Here's how we animated a weevil digging into an acorn using 3D modeling, painting and visual effects software. First, we blocked out the overall form of the weevil in ZBrush. The goal was just to establish the basic forms of the body. Once the body took shape, we started sculpting in the details. And the specific anatomy features were sculpted in one by one. After levels of refinement, we reached a point where we could actually address color. And we painted the weevil in ZBrush before exporting
it to Cinema 4D. In Cinema 4D, we created cameras to capture the action, and we built an animation rig to move all the parts of the body. The rigging was refined to make the 3D model come alive. So hey, if you can't get enough of weevils, we put one on a pint glass For a limited time, support us on Patreon at $10 a month -- and it's yours. Link in the description.
