Now, before we get to polishing, let's chat a little bit about how to get beautiful healthy nails and how to maintain them in between our manicures. We all need a healthy nail as a starting point, whether you have natural nails or prefer to wear nail enhancements. Back in 2013, VINYLUX was launched as the first long wear polish system. you, go with symmetry. Your nails are going to look the most balanced and natural if your free edge mirrors the shape of your cuticle line. So, a round cuticle line? Round your nails. A square cuticle line, square your nails. Also keep in mind your lifestyle and how much time you have to maintain a certain shape or length. So, for instance, if you tend to be more active with your nails, or maybe you need a shape or length that doesn't require as much maintenance, a long stiletto might not be yo
ur go-to. So, the best way to achieve your ideal shape is by choosing the best tools for the job. And, when filing the natural nail, we highly recommend using a nail file with a fine grit. So, too heavy or rough of a grit can result in tearing or shredding of the nail plate And that's going to lead to nail breakage. So here's a little pro tip. The higher the number, the finer the grit. The lower the number, the more abrasive the grit. So CND, we have two excellent options for natural nail refini
ng, which is the KANGA FILE. So the KANGA FILE is a wooden-cored file, It's thin. It's perfect to get into tight corners, and has a 240 grit on each side. And then we have the KOALA BUFFER. It's a cushioned buffer, and it has a 240 grit on one side and then the other side with the logo is a 1200 smoothing buffer. Both perfect for natural nail refinement and reshaping. So, let's get started into our manicure. My nails are already clean, and you want to make sure that prior to doing your own nails
, you give them a thorough cleaning with soap and water. And, be sure to remove any past polish with OFFLY FAST. So, because I've been super active with my hands lately, a short square is what I'm successful at wearing right now. But trust me, I love a long pointed almond. So I intend on keeping this shape as of right now, but I'm going to show you how you can quickly clean it up just a little bit with your KANGA FILE. So, going in one direction, you want to make sure that you're not sawing back
and forth That can create a little bit of damage to your nails, it can create shredding. So, make sure you go in one direction. You can do a little bit of the corners, if needed. And you want to do that on all ten fingers. And once you're happy with your shape, I also like to take a wooden stick and just make sure all of any file skirt is removed underneath. So we can do that. And then next, we're going to do a dry manicure by pushing the surrounding skin, which is our eponychium, back. So, I'm
going to take my metal pusher here, and you'll notice how I keep it parallel to my nail plate. And I do a gentle little nudge of that skin. So this skin right here, it's alive, and it's called the eponychium. So we're just going to push that back. And we're going to do that on all five nails. And because this tissue is live, if I were to cut it, or perhaps, damage it, I could cause bleeding or damage to my skin, And repeated damage to this particular area can encourage unhealthy nails to develo
p. We need this skin intact and healthy to help seal and protect each one of our nails from harmful pathogens. When we lift and push that eponychium back, we're going to reveal some more of the nail plate and also some sticky, flakey cuticle. So using this little curette here, I'm going to go in light, circular motions and this is going to help lift and loosen any of that sticky cuticle that's on my nail plate. That cuticle is dead tissue, so it can be fully removed. And we want to make sure tha
t we're being gentle with ourselves when doing so If it hurts, stop. Move away from it, and continue to another nail. Leaving any of this sticky cuticle on the nail plate would impede any adhesion for any of our nail coatings. And today we're using VINYLUX So we want to make sure our VINYLUX stays really adhered well to our nails we want to make sure we remove all of that sticky cuticle. Next, once we're happy with our nail shape and the length and that cuticle care that we've done, we're going
to thoroughly cleanse our nail and, using CND SCRUB FRESH we can ensure that we are cleansing and dehydrating all at the same time. So, before we get into that, let's cleanse our nails really well. Before we get into polishing, I should say. We're going to cleanse our nails and this is going to super dehydrate the nail a little bit and of course, as we mentioned, keeping that palette nice and clean for a flawless polish application. So now, once we've cleansed our nail, we'll be ready to polish.
