--------- EPISODE CHAPTERS --------- (0:00:00) - Issues in Educational System Discussion (0:12:13) - Improving Education and School Safety (0:18:43) - Issues in Education and Society (0:35:40) - Lack of Important Life Skills Join us on the Cosmic Collabs Podcast where we tackle the pressing issues that plague our educational system. This time around, we're peeling back the layers to expose the problems that students face daily. From the relentless emphasis on rote memorization over critical thinking to the one-size-fits-all approach that stifles individuality, we're not holding back. We share personal experiences, including a revelatory one involving magic mushrooms, that forced us to question the standard measures of intelligence in schools. Listen in as we dissect the impact of these flawed methods on students' ability to truly learn and grow. The conversation shifts towards the nurturing aspects of education, exploring the need for schools to be safe havens where all learning styles are accommodated. We delve into the Steiner method as a beacon of hope for holistic learning, and recount stories of finding refuge from the turmoil of schoolyard politics. Creative minds, often left on the fringes of traditional education, are given a voice in this part of our discussion. We stress the importance of a secure environment for not just academic, but also personal development, highlighting the often-overlooked issue of bullying and the significance of adult intervention. Rounding out our chat, we address the modern challenges faced by both students and society: the prevalence of cell phone addiction, the decline of physical education, and the shortcomings of sexual education. The need for emotional intelligence, financial literacy, and the preparation for life's responsibilities like parenting, is brought to the fore. Through personal anecdotes and candid talk, we emphasize the critical life skills that are missing from our classrooms. Tune in as we consider how education can evolve to become an exploratory journey for personal growth, and hint at refining our podcast's focus to deliver even more meaningful content for you, our valued listeners. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rejoignez-nous sur le podcast Cosmic Collabs où nous abordons les problèmes urgents qui affligent notre système éducatif. Cosmic Collabs Podcast

hi everybody this is DJ redam welcome to the cosmic collabs podcast a bilingual podcast a rapper and a medium like what the hell let's [Music] go hello hello Cosmic collab podcast how you doing that crazy system that we have to go [Music] through yes I am and if anybody have like comments of uh certain problems that you uh you think that schools have that we didn't were not going to name well put them down because we took the time to do a lot of research to figure out uh the major issues in scho
ols and try to find Solutions we're a team we're a team so I I talk in we not me oh we me there when I was a kid it it it may seems crazy but we're going to start with drugs I took shrooms for the first time and when I took shrooms and I started thinking about school for the first time and uh without no friends or so you're just in your your head thinking about what school is andro shroom a MAG mag mushrooms oh so so uh I literally thinking about school and I'm like what the hell because since t
he beginning I'm like I'm thinking that school is just the base of starting life and everything like like just the the the the normal relax thing and when I start thinking about it on TRS I'm like it's really not oh you're smarter than this person no no it's if you remember the brainwash or the history that they told you well you're considered smart well for me that's a problem so somebody that would be example of autism and would have like picture memory well automatically this P this person wo
uld be considered the top person in the school because he would be flawless flawless everywhere so uh in schools in US and Canada we emphasize the fact of memorization instead of like critical thinking and like understanding our own getting to our own conclusion so it's not oh you figure out the problem I no it's if you remember this [ __ ] right you're considered smart so that stops people from uh evolving and knowing how to get the answers by themselves absolutely and most tests are are made l
ike ABCD right and if you know the Rhythm you know that if there's three A's in a Row the fourth one is probably not an A so so at the end of everything you can do the test you want but since it's memorization you'll never be able to see which person is really ahead of of anybody so I I don't think that's the the right way to go and we've been doing this for like over a hundred years [Laughter] for [Laughter] [Music] um for and also that like H every person is completely different the mind is so
complex and even today we got trouble giving the good medication to the right person so then you're going to put everybody in that same boat of education and being like oh you got to learn the same way as this person and this the same way as this person you got be tested the same way and it's like well there's some people that are more visual there's some people that are more mechanical so but they're gonna Force us to all fit that script and so again coming back to my other point before you li
terally can't know at the end of everything who really is is the the the smarter person in in the whole pack it's literally memorization and I find about test like you said and about homework well they put so much pressure that and and a lot of kids like we're already telling ourselves we sacrifice ourselves to be here six hours a day and then we go back home and we still got an hour something to do again it's like it it puts so much pressure on kids it's it's incredible I remember when I was a
