-Latif?
-Yeah? Welcome in Bodélé. Wow, it kind of just looks
like everything else. My name is Latif Nasser.
I'm a science reporter. Oh, wow. And this is a show about
the astonishing connections all around us, connections between you
and me and our world that'll make you see that world
in a whole new way. Very important question. Does the Queen's poop come through here? It has a flag on it,
so we salute as she comes through. NUKES - DUST SURVEILLANCE - POOP - DIGITS - CLOUDS How is the cloud abov
e your head connected to the cloud
that stores your data? How can an obscure mathematical law
help make sense of your favorite song? -Benford's law--
-Benford's law-- Could you Benford Beyoncé? -If anything does work then it probably--
-Is Beyoncé. How does the dust of the Sahara Desert nourish the Amazon rainforest? There's an elevator right? I was really excited. We think we understand a lot, but there are so many questions
still open. That is crazy. A single Google search
takes the same amoun
t of energy as a standard LED light bulb on
for 3 minutes. That's some mind-blowing... This is a show about our dynamic
yet precarious planet from an electronic country, to tiny killers you can see
from outer space, shark-proof garden hoses,
detecting potential tsunamis. What we need is nothing short
of a global brainstorm. CONNECTED

That is me at 0:47 talking about Benford's Law. The scene was filmed in the town square in Stresa, Italy at the second Benford's Law conference on 10-12 July, 2019. Speaking at the conference were all the heavyweight researchers in the field including Ted Hill, Arno Berger, and Steven Miller. The film crew followed us for two days including this one with me at the town square. I can't wait to see the episode!
Netflix is like the Teacher who gives you assignments everyday when you're still trying to complete that 2 months old assignment.
the 3rd episode- Dust is absolutely fascinating. Bravo to all of the people who had a hand in it!
Now that looks like a documentary well worth watching!
Everything is connected...
This quarantine is made much happier by Netflix.
Netflix is making us smarter while still keeping us dumb.
Hey, I just wanna say how wonderful your series is. It has restored my faith in all of us being able to overcome the morass the world faces on numerous fronts. Your commentary is engaging, compelling and shines a positive light on both the advances that have led us to where we are, but also the inspiring history of doers that have enabled all of us to think and act in ways to solve the challenges we face. Thank you again for such an inspiring and illuminating series.. : )
Love “ Connected” . So mind blowing. Great information. Can’t get enough.
Just finished watching the first episode about Dust and it blew my mind. The dead is not dead, it is alive somewhere else! Merci Beaucoup Netflix!
I have to thank you for this program. Just fun and wonderful, and the Dust episode was so informative and moving.
This was such a good series! Latif and his team did a brilliant job. So well researched and narrated in a way that was easy to digest without being too dumbed down or oversimplified like some other shows these days that deal with delivering narratives on complex issues. I hope netflix does another season.
Latif is such an incredible journalist I am so excited for this!!