But before we do that, let's take a look at our newest color options. Now that we've thoroughly cleansed and dehydrated our nail using CND SCRUBFRESH, we're going to get into the finishing off of our manicure. I'm going to use our newest color, Ro-Mani-Cize, from Across The Mani-verse. This color is super gorgeous. It's one of my favorites. I've also removed one of my coatings on my dominant hand. I want to show you a little technique that I do to polish my dominant hand, because I am right-han
ded. And I know, polishing our own hands, it might be easy to do one hand, and maybe not the other, right? So, using a 5-point polish method, I'm going to polish my nails, but I also want to show you this curve-hugging brush. So the curvature of this brush, we're going to utilize that because we're going to work smarter, not harder, right? So keep that in mind, and you're going to notice the positions of my bristles and how that curvature really helps with our application process. Also keep in m
ind, again, that CND VINYLUX is a two-part system. My nails are in pretty great condition, as you can see. So I don't need any camouflaging of any sorts, but, if I was a person that maybe had some ridging on my nails or my nails were peeling, instead of buffing all of that down and ruining the integrity of my nails, or thinning my nail plate out, because, right? We want to keep the integrity and the thickness of our nails, I'm going to use CND RIDGEFX. So, RIDGEFX is a nail surface enhancer. So
it enhances the bottom of the nail and Sorry, the nail plate. So it gives it almost like this camouflaging effect to it It also fills in those ridges, if I were to have any. So, here's another little myth buster. Some people may think that, "oh I've got to file those ridges down to make them even to my nail plate." But, what ends up happening is you actually thin the nail plate even more because those ridges are where your nail plate is naturally sitting. It's not creating a bump. It's actually
creating a valley. So, filing that ridge out thins it out too much, ruins the integrity of your nail. Leave them alone and fill them either with an enhancement you can use this nail surface enhancer, RIDGEFX. It works in partnership with CND VINYLUX, because remember, for VINYLUX, we don't need a base coat. But if you do need one because you have a damaged nail, RIDGEFX works in partnership with VINYLUX So you can do one very thin coat of that on your nails after cleansing. So now, polishing my
dominant hand, in that 5-point polish method, I'm going to seal my free edge first. And doing this systematic polish method is going to create a consistent application So I'm going to, remember, keeping my hand still and steady on my table, as well as the hand that I'm polishing with, use and utilize that brush to shimmy up to that cuticle line. Notice how my bristles spread apart. And I'm going to rotate my dominant hand versus moving my brush hand all around. And follow all the way through. Yo
u can do the same thing on the other side if it's easier to keep your hand on the table. And I know you can't see it, but my forearm is, on both hands, completely flat on the table. Next, we'll do our second layer. And I'm just going to grab a little bit of polish on my brush same strokes, and we're all set with our second layer. Let's go on to our other hand, and I do prefer to do my dominant hand first, just fyi. I find it's a little bit easier in meaning that, sometimes we get one hand done w
e might get lazy on the other one. And it's better to get as perfect as you can on your dominant hand because it's easier to do, obviously your non-dominant hand. So again, that systematic method. We're going to seal our free edge. And the reason why we seal our free edge, is because we're washing dishes, right? We're doing laundry, we're cleaning the house, and if we didn't seal that free edge, we're going to experience chipping, peeling, and wearing away from that free edge, which is going to
make our manicure look worn quicker than we want it to. So again, we seal that free edge first. Notice how I have my hand positioned now. I'm going to have my pinky as my balance point. So balancing, sealing that free edge, grabbing a little bit more polish on my brush, halfway down the center. Notice my bristles spread apart. Full contact, and all the way through. Pull my skin on one side and full contact all the way through. And I'll do the same thing on the other side of the nail. So I'm real
ly utilizing the curvature of this brush and I also want you to notice that I'm going to show you this on the side. So I sealed my free edge So from the side you can see this. Notice how my bristles are flat down and then we will go up to our cuticle line, all the way down. And same thing on the other side. Now that was only using tips of the brush I'm going to create brush strokes in there, as well as little demarcation marks using a frosted color or a shimmery color. Using just the tips, we're
