Pour soutenir notre belle Aventure : https://paypal.me/voyageetnouvellevie Evidemment, nous sommes partis de France avec des économies. kikou welcome to this new video so we meet in the Cocora valley to see the Assir palm trees, it is the emblematic tree of Colombia and above all they are the tallest palm trees in the world, they can reach 60 m in height so these palm trees are endemic there are 16 different species of palm trees in the world but in reality it is not in the world it is rather in an area which goes from Venezuela to Bolivia but it is in Colombia that there are the greatest quantity of palm tree and the most diffe
rent species and the species they differentiate by the height of their Tron and also their growth speed and there is also one of the species the species also differentiate according to altitude where they are located so uh there are several hikes to do in the area on the kokora valley it goes from 1 hour to 5 hours of walking so we'll take it easy eh we'll start again we'll take the ort quietlou so we'll just go a viewpoint we are going to take a short hour of leisurely walking among the Assir p
alm trees Didier is wise it hides something yes it hides something and well there we are we reached a viewpoint which gives us a magnificent view of the Assir palm trees and also the surrounding area and there is also the possibility of continuing a little higher but no we are going to go back down the wax palms have an extremely slow growth eh yes then at the moment when the seed falls and the moment when it comes out a little with the Tron and the leaves it takes 25 years 25 years to come out
and we can see a little of the leaves and the little Tron it's huge you have of course 25 years 25 years and what's more there is no canopy but before there were a lot of trees so for anyone crossing the CAN canopy it still took a good ten years, so 35 years before obtaining a sufficient size already to pass the canopy and then it can go up to 60 m of top and each line that we see on his Tron well simply represents a year so Didier tried to count the lines earlier for yeah so I went up but not a
ll the way to the top because that afterward we have difficulty we will have to have binoculars but otherwise I was about 150 years old yeah h enormous and I don't know if I if I specified it earlier but so for information these palm trees there they grow only between 1500 m and 3000 m altitude, that's why we don't find them everywhere and it's in very specific areas. We'll stop for 5 minutes to admire the panorama because the valley is very pretty and then we will take the motorbike quietly h a
nd I observe the little pe grain he plays with the seeds j at B we will show you the campsite where n where we are staying so it is mikasita camperite and therefore it is in Armenia and so the truck is behind and we will show you right away what is in front of us so this is their house they live here their vehicle the caracola that you saw the Bonanza and then there are different plants of all kinds there are lemon trees here uh there are fruits uh red fruits that you can pick there are even mar
maladiers that is to say there is the pot that grows directly on the tree with marmalade inside here it is at the star the stard so there you go after a little bit further well we have the terrace over here we can we can come there as we want there is no problem having a drink sit down to work they also have a whole banana tree look how pretty it is and what's more they put bananas available all the time there are dogs who come to us but yeah yeah we have bananas available and they are HM super
good they are they are are pesticides yeah frankly that's great because they are really super good they have a very good taste yeah well that means that well they can't be more ripe they come from there they are directly in the mouth that can't be more mature it can't be better there's no transport just the little girl who goes to get them so it's good well we're having fun eh ah yeah yeah honestly that's if I liked to eat such good bananas because at least they are they are ripe what it's like
when you eat cherries on the tree it's the same yes that's exactly it yeah it fell and uh we are good we are good here because well the nights are calm the truck is safe for the day plus we are a little bit in a central point that allows us to navigate all around the city to travel all around with the motorcycle with jubilet hip that's great yes that's true yes yes we haven't finished yet with the wax palms it's not only in Cocora that we can see them and today Today we're going to try to see a
lot more and that's at the Carbonera bike, yes, so on the other hand we have to go there on a motorbike because the branches will sometimes reach up to 2.50 3 m so there by truck it was totally impossible and there are still 100 km yeah and then they still announce a little bit of rain so we're going to try to manage all that and we're going to try to find the valley because it's really not easy to access and not easy to find and we're going to try not to do like yesterday to catch the storm aft
erwards the beautiful birds don't wet as they say at home and well I was wrong well me too so look at the outfit people 's clothing there is none to have gloves neither half nor anything at all its even sometimes in CH so when the road melts it gives that no look hole think that there in truck it doesn't go at all pretty eh g arbissante ohas seen com then mareline 2500 m what did we do barely go 6 km of path yeah what do you think it's okay it's okay a break but on the other hand it's worth it b
