"BASTARD!!
-Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-" Season Two anime release special! All right! Hello, I'll be your host once again.
I'm Hiroki Yasumoto, and I play Gara. Thank you for having me. Yasumoto! Wow, it's been seven months
since the last special. That went by fast. I hope you're all doing well. We sure are. That's great to hear. Busy as ever. Busy as ever? Incredible. You're so confident! He said it himself. We're in for some fun today. To commemorate the release
of Season Two of "BASTARD!!" we
bring you this talk show. We couldn't have done this
without the fans. Thank you. Let me introduce the cast
who have joined me today. Here they are. First, Mr. Taniyama. Hello, I'm Kisho Taniyama.
I play Dark Schneider. Hello. Kensho. I'm Kensho Ono, and I play Kall-Su. - All right.
- Don't be late next time. You're a bad man for saying that. He's so bummed. Let's get excited! The show is just starting,
don't darken the mood. Okay, next Takuma. I'm Takuma Terashima,
and I play Joshua Belaira. Aw
esome. Fukuyama. I'm Jun Fukuyama.
I play Macapine Toni Strauss. And to offer his support, we have Mr. Tsuruoka, the producer,
here behind the camera. Hello, I'm Tsuruoka, the producer.
Great to be here. Thanks for coming! All right. We've done several of these shows now. Taniyama and I have been
in all of them. Today, we also have Takuma Terashima
and Jun Fukuyama. This is their first time. Are you pumped? You're very pumped. Sure, you can count on Terashima. Don't put it all on me. But I can i
magine
things are going to get crazy. You don't know that yet. We'll be serious. It's never not been crazy. That's for sure. Come on, Yasumoto. I'm guessing
it's the same for you, Fukuyama? Yes, basically. If I seem normal,
it means things are too crazy. For now, you do look normal. We'll see what happens. Anyway, let's get started. It's summer vacation time. Summer is the time for adventures. Is there anything you want to do
this summer? We start with that? Yeah, it's a pretty general question.
Summer is coming up already? What about you, Taniyama? You're a summer guy. Yeah, I'd say so too. He's summery. I am? You know how it's getting hotter
every summer? And we all hate it? We should just accept
this abnormal climate. I don't really mean anything by that. "Kisho" as in "climate", not my name. - Abnormal Kisho?
- No. I didn't mean that. - I knew it.
- Stop it. I shouldn't have said that. You guys always jump at whatever. But anyway, I just want to enjoy it. - I see.
- Not just hate o
n the heat. So I'm thinking of going to the beach. - Okay.
- You know? - It's that hot.
- It sure is. What about you, Kensho? Summer? Well... Why are you taking up so much time? Don't take so much time. Um, well. I made plans to go to the pool
with Subaru Kimura. Really? You've made plans? Another summery guy. The pool and not the beach? Yeah, we're going to the pool.
And that's about it. You don't hear that very often now. We're going to the pool
and making takoyaki at home. You're like college
kids. Takoyaki after the pool
is awesome. So I'm looking forward to that. That does sound fun. Third up is the hardest. Terashima. - It really is.
- What about you? The beach and the pool, right? I'll take my family to a river then. Rivers are fun. They're the best. Watch your step though. Yeah, I've heard. Everyone, watch out. Rivers can be slimy and slippery. So the beach, pool, and river. Well, it's summer.
So one thing that's most important. I'll take lots of salt. - So you don't get heatst
roke?
- Yup, very important. That's true. Health first. So we heard lots of ideas,
but probably none of them will do it. What about you? I'll put on sunscreen
and stay in the shade. You don't want to get burnt? - Why?
- It hurts. It hurts for pale people. A tan would look good. I can't. I don't get a tan. You just get red, huh? And swollen. I get tan without getting burnt. Lucky you. So summery. - I get really tan.
- I envy you. Let's all be summery. Let's all do it. How long are we talking abou
t tans? For those of you
who don't have any plans, how about immersing yourself in
the world of "BASTARD!!" this summer? So this is the cast today. As Season Two is already out,
there will be spoilers. I hope you'll watch Season Two
before watching this show. Let's all have fun today then. Great! Season Two has
just been released on July 31. Before we talk about Season Two,
let's review Season One. Here's a digest of Season One. Let the seal... be gone. Brings back memories. The first voice. Tha
t was so cool. Amazing. Anthrasax, the God of Destruction,
will make it happen. Why this scene? Yeah, I remember this. It's pretty far back. Yeah, way in the beginning. Behold, Kall-Su. The revival of Anthrasax
has reached its peak. Kall-Su in Season one. He was always with Abigail
and Anthrasax. Yeah. They were close. "Anthrasax" was probably
the word I said the most. Crumble and die, Dark Schneider. Wow. Look at that. (DS vs. Nei) Each of the Four Divine Kings. Yeah, they all had their scenes.