constantly stroking, stroking, stroking. I'm going to get wavy demarcation lines and I don't want that. I want this to look like a professional job, right? So we'll do this again on the other fingers and finish up our first layer of color. Once you finish up your first layer, you would obviously go on to your second hand And by the time you get back to your first hand, it's dry enough to apply that second layer. So there is our first layer of color. You might not get pigment or full color cover
age and that's okay. We're not really looking for that yet. It's in the second layer that you want full coverage. So we're going to go in and do our second layer of color and I don't need to seal my free edge this time because I did it with that first layer. We don't want to make that super bumpy at the top either. So again, balance your pointer, I mean your pinky. And the same methods. This polish method also makes your polishing fast because you're consistently doing the same thing on every si
ngle nail. So following that pattern is going to increase your speed in polishing. And we can let this dry for just a moment before I put top coat on. Now, if you did get anything on your skin, use a wood stick and just gently pull it away. You can also take a little nail art brush, or even dip your wood stick into a little bit of acetone to help remove any of your polish on the skin, if you got any. So there's your first layer of color. And again, that was Ro-Mani-Cize. And, before we get into
our top coat, I want to talk about a quick little thing because nail art is obviously so big, it's aways big, right? VINYLUX makes nail art super easy because it's fast-drying. And, right now, minimalistic nail art is super big and why not? Let's do a little bit. So I'm going to use one of our new colors called HAZY GAMES. I'm just going to dispense a little bit onto a palette here. And using that same wood stick or if you have a toothpick, or anything with a sharp little point, we're going to d
o some nail art. I love minimalistic nail art. It can really give just enough of a pop and, I'm going to create just little dots here, and go out into size. So bigger at the bottom to smaller You don't need to do it on every nail The other little thing I love right now is just a cute little, simple smiley face. So we'll give this a quick minute to dry. So cute! And while that is drying, let's clean up our palettes I want to show you some of our new colors in live action, right? So we just saw HA
ZY GAMES. This is one layer of HAZY GAMES. So here's HAZY GAMES in its bottle. HAZY GAMES And let's do a second layer of this. This color is like a smokey grey purple. It's a great transition color from like grey and gloomy winter to bright and cheerful spring. When I first saw this color, this absolutely reminded me of that saying where March comes in like a lamb...I'm sorry...comes in like a lion and out like a lamb because it's that great transition shade. So, again, that's HAZY GAMES. And, o
f course, right now we are using RO-MANI-CIZE. which is obviously one of my faves. It has that shimmery pink purple it. It's like a rosy mauve. Another great transition shade. So here's the second layer of that Imagine this in the sun. Those little sparkles and shimmers would show up amazingly. You can see it under camera showing up. And then, one of my other favorite colors, because it's super unique, is CHIC-A-DELIC. This color is so cool. You can see already in the first layer that almost lik
e fluorescent chrome effect and you can see it here. Look at that popping out right there. So awesome, so amazing. Again, that's CHIC-A-DELIC. And we'll pop our second layer of this on here. It's a lilac purple with a pink-y purple chrome effect to it. So if you're into chrome nails but don't want to use chrome pigment, loose pigment, you can definitely use this color. It will give you that same vibe. Another awesome shimmery color is our HIPPIE-OCRACY. This is a light blue with an even lighter
blue shimmer frost to it. That's HIPPIE-OCRACY. And we'll add a second layer here. This color reminds me of Elsa from Frozen, or even, Cinderella's dress. You can see that shimmer just poking out there Think of that in the sun. Great toe color. And then we have CHAR-TRUTH, which is our lemon-y yellow. Super bright. CHAR-TRUTH. This almost reminds me of yellow Peeps. You know, those marshmallow treats. I don't know why, but when I saw this color, I was like, "Ooo, Peeps!" Just made me think of t
hat. And it has this little frost to it So you can see how it already looks shiny without a top coat on it because it has that frost to it. Then we have our color DAYDREAMING. So DAYDREAMING is our peachy cream color. It's a great match for Pantone Color of The Year. That's what we have here. And it's an opaque peach cream Another perfect color for the entirety of the spring. Look at that. So gorgeous. So, which one of these is your favorite color from our newest collection? And, obviously you don't have to wait as long as we just did but I wanted to show you all of that. Because by the time we did our second layer on one hand, we go to the next hand. We'll be able to come back and do our top coat on the other hand and it'll be fine. You do want to give it another minute just because we don't want to pull our color with our top coat. So keep that i