ecause the view is really magnificent and the farm which is here is lucky because it is on a ridge it has a view on one side and on the other frankly exceptional its place but what are you doing Didier you are down yeah I am out of heat I have the tab and I have the N which is leaking yeah we are going higher and higher in altitude there and so it's true that it's not very hot well there's a little ray of sunshine from from time to time but it's true that for Didier who drives well the fingertip
s are all cold yeah then as I'm on the handlebars because well there the road is fine but the road is fine you're killing the heat of the engine to warm you up yeah yeah ah it feels good ah the tab it really hurts but afterward it will be fine in any case how good are we we are among the vegetation we still have about thirty kilometers like that certainly a bit more yeah maybe even better it's a little bit cold for the didis but it's really very pretty and we should soon see palm trees again we
saw a few but there should be more and more more good we have just taken a break regularly for a few meters the vegetation disappears on the path that we take offering us a magnificent panorama such as this one we can even admire birds I know that there are Condors by here so maybe it's a Condor or other birds of prey but it's really very very very pretty come on let's hit the road again at 3000 m wow how beautiful it's pretty the magnificent road is worth suddenly this path but a beautiful Bade
n tomorrow we do it on foot that's it we are at the highest point alto de la Linéa so we passed we passed Salento then we went up so we only did the path of woods as you could see there we are at halto de la Linéa there were a few palm trees we saw a few in the vegetation but not many yet so afterwards they are perhaps very well hidden and then well we go start to go back down we will head towards toch and after toch there will be something else again and well that's it we go back to the other s
ide of the mountain where the cold Couron that's it we found the wax palm trees over here this are complete forests of palm trees CIR the difference between the Cocora valley and the Carbonera valley so here in fact don't confuse it with carbonara lesp ah no but that would almost give the end, well normal it's time no then yes so a big difference is- that is to say that in the Cocora valley the wax palms are in adulthood are all in adulthood and even dying that is to say that they die one after
the other and small gradually over time well I think that the wax palms in Cocora will completely disappear yeah they are all dying one after the other and whereas here in the Carbonera valley in fact we see well so complete forests and it goes from growth to adulthood and there are some who are really many, many, many years old which Didier still had fun counting so there are up to 100 years ago roughly almost yeah and so it is finally here in the Carbonera valley that we identify the greatest
density of wax palms in Colombia 600,000 no and even in the world and indeed 80% of the palm trees uh on the planet of palm trees wax of the planet are grouped here in the Carbonera valley and as Didier says to give you an idea in the Cocora valley there are 6000 around 6000 wax palms and here 600000 so good and it's small it makes a big difference and it reproduces it develops then it's true that they are in an environment well what in full development they are not bothered they are not so as I
told you see inside a forest like that it is there 'shade the little one is in the shade it can take 25 years before getting its good growth and as I told you also 10 years before crossing the canopy so it is really important to have shade for the small or I have a beast on it ah yes is gone and the Cocora valley is really in fact the hyper tourist space to cover the palm trees with wax uh in the world and the Carbonera valley well well there you go you have to be motivated to come and see the
palm trees because well you already need the suitable vehicle there are some tourist tours which are offered cycling they ride a bicycle that is to say where they lie at 3000 m with a van and the bicycle they go back down there are 20 there are 20 km of descent on one side 25 on the other we are on the side oh 25 km on the other and then it is not a tourpau path no matter the means of transport so in fact, well, yeah, you have to be motivated, it's not a tourist trip strictly speaking, but we al
most played the game both times, but for us it's what we like because it's really an immersion in the heart of nature we see the palm trees again and frankly that's great and we're all alone yeah we're good and here we are again in front of an air palm why air palm quite simply because the natives we Fa with the powder yeah with the powder of these palm trees made a wax to make a wax to seal clothes to waterproof them or yes and other people also made a mixture to waterproof the hull of their bo
at so certainly people who went fishing or near the sea l ocean or rivers and I also think that there must have been other uses but in any case today uh they are protected yeah these trees are protected I think it's a good thing yeah and the production of wax has become completely prohibited, here you know everything about the wax palm we are going to continue the descent and I think that we will still come across a few CIR palm trees along the way and then we will especially try to come back be