The way Gara explains what's going on. He's the commentator. He's another great host. He knows everything. All "Jump" mangas had one. You're right. Every manga needs one. Especially sports anime. The characters take turns. The losers become commentators. You're right though. I feel like this manga
was the first to do that. The losers commentate. This third one. I loved how Abigail
was knocked out upside down. That was so awesome. Look how powerful that is. Wow! Look at that. The sexy scenes. So
summery. Summer is important. Can't show that. You can't. One of the best. Oh wow. I didn't get it as a kid. Oh yeah, you were a kid. I was like, "Why is it getting big?" "I'm hot!" "I'm feeling hot in the middle." Stop getting specific. An elementary schooler, huh? And so, that was Season One. There were scenes that
really made us feel hot. In our heart, I mean. And that's that. Kisho, how did you feel
about Season One? Yeah, it was great. That's it? It was almost nostalgic. You were so eloque
nt off-screen. Oh, come on. You really feel a lot of stuff. A lot. You can't put it in words. You just have to feel it. Lots of stuff. Kensho, you're too young
to have read "BASTARD!!", right? Yes, exactly. I read the manga
when I joined this project. How did you feel? I thought it was really bold
and daring. The way it's so expressive. The strong words. The way they're used. I really felt that. I was interested to see
how it would be expressed in anime. That was before the project started. I wa
s most interested in that. And as Kall-Su, I didn't have much of a part
in Season One. Not in the main story. It was about Abigail. Right. So I was more like,
"Oh, that happened?" That's what I mostly felt
about Season One. Terashima and Fukuyama
joined us in Season Two. You read it growing up. Yes, definitely. We competed over who could
memorize the longest spell. I remember doing that too. We all tried to memorize it. Like "Helloween." Yeah, I remembered that one. There's the original manga,
l
ike Fukuyama said. And an older anime. This is the second anime. How did you feel seeing it? With today's technology,
the magic effects, the golems, and Anthrasax. The details in the manga would've
been so hard to animate with cels. But it's so amazing
with today's technology. It's clearer, and with
the sound effects and everything, it proved that it all
could really be animated. And to think it took
30 years to get here. The story has matured a lot too. Even compared to today's manga, this one
has fantasy,
video game, and so many aspects. I feel like it's one of the origins
of Japanese manga. It makes me happy as a fan, and I feel there's something there
that transcends time. Takuma, you didn't grow up with it,
but you're an otaku. Yeah, so I'd read it. It's like a textbook manga for otaku. The stuff I read was
what came after what's in the anime. It was even more erotic. So I did feel the heat as a kid. I remember that. When I joined this project,
I reread the manga from the beginnin
g. I especially liked
when the orcs came charging. They read the lines like "gyoee"
just as they were written. They remained faithful
to the comedy aspect too. Mr. Tsuruoka made sure
they got that right. Yes, me and Mr. Kuroda. The director too. We wanted to keep that
‘90s sense of humor. The handwritten words and sounds
by the author... We tried to incorporate those
as much as we could. We were careful about it. We crammed in a lot of lines,
so it must've been hard to record. But you all worked
so hard
to make it work. The anime was made with a lot of love.
Please make sure to check Season Two. Now that we've reviewed Season One,
let's move on. Let's talk about Season Two. Season Two is the Hell's Requiem Arc. That sounded weird. Did it? That sounded like English. It's Japanese. He pronounced half of it normal. The Four Divine Kings,
samurais, and Sorcerer Shoguns go up against
Anthrasax's Ice Dragon. DS become the Dragon Warrior
and defeats Anthrasax's double, saving Kall-Su. But An
thrasax, now in
her complete form, closes in on them. That included some spoilers. We have a lot more characters now,
right Kisho? As a fan of the original manga, I feel like it's finally reached
the point where it starts to get good. I'm glad we were able
to animate it this far. I'm thankful for that. With so many more characters, the storyline really expands. It really starts feeling like
a proper boys' manga. You can do popularity votes now. You're right. So that's one thing. And another thin
g I felt, it's exciting to guess who's going to
do the voices for the characters. Season One was a tighter circle
with me and Gara. It was basically just us. But that's just the beginning. I feel like it finally gets started
from Season Two. So that was interesting.
I'm glad I was part of it. There you have it. Now, let's look into Jun Fukuyama
and Takuma Terashima's characters. Fukuyama, you're first. I play the character
Macapine Toni Strauss. He's one of the Sorcerer Shoguns
under Kall-Su. He
wields specially forged metallic
strings called Demonic slicing threads. They're really fine threads
at the tips of his fingers. They can cut through anything. They can stretch for kilometers. They're great for offense and defense. By spreading them out,
he can form barriers. Not only that, he also has the Garian Sword
that dissipates magical defenses. I didn't know that. Yep. He thinks winning is everything and is willing to use cunning methods. That's my character. Gosh, he was so fun to do.
I bet. You really had a lot of fun. You can't imagine his real character
from his description. Right? He's pretty comical. It's not that he's trying to be
comical, he just ends up being funny. He just happens to be. He's so straightforward
that it's funny. Very manga-like. Him and Di-amon. He faces everything
that comes at him and reacts. He's always like, "What?!" He's very bold, but at the same time,
very mousy. It was an honor doing Macapine. I love Macapine.
