major cellular outage is being reported Nationwide the tracking website downdetector.com is reporting more than 32,000 outages for AT&T customers we're also hearing reports of customers with AT&T are struggling to call 911 and that is a problem that's not good all right more than 800 outages also reported for Verizon and T-Mobile users it's unclear what caused this outage there has been no word yet from any of these major cellular cellular networks did you have a problem this morning Pete welcom
e great to be here I did not notice it but a lot of people have yeah and it's Coast to Coast it's not the kind of thing was Just Happening Here in New York apparently reports Arts all the way to La maybe International too we don't know uh I I see uh La Dallas Atlanta San Diego San Antonio Chicago San Francisco and Honolulu so what about Surfside Beach in South Carolina Lawrence pul the audience ask for the hands if anybody's having a cell phone problem yeah let's ask the folks here okay who's ha
ving cell phone issues here today who has AT&T raise your hand AT&T cell phone issue what about Verizon who's having some Verizon issues today okay yep so pretty much everyone guys is having the same issues thank God for the Wi-Fi network cuz that's what we're using yeah I was going to say because it's the data uh Lexi our assistant she came in this morning and she said my data's not working but when I get to Fox and I turn it on Wi-Fi my phone works now that's exactly right they can em they can
I think they can make emergency phone calls but they're not able to make just general phone calls to family so you got a lot of folks getting up for school taking their kids out and uh hopefully we can get control of this situation real fast yeah we're trying to call some people to find out what's going on but there apparently there's a cell phone problem so we're going to we're going to be working on this this hour because people are getting up they want to know the news and if your phone does
n't work you're pretty much cut off that's the beauty of cable TV your alarm does work though I was like Lexi how'd you get up this morning she said my alarm my alarm was working but this is how addicted we are to our phones everyone is so yeah got everyone's freaking out because this morning it's not working yeah I have to be honest I I got up this morning the phone is not working I go I know I've been on the road a lot did I forget to pay my bill like is something not going like and I was like
okay I got automatic payment on that so that's good uh but everybody's experiencing the same issue yeah and we're going to get to the bottom of it in everything but if there's there were a Cyber attack or a satellite malfunction even a major solar FL if cell phones went out give it 3 hours give it 12 hours give it 24 hours and and a lot of things change in our the country would be brought to its knees massive vulnerability absolutely I'm Steve duy I'm Brian K and I'm Angley aart and click here

@ryanlyle9201

I was wondering why people were actually driving decently this morning. No cell phones lol

@TheChrisLewisss

We need an emergency alternative to cell phones. This is kinda of scary how fast things can just stop working! Landlines need to make a comeback

@SeanSpencerr

This is EXACTLY how an adversarial nation would assess their cyber capabilities prior to…

@mateosmithy5668

To think just 15 years ago society seemed better without cell phones; today, we’re all so ridiculously dependent on them.

@vertilingo

Notice they didn't mention the REASON the system is down across companies

@michaelolin2219

I’ve always looked at cell phones as a convenience, but times have changed. Paying bills, communication with my employer, setting up doctors appointments, etc… we’ve become entirely to dependent on technology.

@AndreaDoesYoga

A wake-up call to diversify our networks.

@chloesbigadventure

Wake up Americans....Some of us know what this is!!!

@gloryinfinita5380

The nation really needs to increase their security. First we had spy balloons a few months ago and now this other test run. We need a president that puts the welfare the American citizens and the security of the country first. We don't need someone who opens the borders to millions of drifters who have no allegiance to this country and have not even had a full background check. Please vote during November.

@joshua00022

I guess I'll pretend its the 90s and go outside today.

@franksplace9589

Welcome back to the 80s and 90s. People better learn how to survive without those phones and have a plan in place

@cook4470

Haha, I see a few scattered hands raise, and our host tells us "pretty much everyone is having issues." Problem with our news: Exhibit A.

@Dfgbuiiyyyybb

So now imagine for a minute in the future when your "self driving car" that relies on a cellular network to function gets hit with an outage...

@dominicm2175

It’s not a ‘cellular’ outage, it’s a fiber optic cable outage….people don’t realize that every carrier shares the same fiber infrastructure

@hecrod780

Makes sense. I’m in Texas and haven’t had service for hours now drove across Arkansas and it went out. I’m on Wi-Fi, but this is crazy. Phone is on SOS mode.

@creampuff6864

2 Cans and a string. My network never goes down:)

@BlackYellow07

To make up for the cost, all customers will be charged extra to cover the cost. Sounds about right.

@tmgha6876

Y’all don’t even know the hell cell phone reps are going to go through today. Every Karen out there will be threatening to get reps fired today if they can’t get the phone back online IMMEDIATELY. I’m so glad I retired from retail on days like today!

@EternalEventE

I don't understand why they are downplaying this... this is not thousands of issues... it's tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people not being able to use their phone. Seems like something more serious is happening.

@merdelune9

That’s why I don’t ever want to get rid of my land line.
