're doing much better since you guys are um still on the mend I I hopefully better since you guys had coven so Bob please give us some updates uh while we're waiting for Bob to comment here's the new thing that a lot of people in town are talking about um and this was posted this was a post from a person named Robert C on a different page and he mentioned uh and I don't want to really go into all the details here because there's some name calling and that's kind of one of the things that I don't
really like to to get into um but there's some some eyebrows raised in regards to uh the Management Group at the marketplace and uh there's kind of a list going back this person mentions uh the there's there's been uh and I don't I don't want to get into you know egg tossing and all that back and forth stuff essentially what's happening is um cordial seller at the marketplace is closing for good tomorrow uh and this post goes back and kind of mentions um the situation with the music on the pati
o at The Cannery and that was a that was a huge thing a lot of people in the community were non-plussed in regards to that um the marketplace lost the Spice Shop recently uh basically this person is just uh kind of questioning some of the um management decisions over at the marketplace and wondering what's going on there I can reach out to them and see if they will respond with any information or feedback uh when the Cannery situation happened when the music was canceled at The Cannery uh the th
e music on the patio at The Cannery I'm sure there's a lot of people who remember that [Music] um a situation and and how that happened there were not a lot of there were none there were no comments from the management at the marketplace at that point I think perhaps there's uh some learning curve happening at the marketplace and hopefully there will be um new Merchants uh Oaktown spice left recently they will be replaced by a um oh gosh what is the name of the it's a it's a Sherry I can't think
of it uh they're gonna be replaced by a different business that will be sharing um selling sweets uh but I think you know with with such a huge huge project like the marketplace I think there's going to be a learning curve finding out which businesses are going to fit at the marketplace which ones are going to do well with the clientele here in Castro Valley so I think um uh Randall says the gourmet shop on Castro Valley Boulevard and Center is stocking the shelves that's good news thank you Ra
ndall uh there you go you have some hot news right there from Randall uh the gourmet shop uh on Castro Valley Boulevard and Center is not at as we speak stocking the shelves so hopefully that business will be opening soon but with that said there is uh quite a bit of criticism going on in regards to the castle Valley Marketplace um there's there's been some businesses leaving and I think you know with something that is that significant with so many Merchants there I think I think some of that's
going to be expected but um all you have to do is I mean we posted something about cordial seller um going out of business as of this Wednesday which was kind of out of nowhere um unexpected um but there is uh quite a bit of folks who are um just kind of wondering what may be happening with the management there um but hopefully uh good things will happen continue to happen yes Kathy thank you um Crossroads specialty Market they will be they are stocking their shelves we've got a call from Bob le
t's talk to Bob hi hey Bob how are you sir [Applause] we all love you Bob I came down with cold symptoms sure enough there were the two red lines I am got several I am overweight I am oh I am 72 years old let's go it's not something that I could take uh lightly uh good actors got me back to the list after a couple days of that I felt fine because it's clear and the last season oh no and there's not much you can do about it it's common it's not like the reinfection is just but uh you know actuall
y there's still someone experimental maybe I should have taken it for seven days about five days or whatever and uh after five days of that even though you still test positive closely go out I feel better now people uh make sure that I'm not testing positive because I don't wanna spread it to anybody else my wife on the other hand she's sleeping fine she got it just after three or four days five minutes [Music] I was to uh spend the weekend with my daughter and someone on Mancus and Seattle coul
d play some School concerts like that so I had to post from that trip but uh people are asking hopefully you know financially at least in the past memories absolutely not absolutely so so you're so you're clear of symptoms now did I hear that correct that's good goes away so I'm not really so overall I fully vaccinated kind of almost no case of women yeah it's scary so overall you had symptoms for how long it was pretty much gone and then it started again last Saturday and today's the first day
so it was pretty harmful a couple three days first time a couple few days I did some strange things when you have the rainfalls right no no that great thing is real it's amazing it's wild orange coal they ever had a question wrote it like that it's a lot of congestion so but I I do appreciate Community a lot of people offer to help a good friend of mine together maybe I'll meet you yeah was it was it difficult to get Pax loaded did you ask for it did the doctor just volunteer and say hey we're g
onna we're gonna prescribe this for you okay well you know what they have said if you watch all that he has is tested yeah you should have a plan and I thought okay well I'll have a plan so um my doctors are with the Stanford group unless they're building over by three crosses and they have a Express Care in there and so I tested positive in the morning and immediately a problem with the video across is one of their doctors and they had all my records I just said okay here's your situation I wou
ld like this caveats because it's still you know a test thing and people they want that you don't want to think of that one correct way I qualified for a number of reasons being awake because without anybody who qualifies or something but after changes is kind of funny but it wasn't horrible uh people so one of my daughters [Music] not have to deal with this a long term or you know have lots of course so Hannah that's the positive number of something so again but the trust here you know went onl