He's even funnier in the anime. E
veryone loves him.
We did a lot of interviews today, and everyone loves Macapine. - But...
- Especially since it's by Fukuyama. I did an audition to get the part. But it wasn't for Macapine at first. I was offered an audition for Yngwie. Really? I knew then that I wasn't Yngwie. He's good. That you weren't a noble. I love the manga, so I knew it all. All the characters are amazing,
so I'd be honored to do any of them. But I felt like I'd be
most effective as Macapine. Fantastic! So everyone thou
ght you'd be best. It all worked out. So when they first said Yngwie, I was like, "Not Macapine?" "Well, okay.
I guess that's how people see me." Then they cast me as Macapine,
and I was like, "See?" I'm so glad you got that part. They realized it too. Macapine is one of
Kall-Su's 12 Sorcerer Shoguns. Let's take a look at them. There's a lot. Kall-Su, Yngwie von Mattström, Zion Sol Vanderverg,
Macapine Toni Strauss Shella E. Lee, Ba Thory,
Ran Di Rhodes Shutein Neubauten, Bol Gil Bol! Oh, wow! Z
akk Walder, Ida Deesna, Vlad Kills, Sykes Von Snowwhite,
Ross Zaboss Friedrich. Bol Gil Bol is the most fun to say. Bol Gil Bol! That voice. And Ba Thory. He's a good character. He's great. He had a good role. Right. He helps bring out the character
of Dark Schneider. He really does. In manga, characters with
this kind of face are always funny. This kind of face? Kensho's Kall-Su leads this group. That's right.
I'm the High King of Ice. Ba Thory is quite the character.
Who else stood out for you
? Well, let me see. I'd have to say Yngwie. He believes in me through everything. He even accepts
the changes I go through. That loyalty he has toward Kall-Su. That's something pretty amazing. Also, he's just really cool. Right. And it's not just Yngwie. All the voice actors are so eminent. Yeah. The fact that I'm the leader
of such a distinguished team. You're right. They're all such veterans. Come to think of it. Mr. Yusa does Zion. I was shocked. You're right. I really felt that pressure. I p
robably didn't have to,
but I felt it. Going in to record
with over ten veterans like that. - That's got to be hard.
- It really was. I bet all those veterans
joked around bowing down to you. Like, "High King, my lord." Bol Gil Bol too. Mr. Fujiwara. Definitely. There's lots of great characters,
so we hope you find a favorite. The Sorcerer Shoguns aren't
the only interesting characters. Don't forget the Samurai Army. Next, the samurais led by DS
to rebuild the Kingdom of A-Ian-Maide. Terashima,
please. Joshua Belaira. He's from a prestigious family and
became a Samurai Master as a youth. He was an instructor at Mifune's dojo,
so he's super strong. As a proud samurai, loyalty
and civility is everything to him. Right. His special attack is
"Butterfly Dance Ashura Strike". So cool. Again? Butterfly Dance Ashura Strike! Why'd you say it again? He cares for Kai Harn, yet... I see. So that's my character. He's a proper handsome guy. Yeah, my team is kind of boring
compared to the shoguns. Th
ere's no Bol Gil Bol. Exactly. I should've gone first. A bit serious. Right. Since we're samurais. They're all straightforward. And Joshua is their leader. He's super responsible. Him and Mifune. So he's really serious. Nothing else to say. Yes, I get what you mean. But let's take a look
at the team first. Okay then. Here they are. Di-amon is on the wrong side. It's crazy. But he swore loyalty. Right. The bottom half is crazier. Accused. He doesn't stand out,
but there's Mohi. Mohi leaves an imp
ression though. He dies brilliantly too. They shout his name. That's pretty rare. You're right. So that's great. There are some good characters. There's some famous voice actors too. Angus's voice isn't revealed yet? Actually, it is by the time
this is aired. It's Mr. Sugita. - Right.
- His face gets split. That was shocking. Traumatic. It's like "Total Recall". An homage to Arnold. But he doesn't change that much. Mr. Hayami's Mifune was amazing. Definitely. I met him just once. It's quite an i
ntense set
of characters. You're right. But in this team, I'd say
Di-amon is the most interesting. You're right. He's in his own category. He's special. Joshua is like
the leader of this team. This array of characters. So he's the most samurai-like. And he's a really honest guy. Terashima is perfect for the role. - Terashima is...
- Classy. He's actually pretty serious inside. On the outside too. Yeah! So that's...
Oops, I forgot to tie this. What about Joshua? Don't stop there. No, but really.
So this anime... the casting is just amazing. It's really thought out. And I mean it. We hope everyone enjoys it. And those are the characters. Now, let's talk about our favorites
concerning the anime. It's "Our Favorites of BASTARD!!" We have so many favorites. We chose our favorite scenes from
episodes 25 to 39 in Season Two. Let's see what we've chosen. First up, what's your favorite scene,
Fukuyama? Here it is. The laws of heaven, the laws of land,
the laws of man. He's so extreme.
