this week threw us plenty of curveballs leading up to the sun bowl so a crazy rainstorm on game day is basically expected right central michigan arrived to el paso less than 24 hours before kickoff hoping to pull off what would be a pretty big upset over pac-12 for washington state most importantly the game returned after a one-year absence due to covet 19. the cougars coming into this game as seven-point favorites we started off in the first quarter it was all central michigan cmu up 6-0 to sta

as one of their players put it they didn't want to be seen as the little brother you know for us it's about making it sustainable um it's about letting the people know in our conference that you know it isn't just going to be a walk over when they play central they better strap it up and we're going to be there to play i feel like our mindset going into it changed because we felt like they picked us and they picked us out as far as they they knew that they were going to be beat us so we took tha
t as the mindset to we're going to come here and like we're going to show you you're not just going to pick us out just think they're like we're the little brother so we just came out here we played our game and i mean we showed what happened now after the game obviously you saw the washington state players walking off the field pretty dejected definitely because their comeback fell a little bit short but also a first half they wish they could have back for sure not a lot of time to prepare for
a new opponent and it definitely hurt wazoo well i think it affected quite a bit you know it kind of just put us back into you know quick game mode you know we had to kind of flip everything get their film change everything that we're doing you know you we prepared for you know the other opponent for four weeks i'm really proud of my teammates i can more grateful for them always making me better every single day i can't thank them enough i just wish we could have finished a little bit better now
