I'm an international deejay
with over 1 million subscribers on YouTube. Your mixes are the biggest Afrobeat mixes right now, online, do you know it? And today, I'm taking you behind the scenes to show you
what it's really like to be a deejay. Your online following grew
exponentially during the pandemic. You've asked me a million questions
about my daily life. And today, I'm peeling back the curtain. I'll take you through my morning routine,
show you how I plan for upcoming gigs. Communicating
with event organizers. And you will even get to hear a new song
that I'm working on. It's not all glamor. Being a deejay involves
a lot more than just spinning records. So buckle up. Hit that subscribe button
if you haven't already. And let's find out what a day in the life
of a deejay is really like. So, usually wake up this early. I do...Unless i’m hungover. Yeah, but I try to wake up at 7:00 in the morning every single day.
Just to get my day started and to get my workout done
so I can get so
me energy for the day. Yes. So come and join me
and see what I do in the morning. In my work out. Alright Hello all, my name is Abraham. And, I got really into fitness
and working out around 16. I started training martial arts
when I was ten years old. I do. I have a black belt in taekwondo. So today we'll be doing more of a pool
focused workout. So we'll be working lats,
we’ll be working back, biceps. Because last week we had to rearrange,
you know, scheduling wise. That's that's another big th
ing
is that I always like to remind everybody even if you can only get two days
a week, it's better than nothing, right? You can always kind of make up for it if you have time the following week
or maybe at the end of the week. So today we'll be more focused on pool and then maybe if we have some time,
a little bit of legs. But I usually save my legs
for like a specific day. Pull? Pull, yeah. So like any muscle that you would think like that pulls with the pulling motion. Zero. Surgery? If they
had a surgery for just getting muscles, I'll take it. Yeah but you know,
You gotta work hard, so no pain no gain mhmm Whew! What a breakfast. So, right about now,
I just finished breakfast. I'm about to go ahead and freshen up, and
get ready for the live show on YouTube. So, Yeah. Let's go. But before we go live, let's shoot a promo
for one of my sponsors. Alright guys,
So I'm about to do a promo for a bank. It's one of the sponsors I'm walking with.
They have a really good promo. They're going
to sell tickets
to a soccer game in the U.K. So I'm going to announce it, make a video drop
and post it on my Instagram and YouTube reel
see if we get some lucky winners. All right. So they send me a script, so I'm going to
just read it out and see how I can uhm, I can do it. Okay. One, two, three. Here we go. What's up people? I'm calling out all the Kenyans
in the diaspora, especially in the UK. I've got a surprise for you. You can win two tickets to the Manchester versus Luton
match in Old T
rafford on November 11. Tag everybody brbrbb, Last but not least,
make sure you post and tag me at arbbbgbg Okay. Last but not least,
make sure you post or tag me on my social media and Instagram
or Facebook. At Dj Shinski and also tag Absa, Kenya. That's right. The lucky winners will be announced
this coming Friday. So make sure you participate. Send this video to anybody
who needs to know about this. And I can't wait
to announce the winner soon. All right. Good luck, guys. We’ve got 15 minutes
, so I'm going to start promoting. Send WhatsApp messages,
post it on my Instagram, Facebook, All that good stuff so I can let
everybody know we got about to do a live show So we are about to begin the show in a few minutes. We’re just testing the mic.. Get comfortable Let me know where you are listening from. Represent your country. Represent your City. Let me know in the chat. Okay. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Happy Wednesday Everybody Happy, Happy Wednesday Happy Mid-week. I hope your week is g
oing well. My name is Dj Shinski,
streaming live from Houston, Texas. Here’s a glimpse of my live shows. Shoutout to everyone dancing on the zoom party. It’s amazing,
people from all over the world tune in. I love to see all the families dancing together. So make sure to subscribe to be notified next time I go live! The live show was really fun. Now let's go to the storage. I'm on my way to the storage. I do have a lot of equipment,
sound equipment and stuff like that. Lighting. Usually started
in the storage area,
so I'm going to go ahead and drop off some speakers and pick up some other equipment
that I need for this weekend. I'm going to be renting it out. But before we do that, let's take some phone calls You’re that mzungu that deejays Rhumba and Ohangla and da, da, da, da, da, da I’m like Who the hell you They were surprised right? Speaking of that Have they sent business class? Hehe Business class Wueh, Sawa! Your life has elevated. Wueh We have to elevate in this life man! Hehe
Yeah. When I go there, I'll make sure
we organize something for you. I'll talk to him. Yeah. I love Kenyan man. They, the culture man It's so different over there. what's up, man? What's up, bro? you still need the controller? Yeah I can drop it off today. Talk about this weekend's shows... ABSA and a potential show in UK next year. Yeah. Okay. All right, fam. We'll be in touch. Thank you again. Yeah. All right, cool. Thank you. A lot of phone calls during the day. And mostly is people asking
questions,
deejays Clients, you know I have to follow up with clients. I usually speak with Brenda B.K. a lot. And also, Brandon.
