y well in the finals game and after that game he simply vanished from the scene and nobody was able to find him anywhere present day a team is seen practicing on the basketball court a man named Dax was seen encouraging his players to play well to win Rucker classic dax's team consisted of good players but but all depended on Casper Casper was the key player in their team it seemed that there was no win without Casper so Dax always tries to make Casper Happy Casper takes advantage of this fact h
e is very rude selfish and proud one day dax's childhood enemy Muki enters the court where they all were practicing Muki tries to demotivate Dax by showing him the tattoo on his chest which says that he is won the Rucker classic for 7 years from 2009 to 2017 Muki has come intending to enourage DX so that he won't be able to train his boys well and eventually his team loses Muki says that Casper is a good player so he will choose the better team definitely Muki gets nervous because he knows that
if a player wants to change his team nobody can stop him Dax becomes nervous so he thinks of talking to Casper and making sure that Casper won't leave so in the next scene Dax is seen talking to Casper Dax asks him if he needs anything Dax Works in a shoe store Casper knows this so he asks Dax to get him a new pair of expensive shoes Dax tries to turn this conversation into something else as it is impossible for him to purchase such expensive shoes for Casper because Dax is poor and has no money
Dax is seen sleeping in his bed he dreams about his childhood he sees how nobody chose him when he was in an adoption center he was always left alone in the end so this childhood trauma has left a major impact on his mind he feels alone so to overcome this feeling he starts playing basketball he gets get better and better at it in middle school he won every match but in one match Muki blocks dax's throw after that loss everyone gets sad and frustrated Dax loses everyone's support again he devel
ops an inferiority complex in that he has lost everyone's support and love just because of one defeat and he will never be able to get such respect ever again in life he was so traumatized by that defeat that it used to haunt him till now since Dax has no place to live he is living with his girlfriend Jess Jess is very hopeful that one day Dax is going to be a rich and successful man but for now Jess is supporting all his expenses the next day Casper visits Dax with his four friends at the shoe
place where he works Dax buys shoes for all of them but dax's ATM card declines so Jess gives him her card Dax is unaware of the fact that even after getting such expensive gifts from him Casper is going to betray him the next day Dax goes to the court in a happy mood he has a jersey in his hand which will be the team's New Jersey he was surprised to see that Casper along with the other team members was betraying Dax and joining mook's team Dax was heartbroken and he was infuriated by this act h
e asks them to return the shoes but everyone refuses to do so the next day a video gets viral in which Dax is seen forcefully trying to get the shoes from the player's feet after the video gets viral Jess breaks up with him because of the embarrassment she gets really upset about dax's overreaction she asks him to leave house dax's life was so bad that he literally took his stuff in a black polythene bag and left Jess's house although dax's life was so destroyed he never left hope and believed i
n himself he gets out of Jess's house and tries to find a solution to his problem after that Dax goes to a basketball court in New York he reaches out to the good players and requests them to join his team but nobody listens to him nobody was willing to join his team he goes to the next court where he sees an old man commenting on the bad performance of the player he starts observing the situation the players overhear the old man's comment and challenge him to have a match with them at first nob
ody thinks that this old man is going to defeat the youngsters but everyone was shocked to see when the old man hit the basket many times the younger players were very shocked and ashamed of themselves he then tells the youngsters what they were doing wrong while playing he teaches them how the real game is played Dax was shocked to see his performance but soon he realizes that the old man is not anybody else but famous basketball player Uncle Drew Dax thought it was a good idea to take such a l
egendary player into his team without wasting time Dax reached out to the old man and offered him to join his team the man refuses to join his team but Dax keeps on insisting Dax requests him again and again so the old man agrees on one condition he says that if Dax succeeded in gathering all his old team members back then he would be ready to play for him but if the team members refuse to play then he will not play for Dax and will get rid of his team basically the old man wants his old team so
that he can win the match and the optimistic nature of Dax as he agrees to the condition in the next scene both of them are seen traveling in a van to collect Uncle Drew's team this van belongs to Uncle Drew they travel in it while listening to jazz music both of them are seen vibing to the music the next morning they stop near a church here they have come to talk to preacher who has abandoned his basketball career and has become a real preacher when they enter the church they see that preacher
is baptizing a baby infant but he is holding a baby the way he used to hold the basketball Uncle Drew says to him that he should join him back in the basketball game he finally succeeds in talking him into getting back to basketball but preacher's wife Betty asks him not to play both the husband and wife get into a heated argument when Dax and Uncle Drew are about to leave preacher runs to them and gets into the van what are you do Hallelujah man can only take Betty follows them in her car she
was just about to catch them when Uncle jumps the red light and they got away Betty stands on the road carrying a baseball bat in the next scene they stop at a gas station for fresh air Dax asks preacher why they have stopped playing since 1968 but both of the older persons do not answer preacher asks Uncle Drew about their old team member who was known as big fella Uncle Drew was optimistic that one basketball would resolve all their issues we can see that Uncle Drew was a good man and all he w
anted was to get back his friends by sorting out all their past issues after that they went to the arcade where lights their other team member was playing e basketball but he was not able to hit the basket because of his weak eyesight Dax sees him and says that if they take him in the team they will hardly be able to win any match but Uncle Drew was convinced upon taking lights with them so Dax has no other choice but to agree to it lights were already ready to go with them after that they got t