se folks are getting a little bit more sophisticated they're not just sending you the scam and the email because a lot of times you'll just get an email that says um uh you've made this purchase with us please click this link to respond this is I got it I gotta tell you I'm a little bit impressed with this because these people are attaching PDFs of an invoice however you know this raises a red flag because there's typos in it of course um of course it actually has an invoice number 560405 the da
te of course was when they sent it to me uh the bill to was me of course uh but this says a Bitcoin purchase successful at coinbase I don't make any purchases with Bitcoin first red flag can't see the payment in your account you don't need to worry sometimes it just takes a few minutes for it to appear so please be patient uh second red flag that they're trying to tell you they're trying to get ahead of you and tell you that your purchase is pending um Connie welcome to the show Connie just sent

in this invoice we would like to point out that if this transaction was not made by you you should contact our customer support Executives for any help you may need and uh another red flag for you guys is PayPal would probably tell you to log into your account and check your account first if you had made a purchase that they were looking for so there's your I know third or fourth or fifth red flag and I love sharing these scams because maybe I'm kind of wacky but they're amusing to me because t

e always odd numbers it's never nine thousand dollars it's never four thousand dollars it's always 345 dollars and 10 cents this one here is 611.14 so I I I really love receiving these because I love debunking them and I love um I love dissecting them finding out the the fakie stuff in here and also if you're calling don't call this number that's what they want you to do they want to get you on the phone and scare you and tell you oh my goodness uh there's been a purchase of 611 but there was ju
st a purchase of four thousand dollars we need this we need that and it's it's it's it's BS it's pure BS uh we've got some comments in regards to scams here Connie says her favorites are the ones who leave her voicemails telling her that she must contact them immediately to settle her account before her social security number is deactivated those circulate so many times there's also the voicemails where people are saying um we are the police we are going to um suspend your driver's license becau
se you have tickets or you owe this parking ticket or you do this so many of those circulate um let's see uh Randall brings up another one there were four uh Beverages and More were proposed at the doctor go there you know what uh this was not my week for uh the Midway giveaway but I'm glad we got a winner and uh we had some fun guessing about that thank you Randall I appreciate that uh there's two that I missed but we'll uh next week's Midway will be much better uh Maggie says one of her client
s lost ten thousand dollars with the scam and that's that's the thing with these scams I have I have some more scams and what I'm going to save those for next week because we're we're in overtime right now but I definitely wanted to um Cruise back a little bit and talk more about these scams and I try to mention this every single week is these scams are designed to make you fearful and frightened and one of the things that really pisses me off I'm sorry one of the things that really infuriates m
e when it comes to these scams is a lot of the scammers these people Target seniors who are very worrisome and panic more and it's terrible that they use these tactics to scare seniors and just people in in general so one of the biggest red flags to to look for is things that are going to be um things that are definitely going to make you fearful so of course if you see a purchase that you didn't make that immediately triggers you makes you fearful but a good thing to do is to keep a cool head a
nd if it says it's PayPal and you have a PayPal account log into your PayPal check your accounts see what purchases you've you have made if there are any purchases that are not authorized things that you haven't made contact PayPal directly through their website and in addition to that serene's got to go thank you for joining us Serene Serene says she's impressed with the gift cards and all the local businesses uh know this took a lot of work it does take a bit of work to prepare for the show an

ervice person with the official agency through their website that way if you receive a text from someone saying that they're with the DMV or a sheriff that's going to arrest you call the local agency directly not through a link that is in that text or a link that's in an email or a phone number that's in the email do a little bit of due diligence and look up their physical phone number on their website call them directly so that you will not fall prey for these scams Kimberly says I think you sh
