A small conversation like that talking to someone else in their own language might not seem like that big of a deal. But I have been absolutely shocked at how big of an impression it leaves on people and how long they remember you. It's been a year since I've been here. Over a year. Probably almost a year and a half. I can't believe they still remember me at that restaurant. That's crazy! And they were nice too. They were like "Oh I remember you. You talked to me." That's awesome. Leave an impre
ssion for sure. Even years after you're gone. You haven't been back to the place and they still remember you. That blows my mind. Wow, I need a picture with you. Ok, let's get a picture. Hey! Ok, now I don't know. I got a picture with some famous person. I just know. Now you're gonna be a new subscriber right? Yeah, I'll definitely subscribe. No it's perfect. Well there's your Oh, really? Ok, I can't wait to see myself in the video. You might. You might just. It's very possible. Very good conten
t. Good content. Thanks. You've only bee studying Korean for like half a second. And you're already like actually I'm cold actually I'm a youtuber. Yeah, liked I picked that up. I'm working hard on it. I was supposed to be studying Korean today and I'm passing out candy and freezing my butt off. That's what we do. Do you want to learn another language too? Use the same exact tools that I used to learn Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and now Vietnamese through the POD101 series. I love their website f
or memorizing new vocabulary and improving my listening skills. You can also sign up for group lessons and get your very own teacher through the link in the description. Check it out today. Very sweet. Surprisingly very sweet. I like it. Like I've said before I've never caught anyone saying anything negative about me. Not that it doesn't happen or it's never happened, or hasn't happened to other people but I've never had that experience. It's usually just curiosity. And even if people aren't so
surprised on the outside sometimes they'll talk to somebody else about it. Thank you. Thanks sir. How about I give you my card. Anming yeah. Where are you from? India. Inda ok. Where in India? North or South? Middle. In the middle. Pearl. There it is. Oh, you should subscribe. There. Ok, thank you. Plus one subscriber. Ok. Now that guy's subscribed, but how about you? Make sue you subscribe too. Chitan!

@OrientalPearl

I can't stress how much having a teacher has helped with my language learning. Don't do this on your own! Sign up for group classes here: Japanese: https://www.japanesepod101.com/member/go.php?r=810124&l=%2F Chinese: https://www.chineseclass101.com/member/go.php?r=453861&l=%2F

@joyd77

An American who can speak fluent Japanese, Chinese, Korean. I want to be an Asian who can speak fluent English, Portuguese, Spanish

@glengamble526

The foot bath ‘side-eye’ girl is hilarious! 😂

@musingsofatradwife

Thank you for showing us it IS possible for native English speakers to get a grasp on Asian languages.

@jerometsowinghuen

Many foreigners and Japanese locals are surprised/impressed with your four language speaking, Miss Alyssa, which feels comfortable to be part of the community.

@nikkitea7061

“She’s smart”. “No, that’s not true” I love your humbleness even though you unlocked the trifecta of Asian languages (Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese). To put it into perspective, you can speak to 35% of the population in Asia (China, Japan, South Korea).

@metacob

The thing that amazes me isn't even the languages. As an introvert with some social anxiety, the ease with which you communicate with strangers is just crazy.

@karltorento3358

I'm just so amazed at the depth of your vocabulary and the way you can easily construct sentences on the fly with both languages! People say you're smart, and of course, there's no doubt about that; I believ, however, that your hard work and persistence make 90% of your fluency. And these traits are evident in your videos! Keep up the good work and hopefully we'll see you in Japan when we visit in October-November :)

@elteescat

You make me want to dive into my books and study my Japanese harder. Lol

@Orblinkluv

I'm always scared to talk in the languages I've learned in fear of being judged, but the truth is most people are so kind when you try to speak their language. In all my years of speaking more than 1 language only like 1 or 2 people have actually been rude to me about speaking that language. They were the outliers. Most people were so friendly & appreciative even when i felt like I wasn't doing well enough. I'm really grateful for their encouragement.

@krisfrederick5001

I love your balance between humor and humanity.

@bettydavis7359

Of course the ladies remembered you because you leave a great impression with whom ever you meet. You’re so friendly & relatable 😊

@mortenrl1946

I totally agree with the learning of local languages. It makes a huge difference. My personal cheat code is to learn the local equivalent of "bro" wherever I go, and use it with a disappointed face when someone tries to scam me on my travels. Usually triggers embarassment and release of withheld return change. "Hello" helps a lot too!

@Sanoske7

I used to work in a hotel and had a Japanese family visit. The grandma didn't know any English and the little bit of Japanese I knew made her excited for me. She gifted me a handkerchief from Japan. Best interaction ever! Still waiting for my long overdue honeymoon to be there 😊

@bex6638

I love that you turned that guy hitting on you into a subscriber. You are my hero.

@caddyb1519

I cannot imagine how special it feels to connect with people like you do! It's like magic, I hope I can learn Spanish soon!

@peter7624

Speaking to someone in their mother tongue is an expression of your respect for their culture. Great that you speak all these languages, respect to you!

@tsuobachi

You aren't just studying international relations, you're performing them every day.

@vincenteng7473

Love how you can speak Chinese and then Japanese without pausing. I enjoy watching your videos.

@insomnium0

Man I find myself laughing when Im watching these videos. People seem so warm and delighted. Good stuff.
