@lindaleg3659

And they gave Caitlyn Jenner the woman of the year award and she/he was still packing.

@rickjoyce9272

Think of all the people who actually worked hard in their sport and this is what they reward. Sad times

@Sho-of6ti

Transformed the program? Colorado won at least 4 games every year since 2015 except for last year. He took them back to what they have been over the last decade

@Steve-mx2ip

Deion being named SI’s sportsperson of the year is equivalent to Caitlyn Jenner being named woman of the year.

@jayceh1031

We are now celebrating coaches who finish dead last in their conf with one win. 🤣😂🤣

Well deserved...no one else has had this kind of impact in a long time. "There are numbers that define the Prime Effect upon the University of Colorado in Boulder, a place that hasn’t always had a chummy relationship with football. First-year applications are up 26.4% year over year; Black or African American applications are up 80.6%; nonresident applications are up 29.8%; and international applications are up 38.4% from 97 countries, including 16 that didn’t have any applications last year. While those numbers cannot be definitively linked to Sanders, others can be: September sales at the school’s online team store were up 2,544% over the same month in 2022. Every home game in 50,183-seat Folsom Field was sold out for the first time in school history."

It's a popularity contest and Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders is one of the greatest self-promoters on the planet. When people tell you who they are, believe them. "Diamond Rolex, with 'gators on my feet I got two pair for every day of the week My hair is done, my fingernails too Six buttons down and I don't know what to do Must be the money (Must be the money)".

Ladies and Gentleman……Sports Illustrated is proud to present the first reparations award in history. Stayed tuned for our double combo conversation with Deon and Caitlyn. Watch Caitlyn and Deon ask each 1 question each about their struggles in life. What an inspirational moment. 🧔‍♀️👨🏿

Name a 2023 sports figure who commanded a bigger AUDIENCE than Coach Deion Sanders - on and off the field. What college football team entertained a greater mass of spectators, even when playing late night games, than Deion's Buffs? Thousands even tuned into his son's social media videos just to hear Deion's motivational speech of the day. People tuned into Deion and the Buffs from all around the world. Foreign applications to attend Colorado University are at an all time high. The name of SI's award is not "The winningest 2023 College Football Coach Award." If you could only see the big picture, then you would not have any issues with Deion winning the SI award. The bottom line is THE BOTTOM LINE!! If the WNBA could do what Deion and the Buffs did for the Networks this past season, then the WNBA would be subsidizing the NBA and not the other way around. The take home message is, at the end of the day, SPORTS IS ENTERTAINMENT!!! No one watches football, attends a concert, or goes to a movie to learn about new advancements in cancer research. If it ain't entertaining, then we ain't watching it. The Network Directors understood that and their owners (the shareholders) also understood that simple concept. Boulder, Colorado businesses also understood that and thus they reaped millions and millions just because Deion was in town. Network Directors as well as SI and 60 Minutes all honed in on Deion Sanders for the identical reason that robbers rob banks - THAT'S WERE THE MONEY IS. Win or lose, the Buffs were 2023's biggest entertainers in college football. And guess what, God willing, if Deion is back next season, all eyes will be back on Deion and his Buffs - some will be watching to find fault, but most of us will be watching simply to enjoy the show. Finally, remember this if you don't remember anything else - THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS!! And Prime Time is SHOW BUSINESS!!😅

@keysersoze503

Should have been called The Most Over Hyped Sports Person Of The Year. Sports Illustrated obviously is desperately struggling to be noticed.

@yocreoibelieve1068

Coach Prime is promoting Bal*enciaga; I wonder if Ralphie going to be in bondage clothing next year?

@andrejohnson1703

There's a reason I haven't read or purchased this magazine in years!!!
