the Blue Note comedy series continues Gary Owen [Applause] and tomorrow morning show I've ever been on yeah you guys are wide awake but probably a little too much awake right yeah the two 20 cups of coffee candy for you I'm telling you I'm I'm enjoying your dog morning like her tongue's out it's killing me now Gary you said you've been to Hawaii before what's your experience like so far uh I like it I it's funny that you guys are talking about the homeless and I go every time I'm in a cold City

and I see homeless people I go why just head West I respect the homeless here so much because that's like this is where you should be homeless yeah it's way better in Philly or New York yeah now for people that I'm familiar with your comedy and I am for people that I'm familiar oh why don't you describe what it's like what what what's your what's your uh what's your thing about I don't know I'm just talking about my life you know so I'm going through well I just got done with the divorce so clea

rly that's taken a lot okay so that's not a sad that's not a bad thing right I heard you go oh it's not a bad thing I've been there right now I know where you're at it I'm so happy different right it's just different yeah I mean when I was married I I I look like your dog [Laughter] but the thing about it is like I can only give a man's perspective how to not mess up your marriage so that's where I'm kind of at right now because some people like even my brain I'm going this is really Man heavy I

said but I can't speak for a woman right you know so my my act right now for real is really what I feel like a man needs out of a marriage to to make it successful because like it or not I'm part of a failed relationship so that's what people like I guess people like that commonality yeah and it's funny too because they it's funny when you get a divorce and people come with you after your shows they're always like I'm on my second marriage too it gets better they always say that that's the comm

on theme and it's always a secret yo it gets better yeah because if they whisper it it's more I know right right and it's like I'm fine guys it's not like I'm depressed I'm good not anymore it's a different Hawaii trip for me now this blue road comedy series has brought a lot of comedians here and that's a great room for comedy right oh it's great it's great the sound system is great the the uh was it Acoustics is the sound system but it's like a it's almost like a a sexy room yeah like some com

edy clubs for for coming for coming to be successful yeah yeah some comedy clubs doing you know you get some of them Dives you're like oh they just threw this together but this one you're like oh okay but you know they do music there too so it makes sense yeah yeah yeah so I love it there I love that room yeah now before we go I gotta I gotta point out that you actually Venture into some areas that are kind of uncomfortable for some for some but you're so comfortable in doing it delving into tha

t into the other experience you know what I'm talking about it's on the racials yeah I mean comfortable doing it well you gotta you gotta realize like my ex-wife's black yeah obviously so then we got mixed kids so you're kind of like you're the Fish Out of Water sometimes you're just you're describing your experience oh yeah I'm real comfortable in it yeah it's like I'm that new goldfish you just dropped in you know what I mean I'm just like all right this is home so let's figure it out but I I

think my career it's it's got one thing I know how to do I know how far to push the envelope without going too far okay so that's really what's kept me afloat and it's like especially with black people's like it's like they trust me now yeah like oh Gary okay Gary Gary no he's good I think I think you can kind of get away with anything in comedy if there's no malicious intent behind it yeah that's the thing I think that's what I do right yeah pretty much but you know with social media and stuff

things can get misconstrued and everything and the people that aren't familiar with you could take something out of context but I think that's the beauty of stand up because when you go to a live show and people want to make the uncomfortable comfortable yeah so they want you to go there you know what I mean and that's the beauty of the live shows that's why people say you I think cancel cultures change to stand up I was like no come to the live shows and that's what people want to hear you know

it's when people take their phones out and they give you like a 30 second snippet of maybe an eight minute bid and then they posted like oh this is what he's all about like oh that's not it yeah yeah and you miss the humor yeah completely what's the fun about it not I know you guys don't yeah this is literally the happiest morning show I've ever been on by far all right so so Gary Owen blew out tonight and tomorrow yeah 6 30 and nine we got four shows all right all right thanks for being on the
