l break from the city's chaos dilia finds the Simplicity intolerable she hires a decorator named AO to make the house more appealing to her tastes and vision of livability Adam and Barbara make several attempts to scare the dees but their efforts are futile as it appears that the living are unable to feel the presence of the Dead seeking Refuge they go to the attic where Adam locks the door despite their efforts Lydia discovers a skeleton key and tries to open the door as Adam and Barbara interv

ene to prevent her from succeeding a television in the Attic suddenly turns on Advertising the services of a character named Beetlejuice who claims to be able to scare away the living people Adam using the handbook for guidance builds a doorway that leads him and Barbara to a reception area in the afterlife where they meet others who have met untimely deaths dilia and oo accompany them to a specific chamber displaying their home after after it has been redesigned they meet their caseworker Juno

who chastises them for their haunting tactics and warns them not to follow the advice of the person they saw on TV back at home Adam and Barbara disguised themselves in sheets in an attempt to scare Charles and dilia only to be disappointed once more Lydia irritated by the Eerie sounds stumbles upon them and to their surprise she can actually see them Lydia revealed that she came across their handbook and discovered a passage that explains how living people Overlook The Peculiar and unconvention

t to bring them downstairs after the Deets is requested but they refuse consequently everyone rushes to the attic demanding that the maand reveal themselves however when they arrive the attic is empty Charles is fascinated by the miniature Town while atho locates and confiscates the handbook exiting the attic Charles realizes a potentially lucrative business opportunity on the horizon however his excitement quickly turns to Terror when Beetlejuice transforms into a massive snake causing Havoc by

pushing oo down the stairs and causing Charles to fall to the floor beneath Barbara intervenes commanding the snake to stop by saying beetlejuice's name three times Lydia who is deeply distressed interprets the snake's actions as Sinister intent on the part of the maitlands rather than mere fear Juno confronts the maand once more berading them for breaking several rules including allowing photographs of themselves releasing Beetle Juice and allowing atho access to the handbook Juno urges them t

eir decomposing corpses Lydia rushes to the model panicked and discovers Beetlejuice in the cemetery she begs him for help and Beetlejuice agrees with the condition that Lydia marry him in exchange Lydia reluctantly agrees and the mate are rescued however Beetlejuice holds Lydia accountable for her promise and captures Charles and deia as Witnesses allowing oo to escape Adam and Barbara both struggle with beetlejuice's schemes as he transports Adam into the model and Barbara to the sandw planet
