I HAVE NEVER HEARD AN ENGLISH DUB SOUND SO SIMILAR TO THEIR JAPANESE COUNTERPART!! This is amazing! And her singing is perfect too
Just saw this movie tonight, holy cow it was good! Visually it is one of the best and most complex pieces of animations I've ever seen. Emotionally, despite being about a teenage girl, it dealt with a lot of universal themes (death & abuse) that will connect with anybody. These scenes ended up becoming very emotional and will probably impact even the most hardened souls. I greatly recommend it!
Never thought the english dub would get a singer to play belle, let alone cover the songs themselves too. The song translations are stellar also. Damn this might convince me to watch both dubs at least once.

Hello. I'm Japanese. I love Kaho Nakamura. but, the English version of the song is also very nice. I hear so many people say, "I like the original song too." I'm very happy about that. It may not be a common language. However, the melodies she creates are wonderful, and I encourage you to listen to them. With thanks to Kylie McNeil and her staff 吹き替えのことを、dubというのを初めて知りました。TOEIC400点なので普通にDeepl使いつつ書いたけど、届くといいな。中村佳穂さんも、Kylie McNeilさんも、歌を紡ぐひとたちでとても素敵だと思っています。これからも頑張って欲しいな！
This was one of the best movies that I've seen in a LOOONG TIME! And I'm not even too into anime, but I loved this so much!
Imagine having to step up to the role of Suzu after Kaho Nakamura's incredible breakthrough performance in the original. I was worried they wouldn't cast someone who could give the same feeling. Boy was I wrong. Wow!!! Hats off to Kylie McNeill. I look forward to seeing the rest of this in English!
So many comments about how beautiful Kylie McNeil's voice is, and I completely agree. But, the casting director deserves a raise for finding these two voices for Suzu/Belle that manage to compliment each other so well! I usually can't watch dubs after hearing the original, because the characters just sound so different expressively that it feels wrong, like they aren't the same character anymore. But I didn't get that from this one at all, albeit only from the short trailers I've seen.
I haven't felt this emotional watching a movie with this kind of animation sinds 'Wolf Children'. I hope we get to see more of these movies in the future. If I had to make a list it would look like this: - Wolf Children - Belle - Summer Wars - Boy and the Beast - The Girl who leapt true time - etc.
I've been listening to the Japanese OST songs non-stop, I NEED to hear the full English versions from this trailer! her voice sounds so beautiful, I hope they release the English covers to spotify soon :))

I’m amazed that suzu’s English VA is really similar to Japanese one!!!! I used to original one as Japanese, but I didn’t feel strange at all hearing English VA. She did amazing job…
For the first few amount of times, i actually want to watch the english dub because it just sounds incredible, i DID NOT expect the singing to be really simmilar to the original one, it's SO GOOD

I have patiently waited for this movie since it was officially announced ages ago. Hosoda despite my lukewarm feelings about Mirai is one of my favorite directors period. The man deserves more recognition and I hope the effort GKids has clearly put into this dub can bring him closer to that. Wish the dub was available near me in IMAX but I'll take a normal screen.
Before this, I was instantly entranced by the animation and then I heard the music. Ohhh the music! Belle's voice and the score has me wanting to see this for a while. Now, I'm even MORE convinced that I want to see this! I WANT TO HEAR BELLE SING.
This movie is just incredible…I typically stay away from anime like this, but god damn this is an impressive movie. The music was incredible, the visual were astonishing, and the narrative was interesting. Now I’m not a person to get emotional, but I almost broke down crying in the theatre.
