welcome to the acclaimed podcast the  Deep dive featuring your esteemed hosts Andy monitor Andrew dinzik powered by bets first welcome to the Deep dive Alban come on Andy that  was the one that's the best grocery store wine going right now in the peanut section um you don't  really have grocery store booze here oh really Scott that's big in Wisconsin but yeah here like  every grocery store has like a liquor store that's affiliated with it right next to it they don't  have like the you know the t
he Isle of wine at the grocery store they have it in a separate  building right next to it which is just like widely available uh there's like a uh I  was I would shoot for the Santa Barbara County and not the Oregon uh version if  they have both air on the side of Santa Barbara in general any Santa Barbara Pino  is going to be really good this time of year um as we transition from clear liquor season  into the fall as we are winding down with our previews I'm so stocked on the the brown stuff
too oh buddy maybe that's our call out as we hit these the last of the previews we hit the  West Coast here maybe that's our call out to the listeners is uh if you guys have any really  good mixed drinks you like to make with bourbon Rye even Irish anything anything yeah yeah hit  us up because it's basically yeah I'll make some volvadiers I'll make some smashes I don't really  care for a tulip I'll see there it's played out if I'm gonna make a Julep I'd rather just have a  smash with more lemon
in it and it's yeah and I I make an Old Fashioned those two and that's about  it otherwise it's just I make this recipe called I put an ice cube in it and drink it if you have  any recipes you like Michael Douglas yeah you're like Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct you're just  like give me the double Blackjack on the rocks uh that's all I need that's all you need but uh you  know we are gonna this is gonna be a depressing episode this is like I looked at this and I I  caught myself doing the ok
ay do you know how there's The Wilhelm scream uh yeah of course this  is the this is the DeSantis smile like I did the I can't even do it I don't think people can do it  it's such an uncomfortable Meme and I've watched the video a trillion times but yeah this is a a  deeply depressing Duo of teams to talk about it's wild because two years ago the Cardinals were  a team in the players and they did I think they actually lost to the Rams in that it was uh the  first ever Monday night football playo
ff game oh yeah yeah yeah and we had yeah that Cardinals won  like 11 games that year they were good uh you know there were some there's some things they needed  to clean up and I guess we could have seen some of the writing on the wall and a lot of people did  is they went out of their way I feel like there's some people that really were climbing over each  other to fade on the Cardinals heading into last season that's went swimmingly a lot of injuries  helped that along but the off season like
once I start diving into these and again I always say  this but it's like man how much [ __ ] I forgot that happened to this team this was a really  weird off season between everything because like I just you know I start writing what I  remember and I wrote Kyler Kyler and kaim let go what kind actually took some leave of absence  and then just yeah it was like hey hey I'm I'm I'm not Kyler excuse me cliff and kind let  go Kyler was Kyler's uh ligaments let go of his poets that's right but yea
h it started  with that that super long uh you know like iPhone Notes diet thing from Kyler's agent  when he wasn't getting his his deal and then we had the deal and then Twitter had  a Heyday with the homework Clause forever and I mean that was a lot more and then  d-hop suspended going into the seasons or the drugs you had a player that was uh you lost  a player player lost his life gladney was killed I think it was a car accident uh you wouldn't  acquired Marquis Brown which was a didn't I me
an it was like Hey if he didn't have the dropsies  he's pretty good he finds himself wide open he might be a deep thread it's work they get you  know it was Camp before they got the deal done and obviously it kind of was downhill but my  biggest note my biggest thing that I really really forgot was they were still sitting at three  and four with Hopkins back they weren't dead this wasn't a team that was like oh that you know just  just do away off the bat like it did take some injuries and some
some kind of attrition on the  defensive side of the ball to really put the kind of uh I don't know the last few stitches on the  you're fired cross stitch for uh Cliff Kingsbury but everything I've read everything I kind of took  in regarding his offense over the past few years was just like hey really really unique and then  nothing changed for like three years and he was really there should be a word for this I guess  it is predictable is the word for it but I mean other coaches basically sai
d he got solved like  oh he used all these crazy formations but then he's still in the end it's like he still did the  same things over and over it doesn't matter how you line them up if you're always doing the same  thing with the same players like your offense isn't going to be good in the slave because you  become predictable and he was off to Phuket yeah he uh yeah Kingsbury got solved time populated  a roster that hat that was like very unbalanced um they swung away on some draft picks at
some non-premium positions and missed the um the the general Vibe around 2022 Cardinals  was weird I agree there was a lot of people who were out on this team even still they  were 35-1 to win the Super Bowl their win total was eight and a half so they were  expected to be League average uh needless to say they finished 4 and 13 did not make that  win total um all unders cash um and home losses I think they went one and eight at home um it was it was all the little things that  contribute to a B
ad seasons like hey our play calling isn't right hey our defense is turning  into stars and scrubs and all the youth like kind of what the Raiders had for years all this youth  we drafted isn't quite working out I think some of that was coaching fault and trying to to position  this football doesn't work if you don't pick a position eventually here and then I mean even on  special teams they use four different kickers and just all the little things kind of just the the  incremental gains of nega
tivity that can happen to a football team and then the big one obviously  the non-contact injury three quarters the way through the season for your quarterback that's  a true death now and I was blah and McCoy and Trace McSorley even I think all three of those  played throughout the last five six seven games and yeah obviously that's not going to get it done  the offensive line missed a bunch of time here and there that didn't help anything and uh if you  remember back to a really good point tha
t I hadn't put in any of my team notes and it popped up again  this week uh you brought up for the commanders as far as the hey remember when they took that survey  and everyone oh yeah yeah hey this is the worst place to be guess who finished second he sent it  to the commanders and it was it was the Arizona Cardinals football Outsiders had several mentions  of that making light of JJ Watt having to pay for Fountain drinks or whatever yeah um JJ Watt is uh  no longer on the squad um okay so a c
ouple other thoughts on 2022 uh Lost season uh in every sense  of the word although clean you know I guess credit to them because they gave kind money pre-season  they gave Kingsbury money preseason they gave Murray money preseason 2027. yes congrats to them  for being like well our bad you're gone uh did not necessarily think that was coming but it was the  right call um they ended up only being favored in three games over the balance of the Season  despite the you know the expectation of being
around 500 they were favored week six against  the uh at the Seahawks favored week seven home versus New Orleans their only home win by the way  um and then favored week nine uh hosting Seahawks um every other game of the season they were dogs  uh they had a little bit of a tough start to the season with uh you know games against Kansas  City where they were heavily bet against and were not competitive the Rams took them to to  town before the Rams fell apart as a roster Philadelphia uh eeked o
ut a win but they got  a cover um in the desert and uh you know it's it I I didn't really have much action one way or  the other on or against the Cardinals really all season because I thought pricing you know was  kind of like the market was kind of onto them right you know what I mean like there just wasn't  a lot of best to be made against them uh as dogs a bunch of weeks and the only time I really had  a a note in uh why did I do this was I backed them pretty heavily week eight at Minnesota
they  were catching three and three and a half points and I was like Minnesota spring have points  better than an average team okay uh I'll take those three and a half um and uh Minnesota  covered so I was mad at myself and I think I basically was completely out on uh Arizona after  that in fact I went hard on Seattle the next week which uh uh got got that money back but um yeah  after the beating the Rams week 10 it was just LL um a couple of them were should have been wins  week 15 Tampa Bay r
emember that one it's Christmas Day Christmas Eve Christmas um yeah you know you  know what uh I don't appreciate Goodell um don't give me a standalone Christmas Day game between  Tampa Bay and Arizona don't need it didn't need it that was awful I mean preseason it was still like  two pretty good quarterbacks and yeah two playoffs here yeah it didn't age well as far as scheduling  that uh that was a prime time Christmas Day game um I think I ended up watching NBA um because  that was like that w
as that was literally like eye bleeding uh bad football um the uh clean house  were worthwhile um The Hires are interesting and let's go right into off the off season is that  cool yeah the the petsing uh well start start with Ganon I think we gotta start with the GM  Oney oh yeah start with mine a Minnesota product um but cut from some of the cloths of some of  the well-known trees that I think you know you could definitely make a case like hey this guy  has been around some smart people in som
e smart front offices and it makes sense and some people  instantly were you know critical of some moves of his and obviously were positive about the trade  they made during the draft the most trades are gonna have to be a zero-sum game as far as  sentiment goes and if we were that hard on the Texans I suppose we have to be that positive  about what Arizona was able to do with some of their draft Capital but um I think it's going to  be really hard to evaluate Monty Austin for it because he's le
ft with it's not just like bear  cover like hey you have a bear cupboard he has a very very strangely constructed roster he's  in a very weird position where they are in the quarterback cycle and where the skill position  players are around him and then what he's been left with for a defense especially some of  the youth with the defense so I'm not going to second guess anything he does for about two  years I'm going to look at it through a lens of hey it's really hard to tell you know what the
long-term plan is unless they come out and say this is exactly why we did this sure it's going to  be really hard to judge what he does until he gets like 2025. he's been left with a kind of a messy  kitchen huh I will say this uh I thought it was a good hire in the moment I was like cool yes this  is this works and I think you know early results I would say were positive from a roster you know  and just self-evaluation standpoint he's not like let's go get six wins this year and be right in  p
urgatory he's literally like uh let's sell the number three pick for the highest cost and in fact  he looked down the power ranking of franchises from 31 to 32 and said I'm gonna go pick Houston  Texans pocket so congratulations for it um you know realistically uh that sets them up well for  a pretty quick turnaround rebuild uh fascinated to see I mean the really the most interesting  question about the Cardinals is what do they do with Kyla Murray do they get him back on the  field this year is