kid and I saw that I had economics I was like oh this is awesome got to learn about money I'm G to know how to how how to do deals how to pay taxes and [ __ ] and you go in economics and the only thing you learn the only thing you learn that even today it's not even proven it's literally supply and demand yes supply and demand is a a a good way to go for the basis but it it's nothing when life is so complex uh uh uh that won't give you the answers to everything and economics is exactly that they
don't tell you how to pay your bills they don't tell you how to pay taxes they don't tell you [ __ ] about what economics that don't tell you I'm like what the whole time I was expecting so much numbers because I was addicted to math I love math I love things are logic so I was expecting economics to be filled with great information for future and there was literally nothing in here and I I was just looking through that notebook I'm like is there something further that we're gonna figure out no
there's nothing I don't I don't get why they just scratched a surface on a topic that would be so important for people for said it 30 years later she's still [Laughter] [Laughter] traumatized [Music] for for or your own values and stuff you get taught stuff that for you it just comes out of ear and the other but to be considered smart you gotta remember it so you better take notes so they emphasize the fact that oh 1945 uh 2003 and like focus on those those dates but after like a year you asked
that person so what was that that conver that controversy that happened in 2003 that the person don't remember he just remembers 2003 so that if we would teach people why histories a certain way or or uh like let let them learn by themselves that number not oh just remember 2003 you gotta be good for the test I remember many teachers telling us stuff like that like H you just got to remember to answer people like like stop stop with everything just remember the answers it was so weird cuz we're
so different and I remember like in uh in gym class uh people that would not be athletes or would not be people that would like physical education the only thing that we would tell him and that I find is okay at least participate at least participate and they would get a good a good grade like a passing grade at least as long as you're participating but you can't do that in any other class that that exists in high school elementary school well why they do that it's because they know that people
are different there's some people that eat sports for living and there's people that are like no I don't want to touch the ball and they're gonna fake not having their gym clothes to not do gym why is this so if if let's say every class would be made a bit more like that not just oh if you participate but like having different methods of learning and having different methods to getting the answer out would be a would be a way more you could see way more the differential in people because they a
ll try to fit people in the same mold with the same kind of testing the same kind of education the same kind of memorization of stuff but we're all completely different I never met somebody that was completely agree with me about anything that total because always something different in every different person [Music] rol Steiner oh really that's awesome they all Marley for foree for um I think that that's an amazing idea and not only for the the people that that um need protection and just need
like our Contour around them but also to other people like me the some of the reasons I didn't get into real ass trouble after 15 it's because I was trying to do sports during the noon I was I was going to help people during the recess I was trying to stay away from trouble and keeping me occupied with a ball for an hour at noon instead of being in town well you had a big advantage of me not doing a crime and but that's good like as a as a kid you're maybe not a criminal but let's say your frien
ds around you create criminals because they're like oh I dare you to and that that's the biggest thing you could tell a dude and he's gonna like okay I'll do what you dare me so so yeah I think that would just help people get on track and I remember also there's sometimes like there was some guys that so scared the living [ __ ] out of me that uh like I wouldn't even get out the class during that recess I was just chill with that teacher in History Class keep asking questions and already had bro
ught my my my my books from that class to the other in that class so when I left that class was at the bell of the other and while people were coming in his class I was telling him buy to go to the other to my other class to protect myself because literally there's no in our school we were I think like 900 or, 100 there was one one guard per floor so that means like one guard for about 4500 uh 450 people isn't that crazy like nobody could have that protection nobody could like there would and it
it's a jungle it's so dangerous and people uh like you were running away almost to have peace because that's the only moment we get a break during the day is that recess and lunch and if even those times that kid doesn't feel safe that is unacceptable every per every person on Earth should feel safe especially when you're going to work or trying to get an education for your own future uh your safety should not be an issue during those normal relaxed times well well what sucks about the the the
cell phones now is people don't give a [ __ ] about the real interaction right like we're having right now a conversation people are are like if you're not in in this well you're not in my life at all so um I I find that that's crapped everything there there's some kids I see walking around five years old outside there with a cell phone in their hands and I'm like man that that that is crazy like when I was a kid the worst punishment you could tell me oh you're not going outside all day no Mom p
