A small half-elvish male fussed over his compatriot, a huge half-orc, straightening the bow tie and polishing the boots. "How can you be sure? I'm a half-orc. No one likes half-orcs." "Not with that that attitude they don't. As to how I can be sure. I know you, and because of that, I can be sure. Now please remember, no contractions!" The half-orc sighed deeply, slapping away the bustling half-elves hand and giving his bow tie one last twitch. "I am ready." The half-elf beamed up at him. "Good. Let's get you in there then." The smaller figure spun on their heel and marched up the smooth marble steps. Coming to a stop in front of a human that wore robes of deep blue, he produced a thin bit of parchment and handed it over. The human cleared his throat and yelled out, his voice echoing through the large halls. "Lord Elmar Kendi of Ravencall!" The half-elf turned, offering one last smile before bustling down the steps and into the large street outside, disappearing into the packed crowd below. Elmar turned to the large oak doors, squared his shoulders and marched towards the entrance. He forced a smile onto his face, painfully aware of how his tusks poked out, how staggered his gait was. A female dwarf appeared at his elbow, dressed in the same fine blue as the human outside. "Your cloak, sir?" Elmar, his heart pumping already, practically jumped at this. Flustered, his patted at his pockets while mumbling, "What? Yes, of course. My cloak. Just one second. I'll find them." It was almost a minute before Elmar realised that his cloak was in fact on him, and that she was waiting for him to unclasp it from around his neck and hand it to her. He fumbled around with the braided clasp that held the velvet together. He undid it and handed the cloak to her. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment, he continued further down the hall. The distant sound of conversation floated down the hall, as a lively song began to play. Elmar entered into a beautifully decorated room, adorned with paintings and with large chandeliers hanging from the steeped ceiling. As he did so, a voice rang out above the rest. "Elmar! 'Bout time to, you lazy bastard!" At the sound of the voice, Elmar smiled broadly. Maybe this night wouldn't be so bad after all.
Okay, good ambience and everything, but can we observe a minute's silence to honour the poor string quartet which has been playing for an hour straight without anyone ever paying any attention to them or even just clapping at the end of their performances? These poor guys performed greatly, they need respect.

Small bit of feedback, I think the loop might be a bit too short on this one, mostly due to how we're trained to recognise human speech. Specifically the ladies' speech can be a little jarring, with the "No-" "No." line repeating very frequently, and the "Oh REALLY?!" line standing out a lot. One of the men's lines, something akin to "Holy- Ah!" or the like also suffers from this to a degree, but it isn't as bad. But when you first become aware of the repeating No's, it's impossible not to hear.
Man this one is really great. I can just imagine so many different scenes happening within this party, it's the perfect backdrop for a variety of plots to unfold....

(been a while since i had a good idea for an ambiance suggestion, but what of a lone reflective mirror pond in a cavern of luminescent crystals, wind blowing through gently and the gentle pulse of magic and amphibians calling the water home.)

I could potentially listen to this while writing certain scenes in my vampire story. Granted the music isn't exactly what I would choose for that, but still.... could potentially work for the time in which it's set, at least.