that does that serve them um are they getting him back on the field to see  what he's got because if there's a super high side they want to keep him or if there's just a little  upside they want to sell them and if there's no upside they want to get the heck out of this  contract um so it's kind of interesting to kind of see how they're treating him uh in the off season  and what his uh you know recovery ends up looking like um I will say this though the other or higher  Jonathan Gannon as your
new head coach um okay I try to not be too you know like cold it's hard  to just take a guy and be like oh he's gonna be a terrible football coach here's uh here's what  I want to do Andy here's what I want to do let's look at that let's look at the let's look at the  rumors in January and February let's look at some of the interviews they did he was the worst choice  of all the guys I talked to and I wonder I mean maybe Vance Joseph was would have been a worse I  I don't know I I don't know I
never love hiring you know a defensive minded head coach to begin  with it really it really it really does and I get you know I don't know like if you you know if you  break up with a girl maybe the next time you find a girlfriend you look for somebody who's the  opposite so I get maybe they didn't want to go strict nasty weird offense because they got burnt  with going a little too far on that Spectrum but I still like I still like an offensive higher if I'm  going head coach especially if you
you know you don't have a well-established OC which we don't  it's you know I I guess what we'll see that's another I think that's a North Turner tree that  you'll see there and then he did bring he brought a nice piece with he brought the linebackers coach  to be his you know his defensive coordinator he could do a lot worse than the linebacking core of  the Philadelphia Eagles for the last couple years so sure I'm gonna put I'm gonna put my trust in  these guys to make some right right decisio
ns on the defensive side of the ball maybe from a scheme  and implementation point of view it's just hard without all the pieces really yeah without elite  players you're in trouble and then it just I think comes down to is this isn't a team that's you know  going to actively tank but it might look that way because of you know what what they have as far as  an offensive game plan going forward especially you know with what they're going to roll out at  quarterback for the first God knows how man
y weeks and you know it's I don't think you can take a  coach who's never had a head coaching job in the league and expect him to not try to win games like  this is you know he might know this might not be my long-term solution but I can't be this you know  the guy who's won and done it head coach I go you know God who was who was our head coach for the  Browns like three hours ago what Freddy Freddy pre-kitchens oh God yeah Hugh Jackson you know  we're just like you have two or three years of j
ust embarrassing yeah where it's like hey this is  just not going to be somebody who gets interviews ever again like you you you have to win games  it's in your best interest you know it's it's just like I was talking about GMS like hey you  should tank but do you you kind of want to buy yourself another year of getting paid one of the  top salaries in the league sure I I feel like also all signs have pointed to me to the calamari comes  in place at some point this year of course I agree probabl
y makes just a bigger mess of this because  you have a new new coaching staff new offense and then you're going to switch horses mid  mid-season again with a guy coming off an injury behind kind of a who knows what offensive line so  it might be one of those where they're gonna try not to tank this is a team that's going to try  to win games but it's just going to be hard to actually achieve that um yeah here are some of the  names that were kicked around by the way for head coaching hires um Mi
ke Kafka uh who would have  been a great hire um they kicked the tires on Sean Payton uh they interviewed Shane steichen demeko  Ryan's uh Jim Harbaugh uh Vance Joseph Dan Quinn um a lot of defensive coordinators a lot of  defensive coordinators which I think goes to your point that they were like ready for  something different in defense I guess but even still like Ben Johnson like they there was a  lot of names kicked around who will ultimately I think be successful at coaches Jonathan Gannon
would surprise me I'll be completely Frank um not saying it's not possible but  it will be a surprise if he is the guy um that said you know Monty Austin Ford so  far like what he's doing in terms of just being just acknowledging what he's got the  um the one kind of interesting wrinkle about Kyla Murray and the the Cardinals that I've  been trying to kind of figure out they made a big deal all right you know honestly for after  trading down from three to twelve which was the best deal he was g
oing to get and probably  the best deal anyone offered by a long shot because they get Texans number one next year  on top of other stuff um after doing that they traded back up to jump the Raiders so that they  could get Paris Johnson uh with the sixth pick I don't know that there was enough to distinguish  who is truly ol1 in this year's draft it certainly didn't seem like there was a consistency between  one two three and four honestly at some points and uh and weirdly like there was a strang
e awesome  fort like Kyla Murray Kumbaya moment around the draft where they went to Oklahoma for his like  Jersey retirement and it was like yo he's you know we're considering his feelings in the draft  he wants Paris Johnson we want Paris like all of that kind of was like okay like I mean you need  a better reason I like if it's just literally like you want to make sure you're solidifying  your offensive line with the guy you think is the most likely Blue Chip okay fair enough but  it shouldn't
be because Kyler Murray wanted it um and I mean in the back of my head I'm like  are they doing that because they just want an offensive lineman and it is Kyler Murray's  preference and that'll get some you know Inspire Murray to like try a little harder on  rehab and to really kind of show up in this off season and and show out when they put him on  the field so that they can get something for him in terms of trade value like that's kind of  my guess but I don't have any any real insight into
what the plan is but I think you nailed  it which is at some point this season we'll see Kylie Murray and it's probably not  going to be till Halloween or thereafter true enough which means this team is going  to take a number of else early in the season because this roster is quite poor yeah um and then  just kind of going into you know the rest of the yeah it sucks how much like we're out on Ganon  already like I feel like we're not giving him a proper chance I just I don't know like I  mean i
t's just hard there's nothing he did as DC in Philadelphia that I was like wow you know  like this guys really putting something special together with a couple pieces that I didn't think  That's Where It's Tricky it too it's like who who is responsible for this we had this it's funny  that we had this exact same conversation about the exact same team like five years ago when when  the band broke up in Philly for the most part and we're like hey was Frank Reich part of this was  uh sure yeah Phil
ip defilippo he went like hung out in Minnesota there was like three or four  guys like who was responsible for that Super Bowl run like and you know you have the same thing  now like was stiking that big of a part of it we'll find out maybe you know he's got such a raw  project it's going to be tough to figure it out um obviously they took two of the coaches  here and went uh between like I said the that was the linebackers coach that they hired  from him and then obviously uh Jonathan Gannon b
ut Drew Drew petsig to the the former former  quarterback coach from the Browns yeah so he's he was with the Browns twice I guess technically  the first which is like an intern thing he got hired in under Zimmer's Squad he was like a wide  receivers coach with Minnesota and I think he just went with stefansky so he was like uh he was a  stefansky guy that went to Cleveland ended up just staying there and then ended up ended up at this  job after I believe he was quarterbacks Coach and he's been
you know just basically every kind of  offensive position besides offensive coordinator at this point so I don't know I guess if you want  to if you want to take some take some things away from like Paul stefansky and them run things  up there but again it's it's hard it's gonna be hard to evaluate with the roster they have  I would say petsing is my 31st power rated OC yeah I mean we just talked about Tim Kelly  I'm not a big Tim Kelly I put Tim Kelly 30th oh Tim Kelly's 30th for me uh Pete Car
michael  actually how about Dave vergon Dave we're going he's in he's in the the mid-20s  he's uh he's a known quantity we run um and then real quick point about  no you want to guess who's number 32 there's a lot of unknowns but there's one but  there's one known he's the uh Dave's announced 28 29 something like that uh there's there's a  lot of unknowns and they kind of fill out 2010 31. no no I think uh Brian shot and I hit  honestly Brian shot we haven't even really talked about him we did t
he Cowboys  but his scheme might actually be kind of Ideal for the current this is what we're  gonna yeah it's funny this is how little we want to [ __ ] talk about what we're  talking about like you know it's gonna be interesting once we figure out how much  you shot Neymar and how much is McCarthy umick Lombardi Mick Lombardi's down in the low 20s offense probably no Canada's  now Canada I'm a Canada guy now do you know the name of the offensive coordinator  in Green Bay uh I do it's Adam sten
ovich Adams yeah no actually I'd be curious we have hack  it yes he is 32 with the bullet nothing that I've seen from him this preseason has changed my  opinion and in fact he is uh I do not understand how he has give been given the keys to this  offense I don't get it the more of the the more Broncos I watch from last season just in passing  I'm just like what uh hell like um it better be you bet he better be there just didn't name only  and this is Aaron Rodgers calling the offense because uh
he's 32 for me but petsing's number  31. because don't I have the least information on him and I don't think that with this with  this uh roster of uh Talent he's gonna have anything to really show us what he's made of the  uh turnover on the roster for that what's worth I had Hopkins as the second most valuable uh  offensive player for the Cardinals last year even in though he did not play uh much you know  I didn't play a huge compliment of games he was still there second most important player
I believe  uh he's gone obviously he is in Tennessee now um I get why they didn't want to you know give him  more money that was a good decision by Austin Ford um JJ Watt I thought was the most important  defensive player for this team last year and he is gone as well um that's not good this is  uh this is starting to get a little uh spooky because this was not a good team and their most  important players are not on the roster anymore um uh oh uh I guess actually I take it back  I I basically
had co-defensive MVPs between JJ Watt and Buddha Baker Well yeah if you  remember earlier in the year Buddha Baker asked for a trade they're starting I mean that's  what basically everybody on Twitter started to talk about once the Isaiah Simmons trade went  through it's like Buddha Baker needs to speak up again here yeah and get out of this mess  because it is I mean both teams it's gonna be like hey it's Buddha Baker and a bunch of guys  hey it's Aaron McDonald and a bunch of guys um last last
note on the coordinators coaches  changes Nick Rallis I think it's Rallis I have to figure out how to say some of these  uh coordinators names shoot another another Minnesota connection uh not only from here but did  spend some time under which I can't like hate on somebody who spent some time up in Minnesota and  that part of you know that part of the Vikings those were some good defenses in the 2018-2019  so maybe you know maybe he has something but uh fun fact he is the brother of Riddick Mo
