According to the old liquor policy, the responsibility of selling liquor was in the hands of government institutions and departments like
DSIIDC, DCCWS, DTIDC, and DSESC. A big problem in this old liquor policy was that the seller had to pay a 25% value-added tax. This tax was so big and so problematic that because of it a black market of liquor was created which caused loss to the public because there was no quality control of liquor in the black market, so you could get liquor of bad quality due to which you could have a lot of health issues, and the government would also be losing tax revenue. i Deputy CM Manish Sisodia implemented the new liquor policy. He said that this liquor policy will end this mafia rule, consumer's experience will be better, and on top of that, there will be a profit of ₹3500 crore in the government treasury. Under this policy, the entire Delhi will be divided into 32 zones and 27 liquor shops can be opened in each zone. According to this, a total of 849 liquor shops can be opened in Delhi. y. ED has said that allegedly these businesses got favorable terms in the new liquor policy. In return, kickbacks i.e. funding have been provided to Aam Aadmi Party. The money they have received has been used in the assembly elections of Punjab and Goa. There is a big contractor named Dinesh Arora who became an informant of the government. This person has told ED that first, he made a connection with Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party, and after that Sanjay Singh got him connected with Manish S
odia. And then Dinesh Arora allegedly said that the Delhi Government told him that we are making this policy for your benefit. And then Dinesh Arora said that the money he gave to Aam Aadmi Party was used by Aam Aadmi Party in the 2020 Punjab elections. And this is a big reason why Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia have been jailed. You can see that if this is true then it is clearly an example of crony capitalism. ED has also alleged that in their investigation they found that Aam Aadmi Party has
also given undue favor to a big company named South Group. One member of this South group is K Kavitha who is also the daughter of former Telangana CM. ED has alleged that K Kavitha had lobbied Kejriwal on behalf of the South Group to give extra benefits to the South Group. In this case, Telangana party YSR’s MP Srinivasulu Reddy and his son Raghav Manuta are also involved, who have also become police informers. According to them, senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party and many members of the So
uth Group were directly involved in the formulation of this policy. ED is also alleging that ₹100 crore was also given as a bribe. This has also been corroborated by the WhatsApp message of a man named Buchi Babu. Who is Buchi Babu? Buchi Babu is the chartered accountant of K Kavitha who lobbied Kejriwal for South Group. Now you see that the same crony capitalism for which BJP is attacked that Modi gives undo benefits to Ambani and Adani, that is the exact accuse ED has leveled against Kejriwal.
Meaning, look at this hypocrisy! It would be like Ananya Pandey telling other actors that they are getting unfair advantages in the industry. ED has alleged that in return for the kickbacks given to Aam Aadmi Party, South Group also got control of the wholesaler business of Indospirits, control of several retail zones, and also got the exclusive business of Pernot Ricard, and they've also been granted L1 license, despite the multiple complaints against them that they violated the Excise Policy
of 2021. ED has also alleged that they have evidence that the ₹45 crore that Aam Aadmi Party received as a bribe was also used in the Goa elections. This money was given to Mis Chariot Productions as part cash and part bill payments. This is the agency that Aam Aadmi Party had used for the outdoor campaign of the Goa elections. An employee of Chariot Production has also confirmed this according to ED. That is why ED has said that since Arvind Kejriwal is the ultimate leader of the Aam Aadmi Part
y, and he was also involved in the formulation of this policy, hence he should have known about this kickback scheme, and which money was going where. That's why this case has been filed against him and that's why he is being jailed. Now in response to this, Aam Aadmi Party and Atishi Marlena are saying where is the money? If we have taken money then show us that money, right? But the big dealers who have become police informers have said that we have given the money, here is the receipt of the
money. The money is not available because they already spent it in the elections of Punjab and Goa. As Babu Bhaiya had said, I fried it in hot oil and ate it.
