this afternoon and evening okay so our latest severe weather outlook puts most of north Texas under some kind of risk and specifically the Metroplex areas of Johnson and Ellis County to the north under an enhanced risk that's a level three out of five and this is for the potential of large to very large hail strong winds with strong wind gusts uh and a very low tornado risk just outside of that is a slight risk and that does include palopinto County uh areas of par County and even South into Hil
l County Nao County so just make sure that you have a way to get warnings this afternoon the main concern like I mentioned will be the potential for large hail and strong winds we do have a lowend tornado thread although that's not going to be a widespread threat and there is a very very low flood threat and it's because of how fast these storms are moving right now there's cloud cover overhead there is a little bit of shower activity closer to the Red River but we have what's called a strong ca
p in place it acts as the lid doesn't allow thunderstorms to develop that is going to be overcome or broken today around 4: or 5 in the afternoon along our Western counties because of this dry line so these storms will eventually progress towards areas of wise Parker County around 6 and then eventually the Metroplex sometime between 600 and 7 between 7 I would say about 9 we'll see those storms move across the region and then they'll start to dissipate and really clear out by 10: tonight I am ex
pecting that front to push push through but right now cloudy overhead 72° so if you're going to be out and about early it's warm it's humid and we are looking at some Breezy southerly winds at about 10 to 20 gusting up to 25 temperature near 73 around 10 79 around 1 into the low 80s around 4 this afternoon when we'll start to see uh the uh rain potential go up for our Western counties a lot of us making it into the low 80s which is a couple of degrees warmer than what's considered normal this ti
me of the year and we are expecting to see cooler conditions tomorrow so storms today those temperatures drop tomorrow it might be a little shock to the system in the afternoon temperatures in the upper 60s and then we'll be in the 70s the rest of the week y'all after today this week looks fantastic we're talking 70s uh we do see rain though return Sunday into early parts of next week right Tashara how are the Reds looking