ss of  the WWE who obviously you remember last February um on the Fatal four-way he uh defeated  carrion cross Escobar and Rey Mysterio how could you become the number one Contender for  the Intercontinental Championship how could you forget I just love these Wikipedia rabbit holes  that they get on but it's okay his brothers WWE weird side notes on these but okay let's do two  other rosters yeah two of the roster comments um Zach Allen and Marcus golden we're both  fine players I don't love tha
t you're losing that defensive depth especially if you're  bringing in a new defensive minded head coach um Billy Price gone I did not like Billy  Price he is now in New Orleans he's not auditioned by subtraction but he's  not really that big of a subtraction um everybody else was poorly rated AJ Green did  not have a good season Byron Murphy didn't have a good season Ben Neiman didn't have a good  season chosen Anderson did not have a good season Cody Ford Max Garcia Michael dogby  Sean Harlow
Ronnie Hudson Andy Lee Justin Pugh Tanner Vallejo Chris banjo Rashad coward  Trace McSorley Nick vigil Jace Whitaker Daryl Williams all had stints with the Cardinals  last year and are no longer on this roster so it is a heavy heavy turnover here um yeah  you're going with essentially you're gonna head into the season because of the injury with  backup quarterbacks at best to the point where you actually just traded for a quarterback and Josh  Dobbs who might be better than either the either of
the players you've been putting out there in  Camp so far this year Donald just kind of looked okay in Camp and preseason your wide receiver  room is rough although Rondell Moore and Marquis Brown have done some things in the past that you  know maybe if this offensive line were made up of some guys who don't love a rookie who you know  reports of Paris Johnson have been good from Camp it's you know it's he's looked good it's it's not  uh like ocean yeah the problem is everybody listen to Kyler
and we [ __ ] up like the pub is good  right now but essentially like on offense it's like hey James Connor's good okay this guy can  catch some balls so I mean they do have a tight end catch they have a running back who obviously  can catch a lot of balls they can put together an offense to not you know look just ridiculous  at times their additions I don't see a way where this I don't see a way where what they you know  what they added to the defense and then obviously what they took away does
n't make it up who did  they have a big candidate their big swing on the defense was bringing in kazir white and I guess if  you're getting feedback from the linebackers coach who's your defensive coordinator and he's like  White's more valuable than you realize oh okay it's hard to tell too because at that that was  so good maybe you know maybe if you brought him with and he likes them a lot but I mean JJ  Allen or JJ Allen JJ Watt had lost you know a lot of getting towards remember he had to
hit his heart like restarted too I'm kind of glad you're retired I don't need any of that  but no no I like Byron Byron Murphy might have something left in the tank if he were on a better  secondary we'll find out Minnesota I think yeah isn't he gone yeah he's gone yeah no that's what  I'm saying oh okay they had some guys last year with something left to tank yeah hard to tell  at times yeah yeah if white if white turns out okay and Buddha Baker's good and then you know  they they are moving xa
vin Collins up again moving positions so let's I'm not I'm not hopeful  based on what they added here okay Carlos Watkins like what what kind of what kind of number do  you have on Carlos Watkins yeah an incomplete what position does he even play Carlos he's  like interior interior defensive line Carlos so he's a second Stringer uh let me take a look  here I think he's gonna rotate it in man oh boy um walking oh yeah no yeah I've what I've  meaningfully below replacement level for Watkins um I I
mean honestly in the front six  their best saving Collins is the only guy who's above replacement in the front six  Buddha Baker is the only guy who's you know more than just a sniff above replacement um  and uh Jalen Thompson is replacement level everybody else that's going to be making  snaps on this defense I think is pretty bad um I guess the question I have for you  is what happened with Isaiah Simmons Why didn't it work do you think they sold  low uh why do you think they sold low do you
get why a lot of the kind of immediate fan  reaction was good reddits I mean like he okay what happened it's hard when you see you explain  you know it's hard when you see like two clips and obviously I didn't spend a lot of time watching  Arizona Cardinal Clips this preseason so far mostly just uh you know ones that could have  yakity sacks behind them but there was pretty low effort might see a Sims I don't know I'm not  so sure he wanted to be on this team there was there was one in one of th
e preseason games or  a scrimmage where it's just like this guy is I don't know if he wants to be on this team or if  he wants to play football right now he does not look good he was one of those weird ones where  hey he's good in coverage but he's also kind of a linebacker but when we pass rushed with him and  obviously I'm talking like college when you pass a rush with him he's very effective too and it  became an issue of where does this guy play he had talked to you know coaching staff prese
ason  said I want to move from linebacker I want to be coverage more I want to be in safe I want to be a  safety they were going to facilitate that and then I don't know if it was just how Camp went and his  effort level and his his growth there they got rid of him for basically a bag of balls I mean seventh  round pick is not worth very much uh somebody had a really good tweet and I wish I could give him  credit but they said this too it's like you know and we're doing this with Trey Lance too
like oh  my God how could we just not start this guy he's he was a top three pick he was a top five pick  this is wild it's like you know during covid Talent evaluation took a huge hit like where  people if you remember Trey Lance had to have a game in the spring just for him basically they  had an extra game up at North Dakota State just so he could throw the ball in live action ahead  of the draft because he got his entire season canceled the year before right you know we had so  much trouble
and I love this tweet that because they brought up a bunch of good empirical examples  of like hey Talent evaluation sucked for a while yeah and I think we saw that and saw and we saw  it heavily with a couple teams you saw well hey there's some top 10 top 20 picks it just they  look really bad so I think there's a case where maybe you know who's the Regiment of yeah you  know Pro days and the combine and everything and maybe some of these guys wouldn't have been  top 10 Banks yeah you know who'
s pretty good at evaluating defense San Francisco 49ers  you know who they drafted Javon kinlaw um he has been a swing in a Miss uh you  know who's pretty good at uh um you know evaluating um uh wide receivers uh well yeah  no I I was the Steelers yeah the Steelers uh but but really like you know I was gonna say the  eagles they took Jalen rager over Justin Jefferson this is this is uh kind of indicative of some  of the mistakes that were made in the 2020 draft um the uh yeah there were some bad
ones Patrick  Queen going to Baltimore in round one was a swing and a miss Titans took Isaiah Wilson is he even  in in the uh in football anymore I think he's out um yeah these misses happen you know I'm using  Code reflection of an excuse but like Corey Davis was a top five pick five years ago he just  retired like sometimes sometimes it just doesn't work out sometimes it's just not a good marriage  or obviously injuries complain of that too but I hate that when they're like oh my god like  pe
ople people are you remember betting that draft I'm starting to hate Giants fans Drew I think it  sucks because I like what they're doing up there but they're starting to make me feel bad because  they were just like you know really drinking their own Kool-Aid like oh my God Shane and I think  Shane's a good GM but like oh my God the fleecing seventh round pick for a top ten pick it's like  embarrassing it's like yeah but he doesn't have a position he doesn't guess what his draft position  is it
's a sunk cost for somebody else it doesn't matter what that person you know like you go to a  garage sale and by sudden it doesn't matter what that person paid for it five years ago yes what's  it what's it worth you what's it worth right now so it's just silly to use that sort of I mean it's  exciting if you're a fan like oh [ __ ] we got a and and to be fair for them like a seventh-run  pick for somebody who had that kind of grading going into the draft yeah obviously there's a lot  of upside
and if not you can just kind of cut the guy yeah so uh yeah even yeah that that draft  was wild though you remember betting that draft that was like the the highlight of Draft betting  because 2020 there was no other live sports going on and that uh that draft was so so fun to get  get action on uh the hottest name leading into the draft was cornerback CJ Henderson Jags took him in  nine he went I think he was CB2 after Jeff okuda into the Lions third uh yeah both neither neither  jeffo Cuda or
CJ Henderson plays for the teams that drafted them in the top ten uh so Isaiah  Simmons is joins uh a field of three defensive players from the top ten of that draft who are  no longer with their team when I was at the year before the year afterwards I think the year after  was saving Collins David Collins came the year after you yeah it's just um you know possibly they  just didn't have a good a good uh evaluation of defensive Talent so off-season grade hey you got  rid of Cliff Kingsbury and
Steve guy and he stole all the draft pick in next year's top 10 from  the Texans uh Hey honestly like like the like I I I'm not even joking here like every  I liked everything except for the um everything like self-evaluating looking at  yourself and being like Oh my God we are a to win team let's tack into that you know you know who  didn't like the cannon higher who uh our friend in Houston link that's a Zelda joke oh oh oh yeah  for the Nerds out there you know who loved the Gannon hire Andy
and it's probably coloring some  of my opinion here every Philadelphia Eagles fan because they're like yeah that's probably coloring  some of my opinion so I should I should literally wipe the Slate clean with them and see what he  actually does as a head coach before yeah I think I'm giving them a c off-season as in I have to  wait and see if they win fewer than four games then I'm pretty happy with it okay let's look at  the schedule because I I mean tell me which four because uh I mean I gues
s you got two games that  moved on the the under the other day after that or they've had it in some accounts for a while it's  one of those where you know every year there's a team with a low win total that surprises and I  mean I don't even want to talk too much about the schedule because well I do it's a bunch of  touched you know a bunch of touchdown dogs for for good reasons those are good teams but they do  have travel advantages being a coastal team when they do get some of these teams the
re's chances  it wins like they can beat the Giants you know you you can beat some of these teams and have some  nasty travel spots that aren't you know maybe five six points better than you that's where you  can win some of these games and obviously you can win some games in the second part of the Season  Atlanta Houston Rams really stick out if Kyler Murray comes back is engaged wants to play well  show up the second half of the Season be you know kind of have some momentum building for the 20
24  year there's wins in the schedule just uh you know we we didn't paint a real nice picture of this  this uh roster and I don't know I feel like we're kind of it you know painting a median picture  of it it could be worse than what we're saying you're definitely could um I don't know what what stuck out to you well  I mean the other the other thing that did stick out is the cold weather games late at Chicago  at it's a West Coast Southeast Southwestern Dome team and you go to Pittsburgh late y
ou  go to Chicago Lake you go to Philly late um Cleveland I don't know we'll see what it's like  in November but like East Coast early start games at cold weather towns have fun with that I guess  yeah I think I think uh week 10 to the end of the season you basically have to put a line through  all that because it's probably going to be Kyla Murray we have we don't know but it probably  will be in fact if I you know I mean I I don't see like a really soft defense that I really  want to insert hi
