Brigands of Grandscar is a fantasy Wild West strategy board game for 2-5 players. Act as the representative of a dwarven clan trying to earn the most victory points by settling an uncharted region in the wake of an industrial revolution. Recruit crew members to perform actions across the map in a hybrid action point and worker placement system. On your turn, use command tokens to select actions on your player board, then spend vitality on your 8-sided die worker to perform the action in that worker's location on the map.
There are monsters to hunt, bounties to duel and bring to justice, inventions to improve your available actions and a theory track to focus and excel at your strategy. Unique doctrine cards you get at the start of the game grant you a special ability when you activate them by advancing their prerequisite theories. Buildings can provide better recovery for your crew member’s vitality points, a steady supply of resources, special labor actions to earn gold, or commerce actions to gain weapons, inventions or theories. Other players can always use your buildings for the cost that you set, so strategize if you want to chase a monopoly or undercut your opponents. Make sure to send a crew member to collect the revenue as it piles up before someone else thinks the risks of being a wanted criminal are worth it to steal. If they get away with your profit you can always get revenge with a quickdraw rock-paper-scissors style duel.
Brigands of Grandscar offers many paths to victory with robust engine building and high degrees of both cooperative and confrontational player interaction.