He used t
o act so big and strong. And now, this. He goes all out when he's scared too. And this. The drawings are amazing. Man of war is a really strong spell, so we really worked on
getting this right. I see. It's not depicted that much
in the manga. Just here. I'm honored to see it in action. Like, "Argh!" The best death scene of the decade. He screams. He gets blown away. That scream is great. I see. So tell us why you chose this scene. As a fan of the manga,
and as I said earlier, they really tried t
o stay faithful
to the original manga. Saying, "Off you go
to the Great Spirit World!" That's Tetsuro Tamba. Exactly. Thanks to Netflix, we were
able to bring back Tetsuro Tamba. That's funny. Mangas today aren't like that anymore. But those little bits show
the new generation what it was like. They can understand
what the times were like. The anime brought that to life. Saying "to the Great Spirit World"
is the same as telling someone to die. It gives a glimpse into
the fads from that era. As a
fan of old anime and manga, I'm so glad they kept that. This is also how I discovered
the band Manowar. It's still my favorite
heavy metal band. Really? That's incredible. You're so passionate. So you've loved Manowar for so long? Yes, I have. Wow. I didn't know that. That's incredible. - You're really enjoying it.
- Yeah. That scene was drawn
really huge in the manga. Yeah, a whole page
for that line. The line doesn't
really make sense though. But you can get a feel for the times. And for some
reason,
Macapine's covering his eyes. Just his eyes? So detailed. That's interesting. That was Fukuyama's favorite scene. Next is Takuma Terashima. Here it is. Enjoy. That was great. The samurais. That pose is exactly how it is
in the manga. - True.
- That weird pose. How does he do
Ashura Strike from that? They all contribute here. The team has some good scenes
in the first half. But they lose so badly.
So I chose the second half. They're fighting the Sorcerer Shoguns. As a leader of the samur
ais,
I want everyone to shine. The higher the position,
the bigger the shoulder pads. Oh wow, you're right. So like the ‘80s. They're doing so great. The Sorcerer Shoguns are also
doing amazing here too. It's pretty awesome. Gara and Nei come too. They both look so strong. - Awesome.
- The shoulder pads were big. They get so huge. They'll protect you from anything. Joshua shows how strong he is
by damaging it. I also wanted everyone to see
Mohi's dying scene. I should've chosen that. Mohi! I lov
e it. But as a samurai leader,
this scene is most significant to you. Yes, Season Two's battles are so huge. And these human battles
are really worth the watch. Who do you like besides Mohi? I'm all Mohi. Wow, I felt the love there. Mohi lover. I want a mohawk too. One of these days. And the story that leads up to it.
Why it got there was good too. Another great part of the anime. We hope you like it too. Okay, on to Kensho. For me... I loved the scene
with the pure, beautiful tears. It was so m
oving and touching. Here's the scene I chose. That's what strength is! I will prove that to you now. Come, Dark Schneider. Macapine has a hostage
and is only thinking about winning. Right, only about winning. "Winning is everything!" Just like in the manga. It is. Look it up
if you're interested. And this guy dies too. This scene here. They're on his side,
the Sorcerer Shoguns. I couldn't help but laugh
when I saw this. Ba Thory. Actually, it's right after this. Ba Thory gets stepped on. And inn
ocent tears fall from his eye. You'll have to watch
the whole thing then. And there's another one. I tell everyone to find him
no matter what. And they all answer, "Yes, sir!" That felt so good. The Sorcerer Shoguns. It was all so beautifully in unison. It felt great. That was new for you. He only had Abigail until then. Not in past anime either? A team with such incredible actors. That must've felt good. So I chose that. Like, "Hey, Boss!" The cast is amazing. So don't miss it. Next is the scen
e I chose. Okay. Here it is. Let's watch it. What's this? I love that. You're the one that's going to die,
you nuthead. He says "nuthead" so many times. That's funny. Like, "I'm allowed to?" "Nuthead" has a beautiful ring to it. No, it doesn't. Wake up. Do you realize what you're saying? The huge scale of the scene,
and the number of "nuts". There's only two nuts though. Nobody has more than two. Maybe just one. You don't get to say it very often. I see. I said it over and over. Okay. And it's a
really serious scene too. Like, "You nuthead!" - You liked it.
- It was fun. You're enjoying this too. As you're saying this. Nuthead, huh? The character portrayal
is great here too. But I bet the author
started having fun with this. It's written over and over. And it was in the anime,
faithful to the manga. He says it four times
in that short scene. Four nuts. Or actually eight. Eight total. You're right. - Also...
- It's Gara's greatest scene. Not just the nuts. It's definitely his coolest sc
ene. Right? He just says nuthead a lot. He would've been cool
if he said it less. It's too late now. But having that
in those awesome scenes... A lot of sub-characters in
hero anime that adults like are like that nowadays. It's a classic scene. Anyway, I had fun with it. I actually chose another scene too.