m honestly there's only one bad defense no I know but like I don't want to  put him I don't want to put him out there with Miles Garrett chasing down I want to put him out  there with TJ while chasing him down I don't want a baron Donald you know like what like there's a  lot of Midland At Home Atlanta at home okay okay um yeah I I don't see an obvious where do we  insert this guy um the thing I wanted I don't know just push push it's not it's not like Hey  we're inserting a rookie no I know but
if he if he's a guy you paid up you gave him a contract I  don't think there'll be any kid gloves of like oh we gotta eats this the day he's ready it's it's  and the other side of that is you don't put him out there before he's ready because this isn't  like oh [ __ ] we just need to get Kyler back and then we're a Super Bowl Contender we're gonna win  so many games you wait until he's absolutely ready to go but then when he is you get him in there  right away and get him get him you know accli
mated to this new offense this new coaching staff this  new this new uh Team around him so I don't I guess I don't care where they start him just start him  when he's ready okay uh I mean I'm I guess I'm trying to just predict a little I suppose because  yeah yeah I've read varying reports on okay you know when he's gonna be ready but yeah it's kind  of mid-season is where I'm I'm figuring so yeah okay I'm assuming he's back there I guess okay  all right because yeah again like I'm trying to lik
e kind of think in the in the mind put myself  in the mind of the franchise what is you know how do they benefit from this what do they get out  of this and uh you don't want to put them out there and you see him like running around like  a chicken with his head cut off behind a media you know a miserable interior offensive line  and uh and getting you know getting hit by a you know especially good pass rushers and you know  you want to you want them to look good so he's a piece you can yeah so
he's an asset and the only  reason you started this year is to make everyone in the NFL feel like this guy's an asset or to  make your fans feel like this guy I had to go look at the dates I knew it was early December so  it's December 12th what's nine months from there you know you're saying like [ __ ] that's earlier  in the season that I'm figuring I don't think he's gonna be ready until Halloweenish but that's  just my opinion so nine months is kind of a rule of thumb as far as like that's w
hen a guy can be  ready some guys it stretches out a little further than that so you know somewhere probably somewhere  in the weeks four to twelve range who knows 12 takes you to almost a full year though so I'm probably somewhere in the weeks four  to eight range he's coming back okay um so the the thing that I kind of look at the  schedule is week one through four because we do know who the quarterback is going to be oh  wait we don't because they have not named a week one starter between Col
t McCoy and Clayton  tune all right Andy as currently roster stops is currently rostered I do not have the  Cardinals within six points of the Commanders I do not have the Cardinals sniffing four  points at home against the Giants I do not think the Cardinals are going to be inside of  a touchdown against the Cowboys I do not think the Cardinals are going to be inside of double  digits against the Niners I have every realistic expectation that with the defensive lines that  these four teams are
bringing to those contests that the Arizona Cardinals May score somewhere in  the ballpark of two or three offensive touchdowns in the first four weeks of the Season like that's  how bad this is those defensive lines Washington New York Dallas San Francisco are all in the  top ten like squarely in the top ten for me uh Giants is the lowest of those but they have some  absolute game records in that in that uh d-line the offensive line and particularly the interior  offensive line for this Cardina
ls team looks like a problem and you have Colt McCoy or Clayton  tune Yonder duress from interior pressure I just I don't see any way that this offense gets  going until week six at the Rams at the earliest um so I guess what I'm getting at is these  plus you know these Plus numbers in the top half of the schedule here they're going one  way and it's they're they're going to be bigger good we're gonna I I think the the early Arc of  the Cardinals might be a teaser leg because it's sitting at eig
ht the the early Arc of the Season  Andy is going to be we need to find the bottom seriously I'm not kidding like I you know  this team is power rated something like let me let me look at him predictable because I  want to know what they say market number is right now they have Arizona 32nd six and a half  points worse than an average team on a neutral I'm going to speculate that by the time we get  to week four the unpredictable number for the Cardinals generic points is double digits  what do
you think about that prediction yeah I mean it's going to come down to how this  offensive line plays with with the quarterback they're putting up but man just the camp stuff  I've seen and truthfully one of the most sickening things I've seen is um people posting clips of  Minnesota receivers like oh my God Jordan Addison is him like Hey yes like there there was one clip  where Buddha was featured I'll give it that but it's like hey you're playing against a cardinal  secondary you know [ __ ] s
crimmage practice here Kate Katrell Clark's not making a roster on any  other in any other City yeah I'm like that doesn't that doesn't count I mean and it's you know it's  not mutually exclusive like Addison probably is a good receiver he can be a good receiver but it's  like let's not do this that's the Cardinals so yum I I just the defense will be very very bad and  the The X Factor between this being like a minus I don't know minus 10 in the power ratings  and I guess do you think I'm I'm wa
y off base no I think the difference once we get through that  first quarter of the season is how did whatever one of these three quarterbacks who are all you  know replacement level or Worse play behind kind of a re you know reconfigured offensive line if  it's bottom five then yeah it's a double digit negative par rating if it's if they played okay  that can bring this team to be competitive against the Giants at home to be competitive maybe against  Washington maybe later against the Rams and
some of these you know games but it's uh it's still  you know if if it's bottom five and we just see you know like Sam Howell tear this team apart if  we see Daniel Jones just have his way with them on the ground and in the air it's it's gonna be a  quick downgrade okay all right well um we'll see what they look like uh oh God we're gonna look  at the odds yeah let's oh Jesus good job Dan the bag of Shame um the Cardinals  are 180 to 1 to win the Super Bowl um I would probably need something  i
n the ballpark of 180 000 I think um NFC 85 to one NFC West 27-1 this is the biggest  gap on paper between two teams in a division that I have in all football between the Niners and the  Cardinals and they have to play each other twice um yes no playoffs yeses just under 10 to 1 no  is minus 2200 win total is at four and a half just to the under don't know how we're getting  to four as we have covered um the fact that Kyler Murray could come back early and who the  heck knows it just you know he
does have a pulse um and we don't really know what to  expect with Drew petzing uh has kept me away from playing uh you know uh all  in 17 kind of a prop for these guys but we could be talking about that in December  it's entirely possible this is a tough schedule yeah no the getting above four and a half is  calorimeters back in like week five yeah and they're able to win some coin flips because maybe  he he makes things happen we we put you know we have someone up there who's not throwing out
four wide receivers just to four throw four wide receivers and then do stupid things with them you  know we could have some sort of a semi-competent offense which what I still believe is very good  quarterback when he's healthy like that's how you get the five wins it has to be him coming back you  know prior to like week five six seven in there I've seen articles like months ago just like he's  he's targeting week one it's like no that's that's awful that's awful aggressive that's like eight
months I'm just not quite in need it it's kind of nine is that Baseline but you need nine for an ACL  probably a little more so that that's your your X Factor is probably when he comes back to even  sniff it if you you know if you get wind that they're just shutting them down they're trying  to find some markets that are still open I guess yeah um I don't think that happens there's  just no daylight at the end of this season like like the easiest game in your final  quarter of the season I gues
s is at Chicago um otherwise your home for San Francisco  Seattle and you're at Philly I mean that Philly spread by the time we get there could be  you know a bunch 14. standing Revenge game though um um steak and revenge game worked out last night  yeah I sure did um I don't think Philadelphia is going to play this Philadelphia starts their  threes yeah I don't think that's gonna happen all right range of outcomes nothing good betting  plan uh unders unders unders I like the I already played th
e under for week one against and  the range of outcomes commanders zero to six coin flips within the range of outcomes is this  team does not score an offensive touchdown until week six I'm not kidding I know but it's  cold McCoy out there running for his life I don't know man there's been some bad I mean  there's been some pretty bad freaking clips from Camp the Cardinals are on record that they're  gonna run James Connor into the ground Andy I love that either Marquis Brown looks he's  lost go
od um I like James Connor but yeah the depth there too it's they have Corey Clement I  think Corey Clements rb3 chiante Ingram's uh rb2 woohoo he's like he's like a fifth round pick  from year or two ago I don't know man did they just trade for Josh Dobbs did that happen  yeah no that's what I'm saying like is he alive well that's why I asked somebody did  you just say yeah no I asked well I asked that yesterday I'm like Jesus because you know I  saw him play a little preseason I saw some last y
ear with Titans I'm like probably better  like his the hang up is he hasn't been in Camp if they had traded for him pre-camp you  can probably use qb1 in this team right now wow I just it's it's too late not gonna get a not  gonna get a you know preseason action unless they throw them out there against Minnesota I  don't see I mean I think they must know that Commander's defense is going to kill Colt  McCoy and then the uh we just yeah we just need volume the Dallas defense the Dallas defense is
going to end Clayton toon season so you're gonna need a warm body to start that San Francisco  game and I guess it's going to be Josh Dobbs jeez man this is brutal all right let's put  a bow on them come back next year and see how you did yeah betting plan don't check  we'll check in with you in 2024 Cardinals three two one welcome to the Deep dive Ram's up  next in our glowing warm review preview of the NFC West where we have some electric we got  some teams that are Super Bowl contenders we
got some teams that have recently won Super  Bowls NFC West is uh is where it's at Andy this is some of the most entertaining football  in uh in the league uh and uh yeah this Rams um franchise uh what's what's the right  word devolvement uh is amazing to see and it is not because the you know the pandemic  has completely broken my brain about time but it sure feels like Stafford hoisting  Lombardi Cooper cup Super Bowl MVP happened 50 years ago a million years ago at a minimum  no it did it's l
ike oh [ __ ] last year was there was their Super Bowl defense I guess  yeah and uh so quickly it's amazing I want to hand clap us I guess I mean the year they  won the Super Bowl go watch the preview from 2021 if you want but I'll just tell you we  were we were very much banging the table for this team might be bad because they're like  two injuries away from being a very bad team like they've they've built this thing  where it's it's so incredibly top heavy and it looks really good if everybod