lease I want to go outside like that was the worst thing you could tell me because I couldn't live I couldn't do no bikes I couldn't go in town I couldn't play any sports I was in a prison and now if you tell that to your kid is like thank you that was that's my day because the you're giving him vacation just chilling on screens no exactly mom you told us there was internet here oh me I find a big problem is they all talk about like most people are not in shape today it's like 60% of America is
uh overweight and that's crazy it's because of the the social media just being chilling oh everybody you can eat what the [ __ ] you want and then the the fast food industry just pushing their [ __ ] and we just go and keep eating it and then we all know this and we all know the sugars the fat and all that but at school instead of like putting four gym classes in the nine days cycle they put two they put two and let's say you really want those four well you're gonna have to pay a whole lot of bi
g price and it's called SP and then you're going in sports and education and now you get four what and you're paying the big ass price my mom couldn't even afford spood for me so I had to accept that uh uh that that that I was I was going to say lower class but just the normal education I couldn't go get the extra sports like it was just way too expensive so probably it was a good number of difference and I find they should let that accessible to anybody we're not telling you to give the kid lik
e the whole suit to go play hockey the kid needs to have that in advance that's just the sign up that's like hundreds and thousands of dollars it's it should put it more accessible to more people and the other thing sexual education that's another class like economics I could not wait like we're going to learn about sex you're G to tell me everything you're going to tell me how it works the whole thing like the questions that you didn't dare to ask nobody and and you go in there and uh the basis
is that's a dude that's a girl that's the body of her that's the body of him and you don't want kids well put a condom you want kids you don't need a condom and that's it oh bar I'm telling you barely um I'm telling you if if we would put a percentage on that there I'm telling you a 4 % of the whole because we only have that a year on that I lived I think it's in SEC four they give us that they give us that and only 4% of the whole conversation the whole year was about the virus and the um sexu
al transmitted disease spe [Music] the for me and high school what I I realized was very sad that I was fortunate to have is uh since uh I had uh trouble uh reading when I was younger in elementary school because oflex well in high school uh since the they saw I was different they thought I was T Ash but uh I was OCD but uh they would let let me go talk to this guy whenever the [ __ ] I wanted okay so I I I was allowed I had this jail out a free card of an hour whenever I wanted during the week
I would just go there and talk with the guy for an hour and for me that felt great and sometimes I was just using it as [ __ ] this course I'm going to to hear uh but after like five six meetings I was like man there's a lot of kids there that would really uh be beneficial for for them to have this but since we're 900 something and there's only one dude that's doing this like he could not do that so they don't it's not fair for everybody right everybody's different and there are some people that
need more support and than others in C certain spots and uh um I was fortunate to have that but I know a lot of people would have really helped them to have that H so I don't know if it's adding more uh teachers or less time so more people can have that that time with a an expert because it was so that was really helpful for me when I was a kid look for I think there's not enough resource and the reason I'm going to say it that way is because the US the the classes we're talking about five to 1
5 times as big no matter what class you had well we're talk about five to 15 times bigger uh so it creates a more diverse class but uh there's way less individuality uh between the teacher and the students because he's the the GU educating 110 students one shot instead of like 20 or 30 so he so that's why I realized between Canada and us there's so many people there that they they they do it in masses and it still works in a way so I would think that just more resources could help [Laughter] for
go [Laughter] what are classes that you would imagine that would be good for for for people that don't exist okay mus for [Music] for absolutely like it seems like the teachers were it's loading that they were thinking more about individuality since everybody's like like different I remember my history teacher was like that too like people that would never talk well he would point at them you you got a question for us today oh no no uh I was just yeah because that person's calm but he's like no
no ask anything like it's your everybody's gonna talk everybody has their time to talk nobody judge nobody and like that there it was just so nice that everybody there's some people that I never heard talk in no courses and bang that history teacher made everybody feel that they were a part of that that class and I'm never GNA forget that that made the class more interesting for most people and You by treating people more as individuals instead of Pawns in your in your system well a better ambi
ent that's for sure for [Music] for Med uh but like I said before about economics there we should have a class that just focused on finance like tell us how to pay our bills tell tell us how how much money we got to save to to to keep for vacation and stuff like that getting ready for a child how much money we got to save up like everything that has to do with normal payments the payments of a a normal car the payments of a house how how to how to uh gauge interest all this there the stock marke