One without Gara. Here it is. Everyone loves this. Definitely. Yeah, this scene. Right there. You chose a good one. The way Di-amon was portrayed
as being really strong but being really cute w
ithout
his powers began here. Yes, you might be right. There's so many roses.
The original manga is like that too. Actually, the staff added more roses
to make that scene. And Mr. Koyasu
changed his voice for this. Of course he would. Mr. Koyasu's cute little boy voice. He does it so beautifully. They knew how to cast Mr. Koyasu. That's how you use him. You might not have felt it, but just as I was cast as Macapine, info about Di-amon was also released. So when that happened, I knew I'd be drown
ed out
if I didn't give it my all. You knew you were in trouble. I know the manga. These two are
of the same type, but different characters. I needed to know who'd play Di-amon,
and when I learned it was Mr. Koyasu, I knew I had to give it my all. You couldn't slack off. I see. That's interesting. That things are going to get crazy. They were serious about the casting. That's so true. That's funny. The jokes in the anime
are what make it so great. So don't miss it. And Taniyama. For me, when I r
ead the manga, this is when the story
starts to get interesting. From around volume 9,
which is where Season Two starts, there are more jokes
and meta perspectives. That's all recreated faithfully
in the anime. As Dark Schneider,
here's the scene I chose. He split into little ones. It's nonsensical. But they faithfully made it
into the anime. You did all the voices
for the little Dark Schneiders too. Mr. Ito did this Lucien too. We called him in just for that. He came too. For this episode. This
scene is so ‘90s. Right? It's pretty nostalgic. It makes no sense. A very classic style. This here. And Yoko's canines have grown too. It's so old school. I know, it's so ‘90s. So amazing. What a nice seat. The perfect seat. That's a great scene. To do that in the 2020s now... I really felt the significance of reviving the original "BASTARD!!" It's all about being faithful
to the original manga. I did all those voices too. The sound effect guy told me
to just do my regular DS voice. I did voice
it a little cuter
when we recorded it, but they just put effects on it. I did it for nothing. Your efforts to be cute. I raised my voice to be
more anime-like, like this. But they just put effects on it. I mean, I wasn't disappointed. They did use the recording. But that's old-school too.
Raising the pitch when you get small. Like this. I did all that. But it was edited in the end. It might be a small detail, but they all had fun doing it. Next is one of the creators
that made it like that. We
asked Director Ozaki
to choose his favorite scene. Mr. Slime Ozaki. Yes, Slime Ozaki. He's been nicknamed. A great nickname. His passion for the slime. Here's the scene
Mr. Slime Ozaki chose. Is it the slime? I dreamt. It's a really serious scene. Mr. Slime Ozaki. Where Dark Schneider and Nei meet. I see. She's reminiscing. We used a different aspect ratio. The director was really particular
about this scene. We used black and white too. Nei's backstory is pretty deep. I was desolate,
thinking I
was nearing death. And then... We met. That's what he chose. We should apologize
about his nickname. - For calling him Slime Ozaki.
- That's another core part of him. True, you can't change the past. He said he became an animator
to do that slime. That's what he said. "The rest was a bonus." He didn't say that, we're kidding. Let's read what he said. Right. I know that isn't true. Here's his comment. "I chose the scene
where Dark Schneider and Nei meet." "There's a lot of battle scenes,
so this
quiet and poetic depiction created the perfect break
from the tension." "It leaves a deep impression." "I think of this anime as actually
quite elegant and intelligent." So says Slime Ozaki. Slime. You ruined it. But it's true, the change there. The way the tempo is so varied
is what makes it great. The many things that happened
in the past make up today. That's another thing
that makes this story so strong. Yes, especially with Nei. Kall-Su too.
His past gives him character. He has some deep t
rauma,
giving it a serious touch. That disparity is what makes it great. This time, it was about
Dark Schneider and Kall-Su. The story revolves around them
in Season Two. Another great thing
about this section. It's almost like a love story. I just now realized, nobody chose a scene about him. Just when Kall-Su gives orders. Was he in the anime? - Maybe not.
