It provides a path to Indian citizenship for religious minorities from three neighboring countries - Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan - namely Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians, who arrived in India before December 31, 2014, due to persecution on grounds of religion. Critics argue that the Act is discriminatory because it excludes Muslims and undermines the secular principles of India's constitution. The CAA has sparked widespread protests and debates across the country since its introduction. CAA: India is implementing a controversial citizenship rule granting amnesty to non-Muslim illegal immigrants from neighboring countries, three years after protests erupted. The law provides citizenship to religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Narendra Modi's administration offers asylum to abuse victims, but critics allege bias against Muslims. The 2019 law, delayed due to protests, led to multiple deaths and arrests. The government has not set a date yet, but the announcement comes before the upcoming general elections, where Mr. Modi's BJP is aiming for a third term. India passes Tax Citzenship Revision Bill, which rejects Muslims in travelers. The Taxi altered the 64-year-old Indian Citizenship rule, which prohibits illegal travelers from becoming Indian residents. It categorized illegal migrants as foreigners who enter India without valid identification or travel documents or exceed their permitted stay. Illegal workers can face extradition or imprisonment, except for those from Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian backgrounds, who can be exempted if they prove their origin from Pakistan, Afghanistan, or Bangladesh. To be an Indian citizen, one must reside/work in India for an extended time. OCI cardholders can lose their status if they break local rules. Critics question the law for excluding and violating constitutional standards by requiring faith for citizenship. Constitution prohibits victimization and guarantees equality and protection under the law for all residents. Delhi lawyer Gautam Bhatia claims that categorizing alleged travelers as Muslims and non-Muslims in the law violates our secular principles. Historian Mukul Kesavan believes the law's main objective is to discredit the citizenship of Muslims. Critics say the bill should have protected persecuted Muslim minority groups like Ahmadis in Pakistan and Rohingyas in Myanmar. Government seeks to extradite Rohingya from India. BJP leader Smash Madhav backs the bill, stating that no country allows illegal migration. Indian citizenship rules apply to complaint subjects, while others can opt for naturalized citizenship by providing valid proof of Indian citizenship. As per R Jagannathan, publisher of Swarajya magazine, any remaining illegal immigrants will be infiltrators. He justified the exclusion of Muslims from the bill by citing the Islamist nature of the three countries involved either through their constitutions or the actions of aggressive Islamist groups targeting minorities. The bill's historical background includes its introduction in July 2016, passage in the lower house, but failure to be approved in the upper house due to protests in north-eastern India. Fights escalated in Assam state after 2 million occupants were removed from a residents' register in August due to illegal migration concerns from Bangladesh. The Taxi and the register are connected but not identical. The Public Register of Residents (NRC) is a list of individuals who can provide evidence of arrival in the state prior to March 24, 1971, one day prior to Bangladesh's independence. The BJP initially supported the NRC but later claimed it was filled with errors, as Bengali Hindus, a significant voter base for the party, were also excluded and at risk of illegal immigration. How is the residents' register linked to the bill? They are connected as the Citizenship Alteration Bill aims to protect non-Muslims from extradition or detainment. This benefits Bengali Hindu travelers not included in the NRC, allowing them to obtain Assam state citizenship. Home Pastor Amit Shah proposed a nationwide register of residents to identify and expel infiltrators from India by 2024. Rejected individuals will be categorized as either predominantly Muslims (labeled as illegal immigrants) or as all others (considered illegal migrants). Shorten this text.

The Counter Thought

Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India and who holds the number two position in the Modi government, shows less smartness and more deviousness in the way he talks about the CAA law. He can easily and cleverly say it in one line. It is said that this law is for giving citizenship to the people and not for taking away their citizenship, but what are they hiding behind these lines. Let's have a look. Amit Shah says that this law is for the minorities who are persecuted on the basis of religion. It i
s meant to give citizenship to those minorities who have been religiously persecuted and come to India to seek refuge. Okay, very good, no problem, but they do not tell that Muslims have been kept out of these minorities. They do not even tell that this law has been made only for the minority people coming to India from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh. They also do not tell that this law is only for those people who had come to India before 31 December 2014 and the Modi government. Or Amit Sha
h, please tell what he will do with those who have come to India after 31 December 2014. Amit Shah does not even tell this. Modi government does not even tell why this law of theirs goes against Article 14 of the Constitution of India. Because Article 14 says that in the eyes of the law, there will be no difference on the basis of race, religion, caste and place of birth, there will be no discrimination, but this law which Amit Shah has brought is straight forward. It says that if you are a Musl
im then we will not give you asylum in India and if you are anything other than a Muslim then we will give you asylum, then there is discrimination on the basis of religion which goes against Article 14, then the Modi government has a habit of doing unconstitutional work. As you have seen in the ongoing Electoral Bunds case, they have done the same unconstitutional work here too and they do not even tell on what basis they decided that only those people who are from these three countries will be
given asylum in India. Coming to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, are there no minority people in Sri Lanka, are there not such countries where only Muslims are minority, your heart does not ache for them, it aches only for those who are not Muslims, why does Modi government hate Muslims? Tell me, the court should also do something in this matter. The predictions that people have filed before it should be settled immediately because you see, Modi government is trying to throw out some people
by taking all these things like NRC, CAA etc. Whereas apart from those few people, efforts are being made to include others in. Anyway, you can only share what you have, be it money, love or