t everything should be explained to the highest degree in one class but they don't do it still today most adults don't know what the [ __ ] the stock market is or how it works most people don't know that [ __ ] and isn't that [ __ ] up because that's a way to get rich but they they don't just tell you that so you literally need to go to college and pay for a course to start learning that stuff they they won't tell you and that's the basis of life like can I know how to can I can I know how to pa
y my the car the year I just bought without having stress and that I think would be very useful because most of my friends when we got out of high school we were like a deer in the headlights don't know where to go don't know where to start and when I was a kid uh my dad I I helped him in construction when I was like 18 and at the end of the year I owed 2,000 bucks and I was like why am I owing he's like well when you make this much money you owe instead of getting and receiving I'm like what th
e hell and this is when I learn it when I got a bill of 2,000 bucks man I was so yes because I would have saved up the whole time but uh life they they don't teach you [ __ ] like that that is so simple so simple but in economics they're just going to pass through over that and everything so I find that is a big problem and a course that could help people [Laughter] the big problem too is like what's the hardest job in the world raising a child at the end of everything the basis of of creating a
new life and for that kid not to be a criminal and in school they don't teach us [ __ ] about that and like I said about sexual education it's like vague as [ __ ] they don't tell you the responsibilities you're going to have when you have a child they should amplify that to the highest degree there's a lot of dudes and girls that would have not had sex or would have protected themselves to the highest degree knowing the repercussions of having a child in this life there most people just scroll
through life without realizing that it's a big change and then bang they're pregnant and they're like oh and they don't know where to go how to go get resources and literally teaching people how to raise a child or at least the basis would be great because uh a lot of people I know are just sending their kids to dayc care and even if they're not working five days a week so they're just letting life teach teach their their own child and then when the child's like five they're like oh yeah my kid
probably has a mental problem because he can't formate phrases you never talk to the kid talk to the kid talk to the [ __ ] kid go dig holes outside right now may we I just saw that what the hell damn it what the hell I don't have that [ __ ] that is awesome oh my [Laughter] [Laughter] God and it's like if we would have a course that would amplify like critical thinking like that would help people like we're giving you a problem how would you figure it out like not not having an advanced the th
e answer no let the kid figure out how he's going to lift the car how to get the tire off or or cook or anything like that like pushing that would help because a lot of people don't know how to fix their fridge they don't know how to clean clothes uh properly it it the basis of life changing a a tire changing your oil and the Home Maintenance like most people don't know that kind of stuff so we're obligated to call the guy and the guy is always 50 to 100 50 bucks an hour it's crazy because just
teaching the basis of just maintaining your life could help you save a lot of money and not get screwed at at the at the garage when you're going there they're like oh yeah your car has 15 problems when actually only has one but he just convinced you and since you don't know the maintenance of Life of your car where you're gonna get like screwed quite [Music] well for [Laughter] people are insulting nowadays it's like uh a couple years ago we're chilling outside and I see the mother doesn't see
her child going close to the road so I just tell the the little kid hey Eric get closer like you're you're stressing me out you're a bit too close to the road and he's coming back with a smile I'll chill because I said it relax like this and I saw that she was looking at me like like who the [ __ ] you think you are I was like in my head oh boy isn't this incredible I just tell her kid and she was I I felt it she didn't say [ __ ] but but I knew that that bothered her and I was like man yeah isn
't that crazy we're living a world now that I'm not even disciplining the kid I'm just uh being aware of the safety of the kid and that was a problem I like God damn what kind of a crime could happen so I would be allowed to just tell the kid get out the road [Laughter] well thanks everybody and uh now we're gonna start uh planning our podcast more with research and trying to focus on uh one uh or two uh subjects and like dive into it so later let's say in a year from now let's say you guys um a
re talking about like education or something like that we're gonna throw you back on this podcast out of nowhere because we focused it only on that so I think that is going to be a better for you guys so we give more value H episode because you guys are probably not here just to listen to our T la la la la so uh we want to give value to you guys we do we we don't just want views and just people here we want to try to help and give value to others that's the main goal I think we want and uh yeah
new formula improved or yet bye guys I can't do [Music] it [Laughter] thank you for taking the time to watch the whole show and take minutes out of your day to come and listen to us it's a pleasure and an honor and we'll see you next [Music] week YouTube [Music] Rumble