- I saw him. Why did I choose the little DSs? That's not half as important. Huh? Actually, Mr. Tsuruoka
chose a scene with you two. Oh real
ly? Something erotic, I bet. Let's watch the scene
the erotic Mr. Tsuruoka chose. Why didn't anyone choose this scene? I know, right? My bad. This scene here. Season Two is about the battle
between DS and Kall-Su. I want all the viewers to see this. I wanted to hear you guys
talk about it too. Why didn't anyone choose it? I thought at least
the director would choose it. So that's mine anyway. I took the honor
of putting this in here. Thank you for that. We're sorry. Kall-Su uses his ultimate mag
ic,
the Testa-ment. Absolute zero annihilation. Dark Schneider is using
his magic too at the same time. It's a defense magic. He absorbs that power
and lets Helloween loose. But Kall-Su bends Helloween. This was the greatest
magic battle scene in the season. And here's where he uses
superconducting. Exactly. Abigail explains
what superconducting is here. That's how I learned about it. It comes up again later. And I was like, I know that. Right? I realized he was using
superconducting. That's the
scene. I thought somebody else
would choose it. You're making excuses. But you at least chose a scene
with your character. But Kensho chose Ba Thory. Talking about his tears and stuff. That and how it felt good
leading a great team. I'm awful. And they didn't even show his tears. Unbelievable. But the magic spell scenes
were really hard to do. Really? How was it? The battles start to
kick into high gear. So as you progressed, you had to increase the voltage
with each line. But it's so hard
to s
ay those spells like that. So as you're chanting, controlling it was really hard. And how Abigail was like, "The first one
to finish the spell will win." Like, really? Is that what the battle is about? And it even seemed like
Kall-Su's spell was shorter. I know. It was a close one. I'd say that's another thing
that makes this anime so great. In manga like that,
nobody makes a move during that. They just watch. They're witnesses. So great. Right before this scene, the samurais
and shoguns were fi
ghting so hard. But they stop as these two start. They just watch together. You can't get in their way. Thank you for choosing it. Thank you. We just watched our favorite scenes. Next, let's decide
who the MVP of Season Two is. Kensho, who's the MVP
of the Sorcerer Shoguns? Who would the MVP of Season Two be? Who did their best? Don't say it... Don't you dare. What, really? No, but seriously... Macapine. Of course it's Macapine. I knew that'd be your answer. But Ba Thory and Macapine were close.
They were together. That was a close call. You scared me there. The way Macapine tries to act strong
was incredible. You were saying that the whole time. It was such an impeccable portrayal. I don't know what he meant by it, but Mr. Tsuruoka was like,
"That's Fukuyama." I feel like he meant something. I wouldn't know.
But he acknowledged you. - You can't overdo it, either.
- Right. I tried to have a wide range
in my acting. And the scream was faithful
to the original. He knows how to do that ‘9
0s vibe. As original manga fans,
we just love it. All voice actors
are basically anime fans. So we know what's expected. I was born lopsided,
but went straight in that direction. I have no clue what that means. I'm not going to go with that. You went a bit too hard with that. That's Fukuyama for you. I think I'll ask Kisho this next one. Who's the MVP of the samurais? As Dark Schneider... I'd say Joshua. He's the leader of the whole group. He's very serious. The serious guy, seriously leading
a
group of serious samurais. That's why Dark Schneider
has the freedom to do as he wants. That's true. DS needs Joshua.
DS could do whatever thanks to him. - Thank you.
- I'm a gentleman like that. I didn't say that. I admitted to just being nice. So I choose Joshua. Joshua was so reliable. - That's true.
- For me and the director too. Very trustworthy. The one time Joshua gets mad
at Dark Schneider, is when he goes to sneak
a nightly visit to Kai Harn. Joshua gets really mad then. Joshua doesn't
get that stuff,
but still. Forgive me. For what he did. The way he drew the sword.
Mr. Kuroda loves that scene. - Really?
- I wanted to let you know. It's a break for the samurais. Yes, it shows Joshua's cute side. That's also why it's so great. Thank you. So the reliable Joshua
is the MVP of the samurais. Thank you so much. Please rewatch the anime
and focus on those scenes. And those were our favorite scenes. You may have noticed that none of
the female cast are here today. Took you long enoug
h. This late in the show? That's true. I'm basically the most feminine here. - Just the hair.
- Nobody thinks so. It's almost reaching your boobs. Nobody agrees. But the female characters are
essential to the "BASTARD!!" world. So here's the next topic. Who's your favorite
"BASTARD!!" heroine? This is going to be fun. Since we're all guys here. We just discussed our favorite scenes. Next, we'll talk about who
our favorite female characters are. It's like boys talking after school. We've done 39
anime episodes,
which is up to volume 12, but there aren't
a lot of females characters. True. Only six main females. Here they are. Tia Noto Yoko, Arshes Nei,
Sheila Tuel Meta-llicana, Kai Harn, Sean Ari, Shella E. Lee. Thank you. Look at Sheila's costume. Thank you, Princess! It's crazy.
It's basically just strings. This is Season Two, so she's being held hostage. She's being sacrificed. Imagine choosing to wear that. She wore some pretty racy clothes
in Season One too. The princess tends to be
pretty risqué. She's in the middle too. Compare that to Shella. Totally opposite. Very likable. She'll turn you to ice.
And she's a good singer. That's the female cast. Kensho and I
chose the same character. - Really?
- Let's take a look. Who is it? Obviously. In Season Two especially. Right? I could've chosen Sean Ari, but that's in Season One. I chose Yoko for Season Two
for how she matures. The story behind all that. DS. Why did you choose her, Kensho? The same for me,
her growth was a big f
actor. Her change of heart and
how much more responsible she gets. She grows into a strong
and responsible woman. And she used to have
pretty short hair in Season One. The way her hair grew out
in Season Two... That really impressed me. She becomes so much
more feminine and charming. She became an adult woman. She motivates the samurai. The samurais are all like, "Yoko...!" They can't help but utter it. I love that too. A lot of Yoko lovers. And the way she accepts it.