y's healthy  and everyone's playing at least at a you know the levels that's expected that's a really good  team but if you if you lose a couple players if you lose it if your Center if you lose one wide  receiver if you lose any peace that's important at any level of the defense this thing falls apart  uh like a Jenga Tower man and it didn't happen and you know the The Impossible happened where  they stayed pretty healthy everything worked out Stafford fit in well and they won the Super Bowl  w
e're just I guess we're you're early on it and that doesn't make you a lot of money but I mean  last year was I mean last year that's what it was it was the oh you're top heavy and thin and this  is how a team Like This falls apart kind of thing because yeah it was a it was a Super Bowl titled  you know it was defense and they went out it was five and twelve cup tours ACL Stafford missed  time with concussions on top of the elbow injury um you know they needed to probably do some  sort of an o-l
ine rebuild they just decided you know through a lack of draft capital and  unavailable pieces it just didn't happen and that was you know bringing Baker Mayfield into  the uh end of the season and then you know kind of where we have ended up here in 2023 the  defense started to be I had outside of one or Surefire gold jacket kind of where you've got  uh A.D and I mean even Ramsay at times wasn't what we'd seen in years and sexy turd already but  I was for another team but it does suck that he s
tarts but that uh the defense took some  steps back and that's how you lose 12 games yeah I uh well I think you that Cooper cup we  do this thing with Jefferson and Tyreke and um Chase and they're like you know these  online arguments where it's the magic or excuse me Michael LeBron stuff for my money give  me a healthy Cooper cup all year because I don't know it seems like it's sometimes it's easier  to find a couple guys who can at least run fast for some outside threats somebody who's  that e
ffective in the slot constantly he's a just watching those games that I've bat  against him he's in enormous pain in the ass and I think that that's like a huge compliment  like it just has to be maddening to kind of scheme against a team that can just constantly  do that across anything you put out because you either have to have a god-level nickel corner  or you know just I guess yours your Zone better be really tied up in the middle you better have  some fast linebackers you just [ __ ] all t
he time and cup Cup's the kind of guy just like oh no you  got like 2 000 yards somehow and see he got uh 200 [ __ ] Targets this year I mean these are players  that are still on the team cup is kind of trending towards playing pretty early in the year there's  still some pieces that was my biggest thing and I wanted your opinion I was actually kind of excited  to talk to you about the Rams a little because of having the caliber of quarterback they have having  that true and it's not the same as
you know an outside guy but having a true wide receiver one  having a god-level defensive presence to build around like it does kind of feel like they're  biting their time and maybe gonna try to run this back one more time next year I just don't  know if you have enough Capital to try to put that together so I'm kind of stuck at where  they're at as a franchise because then and I didn't even mention you have a a high-end coach  you have a high-end coach high-end play call or high-end scheme yo
u know put her together  at this point as well yeah okay um where's where's your head at as far as where they're  at on a like a long-term Arc with this year it's tough man because the last time we  saw these guys they were non-competitive with uh Baker Mayfield out there although they did have some incredible wins at the end  of last season including beating the um uh Raiders in prime time as huge dogs and uh  and winning the Nickelodeon slime game uh against the um uh the Broncos right wasn't
that like a 50  to nothing game or something and saying like that um so it's it's a it's a weird uh you know kind  of reflecting on uh you know how this team was power rated towards the end of last year uh and  squaring with how people feel about them now um and I look at the roster this is okay dude I  and I like I did this and I tripped out because I was like oh yeah they won the Super Bowl like  let's look at their roster in like January 2021 whenever that was it was January 2022. it's  been
18 months so this is team won the Super Bowl and they are and I was like man so much  roster turnovers well no a to the 11 starters that they have on the depth chart for week one  we're on this roster uh it took the field played in that Super Bowl so there is a bit of a through  line here on the offensive side of the depth chart with this Rams team it's really the defense that  has you scratching your heads in terms of what is the uh what is the plan here um these guys are  Aaron Donald and the
a cast of characters that I I I mean I can't even kind of wrap my head  around how where'd you even find these guys like what what is uh uh what you know where  how did you populate this side of the football um and that's uh that's concerning because  um you know one of the things that made the the ram so special was they were a pretty fairly  balanced team they weren't just doing it with the the offensive genius of Sean McVay it was it was  balanced they had a great defense anchored by as you m
entioned the Hall of Famer Aaron Donald um  you know of the guys that they are starting here in on the defensive side I think there's only  two uh that uh were on that Super Bowl team so um you know this is a pretty aggressive turnover  here and a lot of the guys that really stood out on their defense are gone um so they're gonna have  to get it done by scoring 30 points a game and the question that I have about actually being  able to do that revolves around the health of Matt Stafford first th
e health of Cooper cup  second the continuity and ability of the offensive line to provide protection for a quarterback who's  had pretty significant elbow injury now going on two years so I you know I look at it this team  overall and the particularly the defensive side of the of the roster and I think you know this isn't  a barely an NFL franchise and I end up being power rated like they're you know still gonna win some  games but I almost want to pay to see it and uh you know I think the down
side the tail you know  the tail part of the distribution of what could happen to them this year is pretty pretty bad it's  pretty low but it's fueled by the idea that Cooper cup isn't on the team anymore because they've  traded him for assets for future rebuild or Stafford's not on the team because they've traded  him or he's retired or he's been a put on injured reserve like those are realistic possibilities  in my mind Aaron Donald I mean I don't think you want to necessarily let those guys w
alk out the  door because you want to put them in your ring along or you want them to retire as Rams but if  the reality is we are in rebuild mode we need to lose games we need to get draft capital and we  need to start Drafting and developing like if that becomes the plan at any point instead of let's  run it back one more time we got our we got our Super Bowl offense here guys we just got to score  30 points a game and hold on for dear [ __ ] life um you know like I think we're gonna know pret
ty  soon in the season what the you know what the win which direction the wind is blowing does  that make sense yeah it does too and you know obviously trying to read the tea leaves and  Stafford has been tough but I think he's just I feel like he's gonna try to  play through this elbow thing through the rest his career I  I think he just realizes like it's tough too just he has to be able to know like  what this team's looking like this year and that makes it trickier but you know he's not youn
g  anymore maybe he realizes like I can't sit all if I if I sit a whole season I'm just I might  as well retire maybe that's where he's at and he just has come to the realization like I don't  want to retire yet versus if I you know if I get this elbow fixed up and I miss a significant time  because of it do I really want to come back and play football so I'm just gonna stick it out with  this it's really last year was the concussions that kept him out we've just we've been waiting  for this elb
ow to put him out for a significant time for three years no and it it just doesn't  seem to be doing its job quite well enough but yeah there's a there's a definite case for uh  oh [ __ ] this is broken even some of the guys that we you know brought in last year to kind of  improve the defensive touch and you can say what you want about Bobby Wagner or God who's the  edge rusher they had in here last year Bobby Wagner graded okay for me he played um Leonard  Leonard Floyd like there were some gu
ys that were they graded okay for this team last year and then  you know they're gone again yeah you had some guys that weren't here all that long he had you lost  Jalen Ramsay like you have deficits at all three levels in the defense so if the defense is truly  bad and you're not getting it done with you know as we mentioned Stafford and cup a lot but I think  it's it's fair to start talking about what's after that because van Jefferson hasn't really lived  up to any sort of expectations obviou
sly Allen Robinson didn't but a little bit of a different  situation last year before he left Ben scaronic um Higby Kim yeah yeah that's uh the rest the rest  of the offensive skill position players don't lend me to think that this is gonna be like oh it's  an explosive enough offense to make up for a bad defense and next year they're just a few pieces  away they're just gonna get they're gonna pick up a couple defensive free agents and this is a team  that's going to compete with San Francisco
and Seattle and everything's gonna be hunky-dory it  does feel like uh like to your point I don't know how this happens or who pays or what his contract  situation looks like but and maybe it's after the season maybe that's where it happens but the  Cooper cup not being on this team long term kind of checks out yeah um I mean I think yeah I mean I  think realistically if if the if you self-evaluate after the first quarter of the season and you're  one and three or two and two even but you can te
ll that you know your defense is just not even NFL  caliber if you can tell that you know like you're one Cooper cup injury away from being irrelevant  again or one Matthew Stafford is away from being relevant again I think you got to pull the report  and you gotta tack into a rebuild because last year you were expected to win 10 and a half games  Super Bowl odds were 11-1 ish to start the season uh you win five that had to probably be the the  biggest Misfit to the Ender of any team I think clo
se ten and a half to five was that did anyone  miss their winter five and a half last year that's usually about two to the negative I was gonna say  there's a couple of five things over maybe Broncos was a bigger Miss oh yeah the Broncos probably  up there as well yeah well what's funny about both of those teams the Broncos and the Rams is  neither had a top 10 pick even though they won like five games they both had traded away their  picks for their respective quarterbacks uh so the pick that w
ould have helped the rebuild at six  went to Detroit Detroit traded that pick obviously to the Cardinals who drafted Paris Johnson Jr but  you know what would be nice a big shiny awesome ol one to put it to put on this line to help  protect Stafford for one more go at it I guess um so it's you know it's it's uh they're paying  the piper in a lot of respects for the crash you know the slash and burn draft picks don't mean  anything starters and scrubs approach that they took they already damn dam
n lucky they won the  Super Bowl or there would be people whose job would pay be paying with their job for um  you know the state of the franchise I think um and you know it's it was a very fortunate  path for them we covered it last year in the preview but like if if the Niners if if Dak gets  off a pass at the end of that Niners Cowboys game and the Cowboys win they go to Tampa instead of  the ramps Rams go to Green Bay where they never solved Aaron Rodgers at all never had a realistic  good g
