welcome back in to get updc it is 5:23 on this Wednesday morning and today we are all getting uplifted by another big moment from one of our favorite young men in the DMV buoy Maryland's own Superstar actor and hockey player Kon Woodard the 11-year-old just won a film independent Spirit Award for best breakthrough performance in a new scripted series look and look how much he's growing up to we're watching this happen right Kon who is deaf accepted his award in America in sign language and he go
t his big acting break it's Sam in The Last of Us on HBO and he's also making strides of course on the ice as a member of the buoy hockey league and our W usa9 cameras were there when he visited the caps at practice he spent some time with Alex oetkin who gave him a signed hockey stick and then Kon taught the great eight something new how to sign his name so they both got something special out of that that's an amazing story a I love it when when a young person like that excels uh in in multiple
areas oh yeah and then he gets a chance to meet ovin as well right and he's letting nothing stop him from making those achievements and it's that part inspirational yes yeah I agree and I want to share things that uplift you too you can email us at get uplifted at wusa9.com reach out to me on X Instagram I'm on Facebook too or our get updc social pages so if you have something to share that's how you can get in touch with me and always you can just join the conversation by using the hashtag get