It lets a guy dream. I see
. From a guy's point of view. She's okay with Dark Schneider. She just accepts him no matter
what he does. You want that. I get it. Do you? You're so into her. He's into her? He's dead serious about it. There's another person
that chose Yoko. But he chose Yoko
from a different perspective. It's Takuma Terashima. Let's take a look and see
why he chose Yoko. Raise the volume. Don't you forget it. We'll never bow down
to Kall-Su's oppression. Kai and I were both okay. So now, it's my turn to protec
t you. Why are you always like that?
Look me in my eyes. The rebels of Meta-llicana... What? Don't you dare talk back to me. I shouldn't have worried. My butt is mine. What am I to you...? So tell us. We both chose Yoko. But your comments are so basic. We're talking about
our favorite character. Growth? That's too easy. He's mad.
I've never seen him like this. Come on, bare your souls. It wasn't enough? Bare your inner feelings. Okay, then tell us. Taniyama, you know what I mean. The way she ref
ers to herself as "boku". She says "boku",
but she's the main heroine. That's pretty rare. What sort of fetish
does the author have? And she's a beautiful young girl. She grows, becomes more feminine,
but stills says "boku". I love that disparity. And she uses “kimi” towards DS. That too. Yeah, I liked that too. And it's in katakana not kanji,
making it more awkward. And she says "dazo"
like a young boy. I love it. Those two on the end are creepy. Those creepy otaku. And that's what shaped Japan
today. The otaku voice actors. Creepy otaku voice actors. Boku, kimi, dazo. Yes, those words define her. What is it that you like
about those words? It's not about the logic. It's about the emotions. I shouldn't have asked. It's the groove. - Yeah.
- The groove. Yoko's way of talking is cute. It's so cute. That's why I love it. Next, Fukuyama. Here it is. Look at that high slit. It's dinner, DS. Look at her. Her mouth. Don't say that. Watch out. You'll get in trouble. I set myself up for that.
So awesome. It's so emotional. That position. Stop it right there. Do you realize how much
I waited for you? That's so beautiful. Arshes Nei. When I was younger, I loved Yoko,
Sheila, and Sean, but as I grew older,
I grew fonder of Arshes. She can be strict to others,
as long as she's soft for me. You're speaking for DS. I want someone to be soft for me. Seriously? You're baring everything today. You're both being very transparent. Exactly. Wow, really? That's all I wish for. You don't care abou
t anything else. Nothing else. You're an adult. She's also like
the original dark-skinned elf. That's true. She's the first one
that comes to mind. It's ingrained in me. And she's a strong woman, but she turns into a child
when she's with someone she trusts. That makes it so much better. You know? He's serious about it. You're so happy about it. That must've felt good. And next, Taniyama. Here it is. Yup, here it is. I wondered who was next. I see. It's the princess for me. She went flying. She
was great from Season One.
DS got to grab her butt. The only person that can protect you. I feel sorry for her. - Right?
- Especially in Season Two. Here's her final scene. Her feelings for DS are so ephemeral. Please save him. She's so star-crossed. This reminiscence is great too. I know. She's doing this all for him. I know, right? She passes on without having
experienced many things. And that's so tragic. And to be honest, I love her costume. Don't you? I wanted to see more of it. And through
out Season Two, she didn't want to, but was forced
to wear those clothes. She was destined to be like that. It's just so tragic. So that aspect. And the costume. You came back to that. In the end. The director's favorite
was also Sheila. Really? He likes Sheila the best. "She's the classic
fantasy princess character." "She's pure and self-sacrificing." "What a woman!" "She just lacked luck." That's true. "Some idiots doing stupid things
have more luck than her." "It's not that I love her just fo
r her
sexy costume. Don't get me wrong." Then don't say that. Slime Ozaki. Basically the same as Taniyama. Pretty much. But if an actual girl wore that, how would you feel? She'd look like a party animal. That's true. If you didn't know her story. Like, "Whoo!" I'd be put off. You know? If a party animal showed up in that, I'd be kind of put off. Like, whoa. Calm down bro. Why "bro"? It's the disparity for me. How the innocent Sheila
is dressed like a hard party animal. That disparity. Lots of p
eople say it, but the greater
the disparity, the more interesting. You know? Like pullback car toys.
The more you pull, the more they run. I don't get it. Come on! That wasn't that good of an example. - Really?
