Warning: Do not, under any circumstances watch this anime with your parents.
Netflix really showed this for us to bring back terrible memories
A scene where someone is in danger and actually gets saved. That's quite humorous
So much great symbolism in this show. When akira transforms the evil and innocence combine to form the ultimate weapon against evil. Notice how he is under the cross and depicted under it various times to convey that he is basically a force of good using the power of evil for the light hence it shows him fighting under the cross(good) vs the actual evil devil's. The end where Satan says he made his greatest enemy says it all as he is the root of evil saying that against the ultimate force of good in the show, Devilman.
Just realized I totally forgot how awesome this show is. Definitely need to find the time for a rewatch.
I freaking love that roar at 1:20, it reminds me of a quote from the Wolverine origin comic “it was an awful, revolting noise, not a scream, but the birth-cry of a new creature that surely had no place on God’s earth”
So this was one of the first animes I ever saw. Interesting choice I made. Left me scarred. But at the same time got me into anime, and I´m glad it did.
The reason why he smiled at ryo is because he still has a akira inside him and he is happy that he is safe
Ngl the bgm always gives me chills. The series got one of the best ost ever
That low angle shot of Akira leaping into the air at 1:38 is so unbelievably well animated, and most of this show is well animated. God damn I love this show
This anime has a feeling of the 2000's.
This anime left me feeling some type of way I had a depressing vibe for a good 3 weeks then when I rewatched it I cried harder than the first😭🤚
That shot of his eyes at 0:58 I can't explain it but it's just so amazing
Trauma : The Anime
1:53 - 2:15 That part is so good. Akira’s face, the fire in background and the music makes that scene so epic.
i don’t think a lot of people see how beautiful this anime truly is, i remember reading the manga and when the new anime came out i already knew the story was going to amaze me once more, being animated differently. & the symbolism in it…it is genuinely a piece of art.
When rewatching the scene again, the dead bird demon on top of ryo 1:45 seem to be a forshadowing of ryo being satan. Ryo fallen down and the dead bird demon's wings being visible as well connects with fallen angels, satan is one of them.
1:21 this music played at the beginning, middle and end. It’s what made me get chills after rewatching this scene, and cried a lot of tears. If you watched this anime you would understand.
i was too busy being confused when i first watched this i didnt realise the visuals were so good. How are akira and ryo so good looking in all frames lol
This has to be my favorite sounding roar it's like a fusion between a scream and a roar