ood performance cold weather and uh they matched up perfectly with the Bucks they win the  Bucks game the Niners take care of business in San Francisco I mean in Green Bay kind of the perfect  roster perfect team to do that uh and the result is as a four seed you get the freaking you get a  home NFC Championship game and then a home Super Bowl and you didn't have to you didn't have  to play Josh Allen you didn't have to play Pat mohomes you got in his first ever playoff push Joe  burrow and Comp
any the surprise Bengals like you kind of can't even script it any better than that  and that's what it took to get this team there Super Bowl that they were so you know so enamored  to get and um now now they pay the piper right now now now the bill comes due and that's just I feel  like if we if we went and actually looked back man maybe maybe it's more common now because  it feels like in the 90s like those cowboys teams are so good and those 49ers teams honestly  anybody in the NFC East that
won a Super Bowl in the late 80s through the early 90s was just a  really good team but it feels like we've had more of those over the past you know 15 years or  it's like have this team get to the Super Bowl oh this was a shitty team yeah it was never  be in the playoffs but it's like and that they don't make the Super Bowl all that often and you  know the ram honestly both Giants teams that won it both times I mean they needed some things to  happen there was a Steelers team uh the Flacco the
Flacco uh Ravens that won it like that was  just outlier performances it's it's crazy how I think maybe you know what did we talk about what  did the NFL want they wanted this you know parody and I think we're getting a little closer to that  if you can get into the playoffs and you can run hot a little it's it's just not the same leak as  we used to have yeah I would also say that uh it's even more Stark in baseball because they play 162  freaking games so by the time you get to the end of sea
son you know who the best teams are like and  the fact that they don't win the World Series very often is a little it feels like a little bit  more of an injustice yeah 2001 Mariners yeah this is the laundry list a really really good  baseball teams that did not make it deep in the MLB playoffs but uh uh yeah for sure the the  Super Bowl does not always go to the best team um and it takes some luck and uh we probably don't  really acknowledge that as much as we should and the Rams are probably k
ind of the the textbook  example 2022 um besides being a lost year on this from the standpoint of uh uh only winning  five games I mean at one point this team was three and like 12 right or three and ten something  like that um I forget maybe it was only three and nine but um they they pick up wins week two and  week three um they only covered in week three uh they were a bad team against the spread All  Season uh despite uh covering in four of their final six they finished the season six ten  a
nd one against the spread um they were an under team so it was largely the offensive line  injuries combined with Stafford underperforming combined with cup getting hurt uh really LED this  team to struggle offensively a number of games um they only scored nine in the loss at San  Francisco I remember backing them that day and feeling like an absolute idiot they only scored  10 against the Cowboys the next week and this is when they were still quasi-healthy um they have  a stretch in the middle
of the Season where they could not get 220 points to save their lives  they finally do it against the the Saints but the Saints scored 27 so they still lost uh it's  not until the Denver game where they blew up for 51 points I think largely because Denver quit um  I don't know how else that happens and I didn't watch much of that game outside of the Patrick  interview where Russell Wilson threw the pick um so ultimately uh you know just a  total totally should show Lost season and um you know I
think that maybe maybe coloring  perceptions a little more than it ought to be in terms of how things are going to go this  year um you want to talk about their off season ah and he's muted gotta get back to that tab um yeah obviously  didn't have a lot of draft Capital High up they actually had quite a few picks especially  once they did some trading I think a lot of that comes from no you we'll trade you our  first for this and you throw in a sixth and a seventh I would have to look at where a
ll  these trades come from because of their last um the last seven picks they made two of them  were Theirs to begin with they did you know they did a lot of Wheeling and dealing they had  yeah they had four four in the seventh it looks like if they took three they traded one same in  the sixth one two three four four in the fifth they took Stetson Bennett who was their backup at  this point now but yeah the they got a guard at 30 Stakes uh Stephen Villa from TCU and then really  the you know th
e offseason wasn't uh wasn't super off-seasony I guess maybe in maybe last year  we didn't even talk about this they did lose a coordinator last year to Minnesota I know it's  true McVay is the the architect here but sometimes those things matter yes you know there was a guy  that uh he put together game plans with for a couple years and it didn't uh it doesn't help to  lose a guy like that it'll be interesting to see what happens with some of these places so you know  the Andy Reeds and the syr
ianis of the worlds who lost their their secondhand man dude outside of uh  McVeigh the um the Rams uh coaching uh org chart is a revolving door it's a revolving door yeah  seriously like there's a new guy in a new in this in a new position every single year going back  like six years now like the lack of continuity underneath McVay I think is impacting their  ability to develop even though maybe a bigger impact is that they are trading away their picks  so they can't they don't have talented pl
ayers that they're drafting to develop but whatever the  case is it has really been an aggressive turnover in the head coaching room last year's offensive  coordinator Liam Cohen no longer with the team he is uh I don't think he got another job oh  no he's the offensive coordinator quarterbacks coach at Kentucky now in college football going  back to the role he had in 2021 so McVeigh loses O'Connell he goes and gets Kentucky's OC and then  sends him back after what a [ __ ] Segway true um where
so we're pre-recording this if you're  trying to watch it live you can't comment we're ignoring your comment because uh Drew has some  traveling but we're gonna put this up on a Monday and today if you live in Kentucky  it's pre-registration day so uh if you want to support the brand and  you're in Kentucky and you're going to sign up anyway please go over to you know just at  betsford's on Twitter uh we're gonna have we have guys that are working on this today it's  Friday when we're recording
this like there's two or three people at the company today that  are working on making sure all the sportsbooks give us their you know their best offers so we  can send them out to people in Kentucky and get them signed up so are you allowed there should  be a shitload of promos for you if you do some of these pre because a lot of these states you  do the pre-registration uh and get the promo and then when they when they actually go live you get  the second promo because uh Kentucky slated to g
o live September 28th okay uh the the pre-regs  will start August 28th okay so does the uh do they have any rules about are you  allowed to bet on Kentucky football and Liam Cohen's offense I haven't checked into  that every state is so stupid about these yeah those kids that I were not helping us yeah like  um those kids that are gambling on their own teams they're not helping to not get those rules put  into place yeah but yeah now they now they have uh and granted it is again it is mcphase of
fense  but uh Mike LaFleur who is jettison from the Jets um yeah you're gone uh they also they lost Beyond  just Liam Cohen they weren't even able to retain guys who kind of are good on who were down on the  assistance chart like Thomas Brown Thomas Brown would have been a good guy to elevate into OC um  he is gone uh he's the offensive quarter somewhere else no I forget off the top of my head he's  Panthers Panthers OC um so you know it's uh it's it's troubling um you did retain your defensive
quieter but he is working with all new pieces so continuity doesn't exactly help you the uh uh the  pl the the list okay so I do this uh uh screening of my database with players for players who are no  longer with the team who were with the team last year and players who have been added right from  just from the database not not including draft choices these are the players who played for the  Rams last year who are no longer with the team in order of good of of of impact and score last  year t
o you know most to least you ready for this linebacker Bobby Wagner defensive back Jalen  Ramsey linebacker Leonard Floyd quarterback Baker Mayfield defensive tackle Greg Gaines  I feel like we took a step from oh there was a big oh there was a big old step from Floyd to  Baker for sure yeah uh defensive tackle Greg Greg Gaines kicker Matt gay uh defensive back Taylor  rap defensive back Nick Scott uh cornerback Troy Hill uh linebacker Justin Hollins tackle tied  in the Nishiki uh defensive tack
le lay Sean Robinson guard ode abushi Hunter Riley Dixon  running back Daryl Anderson wide receiver Alan Robinson Center Matt scurra tackle Chandler  Brewer offensive lineman dead David Edwards offensive tackle Bobby Evans offensive or  outside linebacker Terrell Lewis uh defensive back uh David long wide receiver Brandon Brandon  Powell running back Malcolm Brown safety Terrell Burgess linebacker Jake Gervais guard Jeremiah  cologne long Snapper Matthew orzek quarterback Bryce Perkins and quart
erback John Wolford I  just named 30 players who took snaps for this team last year or were on you know made game day  rosters at some point who are no longer ramps you ready for the list of players they added through  free agency Andy Demarcus Robinson wide receiver Brett Rippin quarterback Sony Michelle runback who  promptly retired they added three they lost 30. and basically signed guys off the street undrafted  free agents rookies to play oh she was saying we don't dig into special teams al
l that much but  um and I guess I'm gonna have to pay attention to this little I didn't watch much of their preseason  yet but essentially rookie everything on special teams new punter new kicker uh I didn't mentioned  free agents uh new Long Snapper undrafted free agent new punter your punters your holder so a  lot of these uh a lot of these ones are going to be you know guys that we haven't seen the time  from yet I didn't mention Camp ad John Johnson who um by my grades is now your second bes
t defensive  player and you added him in Camp so it's wild looking at the hour loud's depth chart Andy  the entire third string of Rams defense is all rookies I don't think I've ever seen that  before I I don't know that I've ever seen that before the depth the depth is very young and if  if that gets tested it's going to be a problem and truthfully I hope they do test it because you have  a bunch of guys outside like you say you know uh I don't know how you feel about Aquila Witherspoon  I coul
d uh I think we could do better than than some of these spots uh obviously like you said  Josh Johnson just steps into just starting deep safety at this point but there's a bunch of names  that are young players rookies undrafted free agents that might as well get them some time see  what you have here if they make the squad yeah I don't have a very solid read one way the other  on Aquila Witherspoon I will tell you this though um Trend I think so I think the sum of the parts  here is like it's
very very low number okay when I'm like looking at positional grouping rankings  things like that across the NFL like there's a lot of a lot a lot of dark red here a lot of  31s a lot of 32s that said um most of the low grades that I'm giving is because there are so  many guys that I just have zeros ones like I don't know is this guy is this guy better than  a replacement you know below replacement level player zero clue so I you know I acknowledge  that there is a massive amount of uncertainty