He lives in Kenya. He's also my booking manager in Kenya. So we’re trying to coordinate and organize everything together
so it can make the workflow easier for us Yeah,
sometimes I do talk to them together, especially if it's matters
of dealing with Africa events. Since I'm planning a big tour in December
to go to Africa. I got shows in Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi,
Ken
ya. I'm working on Ethiopia and South Africa. So all that I can’t do on my own,
that's why I rely on, Brandon and B.K. to help me organize
and talk to clients and club managers. Promoters You know,
pretty much send contracts, send invoices, make sure my rider is good. Transportation, logistics,
know, it's a lot of stuff. I cannot keep up with it by myself,
So shout out to Brenda, Brenda and Brandon and shout out to them. They really helped me a lot with that. And so. All right. You guys are welc
ome to come and see
my storage, a little storage and see how how much stuff I have. Okay, so, guys,
we just made it to the storage. This is where we store
most of my equipment. I do work with a partner. His name is D.j Kwadwo All of us we chipped in
and we got all this equipment courtesy of... Tafari Productions.
And K & K Productions. So I have a whole bunch of equipment. This is enough to set up for like, a big,
big event. Almost 500 people and up. This is where we store our stuff
for weddings
, Concerts, corporate events,
even club events as well. So yeah, let me show you.
Let me show you around. So we' do have some lights over here,
some up lights, dancing lights. Moving heads. A whole bunch of moving heads. We do have a truss,
so we have the complete package over here for all the lighting that you need. And also right over here,
we do have some speakers, 12 inch QSC speakers,
whole bunch of speakers right here. We have some more speakers.
Subwoofers over here in the bottom. Another
subwoofer over here. And actually we do have this dancing
on the cloud Fog machine. We use this for weddings. First dances and stuff like that. Comes out really, really nice for, for weddings. So yeah, make sure you book us, Tafari Productions. Most expensive equipment. Wow. Everything's expensive over here. I think the LED screens are expensive. Also,
the speakers, they can get really pricey, Especially if you get a lot of them. The lights, too. Yeah, but I'll say the LED screens first. This.
Yeah,
I think I got it, like, ten years ago. original K series K 12, man, I call them like the Toyotas of speakers
because they last they last a long time. The original one,
not the new ones, the K 12 2.0 I mean 2.2. Not this one is it. think it cost me like 600 bucks
at that time. last me for a very long time
shotout to QSC. Our goal is to expand
and get more screens, get more equipment so we can become
like a huge production company that we can service the whole of Houston,
Dallas, Texas, ever
ywhere we want to go. You know, so I do weddings, whenever I do
corporate events in Houston locally or Dallas or anywhere,
I come over here and pick up my my equipment and then, you know,
it's a it's a it's a bit of a it's a lot. It's a lot. you know, next time I'll show
you all the equipment and everything that I have,
I'll probably make a video about it. We’re going to see a producer. He's from Kenya, but he lives here in Houston. He's a big time producer. He's produced for a lot of big artist
s, including Wizkid.
We’re working on a project with him and I wanted to to finish up some details
on this song we're coming up with. But before we do that, you know the deal. That's right. More phone calls. I wonder,
can we do something like that, kwa dayparty yako Mimi my plan is to get
some really good content on Sunday. at least 20-30 minutes of me
mixing 20-30 minutes of you mixing with different angles. We can combine that and put that mix
together for YouTube. yeah. So when I share potent
ial numbers,
we can get into that. When we get into the details of the numbers. Okay,
So Westheimer is now the new Beachnut. What it used to be. Westheimer’s Africa now. Wow. That's insane. For me, I can share my schedule on the
on the group chat. Once I check it and make sure. I was gonna get a sign to put it out on the street for people to see
Beats & Brunch upstairs. Yeah, but at this point
I don't think I need the sign because we’re already going to be at capacity. Ita jaa hiyo. Yeah yeah. Y
eah. Yeah. So I had like almost ten meetings today. Even my my voice, I’m losing my voice. I'm losing my voice because, you know, it's I'm always on the phone talking to clients, talking
to other promoters, Deejays. My manager. Customer service, man. That's that's what takes a lot of my time. It's a it's a good problem. Let’s just put it away. Hopefully we can finish the project today and release the song very soon
because I'm excited for it. It's a brand new song. It's something that I've been
wanting
to do and expand on besides deejaying. So just just follow me and you'll see. You'll see what I'm talking about. Now I wonder, Vile inasema It’s Dj Shinski Can I say...Dj Shinski, Tino DLX So it can sound like we are together. Now it looks like we are separate Either in the beginning or the end. It’s going to be very short. Yeah, I think we can do on both ends. It should say Tino DLX What do you think of the song so far? Don’t wait. You ready? It's Dj Shinski One, two, three. Here we go.
It’s Dj Shinski. Mr. Vibes on Vibes...Tino DLX Something like that? Okay. Tino DLX Tino DLX Man I don’t think I can be an artist. Tino DLX Almost there, I can see it. It’s Dj Shinski, Tino DLX It’s Dj Shinski, Tino DL It’s Dj Shinski, Tino DLX Eh, You hear that bass? [Now Playing] Dj Shinski ft. Tino DLX - Don’t Kill My Vibes So guys that just was a glimpse of my daily life... Keep in mind, all that is during the day and I still have to perform at night. I finish up the studio at around 9 and t
ake an hour and half to prepare for the real deal. That's right; The clubs! So let me know if you'd like to see part two
where you get to see me on tour, traveling, shopping,
performing, and much more. If you want to see more cool stuff
like this, make sure to hit that subscribe button. See you in the next video. Peace out.

Whats the most surprising part about my day you saw on the video? 🤔
First I came across your old school RnB mix then I came across your old school local genge mix and I got hooked. No other mixes compare. Hats off.
