The downtown Greektown experience
that you grew up with, Right in Novi, Michigan. I'm a first generation Greek American. My parents came over here, they were in the restaurant business. My father was a chef. My family started the restaurant,
the Parthenon in Greektown, my father in law, Tommy. We were always there, grew up being the
little hostess behind the hostess stand in Greektown. We opened up here,
me and my wife, in 2012 we wanted to continue what he was doing. We’re an authentic Greek s
tyle restaurant, but we also have a lot of American items
like fish and chicken and pasta. Lamb chops that are trimmed and cut in-house. We serve a grilled octopus tail
with olive oil and lemon. And a lot of these dishes have been family recipes
from many years ago. So you have an opportunity
to get a delicious meal, a beautiful cocktail, I hear
all the time from people, it makes me so happy that, they don't have
to go all the way down to Detroit to get that good, authentic
Greek meal and that
Greek experience. We have a second level, which is 200 seats. So we try to do a lot of different events. We do bring a lot of talent
in from across the country, certain times of the year
we try to keep it local. You can go to the show, you can, have some cocktails,
have appetizers and desserts. I think that just kind of
makes it a whole night out. We would love to have you guys here
and treat you like you're walking into your venue
and customized to whatever you like. People have had bands
that
they want to bring in down there to birthday parties, wedding showers, baby
showers, all kinds of things. We do a lot of catering venues as well. Customized cook on site,
bring our own chafing dishes, servers, we do it all. It's like being over at, your aunt or
your uncle's house to eat, a lot of the time. It's a family atmosphere
and our employees are our families. I think we have a great team. Me
and my wife work well together. These two are such a power couple. They work together so incredibl
y well. The positivity that they bring being here
seven days a week, My weakness is his strength. His weakness is my strength. They're not just sitting in the back, hoping that they're able to collect the money. Hands-on, with the chefs,
the cooks. They’re smiling and they're keeping you going,
keeping us motivated. It's unbelievable. Detroit, Livonia, West Bloomfield, They come from all over. We're kind of a destination location
at this spot. You not only walk into a business,
you walk into our
home, you start hearing about Little League
scores and recitals at school and all that kind of stuff. So now you also have
this personal investment. It’s a true blessing to be here
and share our stories with everyone here. A server tells me, “Hey, we found out
this table, it's their first time.” We go over, we introduce ourselves,
we walk them through the menu, They're here and they leave
and they go tell all the people that they had a good experience
eating and enjoying our atmosphere.
