all right everybody I do want to get you back to this breaking news that we have been following over the last 30 minutes or so this is a tweet coming in from Lucas Tomlinson with Fox News courtesy the Associated Press he does say the Pentagon says an American warship and multiple commercial vessels have come under attack in the Red Sea a lot left to figure out but the information that we have again is coming in from the Pentagon in a very brief statement this does potentially Mark a major escala
tion in a series of Maritime attacks in the Middle East linked to the Israel Hamas war that statement does read quote we're aware of reports regarding attacks on the USS Carney and Commercial vessels in the Red Sea and will provide information as it does become available we do have these images here that are fairly generic but show the USS Carney that we are talking about so you can get a better look uh from some of these images the British military earlier said there had been a suspected drone
attack and explosions in the Red Sea but did not elaborate the Pentagon did not identify where it believed the fire came from however Yemen's iran-backed houthi Rebels have been launching a series of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea as well as launching drones and missiles targeting Israel as it does wage war against tamas in the Gaza Strip a Us official speaking on the condition of remaining Anonymous told the Associated Press that the attack began around 10:00 a.m. local time there in Yemen a
nd had gone on for as much as 5 hours another Us official who also did not want to speak without remaining Anonymous for the same reason said the Carney had intercepted at least one drone during the attack there was no immediate comment from the houthis however a houthi military spokesperson earlier said quote an important statement would be released shortly global Shipping had increasingly been targeted as the Israel Hamas War does threaten to become a wider regional conflict even as a truce br
iefly stopped fighting and Hamas exchanged hostages for those Palestinian prisoners that were held by Israel however the collapse of that truce and the resumption of punishing illegal uh excuse me punishing Israeli air strikes and its ground offensive there have raised the risk of the Seaborn attacks resuming earlier in November the houthis did seize a vehicle transport ship that was also linked to Israel in the the Red Sea off of Yemen the rebels still hold the vessel near their Port City missi
les also landing near another us warship last week after it assisted a vessel linked to Israel that had briefly been seized by gunmen however the houthis had not directly targeted the Americans for some time further raising the stakes in the growing Maritime conflict in 2016 the US did launch Tomahawk cruise missiles that destroyed three coastal radar sites in houi controlled territory to retaliate for missiles being fired at US Navy ships at the time again this is the Tweet coming in from Lucas
Tomlinson with Fox News saying that the Pentagon says an American warship and multiple commercial vessels have come under attack in the Red Sea if there is any lengthier statement or even a news conference held by the Pentagon or even President Biden we will bring that to you right here live raw and unfiltered on live now from Fox

It’s starting to look like it’s a matter of time that the world powers are drawn into this conflict…

@tao196580241

We have been attacked over 70 times so far. This administration is so weak it is embarrassing.

@edwards7877

I'd be surprised if The Pentagon even knows where the USS Carney is!

@ulrikezachmann7596

All going as expected of course. What did anyone expect?

it is stupid to stay in the middle of a war zone and at the same time dream of peace waiting for the next attack from the enemy….

@Ever443

But Iran is not involved, just ask them. 😂😂

Biden to Iran.... "You fellas better cut that out now, folks over here are getting upset and you know we have elections to worry about"!

It has been reported that the ship came under attack from dead-names and incorrect pronouns.

When we put ourselves in the line of fire, We cannot expect that the enemies will not fire.

@caucasianbulldog6057

We condemn one hostile act as immoral whilst another hostile act is seen as justified. No immoral act is moral. The problem is that we have lost our objective moral sense. Morality today is no more than politics.

@itslaterthanuno

Why did the US send a warship there in the first place?

@black4pienus

The Dutch media tells the story like this: "US captures Israeli ship that was taken over by Iranians! (this was also the title) Two missiles were fired at the American warship, but they landed in the water kilometers away from the ship. Iranian government denies knowledge of this." Quite a difference between 'US warship under attack in Red Sea' and 'US captures Israeli ship that was taken over by Iranians'. lol