fore the rain so here we go Didier already ready so I have to get ready and all the way up we can see more Assir palm forests and this one is even closer and look at this palm tree there but it's super high I think that this one must be more than 60 m high wow it's pretty there too yeah small it's cool it's running we have nothing to eat but we're not there are a lot of them and excellent but no oh I have soup it's for later P gone wow it's nice there there aessus it's pretty there too it's not
it's not one of the forests that we overlooked from puessus I believe that if I start to feel each Bos up to the shoulders in the buttocks everywhere I believe that tomorrow it will be ah you are filming yes like that I know everything you say oh look, there are still plenty of Ares there, go take a little photo, so we were up there, a good little field, my butt is okay, oh, it hurts everywhere, yeah, the path is magnificent, it's macadamé, it's that's why it jumps a little we're doing a PA eh w
e're doing a PA [__] come on [__] want to get my balls out [__] oh the cow ah you're splitting your face NVE ah but I have more we're going to end this walk with the machine volcano in good French it looks like the thing volcano so it's right behind me and its crater is about 2 km5 in diameter and it 's still active it hasn't had an eruption for a while but it could have one come on we're going to join the truck it's starting to get busier and busier the sky so we're going to try to arrive befor
e the rain the gruc gruc hello the big gruc your butt hurts I have pain everywhere you you wanted to come yes no more 150 band anyway well we still have about 60 ENF to get back on the road so why do you want me to put some they are half naked on the motorbikes and well that's it we came back to the truck at camping we are dead we are very tired and we are in pain we are in pain everywhere we have done about how many kilometers 150 in all hours barely more wow and how many trails of path of path
not one track one track it's P that's it it's a path but completely dented we did uh almost 50 km of track finally dented path I even wonder if it's not more yeah it's possible because well afterwards we went back down we continued to get back to the road it's possible but hey it's not a track it's a road which is on the map so it's not a track it's that and but hey you're sorry no no no no no but I'm on fire ah I don't even have a butt anymore I have what do you call it yeah yeah no honestly u
h we're very tired but we had a very good day it was a very nice walk we saw uh even more palm trees and other trees too we didn't film everything because that would be a lot but we also saw a lot of eucalyptus we saw uh trees with plants falling down we it's not really what it is, no honestly it was super nice and we didn't escape the rain we had a few drops on the way back but it was fine and I would also like to thank Kika and anoir because that it was Kika and an noir who told us who told us
about the Carbonera valley they told us the Cocora valley well well ok it's good but so it's true that it's touristy and they told us said yes there is a similar one but more natural and well yeah thank you very much for recommending that to us because we preferred the Carbonera valley ah yes because the first valley where there are four trees fighting a little a bit like that and the other where we have forests it's really magnificent so the tourist place is really good now that we've been the
re it's ugly and the other which is really good with real forests of of these trees there frankly it's magnificent that's why C order there too ah yes because TR I purposely made Cocora first because I still wanted to see the two to compare we first made Cocora and then the other to finish with the best Cocora you have a wallet on a leg that the other you really have the the trees the wax palms which are really magnificent it's it's is something else okay well now we're going leave you we will r
est then we will meet again for the next outing to know that it is necessary 44 or on a motorbike ah yes yes yes impossible to go ah yes no with the truck it's not possible no but the truck is not possible already at 3 m there are huge branches things like that well because of the height and then the bridges and the ground which is collapsing it is forbidden for the truck and in places the width also because it There were a few places that were a little bit narrow but it was mainly the height an
d the weight yeah that's it, let's have a little aperitif yeah I've already started, well we're going to try to rest all these pains or there there there there we accumulate the kilometers on a motorbike but hey it's good it's very practical as we often say it's really complementary to the truck so it allows us to go where we want frankly it's cool and the back and forth that we want finally it's really it's really a great freedom in addition yeah h on the other hand it hurts well we'll get used
to it eh yeah yeah yeah it'll do it well well in any case I hope that you liked this video you discovered the wax palm trees with us you came on a motorbike with us yeah we took you with us and that makes us very happy so I hope you liked it and if it is Well, we're counting on you to give big thumbs up, subscribe with the little bell, share and then we'll see you soon for a new video and don't forget to travel, it's Monday, it's freedom Ciao