here they've obviously you know there's been  mixed reports out of Camp about how these guys are adjusting to their roles responsibilities  blah blah blah certainly there's a little bit more optimism from things that I read that this  offense could be um you know something noteworthy to start the season the defense is just like  everybody's literally like what is what's what's What's Happening Here how how is this happening  what is the plan how are they going to do this um they have had a coupl
e of preseason  games where they the defense has been it's the right word shitty um you know getting  absolutely pushed around by the twos uh from the Raiders um in fact Megan Aiden O'Connell look like  uh he should have been considered as first overall uh in preseason week two uh is to me more of a  reflection of the Rams than it is a reflection of Aidan O'Connell has as even though like surely  he looks like you you'll be a very solid backup to Jimmy G much more so than um uh Brian horror woul
d  be uh they also gave up 34 points to the Chargers uh they didn't make Stetson Bennett look quite  as good obviously it's that not sets and Ben is there back on my bed um they didn't make uh  the uh the Chargers back up quarterback Max Dugan or Easton stick look especially good  but that said um they couldn't get off the field with Elijah Dotson running it down their  throats so uh no good no really good takeaways from the way that they've populated this depth  chart uh and I think this defens
e is probably starting the season squarely 32nd in the NFL  despite having a Hall of Famer anchoring things um do you take any exception to having them  as the last defense in terms of power rating in the NFL Andy crazy that you have to do  that with Aaron Donald on the squad but yeah um the only pushback I would have on  that is some things I've read about uh the the defensive secondary especially with  the addition of Josh Johnson now I have to find it here I think you have football Outsiders
says they kind of went negative on it and then pulled back and says the entire start projected  starting defensive backfield consists of day three picks on rookie contracts which that second  part can be a positive though that might be slightly underselling the talent I said Fuller  started every game during their Super Bowl run and missed a lot of last year with this hamstring  he'll be back uh Nickelback Durant got his uh said he got his hands in the ball a lot limited playing  time as a four
th round rookie looks like there's potential there uh Darian Kendrick got you know he  was one that got pushed into starting Duty it says earlier than they would have hoped so these guys  are there's potential in the defensive secondary I guess just looking at the the guys that are  going to be you know surrounding Aaron Donald I guess there's upside just because you  still got to put some hats on him but um I did read a couple places that there's  some upside in the Youth of the secondary um bu
t like we've mentioned a million  times during these preseason so you need a password to help them out and if that isn't  happening if you're not getting that from like oh you know Byron you're gonna have a rookie at  outside linebacker on one side you're gonna have Michael hooked and the other and some of the you  know again some of the backups are unsigned free or yeah unsigned undrafted free agents or rookies  backing those guys up if if you don't have some steps forward in the pass rush even
if it's  on the interior anything would get you some pressures it's gonna you know hurt those guys  that we see this potential in the defensive secondary so I I can see them being better than  you know the 30 second ranked team we're getting them but it's going to take some things to  happen and you know that the ceiling's not very high no it's not okay so real quick  the uh the any bull case for the uh Rams it has nothing to do with the defense being  effective at all I don't think this time I
keep saying they got to score 30 points a game  yeah probably true yeah okay so that part of it is contingent on the offensive line being League  average in my opinion and right now I grade them bottom five am I being too hard on this unit that  in part I think my grades are low because they are injury prone um if they have a healthy campaign it  could be very different uh you know Rob havenstein is the only guy in at any level on this offensive  line that I grade as above replacement level um
the other the next closest is Brian Allen  um what is your general sense of protection for Stafford will it matter and uh will  we be pleasantly surprised by this unit there's a quote from McVay saying Joe no Joe Noteboom is one of the five best  offensive linemen on this roster was it was meant to be I didn't see that it  was oh no it was it was in regards to you know like where once once he's because he you  know he's fighting an injury once he's healthy like basically is he is he your starter
on the  left side and that was his quote it's like oh no that's not the flex you think it is I I thought  I saved that because I thought you got a kick out of that boom earlier I had that quote typed  out I'm like I'm Gonna Save this one for the air um so yeah I'm not super hopeful that the  offensive line grades out very well this year I guess okay uh you think bottom five is fair or do  am I being too tough it's probably there yeah okay jono booms cap hit next year is 20 million dollars  he i
s uh he is going to play this year Andy because he is worth 21.5 in dead cap um so they're  going to give them a chance see what he's got there's no doubt about that um off season grades  you get an F and here's why oh self-evaluate guys like I know where you're at know where you're  at tear it down sell for parts get trash Capital like maybe that's harder than it seems to me  that's possible but you have true blue Assets in Donald and cup and yeah you want to keep it  together and you want to m
ake your fans think that you're gonna have you know give it a give  it one more run you're not your best bet you know your best possible outcome was your offense is  you know like the the 2020 uh 2021 2022 Rams and you're still probably a 500 team and that's you  know maybe that's good enough to get you into the seventh spot on the wild card but then you're  gonna get your brain beaten on the road in the Wild Card round and so it's like I don't really  understand exactly the point of not going i
nto draft capital accumulation and let's start  bringing in guys who we can develop this year for the future uh and honestly setting yourself  up for a top two pick next year that should be the vision here not let's make one more run at it  in my opinion Stafford is not the long-term answer at quarterback you know that he has meaningful  health questions and I think if you can get a top two pick in next year's draft you can get  a Blue Chip quarterback to build around rebuild is on and I don't k
now why that's not the vision  but it doesn't feel like they're there yet Zephyr well yeah I mean like what do you think that  trade looks like to get that high-end pick then no no I'm saying going into this season  oh like success success should be win three games I'm just not I'm just not used to  them having a first round pick they have yeah they have their friends next year they have their own  first round pick next year it's been a while yeah no I think I mean realistically like do you know
the last time they used their first round pick oh uh it was probably going it was gosh yeah 2016.  2016. holy [ __ ] it's gonna be an eight yard gap between first round picks for them uh and I got a  Super Bowl I don't care yeah absolutely like your fans don't care you sold psls to Sofi like you  got the money like if you you know fans aren't running you out of town fans are more you know  keyed up for Laker season starting than could give a [ __ ] about the Rams so I don't know if  you don't
know if you didn't already know that but uh there's not really a lot of buzz in the  Southern California area for you know professional football franchises and there never has been  and there probably never will be um they cared a lot more about probably seeing intermiami  than they do go on any Rams game this year um I would say that the vision should have been to  you know get what you can get for the guys who are still who still have juice in the tank even though  that means shipping off futu
re Hall of Famers and at Super Bowl MVPs you should have done it and you  should have come into the season with a a little bit more of a war chest of young players who were  not day three picks and you should be angling for uh stocking up in next year's draft which looks  like a pretty good draft especially at the top that's my opinion and for the fact  that you have not recognized and done the self-evaluation to get to  that point yourself you get enough I just hate giving apps I'm too nice giv
e you a d I don't give apps I'm grading on a  curve here's the thing man they set themselves if they if they win six seven eight games this year  which is well within the range of outcomes if they get 16 starts out of Stafford or 17 starts out of  Stafford you've set your rebuild back two years dreams don't give a [ __ ] I mean it seems every  every time we do these previews we talk about 10 teams it's like oh man all they did was like  delay their rebuild teams are so like you you said it perfe
ctly they don't self-evaluate very  few teams do and they don't give a [ __ ] it's gonna be crazy how hard they try to win games  this year they shouldn't I mean even last year granted Levy Smith was in a weird spot but teams  will win games they should not win there's never going to be a greater example of that let's  uh look at who they're gonna play this year the schedule implies seven and a half wins there's a lot of rust disadvantage in there  huh they gotta play four teams coming off bus t
hey do and both of them back to back like  this I feel like I feel like we touched on this briefly during the the episode where we did  the whole schedule like I think this only happens three or four times all year where a team has  to play a team off the buy back-to-back weeks but it happens to the Rams toys for some reason  maybe they're the the league is facilitating a tank trying because that's rough and it's the  worst part is I mean those aren't bad teams Pittsburgh is on the come up Dalla
s is a very good  offense obviously Baltimore has a has put together something and they have an MVP on the roster in  Washington at that point should have McLaurin fully healthy hopefully and you know if Howell has  anything figured out those aren't it's not like oh that's coming off a buy but it's the Texan three  of those teams are good yeah you're right and uh worse real advantages of you know the the your  own buy and then um the Giants must be uh coming off uh some sort of Thursday game the
re yeah you  get a Thursday night or against Mondays although honestly let's be honest are we I mean we're  probably flexing Stetson Bennett versus uh Derek Carr imagining I don't know if that's us that  adds up being the Thursday night game we'll see um there's a lot of travel disadvantage there's  a lot of situational spots where you're at a disadvantage there's a lot of rest disadvantage  this is this schedule is compounding your problems in my opinion um what limited hope you had of  the off
ense looking like a Super Bowl champion offense is fleeting um this is a tough schedule  as as well and you know just outside of travel it's a tough schedule in terms of opponents you  got to play Niners twice you got to play Philly and Dallas so the three best the three best teams  with a bullet in the NFC are on your schedule four times uh you got to play the NFC North which  to me looks like one two three yep four losses um AFC no excuse me you have to play the AFC North  to me which which to
me looks like four losses um I don't think you're necessarily better than  the Giants or keeping up with the Giants uh I don't think you're realistically at an advantage  in any of these games except the two against the Arizona Cardinals maybe a rookie quarterback  uh I mean man you don't even have a ton of rookie quarterbacks here like your defense doesn't  even really have the benefit of going up against the the absolute um you know bumper crop of  young new quarterbacks in the NFL very often
you know we've had a couple teams where  we've been like man you play the rookies you play like five times you play the rookies  and you might even get you know will Levis at some point here they have a ton of experienced  quarterbacks have gone up against and even the inexperienced quarterbacks or players like I get  we can put Jalen Phil Jaylen Phillips Jalen hurts in that category inexperience but it's good  like and you know even it sucks that you know Smith suddenly turned it around like t