n mind. And we have two top coat options for you. So both of our top coats, doesn't matter which one -- if you use LONG WEAR SHINE TOP COAT or GEL LIKE EFFECT TOP COAT You're still going to get that ProLight Technology So the longer that you wear your VINYLUX manicure, the more durable it's going to become They're both going to still offer you that 7-day high shine and protective coating and they both dry fast and remove easily with OFFLY FAST. So I'm going to use our LONG WEAR SHINE TOP COAT. A
nd I do want to show you the GEL LIKE EFFECT TOP COAT and tell you the differences for them too. So GEL LIKE EFFECT, which is what I have right now, gives our nails...oops, I smudged my nail a little bit... That's all right. It gives our nails this plumping action, almost like you're wearing gel polish. And again, if you get anything on the skin, you just want to clean it up with a wood stick. And this is going to give us that effect like I have gel polish on my nails. So it plumps the nail, giv
es it a little volume, LONG WEAR SHINE TOP COAT, which is our original top coat, it's not going to give you that full plumping action, but still gives you that super high shine, super protective top coat. Again, we're sealing that free edge. And then we can do all five. And once you're happy with everything being top coated, you can let this dry for a good eight minutes. and, because, remember it's super fast-drying. So take a load off, relax with your favorite drink, maybe even just scroll thro
ugh your favorite social media, scroll through the CND World social media account @cndworld on Instagram, hit some likes on your favorite nails that you see on there. Again, that's @cndworld on Instagram. And while that is drying, if you're like me, you may have a hard time sitting to let your nails dry. So here's another little pro tip. Take your CND SOLAROIL. Here's another usage for your oil. Okay? So remember we've already found multiple usages of our oil This is great to maintain our manic
ure It's great to help remove our polish, right? So it's not getting stuck in all those dry little tidbits of our nails and our skin And if you want your nail polish to dry super quick, Add a little bit to that cuticle line. You want to make sure that you give your nails just a minute to dry before you do this Put it all on that cuticle line and then just let it drip down So kind of have your hands like this. It will travel all the way down. It helps to speed up the drying process. So here's ano
ther myth I want to bust for you, because, especially with VINYLUX, right... So we were talking about this ProLight Technology that VINYLUX has It's using natural light to fully dry our nails. So that whole blowing on your nails and waving at them or shaking them to dry them faster...that's a myth. That is not going to help your VINYLUX dry faster. The only thing that's going to help dry it faster is waiting that good eight minutes letting the natural light hit it so it dries. The SOLAROIL trick
I just showed you...sit back, relax and let it do its job to dry fully so you don't smudge your nails. So there's your manicure. Let's take a minute to do a little Q&A. urized. So there's no more overly dehydrated nails after removal. So here's a little pro tip for you. Have you ever had, maybe a dark nail polish color...especially red and when you go to take your polish off, half of that color gets trapped either around the edges of the nail or underneath, and all over your skin. Nine times our of 10, it's because of the removal product that you're using and also that your skin and your nails are super dry. So you can see I already have oil from applying but i
f you don't, you want put some SOLAROIL on Here's another way that SOLAROIL is super beneficial. So we'll put it on and then we are saturating our pad with our OFFLY FAST. And we will place our pad onto our nail. Let it sit for just like a couple of seconds. Massage and wipe off. And it comes off super quick. Now, this is a great trick too, if you have glitter polish on. So remember, hold the pad down just for a few seconds, let that OFFLY FAST travel down... remember VINYLUX is breathable, so
OFFLY FAST is able to travel down super quick and we can remove our manicure just super easy. So hold it, and massage it. Let me get a better position here. And because we have that SOLAROIL, it's easy to slide right off. We're holding and sliding. Now remember, we just applied this manicure. But if you had this manicure for quite a few days, 7+ days... You might notice that it takes a little bit more energy to get it off. Hold it just for a couple more seconds, massage, and it will glide right
off super quick and easy And then once you are done, you can cleanse your nail with SCRUBFRESH again and go do your manicure, and cleanse again, and put your new color on. Or if you just want to rock out a bare naked manicure, add your CND CUTICLE ERASER to slough off any dry dead skin and partner it with your CND SOLAROIL to keep everything supple. Massage it all in and you will be good to go with nice, healthy, supple, moisturized nails and skin. So notice, when I remove too, nothing was dehyd
rated. Another awesome component to OFFLY FAST. And our manicure is done! What I'm seeing here are perfectly maintained nails.