o gather the next team member the next team member was booted the scene shifts toward a room where a man is sitting in a wheelchair this man is boots and he is suffering from catatonic schizophrenia it has been years since boots was in a wheelchair and was not able to move it saddened all of them that their friend was suffering from such a serious disease Dax was unable to believe that Uncle Drew wanted boots to join the team although he was not able to walk he was living alone and his granddaug
hter used to take care of him all the time boot's granddaughter Maya accompanied them because she wanted to make sure that boot was all right after that they go to find another team member who is called big fella big fella was a very big and strong guy but unfortunately he was teaching karate classes to children when they went to him he was teaching a class of small kids when Uncle Drew comes close to big fella he punches him hard in the face he said he did not want to play any game for Uncle Dr
ew it was very hard to convince him and it seemed like things would never be resolved between them but for other team members big fella agrees to join the team finally the whole team has been gathered they all share a brief sentimental moment because they have not seen each other for years after this reunion they were all set for Harlem where they were going to practice at the same time they see preacher's wife following them but they again become successful in dodging her but it is not the last
time the woman follows them after that they stop at a gas station Dax goes to buy something but his card is declined in the store again he sees a group of girls playing basketball a plan appears in his mind he goes to the girls and talks them into a 100 doll bet the match starts but the old boys are seen playing very pathetically in the first half after seeing the situation Dax still believed in his team he tries to motivate them in the break Dax tells everybody about the BET and says that they
have to play better but the boys lost the game they all contribute to pay for the bet money after reaching Harlem they all go to the basketball court where they all used to play games Nostalgia hits them Uncle Drew brings gifts for all of them in order to be helpful he brings glasses for lights for boots he brings canvas made shoes boots put his feet into the shoes and finally he was able to walk for preacher he brings a cross necklace last but not least Uncle Drew gifts the trophy of their fir
st one match to big fella but big fella crushes the trophy under his feet we can see that big fella has not forgiven him yet and it seemed that it would be tough for him to forgive Uncle Drew in the next scene Dax goes to Jess's house where he sees Jess with Muki after see seeing both of them together he goes back to the match he wants Jess and Muki to feel ashamed of their actions the match starts and dax's team was playing very well in the beginning but soon they lost the match because of all
of the clashes between Uncle Drew and big fella the clashes were so intense that none of them was able to work in coordination and in the end they lost the match it became clear to Uncle Drew that they would not win without solving past issues after the match ends big fella and Uncle Drew go to a cemetery where Big Fella's wife wife is buried they discuss the old unresolved matters big fella says that Uncle Drew knew that he loved Jennifer but still he did such a horrible thing to her he did not
think of their friendship for once he complains to Uncle Drew that you have not apologized for it upon hearing this Uncle Drew said that he was in love with Jennifer furthermore he tried to clarify that night was just a mistake and he has never thought of betraying his friend Uncle Drew apologizes to big fella big fella forgives him with a big heart we see that friendship wins over fights the next day they won all the games they were playing they had the best coordination and it seemed like the
ir old team was reborn again everyone seemed happy and cheerful at night they go to a bar to celebrate their victories all of them enjoyed themselves when the youngsters spotted them and tried to humiliate them in order to prove they are still full of Youth and energy they all start dancing after some time Dax and boot's granddaughter Maya are about to kiss when Dax backs out at the last moment on seeing this scene all of the boys start cheering and they say that sometimes it is better to take r
isks but Dax gets away with it their team kept winning all the matches and finally they reach the semi-finals if they win the semi-finals they will be playing against mook's team in the finals the match starts but big fella goes through a heart attack during the match he is hospitalized and is on complete bed rest they all were in the hospital when preacher's wife found them they all are astonished to see that instead of sabotaging their game she is has come to play they all went to the basketba
ll court to play against muk's team on the day of the finals everybody seems tensed and serious on the match grounds dax's team was motivated to win this match as well and snatched the trophy from muk's Team Casper makes fun of Uncle Drew but this motivates Uncle Drew Uncle Drew becomes more focused on making Casper lose and break his ego in the beginning muki's team seems to be playing really well but in the next moment dax's team fights back and hits many baskets light and Casper collide with
each other and lights knee gets injured Dax starts freaking out after seeing that lights will not be able to play he is still thinking about the next strategy when Uncle Drew asks Dax to play Dax does not want to play because he thinks the team will lose again if he has to play but any other solution was not available hence Dax has to play this was a do and die situation for him the match becomes tenser when Maya and Jess start arguing about something the match starts and Muki hits the basket wi
th within a few seconds they continue to play hitting baskets the match takes an exciting turn in the last 8 seconds when the ball is in dax's hand Muki was trying to block his way but at this instant Dax goes through a flashback his childhood trauma comes back to haunts him once again luckily the time runs out all the Dax boys try to support and encourage him during break time Dax starts the game with motivation and finally he hits the basket with a winning shot it was unbelievable for Dax to t
hink that he had defeated Muki and won the Rucker Classic Tournament all of his traumas are gone he feels much strong and more powerful dax's team seemed very happy at this win and they all started shouting and cheering Muki talks to Dax with some respect this time he was very humbled and showed a sportsman Spirit grabbing the chance Dax kisses Maya and then they all go to the hospital to see big fella Dax pays Big Fella's hospital bills from the prize money suddenly a news flash appears on tele