hat's  two more games against a decent quarterback um I'd like to play howl earlier in the  season rather than later don't give him time to get comfortable with the offense and  what they're going to do up there with the Enemy he had you know Arizona is week 12. I'm assuming  you have Kyler back who said it's this sucks as far as quarterbacks and you know I talked about  that pass rush not getting right probably if that password doesn't get raped you have a bunch of  young Nez you're leaving out
uh hang out covering covering against all these good quarterbacks  and you know and then you mentioned some of the disadvantages the the quad buys early in the  season the back to back I would assume man just if you play at Cincinnati and then go at Indy the  next week just go spend a week go go look at Isaac Bruce's [ __ ] up in Canton or something yeah  go call who's the is Bo Pelini still coach call one of the Mac teams and just go practice with  them for a week like don't go back to the coa
st honestly that game is the Bellwether for your  entire season that indie game week four tough travel spots that is your your rookie quarterback  that is it's somebody we saw look a little rough last night uh we watched them on Thursday Night  Football if you can't if you can't get your first wins yeah if you can't get your first win week  four it's I mean maybe it's coming back it up yeah but I think I think you start making phone calls  Aaron Donald anyone any interest in a Hall of Famer who'
s still got some left in the tank anyone  anyone um he took good in Philly I was gonna ask you where you would attend in you think Phillip I  would send him to the AFC I guess I don't want to have a you know see them more often than I have  to I definitely wouldn't trade him to Philly before you play Philly week five that would be  something so you know who has a lot of cap space and this is just this is silly but I want to say  it but you could put them next to Miles Garrett they're clearing sp
ace probably because they're  you know this this contract they're gonna need to with uh the Watson contract but the Browns have  a bunch of Catchphrase that cleared up here holy crap that would be can you imagine those two next  to each other gross that's no fun amazing that would be amazing um that side of the line what's  the cap situation with the Chargers like I feel like you do Aaron down all the solid if you don't  even make a move you know he gets to stay in LA Browns actually have the  m
ost cap space right now wow um the Bengals Bengals could probably afford  they got the math magicians over in Cleveland um you mentioned uh adding them to a Bengals  defense it'd be useful for a very good team I'll be honest with you man Aaron Donald is a  potential trade piece wherever he goes is like one of the most interesting subplots if you're  playing Futures markets because I do feel like if that happens that's like a massive needle mover  in terms of equity in turn you know Championship
Equity don't you think you know who makes that  kind of move mid-season that's a such a Rams move it's uh there's no Rams GM DNA around the league  is there oh God you know who has you know who has 20 million and effective cap space the Motor  City kitties oh well now we're talking Hutch comes along a little quicker if you have somebody  banging the middle like that don't hate it let's uh you know who bites kneecaps Andy Aaron Donald  who trains with knives who trains with trying people trying t
o stab him um terrifying individual  clarifying yeah I'll see uh let's see what these betting ads look like for a team we don't oh  look at them right there there he is last last time we could see him in that Jersey before he's  in Cleveland I guess I'm willing it into existence 65 to win when the Super Bowl is not for me NFC  35-1 not for me NFC West 10-1 not for me uh make the playoffs yes plus 285 I'm out no minus 375. so  the Wild Card part of this conversation which we were entertaining as
a thought exercise about  10 minutes ago Andy I'm realizing now through looking at the schedules of the last division  and this is stupid that it always takes actually seeing the schedules and talking it out loud but  the NFC West is kind of kind of kind of [ __ ] playing the NFC east and the AFC North as  your two crossovers we've had this we have this like hey this whole division here this is  going to be a theme like guess what they play the AFC South and they cross over with this  like every
team is going to get these these easy games it's the same with the West  like they have bad crossovers this year they have bad crossovers the uh the NFC East  has bad crossovers relative to last year which was a step forward so uh Saints uh one seed  uh crackers one seed what are we whatever um no and in seriousness though  the Apparently I made that I made that Backpackers Jag Super Bowl apparently  there's one legal book says that at 80 to one whoa buddy I know let's see I have I mean it  doe
sn't like legal accounts just I never go down there anymore I'm not gonna bet that  but if you gave me Packers Jags one seeds now I'm listed um all right so real real in  seriousness though I don't think any of the NSC West teams um at the bottom certainly the two at  the bottom are realistic chances to get the wild cards um I think win total has been bet pretty  aggressively to the under it is at six and a half minus 134. um all unders fine with me I think  there's you know there's a chance her
e that if you don't get a win until mid to late October and  at that point we're selling this thing for parts Ranger outcomes offense if they  are healthy if the offensive line comes together if they're scoring 30  points a game then congratulations you're the eighth or ninth best team in  the conference yes congratulations on your CS congratulations on your six and eleven season  who are you going to take with the number 11 pick yeah absolute ceiling seven wins you know if  everything really ca
me together and they they you know eeked out eight it would just really  really be difficult for me to see them in a position where they're viable for a wild card  like you said so somewhere in the three to six three to seven range and yeah if they shut down  Stafford that range quicksil becomes like three to four yeah yeah because you're starting stepson  Bennett too yeah he's playing big games he's been with some you know some good Georgia teams but yep  for all intents and purposes is pretty
jacked he got drafted to be a backup like that's a good job  uh betting plan of attack uh as long as Stafford is healthy this is a team that I don't mind  looking at their game and playing me over uh as long if the if the offensive line comes together  and performs League average this is a team that I would be like oh they're frisky to come back in a  game because they can definitely uh you know they if they can protect the quarterback Stafford  is a pretty good under pressure anyway he's defini
tely good against the blitz like you're not  necessarily going to get this team off the field uh if you're trying to protect the lead against  them so you know there may be some comeback opportunities there may be some live take the  points with the with the Rams if they're losing um if the offensive line does not come together  then that goes out the window um I would also say that uh no lead is safe when the Rams have  the ball I don't trust cam acres to put away a game on the ground I don't t
rust this defense to  you know get the opponents off the field so Rams with the lead is an aggressive bet against for  me um and uh when it becomes the Stetson Bennett Show then uh we can uh we can we can start  over with our entire concept of this team what's your plan yeah agnostic like you said if  the offensive line plays well enough for cop and the tight end and you're whatever you're going  to get at cam acres to to do anything it's a team that can move the ball but yeah like you said even
if they are leading the the lack of a pass rush is probably going to be oh the other team is just  going to move down the field if they they have to go into Quick you know passing mode here so  no lead is safe uh live overs if this offense is looking good I think okay so to start the season  they got two divisional matchups against the uh Seahawks and the Niners Andy um they're dogs in  both um they have taken money in week one by the way that opened at five and a half it's down to  four and a
half uh four at the circus Sports so somebody who uh frequents the uh the shop in the  desert is especially inclined to bet the Rams um the total uh is come down no it's down it's  come down from 47 to 46 and a half at Circa it's 47 and a half offshore where uh where I play  so not exactly sure why there's a disconnect there this is maybe the only game in the this  is one of two games on the entire slate in week one that I would sincerely consider betting  it over which is to tell you that my g
eneral temperature of the quality of football we're  going to get early in the season is not High um do you think uh Rams are alive against  either the Seahawks or the Niners to start the season because that look ahead line for the  Niners game is like three which seems insane no opinion I don't know and I was just looking  to what limits were like they're still white yeah the limit on a total right now is looking  like a thousand everywhere so maybe uh maybe we'll see a little more movement on
that over  the next time 500 or so Etc let me see yeah it's not very high though you're right um no I I  don't want to be an early adopter on this team I'm interested to see because I've seen that movement  I'm interested to see someone make the case out loud so far it's been people who are putting money  in keeping their mouth shut I guess I guess uh you know truthfully like it depends how much you  think the wide receiver three matters a little it's uh I don't think jsn is going to play for  p
robably the first few weeks you don't just break a bone and see it heal that quickly  it's like that's a that's a problem it is man it's a it's a road game in a tough spot  I don't I don't know if there's still like love about the Rams other than the experience  and maybe you know maybe there's some people really pounding the table for Gina wasn't that  good you know isn't that good uh you're missing basically all the you know all the running  backs have been dinged up at some point you're still
missing some pieces on the defensive  side of the ball you know maybe you're still not stopping the Rams with what you're putting out  there yeah curious to hear someone's thoughts if someone's if someone's a strong ramps  position I think there's some people in the Discord that uh have bet some Rams moneyline  but I guess it's yours yeah that's more of a no if all those things are true then why are we  even taking the points it's a better team I see um yeah I guess I gotta think about that one
some  more uh I had felt like I was so bearish Rams to start the cycle here just because like again last  time I remember this bearish on the Ramsey won the Super Bowl that's a good point I don't think I  don't know but at the same point I mean how many they signed Miller they signed Odell they signed  I feel like there's a third one in there was there a defensive player that they added as well Floyd  that's Miller maybe they just kept signing players uh yeah I really don't remember they  had a
they had an absolutely stacked they were um all right well I mean  I mean realistically they had Andrew Whitworth so they had a bookend to keep that  offensive line that helps he was good yeah all right um next time we'll uh we'll put a bow  on these we are uh if you're keeping track we have uh 30 down two to go I'm excited about  the Niners one and now the more I've talked about Seattle I'm excited to dig a Little Deeper  on a couple of those things especially you know it's it's Unique compare
d to some of the ones we  talked about in July like we're a lot closer to the season with this team and I think there's  a lot of interesting points in the Seahawks so yeah we'll catch you guys on Wednesday that one  will be live the normal time we'll see you at eight Eastern right here on this YouTube channel  if you listen to it in podcast form you know have a cool day whatever it is you're doing check out  check out the next one there'll be more next week foreign
