Kei Talks

This Anime is insensitive! Yes, you heard it right. Blue Lock is an insensitive anime which is centered around player's ego... ...and it's just the tip of the iceberg. Is this really one of the world's best anime? Let's talk about it in today's video. Hello guys, welcome to my YouTube Channel. I am Kei and you're watching Kei Talks. As you can guess from the amateur lighting and plain backdrop that this is my first video... ...so by the grace of God let's inaurage this channel. Guys, I've finall
y finished watching Blue Lock Season 1. Before starting the series, i did not even expect that this anime is going to be so addictive. Why is this anime so addictive? Why are people going crazy over this? How is it different from other sports anime? To know all of that and more, please watch this video till the end. Blue Lock anime is the adaptation of Blue Lock manga, which is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. This name is kinda reminding me of Inosuke getting Tanjiro's name wrong. [Tentoro!!] [Mo
njiro!!] It is produced by the eightbit studio which is the studio... ...behind works like 'That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime' and 'Tokyo Ravens' This anime is available on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Synopsis: After the defeat of 'Japan Football Team' in the World Cup, the JFU hires a mysterious Jinpachi Ego. His plan to help Japan snatch the World Cup victory is Blue Lock project. Top 300 U-19 strikers from all over Japan will compete in this for the first place. The loser will be kicked ou
t of the magical world of Soccer... ...and the winner will emerge as the world's biggest egotistical striker. Guys, let's understand what is Blue Lock project. Blue Lock is a prison-like facility where you can enter willingly, but cannot leave without Jinpachi's say so. Even your phones will be confiscated. This controversial project's goal is to create the world's biggest egotist striker, who can lead Japan to World Cup victory. There are 25 teams in total, from Team B to Team Z, divided into 5
groups. One group per building. What sets Blue Lock apart from other sports anime is its out-of-the-box concept. Most sports series focus on building a team, but Blue lock focuses solely on player's individual skills. First episode is quite slow due to its main focus on story building. Episode 2 to 24 are fast-paced and i didn't find anything wrong with their speed. Along with the vibrant hair of the characters, their personality is also vibrant, which will force you to cheer for them. It will
keep surprising you by introducing badass characters one after the other. Unlike a typical shonen, there is no good or bad character. Each character has their own struggles and motivations, who are just competing to make their dreams come true. Let's meet Blue Lock's MC: Yoichi Isagi! Yoichi Isagi is an ambitious 17 year old soccer player. Episode 1 begins with the crushing of his dream. The protagonist is shown losing and facing difficulties head on several times, to which you will be able to r
elate. And why not, failure and pain are the biggest teachers of a human being. Despite being at the bottom of Blue Lock, he continues to grow by braving new challenges, and has become confident enough to compete with the top contenders of Blue Lock. His character development is worth watching. One should learn to create anticipation from the BL creators. In the very first episode, they introduced a character about whom we know nothing about. Who is he? Where did he come from? Even after creatin
g so much suspense, if BL creators failed to deliver his solid backstory then... [I will have my vengeance in this life or the next.] While watching this anime, you will find your mind constantly thinking about... What's going to happen next? Who will be eliminated next? What upcoming challenges will our heroes have to face? From the very beginning this suspense will keep you at the edge of your seat. This anime is combative which certainly raises the stakes. If you lose in BL, not only your dre
am of playing soccer will be shattered... but also your dream of representing Japan. Moving to animation, it is very clean, sharp and well detailed. Eyes transformation is amazing, which not only captured the one-track-mind of players really well... but also nicely depicted the cruel and sadist nature of Jinpachi Ego. Avatar designs of every player is interesting and funny. There are on-point analogies at every turn which are really good. Like after crushing 299 strikers, only one striker can cl
imb to the top. This analogy is outstanding. The writer also played with the words. Playground has been called a Battlefield, Strengths have been called Weapons and Match has also been compared to War, which emphasize on how intense and rough Blue Lock really is. Everyone would be able to relate to its competitive, upskilling, and never give up themes to a certain extent. There are also some things that makes it unrealistic, but who doesn't want to escape reality every now and then, huh? One thi
ng is for sure though, it certainly keeps things interesting. Due to competition being tough, the story always runs on a serious mode. To make it spicy, fun-factor is also added in the mix. To pull it off smoothly is an amazing talent all on its own. Season 1 of Blue Lock ended on a bitter-sweet note. I feel excited and sad at the same time. I failed to connect with its ego-centric ideology. From the get go, it was planted in the minds of the players that forget teamwork, otherwise lock off. But
as the plot thickens, we find all the players relying on teamwork and coordination. What about their ego?! This series produced multiple prodigies in a single season. [Isn't this too much?] The more you use something, the less its effect becomes. Not able to properly explain the soccer terms is its another limitation. The concept of rotation is explained beautifully, but terms like dribbling, chops, nutmeg etc. are vague. Guys, i think all this should've been explained in more detail, so that e
ven people unfamiliar with the world of Soccer can enjoy it to the fullest. [Brother said to do so then do it.] I think, the creators shied away from showing all kinds of emotions. Emotions make life colourful, is it not? It would've been better if negative emotions were explored more along with the positive emotions. In short, this anime is insensitive sometimes, has a fair share of incongruous beliefs and can be brutal sometimes, but more than makes up for it with its badass moments. If you ca
n keep aside these warped ideas then this is one sick anime. Its positive aspects easily outweighs its negative aspects. This anime is full of dreams, commitment, hardwork, hope, persistence and love. Trust me, it is one of the best sports anime out there! If you love survival movies and shows (like Hunger Games and Squid Games) with original concept then this is your jam. Blue Lock Season 2 is officially confirmed alongside Blue Lock Movie: Episode Nagi by its creators. It's the perfect example
of striking while the iron is hot. I'm sure this is a strategic move on their part, but I'm so excited for this! [That's enough activity for one day.] That's it for today. See you in the next video. Till then - stay healthy, stay safe! Like, Share and Subscribe. Thank you for watching!
