the time? Like, this isn't just us working behind the camera. This is us letting you know that we're actually going to be doing this in a much bigger way, doing it much faster than you thought. the other important parts of this big Marvel announcement the past week is that they are recasting all the kangs they will use in Avengers five. We thought that they might do this. There have been talk about it. Now it just seems like

it's confirmed. what they'll probably do is just wait to announce who the new actor is or actors multiple to the very last minute possible. like right before they release the very first trailer in a couple of years. then they'll have the bigger badder villain kill the Council of Kangs Way faster during the events of Avengers five. And if you remember, Rick and Morty also kind of did a parody of this trope, although they did in a more comedic way. Like right now, this is basically how Marvel is

going to handle all the Kangs, way back during a season three episode, they travel to defeat a character called World Ender, who was meant to be a parody of Thanos at the time, because this episode came out when Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame were happening. but when they all show up to fight him, they find out that he's dead. Someone already came before them and killed him. But Because that actual episode was meant to be a comedy. It turns into a larger plot about how powerful Rick

is and crazy stuff that he'll do when he's drunk in the MCU, though, like talking about the Marvel version of this, think about this new, bigger, more powerful villain that they introduced during Avengers five, doing something similar so that The Avengers start finding Dead Kangs all over the place and the real threat of the movie becomes finding out who could have been powerful enough to do this. Like who is the real villain here that we should be worried about? now. Because that Deadpool and W

olverine teaser with the Secret Wars comic book, a lot of people believe that it's going to be Dr. Doom. We'll see about that. He is supposed to show up at the end of the brand new Fantastic Four movie, but that movie is mostly meant to take place during the year 1963. and there's only going to be a handful of movies and shows between that in Avengers five to make people care about the character, to fully develop him, they could always use another main villain for Avengers five in Avengers six.

But there is like a way that this all goes down and you can actually set up Doctor Doom properly, but you like, you really have to move fast to do it. let me know in the comments which character do you think they should use to replace the Kangs in Avengers five is the bigger villain in Who Do you want them to use in Avengers six if it's going to be that big or villain They're couple things that Marvel can do to like really ramp up their MCU version of Dr. Doom. ns open to them. for instance, there are a lot of people on the Council of Kangs, like there are a lot of Kang variants out there. You could actually just have Deadpool and Wolverine going around killing a bunch of them, not all of them, but a bunch of them, and do that in a more comedic way because Deadpool is just such a ridiculous character. Remember, the whole idea is the TVA during Deadpool and Wolverine basically try to induct him as another agent the same way they did with Loki during Lok

i season one. Like, the new Paradox character is kind of reading him the rights we can either prune you and send you to the void. And that's like you wait to be eaten by a lion. or you can become an agent and act like a superhero across the multiverse. And because it's Deadpool we're talking about, he just goes completely off the rails, talks about rebooting the MCU. What is that like? This little cinematic universe that you have is about to change so you can actually use Deadpool to tie up a lo

t of those kang loose ends. But it almost be a little too silly if he killed every single Kang variant. my assumption before the dead Point Wolverine trailer came out in before they announced all these official changes behind the scenes is they were just saying in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer that this would lead directly into secret wars. But we would really see those characters as much in Avengers five. We would just like see them skip over and show up during Avengers six. there would ba

sically be using the Void planet from Loki as a version of battle world, just because it's already kind of serving that function inside the larger MCU multiverse. sort of like a dumping ground collection point for like all these fragments from across the multiverse, based on all these announcements. It just seems like Marvel is leaning harder into that concept and doing things way faster. Like, what if we just skipped over a lot of what we planned to do in Avengers five and just make a beeline f

or this plot on Battle World? I do think it's to their benefit that they're trying to split up the story of secret wars into more parts. Like it'd be weird if they tried to do a one and done movie for all of secret wars. It had to be like a 6 to 8 hour movie for them to fully do that story. usage. Remember that it won't be exactly like comic book Secret Wars either, like the new version of Secret Wars or the 1980s version. But it'll have some Easter eggs for those different versions. I think the

other important confirmation in here is the fact that Marvel is doing their soft reboot. Like there've been a lot of question about what this is going to look like. There wasn't like they were going to recast every single person. It is a couple people might be recast or they might bring back a couple people playing versions of characters who had died previously. but. I think that was largely going to be fixed by the end of secret wars. And then they basically introduce all the brand new charact

ers that they want to after. For Marvel Phase seven heading forward in the main MCU universe. so does feel like more of a soft reboot than like a full on hard reboot where everything changes you can kind of see Marvel testing the waters with this whole concept, this all of this multiverse bringing characters back and like changing little minor things here with all of the movies during Marvel Phase four or Phase five and coming to Phase six, Spider-Man, No Way Home, really good example that where

you bring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of Spider-Man back Deadpool and Wolverine is just like the next step. Now they're doing that with more X-Men in Fantastic Four characters. one of the other things that they're probably using Deadpool and Wolverine for is to test the whole idea of like how many people come back in. How do people like this idea? Like, do they like all these classic characters coming back? Okay, we'll do more of that during Avengers Secret Wars. And if people

don't like that, like they don't respond to it in, it's not like this billion dollar movie, then they'll just pull back on that a little bit. what they'll probably do in that next Deadpool and Wolverine trailer that apparently is going to be ready to release really soon is isn't just get into the actual story a little bit more. Usually the first teaser that they drop is just meant to give you vibes for the movie. Like here's a bunch of crazy stuff that's going to happen. Like look at some of the

characters are coming back. Here's Hugh Jackman's Wolverine wearing the yellow suit from the comics. Then when they released the next trailer, they get more into what the actual story of the movie is like. This is why everything is happening. the only really exception to that is when they get to movies like Endgame, where they don't want to tell you anything that happens in the movie. So they give you the really confusing trailers that just get you really hyped up, but don't really tell you wha

t's actually happening in the movie. one of the beauties of Deadpool movies, though, is they release all those crazy promos that don't have actual footage in them, but somehow wind up being just as cool as actual trailers. Don't be surprised if we start seeing more and more of those with just like Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds egging on each other. what will probably happen the rest of this year, though, is we'll find out more about how Marvel is making changes behind the scenes and what that's

going to look like in all the actual movies and TV shows when they come out.