- It's not close at all. And the costume? Okay, let's get back on topic. Here's Mr. Tsuruoka's favorite. You just mentioned the costumes. I wanted to talk about the ending. Mr. Ozaki came up
with the idea for this. The original manga had pictures
of how they'd look in the present. DS and
everyone. There's a few drawings of that. We used that for the ending. But not all the characters
were in those drawings. These costumes were really awesome. This is the only time
Shella is wearing female clothes. It's really cute. I really love how old-fashioned
Yoko's swimsuit is here. I see. This is really in the ‘90s style. Like an old beer commercial. Or swimsuit models. These are original costumes. Sheila, Kai Harn, and Sean
weren't in the manga drawings. So we created those costumes. Nei
is in a wetsuit. And Dark Schneider. This Yoko here. The hoodie's color is old-school. It's so nostalgic. Yoko's swimsuit here is my favorite. I see. I want to stop it just to gaze at it. Everyone's costume
is worth mentioning. Yes, I wanted everyone to see that. Kai, Sean, and Sheila
were original designs by Mr. Ozaki. Fantasy or contemporary style,
the shoulders are huge either way. That's true. Huge shoulders. So we talked about
our favorite characters. We'll actually have a cast member
comme
nt on what we just talked about. Seriously? We really bared ourselves here. Bare naked. It's too late now. Oh well. I don't actually hate it. Really? You like the attention. You'll see how the person
reacted to our comments. No way. I'm scared. Because it hasn't been taped yet. We don't know who it is. The viewers will get to see it though. And that's it
with discussing our favorites. "BASTARD!!
-Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-". Season Two anime release special! Hello, thanks for watching. Season Tw
o has been released! The guys have already discussed
their favorites, and I got to watch them too. Some chose Sheila as their favorite. Mr. Taniyama and Mr. Ozaki,
thank you so much. But was it because of the costume?
Anyway... Sheila's costume really is great.
Especially in Season Two. It's hard to believe she's a princess
with all the skin she's showing, but I believe it's a sacred costume. Putting that aside, Sheila's charm
is the beauty that's within. She's so caring and self-sacrificing. Sh
e may be a fragile young girl, but she's always thinking
about what she can do for others. She is the ideal princess. She may not always be successful, but I was very happy
to be able to portray her. Sheila goes through so much
in Season Two. We'll see more about
her secret past too. I poured my heart into
doing her voice, so please enjoy watching it. I hope you like Season Two. Information about the series.

so follow the official account. And t
hat's it. It's time to say goodbye.
Thank you for today. Thank you. Is there anything
you'd like to clear up? I think I like grown-up Yoko too. I know, right? The way she matures. Erotic in a very good way. I see. Who knows who's watching,
so just say it, huh? Put it out there. Exactly. Everyone else okay? Yes. Thanks. We'll have one final word
from the cast to our viewers. I'll go first.
Thank you for watching today. We've loved this manga
ever since we were kids. It's on hiatus right now, but.
.. It was interesting watching it
come to life again. It was a real honor
to be a part of it all. It's all thanks to the fans
that we reached Season Two. Please continue your support. Let's all get "hot" all over. Next, Fukuyama. We talked about the charms
of the "BASTARD!!" anime, the original manga,
and our characters. We were able to discuss it thoroughly. So I think you'll know the answer
to this question. What's your favorite "pine"? Yes, Macapine. Thank you. You're a genius. How did you co
me up with that? Favorite pine? These people are really fun,
as you've just witnessed. I really had fun with this show. If you liked it too,
make sure to watch the anime. If you go watch it, you'll understand
what we're talking about. I hope you enjoy "BASTARD!!"
to the fullest. Keep watching. The original manga too. Next, Kensho. Thank you for watching. As Kall-Su,
Season Two is where it begins. It's very important for him. So I hope you watch it. Since there were only guys here today, I had fu
n talking about
so many things. I got to discover
new perspectives too. So if you watch it again, I think you can
enjoy the anime even more. I hope you keep enjoying it. My favorite pine is... "oppine" boobs. No way, seriously? You really went there. No way. Don't be jealous of him. What an ending. That was shocking. You let it all out. You didn't need to, either. That's Kall-Su for you. Thank you. Let's go to Mr. Tsuruoka next. Okay. Thank you all for watching. If you've watched the anime,
you'
ll see it ends at the best part. If a lot of people watch Season Two, we may be able to continue. So tell your friends to watch it. If each person
tells ten more people to watch it, and then they tell ten more, the "BASTARD!!" fanbase
will continue to grow. So please go out and share it
and watch it again. Thank you all again. Now, I think we're ready
to finish it off. Okay. Well, everyone loves boobs. That again? The boobs in this anime
are especially huge. That's true. "BASTARD!!" isn't just M
acapine,
but "oppine" also. It's a great show. He's stupid. It's your fault. That Macapine over there. I think it's more like his fault. Jeez. There's erotica, violence,
and ‘90s nostalgia. We revived it all. I think you can really enjoy it. Dark Schneider is an embodiment
of a teenage boy's mind. The greed, libido,
violence, everything. I hope you'll find
satisfaction in that. Season Two goes all out. I hope you watch it
over and over during summer vacation. You'll have an unforgettable summer.
The beach and the river are fun too. And the pool. But don't forget to watch "BASTARD!!" The summer of 2023 will be
a "BASTARD!!" summer. I hope you really enjoy it. - Thank you.
- Thank you. We hope you continue
to support "BASTARD!!" Thank you all for watching. Let's say farewell with DS's spell. - Ready?
- Okay. The camera's over there. Ready? Damned! - Goodbye.
- Bye. Watch the anime. Thank you for watching!
